Juicy J wants to know what’s happening with rap music and the sales. Hitting Instagram, Juicy J is calling for a meeting to figure it out.
“Rap music is down 40%. Check the charts. Check the math. I don’t make the rules,” he said. “What are we, as rappers, producers, composers, going to do about this shit? Because it’s down 40% this year. Do your research. This is a fact.”
He added, “Let’s have a meeting, let’s meet up somewhere and have a big ass fucking meeting. Let’s talk about this shit, how we can turn this shit around. Because this is how we eat. This is how we make money.”

On Tuesday, September 12th, Juicy J hosted an exclusive book signing at Barnes & Noble inside The Grove in Los Angeles, California. At 7pm, fans were eager to line up to get a chance to meet the “Bandz A Make Her Dance” rapper, even purchasing the book with the intention of getting it signed by Juicy J himself.

During the event, Juicy J also revealed that him and Logic have a forthcoming album in the works. While the two have worked together in the past, sharing an undeniable bond and friendship, this is the first time we’re hearing of a collaborative project.

Megan Thee Stallion has found herself in and out of the spotlight all 2023 as she continues to heal from the trauma of her shooting incident with Tory Lanez, not to mention the hate and drama that came afterward. It wasn’t until late 2022 that the Canadian was found guilty. Following that announcement, the Houston native spent the first few months of this year focusing on her mental health. We saw more of her face and body-ody-ody throughout the spring and summer, but ahead of Lanez’s long-awaited sentencing, Thee Stallion slowly started to distance herself from the public again.
It seems this weekend was when she finally felt ready to hit the town once again, even linking up with another Southern rap superstar to take part in a viral TikTok challenge. Late on Saturday (August 26) evening, a new video went up on her account, showing Megan and friends performing choreography to Three 6 Mafia’s “Half On a Sack.” Seconds before the video comes to an end, Juicy J slides into the frame, proudly rapping along to his famous hip-hop group’s fan-favourite track.

There are so many influential rap acts across the genre. From Migos, to Outkast, Griselda, Black Hippy, the list can go on forever. However, it would be a disservice to not recognize Three 6 Mafia and put them in that conversation as icons in the rap group sphere. From classics such as “Slob On My Nob,” and others, it is hard to deny their cultural impact in hip-hop. The Memphis rap scene has so much to offer, and Juicy J, along with the Mafia, are possibly the biggest names from there.
Besides the names associated with Three 6 Mafia, their hits have been sampled and interpolated throughout so many rappers’ songs. For example, A$AP Ferg references “Slob On My Nob” in his hit song, “Plain Jane.” On the chorus, Ferg raps in a similar flow and borrows some lyrics, “Ride with the mob, Alhamdulillah

Denzel Curry has delighted fans with the release of his latest single, “BLOOD ON MY NIKEZ,” featuring a collaboration with the legendary Juicy J. The song was highly anticipated, especially after Denzel had teased his verse in the Omar Jones-directed music video released last week.

Just over a year after breaking through with her viral hit single, “FNF (Let’s Go),” GloRilla has another summer hit on her hands. On her latest single, “Lick Or Sum,” the new Memphis rap princess channels her fellow Memphis natives Three 6 Mafia over a trippy beat sampling the group’s hit track, “Slob On My Knob.”
On the track, Glo takes charge in the sex game, laying down the laws and delivering scandalous commands.
“Lookin’ like a lick or sum’ / Come and take a lick or sum’ / P*ssy bussin’ like a blick or sum’ / Come here, now let me get some d*ck or sum’,” she raps on the song’s chorus, which contains probably the most printable lyrics of the song.
In the song’s video, she is seen twerking with her girls, dancing in the streets and on the hoods of cars, and also in a salon, where she passes on words of wisdom to other women. Fellow rappers Sexyy Red and Yung Miami make cameos in the video.
Last year proved to be big for Glo, with her viral hits “FNF (Let’s Go)” and the equally catchy “Tomorrow 2.” With “Lick Or Sum,” she’s sure to kill the game with another summer banger.

On the 18-track project, the Memphis native works with a handful of collaborators, including Finesse2tymes, Xavier Wulf, and La Chat. Another artist, Aleza, appears on two titles – “Ain’t Cool” and “No Rapper” with Slimeroni and K Carbon. Additionally, Juicy J paid tribute to the late Gangsta Boo with a posthumous feature on the second last title, “Follow Home Robbers.” While her verse isn’t actually new (it originally appeared on 2014’s “Come Off Dat”) it’s still a thoughtful way for the 47-year-old to remember his friend.
As TMZ notes, the producer snuck another shoutout to his fallen Three 6 Mafia teammate into “Work Out,” his joint effort with Finesse. Landing on the tracklist ahead of “Follow Home Robbers,” Juicy J samples Gangsta Boo’s “Where Dem Dollas At” only the quickly emerging fan favourite. As you may recall, the female rap legend tragically lost her life on New Year’s Day after an evening of partying. Her believed cause of death is a drug overdose, marking yet another talented artist taken too soon due to substance abuse.
