Drake Drops $10K A Minute After Performing Over Detroit Curfew: Report

Drake knows how to put on a show and he won’t let exterior factors, such as a curfew, from providing his fans with an incredible performance. With the launch of the It’s All A Blur tour, the Canadian rapper made a stop in Detroit for the second city on his North American run. While he and 21 Savage stunned the audience with performances of fan favorites, it appears as though they were running over time for whatever reason. Still, Drizzy ensured that his fans got their money worth, especially after shelling out hundreds of dollars to see him perform.

Just when Drake and 21 Savage got into the thick of their set together in Detroit, the “Search & Rescue” star confirmed that they went over the time restrictions. In fact, he revealed that it costs roughly $10,000 per minute beyond the city’s curfew. Still, the rapper didn’t sweat and opted to pay the fine rather than cut the performance short for his fans. According to All Hip Hop, Drake ultimately racked up a 6-figure fine.

Drake Exceeds Detroit Curfew

As the rapper stood in front of the audience in a red apron, alongside 21, he made it clear that the reported $230K fine that he had to cough up was pocket change to him. “It’s $10,000 a minute to stay in this building past curfew,” he told the audience. “I don’t give a f***. We’re doing this whole song, let’s go,” he added to a sea of applause from his Detroit fans. Concertgoers claimed that Drake performed for roughly 23 minutes after the curfew, which would amount to nearly a quarter of a million dollars.

Clearly, Drake’s love for Detroit is strong. The Canadian rapper’s performance in Motor City included a few updates on his forthcoming album, For All The Dogs. Drake confirmed a collaboration with Nicki Minaj would appear on the tracklist and he revealed that the project is currently in the mixing stages. Although it’s not clear when the project might hit DSPs, it seems as though Drake is still putting in work while he’s on the road.

Drake Dodges Fans’ Bras, Shoes, & More On Stage In Detroit

Fans at Drake’s latest stop on the It’s All a Blur Tour pelted the rapper with bras, shoes, and other personal belongings while on stage. The Toronto rapper was performing at Little Caesars Area in Detroit on both Saturday (July 8) and Sunday (July 9).

“Oh shit!” he said when one item flew at him. “This not what we wanna see, a big-ass shoe. This what I need you to do, Detroit, this what I need to you do, please, for me. I’m so grateful to be back in this building with you after all this time that we had to sit in the crib, right? Please stop throwing bras up here, I can’t — I feel like I’m on clean-up duty tonight… titty clean-up duty. This is cr*zy.”

It’s not the first time Drake has dealt with fans bombarding him with bras. In Chicago, last week, he deal with the same issue. “Oh yeah, this is definitely how I like it right here,” he said while inspecting one of the undergarments at the time. “Damn, shit. Some knocks — who’s is this by the way? This yours? 38DD, never let me down before. Nasty. Let’s see what we working with. Who threw this? That’s you. It looks like you threw this — 36DD — some knocks, I’m not gonna lie. By the way, we don’t discriminate, though. Shout out to the girls with the small titties. Shoutout to the girls with little booties, big booties, you know? All races, all faces, all places. Thank you. Yeah, this is worth it. It’s like eating in.”

Drake’s Tour “Hologram” Is Actually Just Some Dude

Drake is finally touring. After initially delaying the tour from June 16 to June 29, the tour was unexpectedly pushed back another week. The tour was originally meant to begin in Memphis but actually began in Chicago on July 5. No formal explanation was given as to why the tour kept being delayed. Drake seemingly ignored the delay, declaring that he had 21 Savage’s back if anyone tried to beef with the rapper.

Regardless, the tour is now very much underway. Drake has linked up with Chance The Rapper while in Chicago. Furthermore, he hilariously reacted to a bra being thrown onto stage while in Chicago. While weird, it definitely beat the phone that was thrown at him during the tour’s opening night. Now, people are being bamboozled by a prominent part of Drake’s set design.

As part of the show, Drake appears to interact with and perform alongside a younger version of himself. Many people assumed that this was some sort of hologram, primarily based on the uncanny resemblance they held to a young Drake. However, people should have realized that maybe it was not a hologram when it handed a physical book. Holograms are not able to create hard light constructs, at least in the year 2023. Furthermore, many people pointed out that if it was a hologram, it really looked nothing like a young Drake. “We watched Degrassi bffr Drake 😂,” noted one person on social media.

However, it was later revealed that it was in fact just some guy and not a hologram. Imagine being a real boy and you go viral for being Drake’s hologram 😂. A win is a win, but still…😂,” wrote one person on Instagram. “If you actually thought that was a hologram handing him a book… ain’t no lights on 😑,” chided another. 21 Savage Fan Rushes To Him For A Hug During Tour Stop With Drake

21 Savage and Drake are currently stunning North America on their “It’s All A Blur” tour, which just kicked off in Chicago. Of course, everyone with a ticket is incredibly excited to see these two stars live, and that translated into some wholesome entrance antics. Moreover, as the Atlanta trap artist made his way to the stage, walking through fans in the crowd, one diehard in particular shot her shot. When the camera moved past 21, a girl ran to him for a hug, and the rapper smiled in response, even moving his arm a little bit as if to reach out and return the favor. But that moment lasted for half a second, as his security guard gently pushed her away.

Many might see this as odd, but it was actually kind of a wholesome and harmless interaction, at least in execution. We don’t know how much 21 Savage appreciates interactions like those, but based on his reaction, he’s always down to receive some love and give it back, as well. With a setlist as stacked as this tour’s, it’s no wonder that so many fans scream every lyric and are ecstatic to witness it in person. 21 played classics like “Red Opps,” new hits like his feature on “Peaches & Eggplants,” and all-time bangers like “Don’t Come Out The House” in addition to a few songs with Drake.

21 Savage’s Fan Interaction

Speaking of his Drizzy collabs, apparently 21 Savage isn’t that big of a fan of memes surrounding “Rich Flex.” For those who forgot, the Her Loss cut lit the Internet up with Drake’s lines about asking 21 to do something for him. While on tour, as the Canadian superstar sings that hook, the “Umbrella” MC shakes his head and laughs in disbelief. If he’s tired of it, he’s got bad news ahead of him, or rather, over 50 more shows to go.

Meanwhile, the 30-year-old creative also takes a lot of time away from his superstardom to be with his community. For example, he hosted a children’s basketball camp in Atlanta for Father’s Day weekend, teaching them to play. His Leading By Example Foundation brought the event to life with other professional hoopers. For more news and the latest updates on 21 Savage, log back into HNHH.

Drake Dissed ‘Guys That Go Away’ For Years On His Tour And Fans Think It’s Directed At Kendrick Lamar

Drake has been using his It’s All A Blur Tour to revisit his past, talk Bio 101(?), and pay homage to fallen friends, but he’s also been using it to air some grievances. In addition to cheekily calling out Childish Gambino for admitting “This Is America” started life as a diss song, fans are convinced he also took a jab at frenemy Kendrick Lamar with a comment he made on stage during the opening night in Chicago.

According to HipHopDX, Drake took some time to address accusations that he releases too much music while announcing that he has another album coming out soon, saying, “I know it’s summertime, I gotta give you shit! I don’t know about these guys that go away for three, four, five years and wanna chill out and all that shit. That’s not me. With that being said, I got an album coming out soon for y’all. It’s called For All The Dogs.

Fans on Twitter took his comment to be a shot at Kendrick Lamar, who has become notorious for the long gaps between his releases — his most recent album, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, came out last year, nearly five years after its Pulitzer-winning predecessor, DAMN. Fans previously believe Kendrick had made a reference to Drake on his cousin Baby Keem’s recently released single “The Hillbillies,” borrowing the flow from Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind track “Sticky” and parodying it with silly lyrics.

However, while the duo has appeared to be circling around each other for years, there does seem to be some respect there, at least from Drake’s end. He was seen last summer attending Kendrick’s Big Steppers Tour stop in Toronto — although that could have just been an intelligence-gathering excursion, gathering “game film” on his rival, so to speak.

Subsequently, the tour will be heading to Detroit this weekend before touring all of North America. Overall, the first two nights have been a massive success. Tens of thousands of fans have come out for this tour. Moreover, they have been blessed with some of Drizzy’s biggest hits. Whenever he goes on tour, he performs a plethora of amazing songs, and that is not stopping now.

Yesterday, we reported on how Drake was the latest artist to have a phone thrown at him. Thankfully, the artist was not injured. Instead, he just played the whole thing off and kept it pushing. However, on Thursday night, he had something much different thrown at him. Below, you can see a video from the tour in which a woman threw her bra at the legendary artist. Of course, Drake noticed right away and decided to inspect the bra in front of thousands of fans.

Drake Has A Moment

“Let me see what you’re working with,” Drake joked upon picking up the bra. Who threw this? That’s you? 36 double D. That’s some knocks, I ain’t gon’ lie.” The entire crowd got quite a kick out of this interaction. Drake is someone who knows how to entertain people, and he can improv pretty well on a dime. It was impressive, to say the least, and it is yet another reason why you should try and go to his tour. Although, expect the prices to be astronomical.

During the first night of the tour, Drake revealed that For All The Dogs would be dropping fairly soon. Today is new music Friday and the album is nowhere to be seen. Hopefully, it will arrive prior to the end of the tour. That would be huge for fans as it would mean his setlist would change considerably. Let us know your hopes for this new album, down below. Drake is currently on tour with 21 Savage. The It’s All A Blur tour will take both of these artists all throughout North America. The Drake Hologram Appears

In the Twitter video up above, you can see how Drake was sitting next to a Hologram of his younger self. Moreover, he was performing “Look What You’ve Done” while sitting on a coach next to the Hologram. For now, however, it is actually unknown whether or not this was, in fact, a Hologram or just some other kind of projection. Either way, fans were pretty excited about it, and those who are about to witness it in future dates, are most certainly intrigued.

Hopefully, the tour continues to be a success. Overall, these tickets cost a whole lot of money. However, it does seem like Drake and 21 are putting on an incredible show. We will be at the show in Montreal on July 15th, and we can’t wait to experience It’s All A Blur in person. Let us know if you plan on attending the tour, down below. Drake Puts Up A Massive Virgil Abloh Statue On “It’s All A Blur” Tour

Drake is back on road. On Wednesday night (July 5), the “Search & Rescue” rapper returned to the stage to start his first tour in roughly five years and he certainly made sure the experience was well worth the wait. While the It’s All A Blur tour setlist includes records from across his catalog, from Thank Me Later to Her Loss, he ensured that he provided an elaborate stage set-up to accompany the bops. However, he made sure that it also paid homage to one of the greatest creative minds of our time.

On Wednesday night, hours before Drake and 21 Savage hit the stage at Chicago’s United Center, the Canadian rapper hit the ‘Gram to preview the stage design. He revealed that the stage boasted a massive statue of the late Virgil Abloh throwing a paper plane – a reference to the Louis Vuitton spring-summer 2019 runway show. “Our brother is watching,” he wrote on his Instagram Story with an image of the statue.

Drake Pays Homage To Virgil Abloh

Upon its reveal on Wednesday night’s show, Drake issued a heartfelt message about Abloh. “Please make some noise for one of the most important people I’ve met in this industry,” he said on stage. “Make some noise for one of the greatest minds that we’ve ever seen.” He continued, “Our brother, our family, he goes by the name of Virgil Abloh. Let’s pay some respect.” Of course, this isn’t the first time Drake showed love to Abloh’s brilliance, having dedicated 2022’s Honestly, Nevermind to the Off-White founder.

The It’s All A Blur tour already feels like it’ll create some incredible moments this year. The opening night shared some insight on the setup, which includes Drake running through a greatest hits-like setlist before 21 Savage emerges on stage. The two then joined forces to deliver a few cuts off of Her Loss before Drake appropriately closed the night off with “Legend.” But besides the tribute to Virgil, Drake also opened the show with “Look What You’ve Done” next to a hologram version of his younger self. Check his tribute to Abloh above.

Drake Includes Sperm Projection As Part Of His Tour Visuals

Drake is one of the biggest artists in the entire world. Overall, this has been true for quite some time now. You really cannot discredit anything that Drizzy has done in the sneaker world over the years. Overall, he is one of the GOATs, and that is something that will never change. Moreover, he is now on tour with 21 Savage. The It’s All A Blur tour is taking Drake all throughout North America. Last night, the first date was in Chicago, and it was a massive success.

As for the tour’s visual components, well, one could say that Drake is doing something new and unique.

Drake Makes An Odd Choice

In the video clip up above, you can see Drake performing on a huge square stage in the middle of the arena floor. Furthermore, there are big projections above him. However, the one above is a bit explicit as it showcases a group of sperm swimming around. The rest of the visuals aren’t nearly as jarring. In the tweets down below, you can see how he had headlines going across the screen, while also having nightclub visuals at other points. Overall, it seemed like quite the experience for all those who went.

Although Drizzy is already teasing another new album, you can be sure that he played a bunch of his old hits. He also played a plethora of new songs off of CLB, Honestly, Nevermind, and Her Loss.

Heading into the tour, a lot of fans were also curious about what kind of merch there would be. Of course, Drake has his very own deal with Nike, which means he has a great in for a lot of apparel.
