Drake Defends OVO Crew After Deleting His Kendrick Lamar Disses

Drake has repped his OVO crew since day one. He’s shouted members out by name, and praised their loyalty on clasic songs like “No New Friends” and “No Friends In the Industry.” The OVO camp really got rocked in the Kendrick Lamar battle, though. The Compton rapper repeatedly called out the loyalty of the 6 God’s closest friends on “6:16 In LA” and “Meet the Grahams.” Drake tried to ward off these claims on his own diss, but he addressed it again in a new Instagram post.

Drizzy returned to the social media platform on June 5. He posted a series of photos of himself smoking, drinking, and seemingly working on new music. Standard as far as Drake posts go. It was the caption that turned the most heads. Instead of teasing a release date or his upcoming collab with Camila Cabello, the rapper dismissed the notion that his OVO crew is sucking up to him. “The only yes man around me is my Rolex dealer,” he wrote. It does appear that Drake is wearing a Rolex watch in the photos, but in no way is it the focus. The rapper simply felt the need to tell fans that the people working around him are straight.

The caption seems tied to Kendrick Lamar’s aforementioned diss tracks. The rapper really made it seem as though Drake’s people were plotting on his demise, especially on “6:16 In LA.” “Have you ever thought that OVO is workin’ for me,” he rapped. “A hunnid n**gas that you got on salary, twenty of ’em want you as a casualty… Two of them is practically tired of your lifestyle. Just don’t got the audacity to tell you.” The concept resurfaced on “Meet the Grahams.” Albeit, in a much more accusatory context. “He got sex offenders on ho-VO that he keep on a monthly allowance,” he spit. “A child should never be compromised and he keepin’ his child around them. And we gotta raise our daughters knowin’ there’s predators like him lurkin’.”

Drake tried to deny these claims once before on “The Heart Part 6.” He claimed he fed Lamar fake info through his crew, who were still actually on his side. “My Montreal connects stand up, now fall down,” he explained. “The ones that you’re getting your stories fro, they all clowns. I am a war general, sеasoned in preparation.” Interestingly, the 6 God took down all of his Lamar disses from Instagram, minutes after he posted the “Rolex” photos.

Drake Gets Roasted For Deleting All His Kendrick Lamar Disses On IG

Drake wasn’t kidding when he said “summer vibes.” The rapper has made a complete 180 since he ended his rap battle with Kendrick Lamar. He stopped taunting his opponent on social media, and he stopped dropping diss tracks. To make matters even worse, he took down his last diss, “The Heart Part 6,” on Instagram. Some fans theorized that the rapper did so because he wasn’t proud of that song in particular. This theory went out the window on June 5, however, when Drake decided to take ALL of his Lamar disses off Instagram.

Drake deleted the IG links for “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle.” He also took down the audio link and music video link for “Family Matters.” The last of the bunch, the aforementioned “The Heart Part 6,” was taken down the day prior. It’s a shocking turn of events, given how aggressive Drake was in wanting to battle Lamar early on. Drake evidently wants to start a new chapter. He posted pics of himself from a photoshoot involving a Rolex watch. Tellingly, though, the rapper makes reference to one of Lamar’s big accusations in the caption. He ignored the notion that his OVO crew is compromised, and wrote: “The only yes man around me is my Rolex dealer.”

Drake’s Diss Songs Are Still On Streaming Platforms

Fans absolutely tore into Drake upon realizing that he took the K. Dot disses down. They brought up the fact that he previously criticized rappers for being “tweeters and deleters” when it came to taking shots. “Didn’t he say ‘tweeters and deleters’ lmao even he knew he lost,” wrote one user. Another claimed that we were finally witnessing what Kanye West wanted to see all along. “We are witnessing the elimination of Drake in real time,” they tweeted. There were tons of responses that conveyed the sentiment that the 6 God wanted to move on from the Lamar battle because he lost so handily. “He wants y’all to forget about that a*s whoopin lol,” an amused follower wrote.

There were those who defended Drake. Some fans noted that he’s likely getting ready to launch a new album cycle, and wanted to clean up his profile. It’s something many artists do as a means of denoting a new era. “Every artist cleans their socials before a big drop,” one person tweeted. “All the songs are still on streaming platforms, that’s all that matters.”

Of course, her post has elicited a resounding no from her followers, who argue that Meg would simply never put up with his antics. “Nope stay away from her,” one critical commenter writes. “Stop it!” another says. Others are slamming Saffold for posting something like this when she knows that Chrisean Rock is eagerly awaiting his release from prison. “Why is you playing with Chrisean like this?” someone wonders.

This isn’t the first time Saffold has shown interest in her son dating the “Hiss” performer, however. Rick Ross Roasted By Fans Over Vegan Burger Video

Rick Ross is one of the most unique characters in all of hip-hop and it’s not unusual to see him get into some strange situations. That’s normally around the time that rap fans start to pile on him with roasts about any number of his eccentricities. It doesn’t help that he seems to love being on camera as much as anybody. That means there’s plenty of evidence for his strange behavior online. The newest example is a video of him trying one of Bun B’s vegan burgers. He enthusiastically garnishes the burger in front of a large crowd in an inherently bizarre video.

And as you’d expect, fans came through with the roasts almost immediately. As you’d expect many of the comments were made about Ross’ weight. “this n*gga been on ozempic and hasnt shed a single pound😭” one of the most-liked comments on the post reads. “Bro was peeling off the lettuce 😭😭” and “That man ain’t ever had a vegetable in his life” two other comments read. Other’s bring up his recent spat with Drake. “Drake ended this man’s career so badly he turned into a food reviewer 😂” one comment jokes. Others just point out how strange the entire arrangement is. Over the weekend Rick Ross hosted another one of his car shows. This one was met with backlash from fans when it seemed more people showed up than intended. Sexyy Red Shares Hyped Reaction To Being Included On Billboard’s “Hottest Female Rappers Right Now” List

Earlier today, Billboard published their list of the hottest female rappers around right now. They considered a myriad of different criteria like chart success, quality of their albums, impact on the culture, touring success, and more. That led them to a top 10 list of artists any rap fan should be plenty familiar with. Flo Milli, JT, Latto, GloRilla, and Cardi B make up the bottom half of the list. Ice Spice, Doja Cat, and Megan Thee Stallion cracked the top five. Coming in at number two, behind only Nicki Mianj, is Sexyy Red.

That’s no surprise as she had an absolutely massive breakout year in 2023. On the back of her Hood Hottest Princess mixtape and numerous high-profile collaborations that followed, Red became a superstar. She followed it up with a new mixtape last month that debuted in the top 20 of the Billboard 200 this week. She took to Instagram to share a hyped reaction to her inclusion on Billboard’s new list. “SHOUT OUT TO US WE WINNIN 🤩🎀 BIG THANKS TO @billboard” her caption reads. In response to comments about her placement on the list she shared more thoughts. “It’s not about the rank we top 10 dats coo wimme 🤷🏽‍♀️ stay blessed” her comment reads. Sexyy Red Feeling The Love From Billboard

On Sexyy Red’s new mixtape In Sexyy We Trust she once again collabs with Drake. The pair first teamed up last year on “Rich Baby Daddy” from Drake’s album For All The Dogs. Their new collaboration is called “U My Everything” and hilarious sees Drake rapping over the viral “BBL Drizzy” beat. Subsequently the track debuted at number 44 on the Hot 100 this week.

Trina Believes She Deserves To Be In The Top 5 Female Rappers Conversation

Trina spoke on her legacy during a recent interview with Carlos King, arguing that she feels left out of the debate over the top five female rappers of all time. She explained that she’s influenced most of the artists she sees fans pick for their lists. “I feel like I know what I’ve done and I feel like even your top 5 has been at some point influenced by me,” she said. “I know, or probably even worked with or loved – even idolized. It’s probably somebody I really support and love in the industry.”

When The Neighborhood Talk shared the clip on Instagram, fans had mixed responses to Trina’s take. In the comments section, one user wrote: “No shade we gotta give Trina her flowers. She’s a staple in female rap that doesn’t get enough recognition.” Another countered: “I love Trina, but let’s be real, she is not in the top 5, she may not even be in the top 10 if we are being honest…” Later in the clip, she mentions how she was always nominated at the BET Awards, but rarely won anything.

Elsewhere in the interview, Trina discussed one female rapper who fans often list in their top five, Nicki Minaj. She revealed that she hasn’t spoken to her in a number of years, but she’s happy for the success she’s achieved. “I’m proud, like, you’re deserving of this, like, we watched your first tour, it was great… and now it’s like phenomenal, and you’re just looking at the growth — you just got your son,” Trina said. “…I’m just happy for you, even if you over here and I’m over here, but I’m just happy for you. And I feel like everything that’s happening for her, she deserves.”

That became clearer than even when he deleted the Instagram post that included “The Heart Part 6.” It served as the final diss track in the beef where Drizzy claimed he planted one of the stories Kendrick included in his diss track and responded to allegations of liking underage girls. With the song disappearing from his Instagram it feels like he’s confirming that the beef is over and moving on to new things.

That’s when he took to his Instagram story with a new post. Drake shared a picture of himself on the basketball court with some friends with the caption “Members.” He’s no stranger to the basketball court, regularly sharing photos and videos of his practices. He’s been busy recently with the Kendrick Lamar beef and a recent team-up with Sexyy Red. Now many fans are wondering if he may take the extended break from music that he originally promised after dropping For All The Dogs last year. Trina Clarifies Where Things Stand Between Her And Nicki Minaj

It’s been the biggest year in recent memory for fans of rap beef. In the past two months Kendrick Lamar, Drake, BIA, Cardi B, J. Cole, Future, Rick Ross, Metro Boomin, Quavo, and Chris Brown have all been involved in various rap beefs. But the two who led the way were Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj. They traded jabs earlier this year with a line from Megan’s “HISS” mentioning Nicki’s husband. Minaj clapped back with an entire diss track called “Big Foot” but it was nearly universally rejected by rap fans outside of her Barbz.

Fans thought that there may be some bad blood between Minaj and Trina that could have sparked yet another beef for her. But during a recent interview she clarified that things between her and Nicki were cool. Mostly she focused on her comments about Beyonce being the queen of rap. She clarified that it had nothing to do with Nicki specifically, just that she believes it’s Beyonce over everybody. Nicki Minaj is currently on her massive Pink Friday 2 tour. She’s currently in Europe, where she ran into some trouble. During a stop in Amsterdam she was arrested and hit with drug charges. Videos of the arrest went viral online as fans criticized the police’s treatment of Nicki. She recently announced a second North American leg of the tour for later this year once the European leg wraps up. Tickets for those shows were released last month with fans who missed the first time around scrambling to see Nicki this year.

Kendrick Lamar Diss Track Reaction Videos Subject To Copyright Claims After All

Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s beef was the talk of the rap for for over a month. From the weeks long waits between the first fee tracks to the remining being lit off in rapid fire succession, everyone in the rap world was on the edge of their seat waiting to dissect the latest developments. That includes YouTube channels posting their reactions to the songs as they were released. Diss tracks are particularly good for that medium as the fan interest is high and the ability to go through the song one lyric at a time breaking it down works perfectly.

It was initially reported that YouTubers would be able to keep the money they made from the reaction videos. Multiple YouTubers shared that they would be able to keep the revenue from their reaction videos while the beef was still going on. But now, conflicting reports are coming out about the videos copyright eligibility. In a post shared by djakademikstv a twitter user asks rapper and YouTuber Scru Face Jean if the Kendrick diss track videos are being copyright claimed. Nearly every song from the beef has gone on to have major commercial success. “Like That” led the way debuting at the top spot on the Hot 100 and spending three weeks there. That success could eventually be dwarfed by “Not Like Us. “ That song also debuted at the top spot on the singles chart. The track is still hovering in the top five of the Hot 100. It’s been billed by many as one of the potential songs of the summer.
