Kid Cudi & 2 Chainz “Can’t Believe It” On New “Entergalactic” Track: Listen

Ohio-born entertainer Scott Mescudi returned with his follow-up to 2020’s Man On The Moon III: The Chosen this New Music Friday, boasting collaborations from names like Ty Dolla $ign, Don Toliver, Steve Aoki, and 2 Chainz.

Tity Boi assisted on Entergalactic‘s eighth track, “Can’t Believe It,” which follows the arrival of singles like “Do What I Want” and “Willing To Trust” featuring Ty Dolla.

“I been coastin’ since a Motorola (Hello) / Chicken told her I sell more than El Pollo Loco,” the Southern-born recording artist rhymes on his verse. “Emotions up and down like a rollercoaster / I put her sexy ass on the pole, like wanted posters, yeah.”

The new album accompanies Cudi’s animated Entergalactic movie, which he created alongside Kenya Barris. The film stars the rapper himself, as well as friends like Laura Harrier, Timothée Chalamet, Vanessa Hudgens, and 070 Shake.

Kid Cudi’s ‘Burrow’ Song Title Gets A Warm Approval From The Bengals Quarterback

Kid Cudi is preparing for the release of his next album Entergalactic, whose tracklist was just unveiled. The closing track is titled “Burrow,” a nod to Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals. As per a new tweet from Team Reporter Marisa Contipelli, the quarterback appreciated the gesture.

She wrote, “Kid Cudi texted Joe Burrow to let him know a song on his new album was named after him. Burrow smiled pretty big when telling us that.”

In a recent interview, Kid Cudi divulged that he’s going to be stepping back from his music projects to focus on other endeavors. “I think I’m going to take a step back from the Kid Cudi stuff and focus a lot more on developing my own things,” he told Popsugar. “Writing — whether it’s movies or TV shows — producing things, putting stuff together. Just really getting my production company [Mad Solar] up to a place where, in the next three or four years, we’re a household name. I really have goals. We’re off to a great start with the documentary, X, Pearl, and now, Entergalactic. I mean, we have four bangers so far, so I just want to see what else we can do and keep going.”

Kid Cudi May Take A Step Back From Music To Focus On ‘Developing My Own Things’

Kid Cudi has a lot on his plate, from the forthcoming release of his album Entergalactic to his animated Netflix series and film X. So it made sense when, in a new interview, he opened up about planning to take a step back from his music as Kid Cudi to work on other material.

He clarified, “I guess this is the producer Cud era; the writer Cud era. I’ve been a writer for all these years with the music, a storyteller in a lot of ways, but this is just different.” He continued, “I want to keep doing the same thing I’m doing with the music — where I’m inspiring kids and making them not feel alone, not feel so f*cking crazy when they’re dealing with their sh*t. It’s the same thing, just done in a different format.”

Kid Cudi Had Ti West Edit ‘X’ So His Mom Could Watch It

With his new multimedia project Entergalactic coming out Friday, Kid Cudi stopped by The Tonight Show to talk about the upcoming project, perform one of its songs with Ty Dolla Sign, and share adorable stories about his family with host Jimmy Fallon.

One of those stories involved another of Cudi’s acting roles from earlier this year in the horror film X. Because of the film’s explicit nature — it’s about a film crew being killed off while trying to shoot an X-rated movie at an elderly couple’s farm — Cudi jokes that he asked director Ti West to make a “mommy edit” so he could screen it for his mom. To his surprise, the director came through, asking for his mom’s address so he could send her the cleaned-up version of the film.

Cudi also explained his and his daughter’s made-up language, which consists mainly of “meeps” and other nonsense sounds. Then, he joined Entergalactic co-star Ty Dolla Sign (a lot of Tys/Tis in Cudi’s contact list, eh?) onstage to perform “Willing To Trust” from the musical side of the project.

Kid Cudi is ready to drop his Entergalactic album. Ahead of the release of the project and its coordinating Netflix series, Cudi has released the tracklist.

The album is 15 tracks in length and features Ty Dolla $ign, 2 Chainz, Steve Aoki, Dot Da Genius, and Don Toliver.

“Entergalactic is everything I’ve always wanted to do, create a long-form visual companion to an album,” Cudi said. “It all started with the music which helped bring this storyline and these characters to life. Entergalactic is unlike anything I’ve ever done, certainly my most ambitious project to date; I can’t wait for you to finally experience it.

Kid Cudi Drops The Tracklist For His ‘Entergalactic’ Album, Which He Insists Is ‘Not A Soundtrack’

Kid Cudi’s passion project Entergalactic premieres on Netflix in just a few days on September 30, and the album, also entitled Entergalactic, hits streaming platforms the same day. He revealed most of the album was made three years ago but that the Kenya Barris-assisted series is the “greatest piece of art” he’s ever made.

It’s a joy to see Cudi honing in on his pursuit of happiness amidst his ongoing social media feud with Kanye West and Mike Dean. Maybe we’ll have the pleasure to read all about those complicated relationships and others in his upcoming memoir.

We’ve heard the single off the new album featuring Ty Dolla Sign, “Willing To Trust” and well…an alleged leaked album with nothing but fart sounds on wax. But don’t fret because Cudi has released an official tracklist that we can trust.

The Cleveland native called upon the likes of 2 Chainz, Don Toliver, Steve Aoki and Dot Da Genius on this one and promises Entergalactic the album is not to be mistaken for a soundtrack to the Netflix special but yet another Cudi offering to enjoy after his long hiatus; He wrote in response to a tweet, “NOT A SOUNDTRACK.”
