Ice Spice Has Cleared Up Those Wild Central Cee Dating Rumors, So Everyone Can Chill Out

Ice Spice’s debut studio album, Y2K!, will be released in a few hours, and she just told Capital XTRA Breakfast that she has a “crazy” and “risky” plan for the rest of this year. Before any of that happens, though, Ice Spice addressed crazy speculation around whether she’s dating UK rapper Central Cee.

According to the newly published Rolling Stone September 2024 cover story starring Ice Spice, she told the publication that she is single.

“We’ve been friends since ‘Munch’ came out, honestly,” the Bronx-bred star said of Central Cee. “We’re just twins.”

Speculation around Central Cee and Ice Spice sparked earlier this month. Before releasing “Did It First,” their collaborative single, Central Cee and Ice Spice were seen shopping together in London. People saw that and ran with it, as they do. These TikTok videos posted by Madeline Argy, Central Cee’s ex, didn’t help.

Ice Spice also brought out Central Cee as a surprise guest during her Wireless Festival 2024 set, where they performed “Did It First.”

To Ice’s credit, she has consistently described Central Cee as a friend. As a Complex cover star last fall, Ice Spice said she and Central Cee had “become good friends over the past year ever since he hopped on ‘Munch [Remix].’” Within the same profile, Central Cee said that Ice Spice “reminds me of me a bit,” which coincides with Ice Spice saying they’re twins in the new Rolling Stone profile.

Ice Spice Finds Unlikely (And Slightly Vulgar) Career Inspiration From ‘SpongeBob Squarepants’

What’s your favorite moment in SpongeBob SquarePants history? Is it “I remember when they first invented chocolate”? Or “Sweet Victory”? Or maybe it’s the time Mr. Krabs told SpongeBob to “go the f*ck home.”

In a cover story for Rolling Stone, rapper Ice Spice talked about how SpongeBob SquarePants — both the unstoppable Nickelodeon series and the endlessly optimistic character — has inspired her work ethic.

“I think I learned a lot from that show,” she said. “He never wanted a day off, even when Mr. Krabs would tell him, ‘Go the f*ck home.’ He’d be like, ‘No, I need to work.’”

So that’s what SpongeBob characters are saying under the dolphin noise.

Later, Ice Spice discussed the response to the cover artwork for her upcoming album, Y2K! (here’s something to make you feel old: the first SpongeBob SquarePants episode aired seven months before the turn of the millennium).

“Throughout my entire career, I don’t think I’ve ever had a moment of strictly praise. I think, through it all, there was always a lot of hate,” she said. “And I kind of appreciate that, because I find that when people are only love, they’re not as real. I don’t dwell on how people are perceiving me, whether it’s negative or positive, because that’s really what you sign up for when you put yourself out there on a public platform. It’s for people to make their opinions about you.”

Y2K! comes out on July 26.

Ice Spice Does Not Understand Why Latto Has Beef With Her

The Ice Spice and Latto saga continues. In a new interview with Rolling Stone to ahead of the release of Ice’s debut album Y2K, she covered several topics. She spoke about her newfound success in the rap game, her role in the upcoming Spike Lee film High and Low, becoming friends with Taylor Swift, and, of course, her feud with Latto. The two have been taking shots at one another since early last year, if their fans are to be believed.

People speculated that Ice’s January single “Think U The Sh*t” is about Latto. Ice confirmed that it was, referencing a snippet of a song Latto played on her TikTok and the accompanying clip showing footage of an Ice Spice music video in the background. Ice called it a “weak-ass snippet” in a X space. Latto responded by filming her next music video in The Bronx, Ice’s hometown. The two have taken subtle digs at each other since then. When asked about her conflict with Latto directly, Ice did not attempt to skirt the question.

Ice Spice Addresses Latto Feud In Rolling Stone Cover Story

“I can understand a friendly competition, but I feel like at this point it’s a joke that she’s just dragged out, and it’s not even funny,” said Ice Spice. The perceived feud between the two has gone for over a year, with neither of them making direct statements toward each other. Latto recently said that she has no desire to battle Ice, as they operate in two different lanes. Ice seemingly confirmed that with her words in the Rolling Stone interview.

As far as their music careers are concerned, both Ice Spice and Latto are enjoying success. Latto recently featured on the K-pop singer Jung Kook’s track “Seven.” The track received platinum certification and became Latto’s first track to hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Ice had two popular singles with Nicki Minaj, “Princess Diana” and “Barbie World,” the latter of which appeared on the Barbie soundtrack in 2023. “Boy’s A Liar, Pt. 2” with PinkPantheress went viral, becoming one of the biggest songs of last year. She also collaborated with Taylor Swift on a remix of Swift’s track “Karma,” nearly earning her a #1 single of her own. Y2K, her debut album, releases on July 26.

Ice Spice Has A ‘Risky’ And ‘Crazy’ Plan In Mind For After Her Album ‘Y2K!’

After becoming a star on the back of songs like “In Ha Mood” and “Boy’s A Liar Pt. 2,” Ice Spice is now just hours away from releasing Y2K!, her debut album. As for what’s next for Ice, it looks like she’s ready to take a risk.

During an interview on Capital XTRA Breakfast today (as NME notes), Ice said of her plans for the rest of 2024, “I kind of want to do something that is kind of crazy, but I don’t want to say what it is yet. I feel like people are going to have so many things to say, but if I do it, you guys will not miss it.”

She added that the plan is “probably as risky as” jumping out of a plane, continuing, “That’s all I can really say. But let’s see, let’s see, though. I don’t know, I might change my mind. I’m very indecisive.”

Ice also said of how she’s feeling in the lead-up to the new album, “I think naturally, I’ll have good nerves, if anything. I feel like it’s a good thing to be a little nervous, because it means you just care. I’m so eager to put out the album, I’m really excited. And my fans are really excited, so yeah… it’s like finally here. I’ve been working on it for like a year.”

Ice Spice & Her Team Reamed Out By Wig Maker For Allegedly Not Paying For 24 Examples

Ice Spice and her team are not looking good right now because a wig maker is claiming they need to pay up big time. According to an Instagram post from The Neighborhood Talk, the superstar asked The Bella Brand, a popular hair company, to create dozens of custom wigs for her now current Y2K! World Tour. It originally started out at 19, according to the company’s owner, Gia, but Spice raised it to 24 in total shortly after. Apparently, these two have collaborated prior to this booking, so Gia was down do it. However, when it was time to send over the payment, the hitmaker’s team did not have the budget to cover it.

Despite this originally surprising setback, Gia was sure they would be able to make things work. Sadly, the opposite happened as the payment date was a revolving door. Furthermore, “Spice’s team allegedly canceled the wig orders 1 day before they were due for delivery”. Because of this inconvenience, Gia said that Spice’s team was willing to send her a service fee. Even with that promise, Gia did not get a single dime. The business owner reminded them of their lack of cooperation after Spice’s people sent in another order and that is when things turned sour.

Gia put the performer’s affiliates on blast following this, saying, “Things happen, but that is not how you handle someone that respects your business AND ALWAYS comes through for you at the very last minute LITERALLY!!!!!! Also, you still owe me my wig back because it’s not paid for what’s going on with that??”. Then, with one last twist of the dagger, Gia threw some mean shade by accusing everyone involved of blatantly ripping of Nicki Minaj’s wig game. “Thank you for making us make all of these Nicki Minaj wigs. I’m going to go ahead and not upload the rest of the screenshots since this is supposed to be “Princess Diana” but it’s really always Queen Onika”.

What are your thoughts on Ice Spice and her team allegedly not paying this wig maker? Is the rapper’s image souring a little bit for you as a fan lately, why or why not? Are you still looking forward to her debut album, Y2K!? Do you think she will ultimately pay the company? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Central Cee’s Girlfriend Claps Back At Ice Spice’s Series Of Sneak Disses Amid Cheating Rumors

Over the last couple of weeks now, Central Cee and Ice Spice have really been heating up their relationship. According to his ex-girlfriend and social media influencer, Madeline Argy, them “dating” was a mischievous PR stunt for their collab “Did It First”. However, with the information and the song being out, they both certainly reveal a lot. “Gyal on my phone tryna see who I slept with / She investigating, detective / Lucky for me, I deleted the message“, Cee raps on the track. In some recent TikToks, Argy retold the story of how she found out Cee was possibly cheating on her through these bars. While we are still not exactly sure if the “Doja” MC is with Spice, the signs were enough for Argy to move on. Seeing her recent podcast episodes and social media posts, you can tell she is all over the place mentally.

Her fans have been rallying around her during the cheating rumors, all while this alleged new couple seems just fine. In fact, Ice Spice seems to even be sending some subliminal shots at Argy. According to AllHipHop, the Y2K! creator shared a TikTok of her doing some pushups with the caption, “mood after takin ha manzzz”. Argy got in the comments section simply and probably frustratingly replying with, “WHY”. Additionally, there was a since deleted TikTok of Cee’s ex doing pushups too, and Spice fans were claiming she posted that after the fact. Of course, the influencer’s supporters argued the opposite and that the rapper was taunting her.

Ice Spice & Central Cee’s Girlfriend Trade Shots

As we mentioned, Argy is running around trying to figure out exactly what happened and why it did even after the break-up. In a clip from her recent podcast, she still has no answer as to when or if any cheating went down. “Did he cheat on me? I have no idea. He blindsided me and he betrayed me, that is what I do know”. Later on, she added, “As far as I am as aware they were a PR stunt. This issue is, I was his girlfriend. So, what the f*** are you doing not telling me?”. So, yes, this whole situation is one big mess.

Latto Claims She Has No Interest In A Rap Battle With Ice Spice, And Her Reasoning Might Be A Bit Of Shade

Uproxx cover star Latto has put everything on the floor when it comes to her foe Ice Spice. Anytime a subliminal was sent her way, the “Big Mama” rapper has stayed true to her motto, “Get in the booth, b*tch.”

However, when asked by Billboard if she would take on Ice Spice in a rap battle, Latto politely declined. This is quite ironic coming from the forthcoming season two judge on Netflix’s rap competition show, Rhythm + Flow. But in today’s (July 19) interview, Latto explained why.

“If I was to do [a battle], it would have to be with somebody I feel like I’mma go tit-for-tat with,” she said. “I really don’t mean it as shade. Would she even want to do that?”

Although Latto says she didn’t intend for the response to be shade, it can certainly be perceived that way. Latto doesn’t have any interest in a full on battle, but she isn’t above responding with a track.

At the top of the year, Ice Spice dropped “Think U The Sh*t (Fart)” a direct jab at Latto. Following the bathroom-centered bars, Latto responded with “Sunday Service.” In the official video, Latto reportedly even visited Ice Spice’s childhood neighborhood to film parts of the visual.

We’re coming up on Ice Spice season, as her upcoming album Y2K! is only two New Music Fridays away with its July 26 release date. Ahead of then, Ice has given a better idea of what the project will look like by unveiling the tracklist.

The album’s collaborations are “Oh Shh…” with Travis Scott, “B*tch I’m Packin’” with Gunna, and “Did It First” with Central Cee. The latter has been at the forefront recently, as Ice and Cee dropped the track last week alongside a video. Beyond that, we’ve also heard “Think U The Sh*t (Fart),” “Gimmie A Light,” and “Phat Butt.” All in all, Ice is going with a tight tracklist here, keeping the album at ten songs.

During the lead-up to the album, Ice Spice has kept busy. She performed at the 2024 BET Awards, she was a highlight at Coachella, and she landed a movie role alongside Denzel Washington.

Ice Spice’s Weight Loss Has Fans Divided

Overall, Ice Spice is quite the polarizing figure in hip-hop. This attitude among staunch fanatics of the genre began when she dropped “Munch (Feelin’ U)” in the summer of 2022. A lot of listeners were quick to dismiss her for her lack lyrical content and overall talent. Generally speaking, the consensus was that her physical attributes were carrying her, and a lot still feel that way. However, the New York native has proven the haters time and time again with hits galore past the aforementioned single. She is also seemingly at every music festival these days and pretty soon she will be releasing Y2K!, her debut studio album.

But if there is one thing that comes with the fame and popularity is that criticism will continue to follow just like it does when you are starting out. In the case of Ice Spice, it yet again has to deal with her appearance. Since coming into the game, the “Phat Butt” rapper has steadily lost weight and a lot of fans have been showing support. “Ice Spice look good thick and skinny, only a certain demographic gets mad when someone loses weight lol not everyone cares abt a fat a**”, one user wrote on X. “Idc what anyone says, Ice Spice’s weight loss looks good on her”, another added.

However, there is still a large portion of outsiders that are turned off and nit picking it, sadly. “She looked better before…”, someone bluntly states in the comments section of a HOLLYWOOD UNLOCKED post about Spice’s weight. “Stop lying we like the before”, another boldy claims. “We want thick spiceeeee 🍗”, someone else champions. Thankfully, there are some voices of reason on this post. “She is a performer she probably needed to be more fit to be a better performer and breathing control”. “I don’t recall her asking for y’all big backed opinions about her body”.
