Does Meek Mill Have A Podcast Deal?

For years, Meek Mill has been the voice of the streets. The “Shaq & Kobe” rapper has used his time in the booth to shed light on the issues plaguing his hometown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. But in recent times, he’s taken his advocacy out of the booth and into the political sphere (see his influence in the state’s Probation Reform Bill).

Now, Meek appears to be gearing up to expand his voice with a formal podcast. Continue below for more information.

Does Meek Mill Have A Podcast Deal?

Long story short, the answer is no. Well, at least not one that he’s willing to sign. On March 16, Meek put the bug out there on his official X (formerly Twitter) page. “I want a podcast deal. I have a lot to say on many different levels,” he wrote. “If you have a podcast business moving slowly, I can reverse that! I’ve always been my own media, and I wanna join the culture of black media!”

Immediately after Meek announced his interest, his foe Akademiks chimed in. Instead of trolling as usual, Akademiks offered Meek a one-million-dollar production deal through his company. However, Meek quickly shot it down.

“Not like a finance podcast deal thing, LOL,” he wrote. “I hang around all billionaires, and I’m caked up… You streaming for your chair getting drunk … I’m changing laws and stopping major hood beefs and trying to uplift the culture!”

If Akademiks is willing to throw up seven figures to fund Meek, we’re sure another company will place their bid soon enough. As of today (March 17), this venture is just a dream. But Meek has already shared the working name and mission of the audio project.

Cadance Owens Calls Lizzo “Problematic” And Accuses Her Of Gaslighting

As part of her interview with Joe Budden, Candace Owens called out Lizzo for gaslighting people. Owens’ issues with Lizzo stem from the response to Lizzo twerking her bare backside at an NBA game. Owens said she had the right to call out Lizzo’s behavior as “problematic”. However, she felt “gaslit” when Lizzo defended herself by saying that it was a “you problem” if you took issue with her behavior.

Of course, Lizzo twerking at an NBA game is the least of her “problematic” behaviors. After all, the singer is currently fighting a fairly nasty sexual harassment lawsuit. Furthermore, Owens is sort of the queen of telling people that their opposing viewpoints are “their problem”.

Candace Owens Claims The US Education System Is Responsible For The Decline Of Rap Music

However, Lizzo wasn’t the only musician Owens went after. Owens blamed the US education system for the decline of rap music, citing Ice Spice‘s “Think U The Sh-t (Fart)” as an example. “I just don’t need to hear about Ice Spice’s farts, I just don’t. I don’t want to hear about it. We used to produce really good music and it’s gone down the drain. I think even that is international. I think it’s because it’s a part of the, ‘Let’s slowly make it modify the education systems so that Black people can’t read and, at the same time, feed them with a pipeline of garbage,’ and you will wake up one day, and what surrounds you will be garbage,” Owens declared.

Owens might want to sit this one out, given her support for PragerU, a right-wing “educational” platform infamous for its wild propaganda-ized and inaccurate videos. However, it’s not the first time Owens has gone after that specific Spice track. “If you’re wondering whether or not it’s a good song, what do you think? It’s called “Think U The Sh-t (Fart)”. Now I think we can all admit that we’ve fallen as a society. I mean, I wouldn’t say that was Mozart or Beethoven, but I’m not all of these mainstream media publications that routinely run to defend this kind of music similar to what they did with ‘WAP’ the most disgusting and filthiest lyrics I’ve ever read. They will then sit down and write an article trying to convince you that what you just heard was magical and they did this with this Ice Spice song,” Owens ranted.

Candace Owens Hilariously Dissed By Interior Decorator

However, Owens is not exactly known for her good taste. Last year, Owens and her husband were making inquiries about the renovation of their home in Nashville. According to Owens, one of the inquiries was to David Netto. Netto, a well-regarded interior described by Architectural Digest as a “true designer’s designer”, is known for his stylish, upmarket designs. His work can be found in luxury homes and apartments across the US. He is also something an interior design rebel, having dropped out of Harvard to found his own studio in 2000. Per his website bio, Netto’s work is “known for trying to bring to modernism a touch of warmth and personality, and to traditionalism young energy and a dash of the exotic.”

Owens claimed that her husband sent a “very polite” inquiry by email. Unfortunately, it appears Netto was apparently well aware of the couple’s reputation. “Dear George, thank you for your inquiry. I’d rather be hit in the ass with a wooden plank than ever go near either of you. Kind regards, David,” Netto wrote in response. Owens has publicly stated that she does not believe racism exists. Furthermore, her husband, who Netto corresponded with, is white. Despite these facts, Owens made very specific claims while voicing her disapproval. Owens argued that Netto would likely not have spoken the same way to a Black liberal.

Joe Budden Claims Nicki Minaj & Cardi B Shift Release Dates To Compete

Nicki Minaj and Cardi B have been fighting for the throne of female rap for years now. Wherever you fall on that debate, you might think that the conversation is over already in either’s favor, but you can’t deny that it could all change quickly in the public eye. However, the recent drops of Pink Friday 2 a few months ago and the brand new “Like What” freestyle (and “Bongos” with Megan Thee Stallion a couple of months before the Barbz’s 2023 fav) have respectively reopened a conversation around how they tend to drop around the same time. Moreover, The Joe Budden Podcast recently weighed in on this, and its titular host thinks that this has been a long-running phenomenon.

“Whenever Cardi was trying to drop, Nicki was trying to drop,” Joe Budden told his co-hosts. “And that’s why Nicki kept changing dates. Don’t quote me on nothing [sorry, Joe]. But Nicki changed that date, like, five times trying to match up with whenever Cardi was dropping. And that was supposed to be the big… I mean, just as consumers looking at it, that was supposed to be the 50 [and] Kanye. And that, I feel like, would have helped Cardi. Nicki, I think, was gonna sell whatever she was gonna sell regardless. But Cardi, I think, would’ve gotten a big boost and just catapult from that marketing.

Joe Budden Speaks On Nicki Minaj & Cardi B Dropping Around The Same Time

“It didn’t happen, and then Nicki dropped,” Joe Budden continued. “I ain’t spoke to nobody up there in Atlantic, but I think Cardi backed out of that. I think she ran from that. And now we about to be in March, spring, summer, year six! It’s year six. I think a lot of these girl rappers are going through City Girls drama and keeping it low. I just mean, where the branding is louder than everything else.

Meanwhile, what do you think about this debate? What about Budden’s thoughts on other debates such as the current Big Three rankings for 2010s hip-hop between Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, and Drake? However you may feel, drop your thoughts in the comments section down below. For more news and the latest updates on Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, and Joe Budden, stay posted on HNHH.

Joe Budden Thinks Cardi B’s New Single Marks The End Of The Female Rap Wave

The titular host of The Joe Budden Podcast launched a scorching take on the latest episode of the program concerning Cardi B’s new single, “Like What (Freestyle).” However, the part that social media is reacting the most heavily to doesn’t even have much to do with the actual song itself. For the record, the rapper and media personality thinks that the record is a cool one, although he expressed as such in a slightly backhanded way. But the part that really prompted heated fan debate is his assessment that the “girl rapper wave” is over, which is obviously tough to imagine.

“Y’all ain’t gonna want to hear it from me, but the girl rapper wave is over,” Joe Budden remarked on the show after he and his colleagues played “Like What (Freestyle).” “All of that ‘Go find a girl, send her to Columbia, get it done, put her in the studio with f***ing [Mike WiLL Made-It] or any one of them n***as.’ All that planting the girl in the scene, getting the record and it taking off, that wave is over.”

Not only that, but the Slaughterhouse MC also posited that record labels aren’t getting their investments back on femcees. While there wasn’t really any data or analysis offered to back this up, he did separately bring up the long wait for Cardi B’s sophomore album, which one could interpret as an example of this. “I think the Cardi freestyle is cool,” Joe Budden conceded. “I mean, I’m gonna think it’s cool. Because anybody’s gonna sound good over the ‘She’s A B***h’ beat.”

Meanwhile, it’s understandable to think that some female artists in rap didn’t capitalize on their hype, but can’t we say that across any demographic? The wave that the media personality is specifically referencing, though, has been around for quite some time. As such, it’s up to these femcees, whether superstars or on the rise, to define the next era. Considering all the talent floating around right now, we can’t wait for what’s in store. Joe Budden Believes J. Cole Is Better Than Kendrick Lamar & Drake Right Now

During the latest episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, its titular host reopened the principal debate when it comes to the 2010s’ hip-hop greats. Moreover, he and his colleagues reacted to the new J. Cole snippet teasing the arrival of his highly anticipated next album, The Fall Off. Overall, they were very receptive to the Dreamville MC’s sharp bars, classy production, and the excitement he’s generating with this rollout. In fact, Budden thinks that the North Carolina native surpassed his “Big Three” companions Drake and Kendrick Lamar when it comes to who is the best rapper right now.

“I got Cole as my one,” Joe Budden shared on the latest episode of his show. “I’m hoping that Kendrick’s next album could try to fix that for me. Drake is doing his Chuck E. Cheese s**t. Good for him. That’s it now. Yeah, that’s it.” As such, he’s still keeping the door open on this debate for the near future. After all, one amazing album from any of the three has the potential to shift this long-running conversation in their favor, and folks still crown them as the top dogs when looking at the complete hip-hop package.

Joe Budden Crowns J. Cole As Current Head Of The “Big Three” 2010s Debate: Watch

“Remember when Kendrick dropped the title of the last s**t and we were trying to figure out what that meant?” Joe Budden continued. “When I heard The Fall Off and with him hinting at maybe retirement, I thought that would be the marriage between concept and title. But after watching some of these vlog clips where he’s just in the restaurant talking to the older lady that doesn’t know who he is? Classic J. Cole. Perfect rollout s**t again. This n***a’s the best at this.

“And he’s looking like he’s even uncomfortable having to try to explain who he is to her and she’s just talking about the state of the economy,” he concluded. “Dawg, if this n***a starts tying in The Fall Off with all of this s**t? Get him outta here. We know he can. We know he’s a man of the people. You know for however many years, he’s just been talking to people like humans. From everywhere. Yo, The Fall Off, if that’s The Fall Off? Oh, he is a sicko. We’ll see.” Drop your thoughts on this take in the comments section down below. Also, for the latest news and updates on Joe Budden, J. Did Joe Budden Or Ja Rule Have The Better “It Up” Song? Fans Debate

Joe Budden and Ja Rule were two big figures in 2000s East Coast hip-hop, and they really represent the era in hindsight. Of course, the latter was certainly more commercially successful than the former, but they still inhabit rap culture today as emblematic rappers of the time. Thanks to a new post on the Joe Budden TV community on social media around Tuesday (February 20), fans of both are now debating which one had the better hit with “It Up” in the title. What wins: Budden’s 2003 cut “Pump It Up” or Rule’s 2001 record “Livin’ It Up”? Moreover, fans seem split on the decision, and there was plenty of appreciation for both.

“Depends on the crowd,” one fan shared in the Joe Budden and Ja Rule debate. “Pump it up hit on the dance floor but any other setting living it up get all ages moving.” “Joe got it on this one (comfortably I might add) but man did Ja have a run,” another conceded. “stop playin on Joe’s name lol. pump it up was/is WAY better,” a user argued, with a big Ja fan adding: “Dawg you must’ve forgot the living it up hook vocals + the beat.” Check out some more reactions and arguments in the comments of the post below.

Joe Budden’s “Pump It Up” Or Ja Rule’s “Livin’ It Up”? Fans Debate Under Post Below

In other news, Ja Rule recently reflected on how he kind of regrets taking a break from music ahead of his comeback album. “Damn sitting here listening to my new album 12 songs in, it’s making me a lil sad I should’ve never stopped making music. I’m SORRY… #CWWTST.” We wonder if Joe Budden shared this sentiment when it comes to his own career, but considering his wide media success and notoriety these days, it’s probably not such a big regret.

Speaking of which, the former Everyday Struggle host is still going strong with his podcast. On he and his crew’s latest episode, they reviewed Vultures, the first in a supposed series of collaborative albums from Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign. Regardless of that, let us know where you fall on the “Pump It Up” and “Livin’ It Up” debate in the comments section down below. Also, log back into HNHH for more news and the latest updates on Ja Rule and Joe Budden.

Joe Budden Thinks Kanye West Fumbled On “Vultures” Despite Other Praises

Everybody’s got something to say about Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s new collaborative album Vultures. As such, it’s no surprise that one of the most popular and wide-reaching voices in hip-hop culture right now has a hot take for the masses. Moreover, The Joe Budden Podcast recently reviewed the project on their latest episode, with its main host expressing that he overall likes the LP. Specifically, he had great things to say about the production and many of the duo’s featured guests on this supposed series’ first installment. But the biggest problem that the Slaughterhouse MC had with Vultures is none other than the Chicago creative behind it.

“This is some bad rapping on here,” Joe Budden shared with his show’s co-hosts. “I’m only talking about Kanye West. Freddie Gibbs went cr*zy. All the rappers I heard went cr*zy, except for Kanye West… He’s just chanting.” Elsewhere, he added some loose thoughts on a few moments here and there, remarking that some of Vultures‘ cuts are “a little too funky” and “too Yeezus-ish,” in his opinion. Still, the New York MC had some praise for the production overall, and for other specific guest appearances.

The Joe Budden Podcast Reviews Vultures: Watch

“He showed his a** on the production,” Joe Budden posited. “His production is unbelievable on here. ‘CARNIVAL’ on down is nuts… I’m still a little thot inside. Dawg, what a creative flip of ‘Back That Azz Up’ [on ‘DO IT’]. I need to hear this in the strip club loud. I absolutely love [‘BEG FORGIVENESS’], I don’t care that this beat stays the same. This is cr*zy.” Although there are certainly many admirable qualities about Vultures, it’s hard to deny that Kanye West is not as consistent as he’s been on past releases when it comes to his own performances. This isn’t even accounting for how much you condemn or ignore his recent controversial behavior concerning antisemitism, the far right, and his peers.

Meanwhile, Vultures resulted in a big payout for Ye and Ty Dolla, so all this discussion probably means little to them. They dropped this independently and likely plan on dominating as much as they can through this method. We’ll see whether this results in an uptick in quality, or if Joe’s take on Vultures 2 will be harsher. To find out, stay up to date on HNHH for the latest on Kanye West, Ty Dolla Sign, and Joe Budden.

Candace Owens is someone who wields a decent amount of power when it comes to the political commentary space. Overall, she is a conservative who has been at the forefront of controversy due to her comments on the black community. Furthermore, she works alongside Ben Shapiro, which has only helped increase her profile in the conservative media space. In the past few months, she has been delving deeper into her problems with hip-hop, which has led to commentary on Ice Spice, and even HotNewHipHop.

The Joe Budden Podcast is massive, and he continues to speak his mind on a myriad of issues. Well, on his latest episode, he extended an invitation to Owens.
