Vivica A. Fox Says She Has Had No Communication with Jada Pinkett Smith After Commenting on Oscars Slap on TV

Vivica A. Fox Tests Positive for COVID-19

Vivica A. Fox is getting the cold shoulder from her Set It Off co-star Jada Pinkett Smith. According to PEOPLE, Fox revealed she has not heard from Pinkett Smith after she was critical of her remarks about the Oscars slap.

While on The Wendy Williams show, Fox stated Pinkett Smith didn’t take any accountability for the Oscars slap. “I just wish we could have just a little more accountability and for it to not seem so self-righteous on Jada’s part, and that’s my feelings,” Fox said, following Pinkett Smith first addressing the situation during Red Table Talk.

A couple of months later and Fox stated Jada Pinkett Smith is radio silent toward her. While at Great Wolf Lodge in California, Fox stated there has been no communication.

“I think they’re just really going through a season of healing right now,” Fox says. “Listen, I love Will Smith. He’s one of my favorite people on the planet. We all make mistakes. If there’s one person that deserves a second chance, it is him. I think he’s taken full accountability for his actions and he apologized.”

She added, “I just hope that we can all move forward from the incident and learned that it must never happen again, especially on that magnitude of a stage.”

For his part, Will Smith has moved on. After issuing a public apology to Chris Rock, Will Smith has returned to Instagram and even shared an image of a huge spider in one of his homes. Chris Rock seemingly has moved on as well.

Vivica A. Fox Says Jada Has Taken “No Accountability” For Will Smiths Oscar Slap

After nearly 3 months of silence from both Chris Rock and Will Smith regarding the slap heard across the world, many people have lost interest in the topic. It was interesting to talk about after the first couple of weeks but after a month went by and neither side addressed the situation, many thought that maybe everybody had just moved on from the incident.

Well, think again.

This past Wednesday Jada Pinkett Smith resurrected the conversation during an episode of the Red Table Talk where she talked about the situation in the episode focused on alopecia. Jada said that she and Will will continue to work toward “figuring out this thing called life together.”

Reaction to the episode was largely negative on social media, with many annoyed with Jada for bringing up a topic that many have moved past.

Among those who had an issue with Jada’s comments was Vivica A. Fox. Fox said that she believes there is a lack of accountability on Jada’s part in the situation. She says that the video she saw of Jada made her cry and shared what she thought a “good partner” would have done in that situation.

“This is going to be difficult for me. These are my peers. I’ve done a movie with both of them. Set It Off with Jada and Independence Day with Will Smith, which absolutely changed my life. When I saw this video last night, it made me cry.”

“Will Smith that night, as far as I was concerned, was going to be crowned this generation’s Sidney Poitier, which is a huge honor. I felt to be a good partner, there was no accountability. Will Smith was defending her honor. That was why—the reason he walked onstage and slapped—because he felt like his wife had been offended. So for me to see no accountability as a partner. … Also let’s not forget that Chris Rock was assaulted—we cannot forget that—for basically telling a joke that I really felt wasn’t that bad.”

Now about Oscar night, my deepest hope is that these two intelligent ,capable man have an opportunity to heal, talk this out, and reconcile. With the state of the world today, we need them both and we all actually need one another more than ever. Until then Will and I are continuing to do what we have done for the last 28 years- and that is to figure out this thing called life together.”

Pinkett-Smith then interviewed a variety of people who suffer from alopecia, letting them share their stories and struggles, including the parents of a 12-year-old girl who took her own life after being bullied for her condition.

She also used the show to educate people on alopecia including explaining how there are many kinds of alopecia. A doctor explained how most alopecia is an autoimmune disease that affects millions of people across all backgrounds.
