Rick Ross Calls Out Jada Pinkett Smith Over 2Pac Revelation: “Let Him Rest”

In a recent BET Talks interview, Rick Ross didn’t hold back. He addressed Jada Pinkett Smith’s recent comments about 2Pac’s battle with Alopecia, a condition she also shares. Ricky Rozay himself humorously put Smith on blast, emphasizing the need to let the rap legend rest in peace. Ross, while expressing his frustration with a touch of humor, struggled with the pronunciation of “Alopecia.” He made light of the situation by continuing his remarks: “At the end of the day, come on man, come on Jada. Let 2Pac rest in peace. Appaleesha — what did she say he got?”

Upon a correction from the host, Ross continued with a light-hearted tone, “Tell me what this is? But we ain’t need to know that. Dawg a legend. He been dead 30 years. Apaleesha? Alopecia.” In addition to his humorous take on the situation, the MMG mogul offered his own suggestion for Smith’s revelations, saying, “She should’ve told us a Will [Smith] story. Talk about your husband, baby. You married him. Tell us how you fell walking down the carpet one time and we ain’t know you ain’t have on no panties or something.”

Ross’s comments reflect a sentiment shared by many fans and fellow artists who believe that certain details about 2Pac’s personal life should be left in the past to honor his legacy. As the debate around the appropriate boundaries of discussing departed icons continues, Rick Ross adds his voice to those advocating for preserving the memory of the legendary rapper without unnecessary details. Moreover this isn’t the first time he’s said something about wanting Jada to remain quiet.

In an interview last month with Rolling Stone, the rapper didn’t hold back. He expressed sentiments about Jada’s book tour, and how he disapproved. “I don’t think I agree with Jada Pinkett,” he said. “To me, she’s psychologically lost and needs some counseling. Jesus! What are you going to tell us next? When you tell us you haven’t been together in six years, you haven’t had sex in this many years, you don’t have a prenuptial agreement — OK, what’s next?” Do you agree with Rick Ross on this subject? Jada Pinkett Smith Reveals Tupac’s Secret Battle with Alopecia

In an exclusive PEOPLE cover story, Jada Pinkett Smith sheds light on a hidden facet of the legendary rapper Tupac Shakur, revealing that he silently battled alopecia, an autoimmune disease causing unpredictable hair loss. The Emmy Award-winning actress speculates that had Shakur been alive today, he might have chosen to speak openly about his condition.

Shakur’s journey with alopecia mirrors Smith’s experience, with the onset of symptoms dating back to 1991, around the time of his arrest for jaywalking by the Oakland Police Department in California. Subsequently, Shakur pursued legal action against the police department, ultimately settling the matter.

Smith reflects, “After he was in Northern California with the police officers that beat him up, he started losing his hair. And his alopecia patterns were far more extreme than mine.” It’s a revelation that invites a new perspective on Shakur’s life and challenges.

Jada Pinkett Smith, an actress and talk show host, disclosed her alopecia diagnosis in 2018, becoming a notable advocate for alopecia awareness. She believes that Shakur’s silence about his alopecia was due to societal pressures of his time. “I don’t think Pac ever talked about his alopecia, but he also looked really good with a bald head. But that was during a time and during an era that you wouldn’t – he just wouldn’t talk about it.”

Jada Pinkett Smith Claims 2Pac Also Suffered From Alopecia

During a recent interview with PEOPLE, Jada Pinkett Smith reflected on her relationship with the late Tupac Shakur. According to the actress and talk show host, the two of them had plenty of things in common, including alopecia. She revealed that his condition was even more severe than her own, and began after a violent encounter with police.

The performer was arrested for jaywalking near the Oakland Police Department in California when things went south. The encounter led him to sue the department, and the case was later settled. “I don’t think Tupac ever talked about the alopecia he suffered from,” she described. “After he was in Northern California with the police officers that beat him up, he started losing his hair. And his alopecia patterns were far more extreme than mine.”

“I don’t think Pac ever talked about his alopecia, but he also looked really good with a bald head,” Smith adds. “But that was during a time and during an era that you wouldn’t — he just wouldn’t talk about it.” Smith has been an advocate for those suffering from alopecia since she went public with her condition in 2018. She believes that 2Pac would do the same if he had gotten the chance.

“I’m sure if [Shakur] were alive today, he would,” she shared. “I’m glad that I’ve had the opportunity and we’ll continue to have the opportunity to talk about how alopecia affects me,” Smith explains. “And I’m just hoping that it’ll give people the freedom to talk about how and just not have shame around it and not to have such a stigma. And there’s a lot of shame around alopecia.” What do you think of Jada Pinkett Smith revealing that 2Pac had alopecia too? Jada Pinkett Smith Shows Off Her Hair Growth Amid Alopecia Journey

Jada Pinkett Smith recently took to social media to share some selfies. The two selfies document the actress and talk show host’s hair growth amid her alopecia journey. She previously revealed that she was diagnosed with the condition in 2018, and has struggled with it ever since. It appears as though she’s done well at embracing it, however, stunning in her latest photos.

“This here hair is act’n like it’s try’n a make a come back [sic]. Still have some trouble spots but — we’ll see,” she wrote on her Instagram earlier this week. “Slide 1: Past. Slide 2: Present.” The first photo she shared features her sporting a close-shaven look. In the next slide, her hair is bleached, and appears a bit longer. As expected, fans rushed to her comments section to share their thoughts. One Instagram user notes that she looks “Radiantly beautiful through and through.”

Jada Pinkett Smith Reveals Her Hair Is Trying To Make A “Comeback”

In a previous episode of her show, Red Table Talk, Jada Pinkett Smith detailed the frightening experience of losing her hair. “It was terrifying when it first started. I was in the shower one day and had just handfuls of hair in my hands and I was just like, ‘Oh my God, am I going bald?’” She continued, “It was one of those times in my life where I was literally shaking in fear.”

Famously, Jada Pinkett Smith’s short hair also acted as the bud of one of Chris Rock’s jokes at the 2022 Oscars. He joked that the beauty would play “G.I. Jane,” leading to “the slap heard round the world.” Her husband, Will Smith, made his way to the stage and hit Rock in the face before returning to his seat. “Keep my wife’s name out of your f*cking mouth,” he repeatedly told Rock. For obvious reasons, the situation sparked a lot of controversy, but it also fortunately worked to shed light on alopecia.

Jada Pinkett Smith Reflects On Alopecia Diagnosis

The 2022 Oscars stirred up buzz after the Will Smith and Chris Rock scandal. The controversial face slap was publicly circulated, which drew a lot of attention to Jada Pinkett Smith. Suffering from alopecia, an auto-immune disorder that attacks hair follicles, Pinkett-Smith has lost her locks over recent years. But even though she’s constantly in the eyes of the camera, the 51-year-old actress isn’t letting superficial appearances stop her from sharing her beauty with the world.

In an interview with The Guardian, Pinkett Smith shares “I learned a lot about detachment. And I learned a deeper beauty within myself, being able to let my hair go.” She reflects further on her diagnosis calling it “a great teacher. It’s been a hard one, a scary one – because specifically as Black women, we identify so much of ourselves with our hair. And it was scary. I had to really dig deep and see the beauty of myself beyond my aesthetics.”

Jada Pinkett Smith On African Queens: Njinga

The Red Table Talk host certainly hasn’t let Alopecia take over her confidence and continues to empower herself and other women through her work. Her upcoming new documentary series African Queens: Njinga releases this month on Netflix. As the executive producer and narrator, Pinkett Smith explores the life of Queen Njinga of Angola. This series includes interviews with experts alongside historical reenactments and plans to showcase the lives of the most iconic female rulers in Africa. The multi-talented actress is also signed on for a memoir, which will publish this fall.

In light of the upcoming release of African Queens, the mother of two reflects on the power of black women. “In most Black families, the women are the glue. They’re the matriarchs, the weavers of love, the leaders of spiritual knowledge within our homes.” She also recounts the difficulties she has had as a black woman in the entertainment industry, but thanks her grandmother for her success. Pinkett Smith’s grandmother, who primarily raised her, had taught her from a young age to rise above, no matter what challenge may present itself. Despite all of the difficulties Pinkett Smith has faced, there’s no doubt that she has followed her grandmother’s teachings. Be sure to catch African Queens: Njinga airing on February 15th, 2022 on Netflix!

Jada Pinkett-Smith Addresses Oscar Slap on “Red Table Talk”

Jada Pinkett Smith

It’s been a few months since the “slap heard around the world,” and Jada Pinkett-Smith and her husband Will Smith have been fairly quiet about the incident until now. On Wednesday’s episode of her web series “Red Table Talk,” Pinkett-Smith addressed some of the controversy during an episode that centered around alopecia.

Pinkett-Smith opened by saying, “this is an important Red Table Talk on alopecia. Considering what I’ve been through with my own health and what happened at the Oscars, thousands have reached out to me with their stories. I’m using this moment to give our alopecia family an opportunity to talk about what it’s like to have this condition and to inform people about what alopecia actually is. Now about Oscar night, my deepest hope is that these two intelligent ,capable man have an opportunity to heal, talk this out, and reconcile. With the state of the world today, we need them both and we all actually need one another more than ever. Until then Will and I are continuing to do what we have done for the last 28 years- and that is to figure out this thing called life together.”

Pinkett-Smith then interviewed a variety of people who suffer from alopecia, letting them share their stories and struggles, including the parents of a 12-year-old girl who took her own life after being bullied for her condition.

She also used the show to educate people on alopecia including explaining how there are many kinds of alopecia. A doctor explained how most alopecia is an autoimmune disease that affects millions of people across all backgrounds.

She did not address the slap any further throughout the show.
