Faker Reveals Arm Injury Has Been Affecting His Play

By the lofty standards of T1, the 2023 Summer split has been somewhat disappointing. At the time of writing, the team is 6-2 in the LCK. By comparison, T1 have lost just four matches over the last two splits combined. The slow start has seen them leapfrogged by an undefeated Gen.G as well as a one-loss KT Rolster. However, part of the issue may lie with the health of their veteran mid laner, Faker.

Faker, who has been spent his entire career with T1, has essentially professional League of Legends every week since 2013. When he’s not in pro play, he’s more than like at home or at the training facility playing the game. Faker has a 3.7 KDA this split, which puts him around the middle of the league for that category. If he maintains that KDA, it would be his lowest tally since the 2021 Summer split. However, Faker recently revealed that he has been dealing with an injury that has affected his play.

Faker Receives Treatment For Arm Injury

Speaking after T1’s 2-1 series win over Nongshim RedForce on July 2, Faker revealed that he was being treated for an arm injury. “I haven’t been feeling well recently. I believe my performance since the BRION match may have been impacted because of this […] I am under treatment and in talks with the team,” Faker told the media. The news hit an international audience thanks to a translation from veteran reporter Ashley Kang. Arm injuries can be common, especially in more intense leagues such as the LCK. Dplus star Showmaker received treatment for a wrist injury in 2020. Meanwhile a recurring shoulder injury led to the first retirement of Chinese legend Uzi in 2019.

T1 played BRION Esports on June 17, meaning that the issue has been hampering Faker’s play for nearly two weeks. However, T1 has gone 4-1 during that span, only losing to the aforementioned KT Rolster. While Faker reassured fans that the injury wasn’t too severe, he won’t have much time to recover. T1 are scheduled to play DRX on July 5, giving him just three days of rest. This is a developing story and we’ll have any updates here at HotNewHipHop.

Management Of Building Flo Rida’s Son Fell From Claims They’re Not At Fault

Back in March, Flo Rida’s 6-year-old son Zohar Dillard fell from the window of an apartment building in New Jersey. The boy and his mother, Alexis Adams, live in the building on the 5th floor. He was critically hurt in the fall, later ending up in the ICU for his various injuries. He suffered collapsed lungs, a shattered pelvis, internal bleeding, metatarsal fractures, and a liver laceration. Following the tragic accident, the boy’s mother filed a lawsuit, claiming that improperly installed windows in the building led to her son’s fall.

She is seeking damages from Goldberg Management, Carlos Machado, and Pitch Perfect 74 LLC. Adams claims that all three parties were “negligent and careless and did not install size guards on the window.” “As a single mom to a special needs child, this feels like a nightmare,” she said following the tragedy. “My heart is broken into a million pieces. It is devastating to see my child go through such pain and trauma knowing that this could’ve been avoided.”

Adams later said, “I am just so grateful that my son is alive, fighting, and is still here with me. He’s a real-life superhero.” Legal documents obtained by RadarOnline now reveal that Goldberg Management, the building’s property management company, has filed to dismiss the case. The company is claiming they are not at fault for the child’s fall and subsequent injuries.

The 6-year-old boy also has special needs, reportedly diagnosed with autism and hydrocephalus. In May, it was reported that Flo Rida was ordered by judge Shira Atzmon to pay Zohar’s mother $500,000 in child support per year. It has previously been reported that the rapper had been refusing to pay his son’s medical bills.

Khalid’s Mom Provides An Update After His Car Accident

Khalid got in a car crash last week that left him with minor injuries. He stopped his vehicle when it began to overheat, pulling over to the side of the road. He got into the passenger seat for more room while the car cooled down, then a passing vehicle subsequently hit his car. Thankfully, the musical artist suffered only minor injuries. And according to his mother, Linda Wolfe, he expects to fully recover and return to what he was doing before the accident.

Right now, Khalid is an opening act for Ed Sheeran’s Mathematics Tour. He is scheduled to return to the stage as early as tomorrow, June 30. Kicking things off for the North American leg of the tour, many fans are waiting anxiously for the “Location” singer to make a triumphant comeback. If he indeed gets out there on Friday, the tour is currently at Gilette Stadium in Foxborough, MA. For the past week, without Khalid as an opening act, Ed Sheeran has been opening for himself. The crowd is eating it up because more Sheeran is never a bad thing.

Khalid + Ed Sheeran = “Mathematics” Success

The combination of Khalid and Ed Sheeran on tour makes a ton of sense. Both have this crooning sensibility and chill vibe, creating a semi-hyped, semi-relaxed atmosphere. The tour is ending on September 23, and Sheeran is also doing a more intimate Subtract Tour at the same time as Mathematics. In fact, he’s using music from his most recent album as the opening portion of his show until Khalid comes back. It might be jarring for fans to hear the subtler songs of Subtract to begin the concert, but Ed continues to point this out during the show.

Thankfully, Khalid is headed back on tour soon so that Ed can split his work up into two separate shows again. No word yet on what Khalid will do after the tour concludes, but the hope is always that he’s working on new music to release to the world. While Ed Sheeran and his fans continue to offer the R&B/soul singer support in his recovery, we assume the man is simply grateful to be in good health and to have avoided what could’ve been a tragic situation.

Wiz Khalifa Reveals He Recently Suffered A Pelvis Injury

On Friday, June 23, Wiz Khalifa let his fans know what he’d been up to the last couple of days…and it doesn’t sound too fun. The 35-year-old rapper sent out a few Tweets letting the world know he suffered a small tear in the cartilage of his pelvis. While we know he practices martial arts, we’re not sure if his training is the reason for this latest physical setback. “Told the lady I ain’t need no help then proceeded to f*ck my back up,” Wiz said on social media. “This sh*t f*ckin hurts and pain medicine ain’t helping.”

Videos of Wiz Khalifa show him in black Calvin Klein boxer briefs and black kinesiology tape running up and down his lower back. Using two canes, he shows his fans that rehabilitation for this injury involves slowly walking to regain overall physical stability. He’s taking this injury seriously and cautiously, reportedly watching movies and applying remedies so that the swelling in his lower back goes down. Wiz Khalifa updated the masses on Saturday, showing himself walking faster than before. “Ima finna have super hips after this,” he said.

Fans have flooded social media, offering support from afar as the rapper continues to heal. The “Black and Yellow” star appreciated the love, helping fuel his recovery process. Wiz Khalifa got into professional fighting back in 2021. He invested in the Professional Fighters League (PFL) and became an advisor to the budding sports league. Again, we are not sure if his mixed martial arts training has anything to do with his pelvic cartilage tear. But one can speculate it might be a contributing factor.

This injury comes on the heels of a rare public appearance by Wiz alongside his ex-partner Amber Rose. The two co-parents were at their 10-year-old son Sebastian’s fourth-grade graduation. The ex-couple was married for a little over a year in 2013/2014 and shares joint custody of Sebastian. Wiz Khalifa’s current girlfriend, Aimee Aguilar, was also in attendance. For now, the rapper is subjugated to his bed, letting his pelvis and lower back heal so he can get back to doing what he loves.

Lonzo Ball Gets Tough Injury Update

Lonzo Ball hasn’t seen an NBA court since January 2022. During a career year for the 2017 second-overall pick, he went down with a meniscus tear in his left knee. The injury needed surgery and Ball was ruled out of the 2022-23 season.

Ball’s career has been largely defined by injury. He missed almost half of his sophomore season after undergoing surgery to fix the same injury that ruled him out of the most recent NBA season. Partially as a result of this, Ball is on his third NBA team despite only being drafted in 2017.

The Bulls are currently in a state of flux, having made the playoffs just twice in the last eight seasons. Furthermore, the team has been unable to stay consistent. They regressed six games in terms of wins in 2022/23 compared to the season prior. Now, they will have to play without Ball for at least another season.

No Ball For The Bulls In 2023/24

Per the Bulls’ VP of Basketball Operations Arturas Karnisovas, Lonzo Ball will not be playing next season. “Our expectation is that he’s not coming back next season,” Karnisovas said following Thursday’s NBA draft. “He’s going to continue on his recovery. If he comes back, it would be great. But we’re just going to treat this offseason and get ready for the season that he’s not going to be back.”

Ball’s rehabilitation has reportedly been “incremental” since sustaining the injury in January 2022. However, the team noted that his most recent surgery has given Ball the best chance to resume his NBA career at some point in the future. Karnisovas further noted that Ball had recently begun to walk without crutches.

However, this progress will be of little comfort to Bulls fans, who are preparing themselves for another rough season. Beyond Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan, the Bulls had just one player who averaged more than 15 points per game last season. Furthermore, this comes at a time when the Eastern Conference continues to grow more competitive. In the recent 2023 NBA Draft, the Bulls made just one selection – taking Tennessee’s Julian Phillips in the second round.

Other Players Seek To Make Injury Bounce Backs

However, there is better news in regard to injuries for a number of other players in the basketball landscape. Khris Middleton, who was limited to 33 games last season, is hoping for a full bounce-back season. Furthermore, Middleton recently declined his $40 million player option to test free agency, though re-signing with the Bucks remains an option.

Further south, the Pelicans will be hoping to get a full season out of Zion Williamson. Williamson, the first-overall pick in 2019, has played just 29 games over the last two seasons. While he appears to be staying in New Orleans for the time being, his future with the team could very much depend on whether he stays healthy enough to contribute.

Elsewhere, there’s good news for the UConn Huskies women’s basketball team. Head coach Geno Auriemma has announced that he expects Paige Bueckers to be ready for the start of the season. Bueckers, who won National Player of the Year as a freshman, has been plagued by injuries the past two seasons. After playing 17 games as a sophomore, Bueckers missed the entire 2022-23 season with an ACL tear.

Denver Nuggets Parade Derailed By Cop Accident, Shooting

The Nuggets took to the streets of Denver on June 15 to celebrate the franchise’s first NBA championship. The parade wove its way across the historic city. Furthermore, it culminated with speeches and testimonies in front of a crowd of thousands at Civic Park. The Nuggets, who have called Denver home since being founded in 1967, took home the NBA title with a 4-1 series win over the Miami Heat. The title came after a dominant season in which the Nuggets won 53 games.

Thousands of people lined the streets of Denver to catch a glimpse of the Nuggets’ parade. Members of the championship team waved to fans from fire engines. However, news outlets captured footage of DeAndre Jordan and Jeff Green opening bottles for fans, as well as jumping off the fire engine to party at the barricades alongside supporters. A reporter for CBS Colorado also caught up with a fan sporting a large Denver Nuggets mohawk.

However, the event was not executed without any hitches. As the parade neared the end of its route, there was a collision. The fire truck carrying Nikola Jokić, Jamal Murray, and other prominent members of the team hit a police officer. Additionally, man was reportedly rushed to the hospital with a “severe lower leg injury” and remains in a “serious and stable condition”. No other injuries were reported and members of the team were able to proceed with the festivities at Civic Park.

Furthermore, a local Fox affiliate has reported that a double shooting occurred at 17th & Curtis, about 1.5 miles from Civic Park, around the same time as the end of the parade. Few details have been released about the shooting. However, the timing and proximity to the parade has added another somber note to what should have been a joyous day for the city. Yung Gravy Isn’t Suing Festival After Taking A Nasty Fall

A few weeks ago Yung Gravy had what looked like a pretty serious fall during a performance. He was playing at Alabama’s Hangout Music Festival when he tripped over a wooden plank while addressing the crowd. Video of the incident went viral and given how particularly nasty the fall looked fans were curious what happened. In the days following he revealed that he suffered multiple fractures as a result.

Thankfully, he seems to be in good spirits and when TMZ caught up with him recently he filled in some more details. He told cameras that despite it being his own fault he tripped, that Hangout Festival was generously covering his medical bills resulting from the fall. This probably has something to do with his decision not to pursue any kind of legal action against the organizers of the Hangout Fest. The festival was the very first stop on Yung Gravy’s summer tour but despite his injuries he continued performing and hasn’t cancelled any shows. He’s set to appear at Lollapalooza, Bonaroo, BottleRock, and more festivals over the next few months.

Yung Gravy’s Painful Trip

Aside from Yung Gravy’s fall Hangout Fest seemed to go on without any other issues. Headliners like SZA, Lil Nas X, and GloRilla performed at the fest and fans online seemed to enjoy it. Yung Gravy is coming off a 2022 where he scored his biggest hit to date with “Betty (Get Money).” Unfortunately, the song’s prominent sample of Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up” might have cause more trouble for Gravy than it was worth. Earlier this year it went public that Gravy was being sued by Astley for his use of the song.

Yung Gravy dropped his 4th album “Marvelous” last year. Despite that, he has been busy in 2023 so far already releasing a number of tracks. Included in the bunch if the bbno$ featuring “Goodness Gracious,” as well as “Strawberries & Creamin’” which dropped just last week. Gravy also hopped on a remix of ARTAN’s TikTok hit “She’s A 10 But…” earlier this year. What do you think of the rapper’s choice not to sue Hangout Fest? Let us know in the comments below.

NBA YoungBoy Sued Over 2019 Concert Incident

Being under house arrest is not preventing NBA YoungBoy from getting into more legal trouble. According to a report from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the rapper is being sued over an incident at a 2019 concert. According to the lawsuit, the incident occurred while YoungBoy performed at The Ambassador on January 26, 2019. NBA YoungBoy has been serving a house arrest in Utah since October 2021.

Cayden Rutherford, the plaintiff in the case, claims that she suffered severe and life-changing injuries after being thrown from the stage at the concert. Rutherford alleges that she climbed on stage before being thrown off by an unspecified member of staff. She also alleged that she suffered multiple injuries after striking the venue’s concrete floor, as well as a broken cable. Rutherford claims she suffered a concussion, as well as injuries to her neck, back, and ankle. Furthermore, Rutherford claims that the physical and mental trauma of the incident still affects her today.

Lawsuit Points To History Of Stage Ejections

DALLAS, TX – MAY 03: YoungBoy Never Broke Again performs during JMBLYA at Fair Park on May 3, 2019 in Dallas, Texas. (Photo by Cooper Neill/Getty Images)

The lawsuit is largely one of negligence. As noted in the filed court documents, YoungBoy’s shows have something of a history of the rapper fighting fans and having them thrown off stage. According to the lawsuit, there were three incidents in Minnesota, Virginia, and South Carolina where a fan was physically thrown from the stage. All three incidents occurred prior to the 2019 show in St. Louis. As a result of this, Rutherford alleges that there should have been better supervision at the 2019 concert. The Ambassador, concert promoter Major Entertainment LLC and security company Elite Security, Protection & Services LLC are also named as defendants.

Rutherford is seeking undisclosed monetary damages from the four defendants. However, her attorney Brad Elkin declined to provide further comment to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Furthermore, attorneys for the defendants did not respond to requests for comment form the outlet. This is a developing story and we’ll have any updates here at HotNewHipHop.

Yung Gravy Takes A Serious Tumble At Hangout Fest

Minnesota rapper Yung Gravy is reportedly injured after falling during his performance at Hangout Fest. Gravy was passing roses out to his supporters when his foot caught a piece of plywood and he went down hard. The artist performed injured on Sunday, May 21. His fall left him with a broken left elbow and a broken right wrist, which he didn’t discover until going to the ER the following day. Other performers at the festival included SZA, Lil Nas X, GloRilla, Russ, and more.

Unfortunately, the injury occurred at Gravy’s first performance of his recently-announced tour. The tour features stops at festivals like BottleRock, Bonnaroo, Summerfest, Lollapalooza, Life Is Beautiful and more. Known for his 2022 Rick Astley-sampling single “Betty (Get Money),” Gravy also went viral for dating TikTok star Addison Rae’s mom.

Yung Gravy Performed Injured

Gravy told Page Six of the 42-year-old, “I hit on her first, I knew of her and I thought she was fine.” He said, “She’s like a Southern belle and I’m a Northern boy so it felt really cute and wholesome,” adding, “[I’m] into MILFs and she’s kinda the queen of MILFs.” His most recent album, Marvelous, was released in 2022. He announced the LP in September of that year, along with his release of the single “C’est La Vie.” The rapper also later revealed the album’s tracklist, revealing features from artists like TrippyThaKid and Ishdarr.

He told Paper in December, “The whole rap thing to me was a big risk at first. I didn’t show my face on my songs.” He revealed, “I had a job lined up for after school. I was going to open this office in Atlanta for the company I worked at.” Gravy also shared that he “thought about using” the Rickroll sample for a long time prior to releasing “Betty (Get Money).” The rapper explained, “I just didn’t think we could clear it. I recorded the song but one of the writers wasn’t down with it.” He says, “one of the writers didn’t like the language I was using, so [he] had to rewrite the whole song.” He added that it became the first clean song he ever put out.
