Offset and Kai Cenat seemed to be the best of friends just last month. As you may recall, the two had a 24-hour stream together. Overall, this was part of Set’s Set It Off album promo. Many claimed that this was an amazing rollout for his project. However, the album came out and didn’t get that much staying power. Ultimately, it was a disappointing showing that had a lot of people scratching their heads. The music was solid, but the impact wasn’t as impressive as the rollout itself.

This week, Offset was supposed to be on Kai Cenat’s new 24-7 jail stream. The stream is to last a total of seven days and boast a plethora of guests. For instance, we have already seen Druski, Chrisean Rock, and NLE Choppa. Unfortunately, as Kai Cenat revealed a couple of days ago, Offset canceled on him at the very last minute. It was a surprising development, however, it was one that Cenat needed to move on from. After all, he had viewers to entertain no matter what.

Kai Cenat Speaks On Offset Situation

As you can imagine, all of this led to some elaborate theories as to why Offset would have canceled. In fact, there were three theories, in particular. Secondly, some said it is because Offset has been to jail and that he didn’t want to relive such an experience. Lastly, but most salaciously, people felt like it all had to do with Kai Cenat having a middle-of-the-road opinion on his album. If you watched Kai react to Set It Off, you know that he found a few of the tracks to be “mid.”

Kai Cenat Appears To Display “Free Tory” Message In His Jail Cell During Marathon Stream

Kai Cenat is currently under the microscope in a big way right now. Overall, it is all thanks to his massive 24/7 jail stream that is set to last seven days. This stream has seen numerous scripted sketches and some massive cameos. NLE Choppa came on stream at one point, while Druski has also participated. This is one of the most ambitious projects that has ever been tried on Twitch. However, there are plenty of people out there who find all of this to be a bit much. Some have gone so far as to say that it is promoting a negative message.

Ultimately, this is Cenat’s first true foray into this kind of performance art. While he typically gets to stream in front of a computer, he never really does things outside of his home. Although he may not be the first Twitch streamer to try something interactive and in a different setting, this is easily the first time it has been done by the biggest man on the platform. Now, however, a message in his jail cell is currently getting scrutinized online, for obvious reasons.

In the Instagram post above, you can see that in Kai’s jail cell, there is a message that simply says “Free Tory.” Now, this is controversial for a plethora of reasons. It is a very obvious reference to Tory Lanez, and how many believe he is innocent. Some of have even gone so far as to label it as a dog whistle of misogyny. Despite Tory being convicted, there are those who still hold onto the belief that Megan Thee Stallion lied. Hence, the message “Free Tory.” Needless to say, it wasn’t a smart decision from Kai given the already-controversial streaming concept.

Kai Cenat’s week-long stream live from a faux prison facility is making a lot of social media rounds at the moment, and it’s for all the good and bad reasons as to why something can go viral. While it’s divisive, it’s hard to argue that it isn’t working. After all, the popular social media star invited various celebrities to be a part of it such as Offset, Druski, NLE Choppa, Teanna Trump, Chrisean Rock, and more. In fact, Choppa already got into some hilarious antics that drew a lot of viral meme attention online, so it’s going pretty successfully so far. Sure, it’s hard to say that about a group of people faking to be inmates, but that’s clearly the idea at hand.

Moreover, the main criticism that seemed to dominate online discussion was that this seems corny, glorifying, and disrespectfully exploitative at worst. However, a key defense of it is that there are plenty of other shows and trends that caused this initial sensationalization of prison. Furthermore, speaking of Minaj, she recently had to clarify her relationship with Cenat after some fans felt she was a little too flirty with the streamer on a recently Instagram Live. “The fact that some people still don’t understand me and Kai relationship chi. We from the same county, we can both take it. Pauz. Or my relationship with funny Marco. Some people be thinking Marco is a random crazy man on the live. Like that man is a star with his own brand.” She continued, “But y’all I just peeped that they aggravate me just like Akbar do every time and yet I still add them to my lives. They get on my nerves how they be getting on my nerves. And JT, Flex, Joe,” Minaj said in an Instagram post.
