It is no secret that Drake’s name is getting dragged through the mud and then some as of late. Most people have crowned Kendrick Lamar the winner, especially after “The Heart Part 6” was widely panned. With the diss tracks seemingly at a permanent halt, people are making sure to remind The Boy that he took a massive L. Metro Boomin has been an instigator, applauding Lil Wayne for spinning “Not Like Us” at a recent show. He even played his diss beat at a St. Louis Cardinals game the other night. The entire state of California has clearly showed who they believe has taken the W. That point has been hammered home, especially after a supposed sighting of a “BBL Drizzy” mural popping up in Compton.

This wall art was found by a user on X (formerly Twitter), and it is quite the “kick to the family jewels,” for lack of a better word. In the short clip below, it zooms in on a depiction of Drake all beaten up and bloody in a yellow tracksuit. Next to “BBL Drizzy” it says, “They not like us,” a clear reference to Lamar’s final diss. Then, the person behind the camera pans left, portraying Kendrick as one of his many aliases.

They decided to show him as Kung Fu Kenny essentially kicking the crap out of Drake. It is a real disrespectful way to literally paint him. To us, it conveys the utter hatred for the Canadian multi-hyphenate and it seems it is only growing. Even though the diss tracks are no more, this beef is far from over.

Kendrick Lamar Is Overrated & Drake Has More Hits, Former Roc-A-Fella Rapper Believes

It seems like the hip-hop world will be debating the Kendrick Lamar and Drake battle for the rest of 2024, and no take is safe from criticism. Moreover, former Roc-A-Fella rapper Oschino recently offered his two cents on the matter while appearing on the African Cultural Art Forum. Specifically, the State Property MC took issue with the Compton lyricist’s songs, arguing that his Toronto opponent has better hits and has more widespread support behind him. Whether or not you agree with this take specifically is another story, but you can’t deny that things aren’t as black and white as either artist’s strongest Stans would have you believe.

“First of all, Drake got a whole country behind him,” Oschino said of their feud. “Drake got the most hits. Girls like Drake. Kendrick can rap too, but I think he overrated, though. All of his songs are not hot to me. When Drake sings, I hate it. When Drake sings, I cut it off. I say, ‘Drake, don’t do this.’ When Kendrick Lamar sings on some of his songs, he tries to go too deep, I’m like… [unimpressed expression].

Oschino Gives His Take On Kendrick Lamar Versus Drake

“People like something they don’t understand a little bit,” Oschino continued. “You need to be saying some crazy double entendres sometimes but Kendrick Lamar got a lot of songs I don’t like. Lyrics? He hot. But some of the songs, they ain’t for me.” Of course, he’s not alone in thinking that the former TDE creative is overrated, as many other spitters have come forward to criticize him. Perhaps the loudest and most scathing of these is Azealia Banks, who continues to rally against him on social media. But we’ll see how this debate ages; after all, folks are still reeling from the relentless turn this battle took very recently.

Meanwhile, some other criticisms against Kendrick Lamar center more around the biracial angle that he took against Drake, which some understood as a deeper exploration of cultural appropriation and speaking to your community’s issues. It seems that the dust is settling a bit, with fans pretty much declaring K-Dot as the winner. But Metro is seemingly still piling on Drake after “Not Like Us” was spun at a recent Lil Wayne concert.

A fan pulled up to a recent Weezy show, as evidenced by the clip from X below. In the 30-second video, it was revealed that the “Drake killshot” was being played before the Louisiana legend hit the stage. Of course, most people are aware that Wayne and Drizzy are extremely close. For that reason, it is quite shocking to see this. However, it seems that a DJ was just trying to get the crowd ready for the main event.

It seems like, after her listening party for her new album HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, Billie Eilish went out to have a great time with some friends. Inadvertently (and unsurprisingly, given that it’s the number one song in the U.S. right now), she then “took a side” in the Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef, as she partied to the latter’s “Not Like Us” diss track against the former. It’s a small clip and just one of some friends hanging out, but people will probably still make their assumptions and jokes about the whole endeavor. Even some OVO die-hards out there can’t deny that this cut might have a longer shelf life than the average diss track.

Still, this development is particularly interesting because of the history between Billie Eilish and Drake in particular. For those unaware, she had revealed that they texted each other when she was still underage, and then defended The Boy against criticism insinuating an inappropriate relationship or advance. “The Internet is such a stupid-a** mess right now,” the Los Angeles artist told Vogue. “Everybody’s so sensitive. A grown man can’t be a fan of an artist? There are so many people that the Internet should be more worried about. Like, you’re really going to say that Drake is creepy because he’s a fan of mine, and then you’re going to go vote for Trump? What the f**k is that s**t?”

Billie Eilish Vibes Out To “Not Like Us”

Millie Bobby Brown, who Drake also had text message exchanges with, expressed a similar sentiment when he faced scrutiny for this before the Billie Eilish situation. Of course, this all carries a different context now with the Kendrick Lamar beef in mind, and especially with a song that makes such heavy accusations in as catchy of a way as “Not Like Us” does. While we probably won’t hear a specific statement from Billie Eilish on that anytime soon, it would also be unfair to just assume her feelings based on what a DJ put on at a function.

Meanwhile, “Not Like Us” continues to impress both critically and commercially, so it’s likely that Billie Eilish will hear it at least a couple more times while on a night out. Perhaps that’s the biggest oddity about the Kendrick Lamar and Drake battle’s fallout: seeing the rest of the industry react or shy away. Maybe there isn’t much to break down here. But as we wait to see if this is really the end, we can’t imagine how this wouldn’t be a big point of context for fans of either side as their careers move forward this year, and the next one, and the next one.

Kendrick Lamar is reportedly taking a victory lap after fans declared his victory in the Drake beef, and what better place to do it than his home city? Moreover, according to the Wall Street Journal and AllHipHop, he agreed to buy a house in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles for over $40 million. It’s a 16,000-square-foot home from a trust connected to Viet Dinh, former chief legal and policy officer for the Fox Corporation. Reportedly, the Compton rapper would be paying over twice as much for the property than what the previous owners paid for it in 2019, which was $19.5 million.

Furthermore, this comes after Kendrick Lamar’s Brooklyn apartment came up as a jab during the Drake beef, specifically on Drizzy’s “Family Matters.” While these claims also linked to infidelity accusations surrounding his partner Whitney Alford, many fans believe based on Instagram posts that she also moved to this apartment. However, it’s unclear who is moving into this new home, as they keep their personal and private endeavors pretty close to the chest. We know thanks to albums like Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers that their complex relationship remains a supportive and caring one.

Meanwhile, Drake’s Toronto home also came up in this feud, but less on wax and more in general. Kendrick Lamar featured his house on the “Not Like Us” cover art, along with Photoshopped child sex offender pins placed on top of it. Also, it was unfortunately a victim of a shooting in the Bridle Path neighborhood recently, which left one security guard shot and in the hospital. At press time, the motive, method, and connection behind this scare hasn’t been confirmed, so it’s worthless to speculate on whether this rap battle had anything to do with it.

In any case, it seems like Kendrick Lamar has a new home to enjoy in Los Angeles as his West Coast anthem continues to enjoy massive hit status. Whether or not this is the end of the Drake beef is a question we won’t be able to answer for at least a few months. Or at least, until someone throws the first subliminal the other’s way. But most hip-hop fans would come to the conclusion that K-Dot laid the smack down on the Canadian wonder kid. Many were of the opinion that he earned the W after dropping “meet the grahams,” and that “Not Like Us” was just him dancing on his grave. Drake stans will pop out every now and again to say that he is still the superior rapper because of the numbers he puts up when he drops. However, people siding with Kendrick can argue that point too after they hear about his Drake diss streams.

A post from the X account Kurrco has just surfaced and the daily plays Lamar is raking in is absolutely absurd. The data shows that on Spotify, all of the diss records are pulling in nearly 50% of those numbers. To be exact, the final percentage sits at an astounding 43.8% The same user revealed that Kendrick dwarfs Drake’s, which sits at a measly 7.9% To be fair to The Boy, he only uploaded “Push Ups” and “Family Matters” to Spotify.

These stats make a lot of sense, as “Not Like Us,” “euphoria,” “Like That,” and “meet the grahams,” all sit in his top 10 most popular. Moreover, these new claims come from guest Mandii B on the Need To Know podcast, who alleged that Drake was actually in attendance at this year’s Dreamville fest. If you recall, this was the moment in which Cole apologized to K.Dot for his response track, “7 Minute Drill,” affirming that beef wasn’t in his spirit and he would remove the track from streaming services out of love for the Compton rapper.

Well, according to Mandii, Drake was actually backstage at the Dreamville Festival in North Carolina, and was presumably slated to appear alongside J. Cole. She even insinuated that they meant to perform “First Person Shooter” together, but that when Drizzy found out that the “No Role Modelz” MC was going to back out, he left 30 minutes before his colleague hit the stage. Of course, it’s important to note that this is an unverified allegation, one that fans and social media users disputed in the comments section of the post below. Still, considering how the public has reevaluated Jermaine’s decision, this is an interesting possibility to think about.

Lil Yachty Divulges Thoughts On Kendrick Lamar Versus Drake Battle Mentioning Him

After a long period of (almost) silence, Lil Yachty’s finally spoken out, via his A Safe Place podcast, about the beef and battle between his good friend Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Moreover, he specifically said that a lot of people congratulated him for being mentioned by K.Dot and Rick Ross, who was also beefing with The Boy, but that he didn’t want any part in it. The Atlanta artist remarked on his respect for both Kendrick and Drizzy, and called it a “cool thing to watch” that taught him a lot. One interesting revelation or claim is that he knew that one or all of these artists mentioned him before their material came out, although he didn’t specify which track or post despite a heavy hint that it was “Euphoria.”

Finally, Lil Yachty said the beef wasn’t serious. Not only that, but he said it won’t get serious due to the distance between the two combatants and them being “rich as f**k.” Also, there were some thoughts on how people already picked Kendrick Lamar over Drake before the battle even began. “Drake was deemed a loser in this battle before it started,” he believes. “Because people don’t like him, and haven’t, and he’s won for a very long time.

What’s Going On With Kendrick Lamar, Drake & The “Meet The Grahams” Cover Art?

When we look back on the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef, it’s likely that “Meet The Grahams” will be the point of no return. It dropped just minutes after Drizzy’s “Family Matters” diss, its cover art displayed items that allegedly belong to the Toronto superstar, and it contained serious allegations accusing the OVO mogul of child neglect, various addictions, and predatory behavior towards young women and others. It’s hands-down the darkest moment of the battle, and one that K.Dot quickly livened up with the No. 1 smash “Not Like Us.” But despite this feud being over for now, some posts about the cover art on Twitter have led fans down a much darker and more serious path.

An account on the social media platform by the name of EbonyPrince2k24 now has hip-hop heads becoming amateur investigative journalists and private detectives. The items on the “Meet The Grahams” cover art are no longer the focal point of conversation around it. Instead, these videos, tweets, statements, and interpretations in defense of, in Ebony’s words, “King Kendrick,” allegedly suggest a more sinister incident at The Mark Hotel in New York City in July of 2023. We want to make it clear that none of the following claims are proven true or verified; that this got a whole lot deeper than just rap beefing with Drake, and that we’re barely scratching the surface. We don’t know how involved Kendrick Lamar is in all this extracurricular speculation, as this seemingly transcends hip-hop, but here are more or less what the main claims are and what the alleged controversies suggest.

EbonyPrince2k24’s First Posts About The “Meet The Grahams” Cover Art

First, the rabbit hole deepened when EbonyPrince uploaded a video displaying various items that Kendrick Lamar put on his “Meet The Grahams” cover art. These include a shirt, prescription drugs with July 2023 dates, a May 8, 2024 newspaper, a Maybach glove, and jewelry receipts. Ebony claimed that he did not steal these items, as DJ Akademiks had suggested, and warned Ak and Drake to publicly say that Ebony did not steal the items or face legal action (at press time past noon on Monday, May 13, which was his deadline for this, no news has emerged of a lawsuit). Ebony also tweeted what seems to be CCTV footage of a hotel lobby dated January 22, 2023, which he says he posted to remind Aubrey Graham of when he discarded those items. Journalist Christopher Alvarez also appears in that alleged screenshot.

Further tweets claim that Drake caused two Black men to lose their jobs on that day and that he “made an enemy,” and Ebony further suggested that the 37-year-old is blocking him from getting money. Ebony even claims that the New York Police Department opened an investigation and almost arrested Ebony over Drake’s “accommodations” and claims of assault, the alleged perpetrator of which is unclear. He then posted a video of Drake presumably entering The Mark Hotel in NYC while a female fan tried to run after him. “I’ve stood next to you in the rain to keep the paps and fanatics away,” Ebony wrote. The last important accusation to mention is that Ebony allegedly recorded the video of the “Meet The Grahams” items from, according to fan theories, from either Kendrick Lamar’s balcony or the hotel next to The Mark.

The Second Wave Of The “Meet The Grahams” Rabbit Hole: Drake Catches More Allegations

As if all that wasn’t enough bizarre speculation, EbonyPrince2k24 returned on Monday (May 13) to post another video of items, but this one is different. These aren’t the “Meet The Grahams” cover items, but rather a May 13, 2024 newspaper, a multi-colored set of jewelry, and two shooting range posters. Also, Ebony posted another picture of jewelry on Twitter, perhaps insinuating that these items are allegedly Drake’s. Then, he said that The Boy introduced a “dilemma” into his professional life, suggested that all these items are from a Lost and Found, and that he “understood the assignment” when he saw the “Meet The Grahams” cover art a couple of days after it released. Ebony also insinuates that Drake asked for a “little bag” in Ebony’s possession, and did not care about the “big bag” that may have contained these items.

Meanwhile, Ebony also called Drake’s entourage a “goon squad” that “pushes the service providers who are trying to assist out of the way,” is mean to staff, and once struck a service provider due to thinking that they were a paparazzi. “On top of costing people to be fired, costing people to resign, and nearly costing me to be arrested (all in the lawsuit against young Theodore from earlier)…” he also tweeted. This could refer to The Mark Hotel’s defamation lawsuit against Theodore Weintraub, who reportedly accused the hotel of denying the Holocaust and supporting Jeffrey Epstein.

Final Claims & Theories

Throughout the rest of the day, Ebony has been making more claims, referring to a “3rd party company” that some have unverifiably linked to Drake’s alleged security company. Ebony also alluded to his legal responsibility to “report any questionable activity regarding the humans this law covers…” The law in question is presumably related to “Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse and Maltreatment,” based on a screenshot of a certificate of completion of mandated reported training. Once noon on Monday rolled around, Ebony posted a picture of the Kaspia restaurant at The Mark Hotel, suggesting once again that something serious allegedly happened there on July 27, 2023. “My eyes [don’t] determine age. They… decipher adult from adolescent. Young Theodore made changes to how we monitored youngins…” he captioned the photo.

At around 2 pm EST, EbonyPrince posted another alleged CCTV clip in the same alleged hotel lobby that also shows that journalist Christopher Alvarez was there. An unidentifiable person walks in, but the clip cuts off before anything happens. Ebony then announced that he would sell all the items this November at a New York event, and said that he’s ready to die over this information. However, he suggested that he won’t share it since it’s all with the lawyers now, and finally, he claimed that he “only told Kendrick [Lamar] about the items.” On top of all this, DJ Akademiks also expressed his opinion that Drake allegedly never had a mole in Kendrick’s camp feeding him false info, which is related to these items. Overall, it’s impossible to tell whether EbonyPrince2k24 is telling the truth or making mountains out of molehills. For now, the waters are muddier than ever.
