Jennifer Lopez Looks Prepared To Kill In Her Posters For Netflix’s ‘The Mother’

Jane Fonda shared on The Drew Barrymore Show last month that Jennifer Lopez accidentally cut her eyebrow with her diamond ring during the slap scene in Monster-In-Law — an entry in the Early 2000s J. Lo Romantic Comedies canon.

Lopez looks capable of doing much more than that in the official posters for The Mother, her forthcoming Netflix film. The photos were shot by Annie Leibovitz.

“Happy Monday!!! Here are the new posters for my upcoming film THE MOTHER. Only on @Netflix May 12. (PS trailer drops tomorrow!!!!),” Lopez tweeted today, April 10.

Directed by Niki Caro, The Mother‘s official teaser dropped last September. “A deadly female assassin comes out of hiding to protect the daughter that she gave up years before, while on the run from dangerous men,” the description teases.

The intense one-minute clip finds Lopez training in the snowy woods, driving with reckless abandon down a crowded street, and shooting guns. “You saw what was out there,” she says, presumably to her on-screen daughter. “It’s gonna keep coming. If there’s trouble, come find me.”

The Mother also stars Joseph Fiennes, Lucy Paez, Omari Hardwick, Paul Raci, and Gael Garcia Bernal and will stream on Netflix beginning on 5/12.

Jennifer Lopez Actually Cut Jane Fonda’s Face During ‘Monster-In-Law’ Slap Scene: ‘She’s Never Apologized’

Ben Affleck may get a lot of flack for his grumpy face, but according to Jane Fonda, it’s Jennifer Lopez that the public should be worried about. During the legendary actress’ appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show alongside her 80 For Brady co-star Lily Tomlin, she dished about her time working with the singer on the 2005 film Monster-In-Law.

As host Barrymore asked the pair about their memories of some of their most beloved characters when Fonda was asked about Monster-In-Law, of course, the infamous slap scene took center stage. “The thing that comes to mind right away is we have a slapping scene – I slap her, she slaps me,” said Fonda.

But as Fonda continued, things got a bit more interesting, “Well, Jennifer, as per Jennifer, she had this enormous diamond ring, and so when she slapped me one of the times, it cut open across my eye – my eyebrow,” and as the in-studio audience gasped she added, “And, she’s never apologized.”

TikToker users may add this story to their ongoing list of reasons not to like the star, but clearly, the interaction didn’t leave the pair with any bad blood. Especially given the fact that Fonda attended and was named by Lopez as one of her role models during her speech as she unveiled her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2013.

Celebrities are often followed by the paparazzi, but few have cameras pointed so squarely at them, like Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez. The couple has a decades-long history, and after marriages, children, and divorce on both ends, they found their way back together. Some view this as a romantic story unlike any other, while critics pick apart their every move. Affleck and Lopez have wed once again, and now that they’re enjoying wedded bliss, they have welcomed even more attention.

An example would be the two at this year’s Grammy Awards. During the ceremony, cameras panned over to Bennifer, who was at their table having a private moment. The two were whispering to one another, and to viewers, the conversation looked tense. Not to mention, Affleck was trolled over, seemingly looking unhappy and bored at the coveted event. The actor laid speculation to rest in a feature with The Hollywood Reporter. “No. I had a good time at the Grammys,” he revealed.

“My wife was going, and I thought, ‘Well, there’ll be good music. It might be fun.’ At movie award shows, it’s speeches and, like, sound-mixing webinars. But I thought this would be fun.” However, Affleck’s blood pressure rose when Grammys host Trevor Noah came near their table for a segment. “I saw [Trevor] and I was like, ‘Oh, God.’ They were framing us in this shot, but I didn’t know they were rolling,” Affleck added. “I leaned into her, and I was like, ‘As soon they start rolling, I’m going to slide away from you and leave you sitting next to Trevor.’ She goes, ‘You better f*cking not leave.’ That’s a husband-and-wife thing.”

The Oscar winner also admitted that when it comes to the music industry, he doesn’t really know who’s who. He asks Lopez to keep him up to date because she’s well aware. “And yeah, it is your wife’s work event. And I’ve gone to events and been pissed off. I’ve gone and been bored. I’ve gone to award shows and been drunk, a bunch. Nobody ever once said I’m drunk. [But at the Grammys] they were like, ‘He’s drunk.’ And I thought, that’s interesting.”

A Road To Recovery

Affleck has been open about his recovery and battling alcoholism. “That raises a whole other thing about whether or not it’s wise to acknowledge addiction because there’s a lot of compassion, but there is still a tremendous stigma, which is often quite inhibiting.” The actor believes that accusing a person in recovery of simply being drunk “disincentivizes” people from being open about their journeys. Jennifer Lopez & Ben Affleck Show Off “Commitment” With Valentine’s Day Tattoos

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck demonstrated their “commitment” to one another by getting matching tattoos on Valentine’s Day. Lopez shared pictures of their new ink in a post on Instagram from Tuesday. The artwork displays an infinity sign with both of their names written in cursive through it. On the holiday, the married couple got dinner together at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica.

“Commitment. Happy Valentine’s Day my love. (Look for more deets on VDay coming #OnTheJLo soon…)” Lopez captioned a series of photos. The pictures include images of the tattoos as well as photos of the two of them vacationing together.

A number of celebrities commented on the romantic post. Keke Palmer wrote: “Gon’ head girl.” Even the Dunkin’ Donuts account left several emojis. Affleck recently starred in a Super Bowl commercial for the fast food chain. The advertisement featured the actor working the drive-through window at a Medford, Massachusetts, Dunkin’ Donuts. After the piece aired, Affleck admitted to The Wall Street Journal that some of the unscripted interactions with customers did not go over well. “It’s Boston, after all, so we had some rather coarse and agitated people who were willing to voice their displeasure in a colorful way, and I’m still lobbying to include the most interesting of those in some of the edgiest social spots,” he told the outlet.

Lopez and Affleck married in at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas in July 2022. She reflected on the ceremony in her newsletter a few days later. “We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient….Last night, we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world,” Lopez wrote. She continued: “Behind us two men held hands and held each other. In front of us, a young couple who made the three hour drive from Victorville on their daughter’s second birthday—all of us wanting the same thing—for the world to recognize us as partners and to declare our love to the world through the ancient and nearly universal symbol of marriage.”

After searching for the perfect place to call home, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have finally settled on a stunning $34 million abode. The duo recently tied the knot back in July 2022, and have been on the hunt for a home to merge their two families. With 7 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms, there certainly is enough room for the two A-listers and their combined 5 children. This mansion resides in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles, which is historically known for housing well-known celebrities.

This Hamptons-influenced house covers an acre and boasts many flashy perks. Inside the mansion is a screen room, which is perfect for the two actors to preview their upcoming projects. This L.A. retreat also has its own in-home health spa, as well as a wine cellar. Yes, this place has it all. But, the real kicker is that JLo will actually be making money off of her move. Her current Bel-Air home is listed for $42.5 million, which is way more than when she bought it for $28 million in 2016.

2023 Is An Exciting Year For Jen & Ben

The couple was recently under the spotlight after their Grammy’s appearance, resulting in Affleck becoming a meme. Affleck was caught off guard several times on camera, and the internet couldn’t help but chuckle at his lackluster appearance. What makes matters worse is that the couple was caught in the middle of an argument while Trevor Noah was presenting. But, worry not. An inside source told Entertainment Tonight that Ben just had a long day of work. The source explained, “Jen had a great time and wanted Ben to be excited to be there, but she understood where he was coming from. Jen knows Ben is a great husband and they still made sure to have a good night together.”

Move over, Cardi B and Offset. You two aren’t the only beloved entertainment couple putting their love for one another, along with their love of fast food, on full display during Super Bowl LVII. Instead of a burger and fries at McDonald’s, Jennifer Lopez and her husband, Ben Affleck, lent their famous faces to the coffee company Dunkin’ Donuts.

Affleck is a notorious lover of the chain, having been spotted at several locations across the country. But during the commercial, he switches places. Rather than his usual role of customer, he is now a worker surprising drive-thru patrons… and the last of which is his singer and fellow actress wife, Jennifer Lopez.

The franchise quickly posted the commercial after airing during the Super Bowl onto their official Twitter page with the caption, “They say go big or go home, so Ben went big and came home to Massachusetts.” Lopez wasted no time in quote tweeting with her sole line from the commercial, “#GrabMeAGlazed.”

Lopez has sung all about her need to remain humble despite her fame. Whether she’s singing about how her love doesn’t cost a thing or how she’s still just “Jenny from the block,” she has proved it in this funny commercial.

As with any award show, the 2023 Grammys brought about plenty of hilarious celebrity moments earlier this week. Of course, the building was primarily filled by some of the biggest names in music across every genre. However, a certain actor in the building managed to keep the internet laughing thanks to his incredibly bored-looking expressions caught on camera all night long.

Though she didn’t receive any nominations herself, Jennifer Lopez was in attendance on Sunday (February 5) night. Her duty for the evening was to hand out one of the first prizes – for Best Pop Vocal Album. It ultimately went to AOTY Grammy winner, Harry Styles. At the ceremony, her husband, Ben Affleck, came through as her date. It didn’t take Twitter long to begin making memes about the Gone Girl actor’s lack of enthusiasm about being at the award show.

Many users think that the father of three and his wife were feuding. Others say he was upset with having to join her for a “work thing,” even if that “thing” was the Grammys. According to a TikToker who was filling a seat beside the couple, however, they were actually having a great time. Additionally, she says that Affleck knew about the memes as the show was unfolding in real-time.

“J.Lo showed Ben Affleck the phone and was like, ‘Oh my god, honey, look at this meme circulating about you,’” user @almostannna revealed in a recent video. “He was like, ‘Oh god this again.’” Over the years, the 50-year-old has previously become an internet joke on various occasions, namely while carrying Dunkin Donuts or smoking cigarettes.

“He knew during the performance that he was a meme. Like he knew, and he also chose just not to change his expression. I love how unbothered that is,” the TikToker joked with viewers. Later in the video, she confirmed that there was no obvious tension between the pair. Rather, she says they were “super lovey-dovey,” and held hands most of the time.

Affleck’s face was the centre of attention for much of the evening. Still, he and Lopez did leave before the Grammys concluded. At the time of their departure, he reportedly lifted the skirt of her dress a bit too high. As a result, she warned him by yelling out, “Honey!”

In other award show news, last month we wrote that J. Lo was originally going to join Madonna and Britney Spears onstage for their historic smooch in 2003. Unfortunately, the multi-talent was in Canada filming a movie at the time and couldn’t attend the MTV VMAs. Thankfully, another starlet of the time was up to the task.

“Dirrty” songstress Christina Aguilera was recruited to be Lopez’s replacement, though she’s since been vocal about feeling left out of the salacious scandal. At the time, the cameras cut away from her kiss with the Queen of Pop to catch Justin Timberlake’s reaction to his ex locking lips with her on live TV. One of the biggest celebrity weddings we witnessed in 2022 was undoubtedly between Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez. Two decades after previously ending their first engagement, the former lovers made their way back to each other. They tied the knot in a stunning Georgia ceremony, and since then, have been enjoying life together as newlyweds.

While the Gone Girl star works primarily in the film industry, his multi-talented wife dabbles in both acting and music. Seeing as she’s had a generally successful career as a singer, Lopez was invited to attend Sunday’s (February 5) Grammy Awards as a presenter. Much to the audience’s avail, her husband chiefly tagged along as her date for the evening.

The newlyweds didn’t walk the star-studded red carpet, but the Hustlers starlet did make her debut on stage early on. She handed out the first trophy of the night, specifically for Best Pop Vocal Album to Harry Styles and his Harry’s House effort. Unfortunately for Affleck, his wife obviously wasn’t able to leave after carrying out her role.

Several times throughout the undeniably lengthy award ceremony, cameras panned to the 50-year-old looking increasingly bored. Whether watching Stevie Wonder perform “Higher Ground,” or simply soaking in the presence of other celebrities, the look on his face reads as though he’d rather be anywhere else than at the Grammys.

Unsurprisingly, Twitter users are explicitly having a field day making memes of Affleck’s expression. Some pointed out that it’s sad to see him looking so miserable in the presence of his dream girl – especially now that he’s finally married her. Others, however, find it comedic that the father of three is so often caught on camera looking miserable.

“Ben Affleck is every introvert everywhere. You can see his batteries draining in real-time. Man is already at 23%,” one user later joked. Another person wrote, “Ben Affleck is every husband dragged to a work thing by his wife.” Furthermore, people expressed gratitude for the cameraman who kept eyes on the Argo actor throughout the night.

‘Miserable’ Ben Affleck Got Roasted For Looking Like He’d Rather Be Anyplace Else While Attending The Grammys

Sad Batman is back, y’all. One of the more fascinating parts of the past decade of pop culture is how Ben Affleck tends to look pretty “over it” most of the time. I think, maybe, that’s simply how his face is? It’s entirely possible. I’m similarly afflicted but fortunately do not have people scrutinizing my every move like Affleck, who gets meme’d every time he’s spotted carrying around Dunkin’ with a sad face. See, he loves Dunkin,’ so really, I think that is simply his resting expression.

Well, Ben brought that face to the Grammys, where he supported his new bride, JLo, which was all well and good, but boy, he seemingly wanted to be anywhere else. He looked completely uncomfortable while barely vibing to the music. The two have made clear that they are very much in love and have Gigli firmly in the rear view mirror, but people could not help but notice that Ben would probably rather be at home.

No matter how he actually felt, though, the verdict was pretty clear. The dude looked “miserable” and like he wanted to vanish into thin air.

Perhaps, this is simply the introvert coming out, so to speak? Yet also, he might have hated the entire evening. Severe battery drain coming at ya.
