Don Toliver Prepares For A ‘Private Landing’ In New Baller Visualizer Featuring Future And Justin Bieber

Don Toliver is in major-label album mode right now. The “After Party” rapper’s Love Sick album, produced with hitmakers like Boi-1da and James Blake (with whom he also shares a song on the album called “Let Her Go”), has finally dropped. The project features guest appearances from some of music’s biggest acts— GloRillla, Lil Durk, Brent Faiyaz, and more. On Friday (February 24), the Cactus Jack artist released a visualizer for the track “Private Landing,” featuring Future and Justin Bieber.

“I don’t know why these h*es can’t stand me/I guess I’m too demanding,” he raps. “Wanna hit the double Coke, the candy (Candy)/I’m so high, no landing (Landing).”

In the visualizer, Toliver can be overheard rapping as a special package is being delivered in what seems to be the “Love Sick” restaurant. This fictional food joint serves as the inspiration behind the project. A beautiful woman is seen putting away stacks of cash, with two armored guards standing by while the chef is busy whipping up some food.

The 16-track album also features popular acts such as WizKid, Kali Uchis, Charlie Wilson, and more. The project is also accompanied by a short film titled Love Sick: The Short Film, released on Prime the same day as the album release.

Don Toliver Makes A “Private Landing” With Justin Bieber & Future On New “Love Sick” Album

Since 2018’s Donny Womack project, Don Toliver has come an undeniably long way. Two years later he gave us Heaven Or Hell, and in 2021 we heard Life of a DON for the first time. The 28-year-old’s musical range only continues to expand with age and practice, which explains why his most recent arrival, Love Sick is by far his most ambitious to date. The 16-track effort arrived at midnight on Friday (February 24), boasting an impressive roster of guest features from friends.

The Houston native teamed up with Lil Durk and GloRilla for the previously released “Leave The Club,” and his girlfriend, Kali Uchis, joins him on the sensual “4 Me” single. James Blake, Wizkid, Brent Faiyaz, and Toro y Moi all came through as well, though the real fan favourite so far is titled “Private Landing.” On the nearly four-minute-long title, Toliver works with Justin Bieber and Future.

Cardo, Omar Guetfa, Rob Bisel, and 206Derek have all been credited with the song’s production, while the trio of multi-talents handle the vocals. The “Drugs N Hella Melodies” artist begins with the chorus and a first verse with bars about poppin’ at the Ritz and being in bed with a super soaker. Afterward, it’s the Atlanta native’s time to shine.

“Tiffany come blue, her p*ssy good and pink / Chicago in the wintertime, I’m orderin’ minks,” is just one of his clever rhymes. “Sellin’ out arenas, I just murked the streets / Coppin’ a brand new castle in the Middle East.” For Bieber’s part, he mostly shows off his coveted vocal skills on the bridge with Toliver before reminding listeners that he’s got some rap skills in his arsenal as well.

Justin Bieber And Kodak Black Were Hit With A Lawsuit Over A West Hollywood Shooting

Justin Bieber and Kodak Black are among those that have been named in a lawsuit stemming from an incident last year— following a Super Bowl party in West Hollywood— that left two people shot. The entertainers, along with the city of LA, have been accused of negligence, Deadline reports. The shooting allegedly took place after a private concert Bieber held for a few A-listers at The Nice Guy, a restaurant and event venue in LA.

According to reports, two men claim they were shot and severely injured during a February 2022 shooting incident outside The Nice Guy following the party. The suit primarily places the blame on Kodak, who reportedly instigated the shooting while he was exiting the venue. Notable attorney Gloria Allred is representing the alleged victims.

The lawsuit also named several others, including The Nice Guy restaurant, where the party was held; hospitality company The Hwood Group; the Revolve Group, an online fashion and lifestyle company; as well as the City of Los Angeles, the City of West Hollywood, and Los Angeles County.

Footage recently caught by TMZ shows the events leading up to the shooting. The “Tunnel Vision” rapper was spotted exiting the venue with an entourage, along with Lil Baby and Gunna. The trio met with fans outside to sign autographs and take photos before a fistfight broke out nearby, spilling out into the street. At least 10 Gunshots could be heard moments later, causing a flurry of madness among the attendees and fans.

Justin Bieber Sells Music Catalog to Hipgnosis Songs Capitol for Reported $200M

DJ Khaled Drops 'POPSTAR' Video Featuring Drake and Justin Bieber

Back up the Brinks truck to Justin Bieber’s house. Justin Bieber has sold his career-spanning catalog to Hipgnosis Songs Capital. The number reportedly is bringing back a whopping nine figures.

Hignosis has announced the acquisition of 100% of Bieber’s Publishing Rights, Master Recordings, and Neighboring Rights for his entire catalog for over 290 titles through Dec. 31, 2021.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the Hipgnosis/Bieber deal is worth around $200 million. Future releases from Bieber will still be under Universal Music Group.

“I want to thank Merck and his entire Hipgnosis team and all of our partners involved for working so hard to make this historic deal happen,” Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun said in a statement. “When Justin made the decision to make a catalog deal, we quickly found the best partner to preserve and grow this amazing legacy was Merck and Hipgnosis. For 15 years I have been grateful to witness this journey and today I am happy for all those involved. Justin’s greatness is just beginning.”

Merck Mercuriadis, founder and CEO of Hipgnosis Song Management, added: “The impact of Justin Bieber on global culture over the last 14 years has truly been remarkable. This acquisition ranks among the biggest deals ever made for an artist under the age of 70, such is the power of this incredible catalog that has almost 82 million monthly listeners and over 30 billion streams on Spotify alone. Scooter Braun has helped him build a magnificent catalog, and it’s a pleasure to welcome Justin and his incredible songs and recordings to the Hipgnosis family.”

Justin Bieber’s Music Catalog Sells For Over $200 Million

In the years since he first rose to fame as a young boy singing covers on YouTube, Justin Bieber has gifted his fans with an expansive listening library. It all began in 2009 with his My World EP. Afterward, the Canadian creative satisfied the masses with releases like Journals, Believe, and most recently, Justice.

In recent months, there have been talks of the 28-year-old signing a huge deal. This would include handing his music catalog off to another entity. Last month, rumours said the singer could potentially earn $200M if both parties agree.

On Tuesday (January 24), Variety shared that Bieber actually made slightly upwards of the aforementioned price in his contract with Hipgnosis Songs Capital. Over 290 titles were a part of the deal, all of them released prior to December 31, 2023. At this time, his songs will continue to be administered by Universal Music, and UMG will own his master recordings.

Scooter Braun, the “One Time” hitmaker’s longtime manager gave a statement on the massive transaction. “I want to thank Merck and his entire Hipgnosis team and all of our partners involved for working so hard to make this historic deal happen. When Justin made the decision to make a catalog deal, we quickly found the best partner to preserve and grow this amazing legacy was Merck and Hipgnosis.”

“For 15 years I have been grateful to witness this journey and today I am happy for all those involved. Justin’s greatness is just beginning,” he continued.

Things on Bieber’s front have been relatively quiet as of late. Fans were concerned when he once again postponed the final dates of his Justice tour. It was previously scheduled to launch in 2020, and still hasn’t been finished by 2023.

Initially, the Drew founder was faced with delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Eventually, he began rescheduling due to a battle with Ramsay Hunt syndrome which left his face paralyzed.

Bieber’s catalog deal is certainly a major bragging right, but he’s not the only artist making major money moves lately. Before launching her OnlyFans page and bringing in serious cash there, Iggy Azalea also sold her collection of songs in an impressive eight-figure deal.

These Were 2022’s Most-Streamed Songs Across All Platforms

Last year was full of great songs. Many acts returned with long-awaited new material, from hitmakers Beyonce and Blackpink to indie bands Alvvays and Big Thief. Records were broken by pop powerhouses such as Harry Styles with Harry’s House and Taylor Swift with Midnights.

Today, January 11, the Billboard Charts Twitter account shared the most-streamed songs across all platforms. Coming in at No. 1 is “Industry Baby” by Lil Nas X featuring Jack Harlow with 877.2 million streams. Following is Styles’ “As It Was” with 763.4 million. Then, there’s the Glass Animals hit “Heat Waves,” which was revived after being released in 2020, followed by “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from the film Encanto.

At No. 5 is “Enemy” by Imagine Dragons and JID, followed by Justin Bieber and The Kid Laroi’s “Stay.” Kodak Black’s “Super Gremlin” is at No. 7. Future, Drake, and Tems take No. 8 with “Wait For U.” “Me Porto Bonito” by Bad Bunny and Chencho Corleone follow, and finally Bad Bunny takes the next spot as well with “Titi Me Pregunto.”

It’s no surprise Bad Bunny takes up two spots on this list — “Spotify Wrapped” deemed him the world’s most-streamed artist of last year. Meanwhile, he also got a nod from Apple Music, who named him their 2022 Artist Of The Year.
