Like it or not, the world can’t seem to get enough of Ice Spice. The “Think U The Sh*t (Fart)” rapper is a fixture on the music charts, and thanks to her Super Bowl LVIII commercial debut, she could very well become a go-to celebrity brand ambassador. But just as the public fawns over her, Ice Spice has a fixation of her own — Lana Del Rey.
On March 4, during a sit-down with Billboard for its “Women In Music” series, Ice Spice confessed that she’s, in fact, obsessed with Lana and her moody music. When asked about women previously featured in the series, Ice Spice paid homage to Charli XCX and Dolly Parton. But, she took a moment to fan out over her “musical north star,” Lana.
“Well, first, shout out to [Charli and Dolly]; they’re iconic, each in their own way,” she said. “I would say Lana Del Rey — I’m obsessed with her, and I feel like all of her songs are hits, even the ones that aren’t as big as the others.”
Ice Spice went on to sandwich in compliments about other artists before referencing Lana again. “Before Rihanna, too,” she said. “I have both [her and Del Rey’s] vinyls. Taylor Swift. Of course, Nicki Minaj. Drake. The list is long!”
Although Ice Spice and Del Rey haven’t collaborated yet, they have met each other on several occasions. Maybe their mutual friend, Taylor Swift, can encourage a special song from the two, especially since Ice Spice is currently working on her debut studio album, Y2K.

From the very start of her career as a rap diva, Ice Spice’s life has changed significantly. She went from being an aspiring rhymer in her early 20s, living in the Bronx, to spending time with figures like Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj. While some stars on the rise prefer to collaborate with an abundance of beatmakers to build their perfect sound, Spice has consistently worked with RiotUSA, who’s been in her life long before she unleashed her 2022 breakout hit, “Feelin’ U (Munch).”
Besides making magic together in the studio on songs like “Princess Diana” and “Pretty Girl,” the former college classmates also enjoy kicking it when they’re not working too. This past weekend, Riot was at the Super Bowl with his favourite femcee, and some fans took note of how good he looked alongside Spice. Some have previously linked them together romantically after the “Deli” hitmaker hinted at being in a relationship last year, though others have their theories that DJ Enuff’s son could be a part of the LGBTQ+ community.
Earlier this week, one of Nicki Minaj’s Barbz shared a screenshot of the DM they sent to Riot, simply writing, “Yo.” The busy creative hasn’t yet replied, but the Twitter/X user remained persistent, tagging Spice in hopes of having her facilitate something. “[Put me on] @icespicee_,” they pleaded. “He don’t like boys,” she simply responded, shutting down speculation about her friend’s sexuality.
Elsewhere in the news, Ice Spice has the attention of more than one man in the entertainment industry following Super Bowl weekend. The redhead attended alongside Taylor Swift, who was front and center in the news while supporting her man, Travis Kelce. The New Yorker met NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal at the big game too, though he’s now facing backlash for his provocative comments about the 24-year-old. Read all about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news.
Oh, how time flies. Valentine’s Day is next week. However, not everyone will be spending their night cuddled up. “Think U The Sh*t (Fart)” rapper Ice Spice had to remind a former flame of this sad fact. In her debut Super Bowl commercial, Ice Spice enjoys a beautiful night out with her newfound love, Starry.
As Ice Spice is showered with love by the beverage company’s digital avatars, her ex rudely interrupts the trio. In the teaser for the ad slot, viewers were left wondering who would make an onscreen cameo. But as the camera pans to the mystery man, the reveal is silly yet disappointing.
The crushed lover is actually one of Starry’s competitors. The actors’ blurred hoodie makes it hard to determine whether that’s Sprite or 7UP. Ice Spice isn’t a stranger to beef in her music, so Starry picked the right ambassador for their war for the No. 1 soda spot.
In a statement, the brand praised their star. “Ice Spice’s charm and charisma are unmatched, making her the perfect fit for the brand’s first Super Bowl commercial,” read the statement.
Ice Spice expressed the same feelings to Billboard. “I’m hyped to star in the first-ever Starry Super Bowl commercial,” she said. “Trust me. starry is a vibe.
The beef between Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion has been one of the biggest stories of 2024 so far. On top of being incredibly viral, it’s translated to impressive sales numbers. Megan’s diss track “HISS” spent four straight days as the number one song on the US Spotify charts. Unsurprisingly, it rode that high to a commanding number-one debut on the Hot 100. Many online believed that Latto was aiming for a similar appeal with her new track “Sunday Service,” but now she’s refuting that.
The speculation began with a tease earlier this week where she posed in front of a picture of Ice Spice with a black bar over her eyes. That led many to speculate that the song would be a diss aimed at the “Princess Diana” rapper. So when the song itself dropped many immediately poured through it looking for anything they could interpret as a diss. Though they found a much less direct song than many were expecting, fans still tried to frame the song as her “HISS” moment. Now, Latto took to Twitter to clarify that the song isn’t actually a diss track.
When somebody compared Latto’s new song to Nicki’s much-maligned “Big Foot” she clapped back. In particular, she took issue with the idea that it’s a “diss track.” “Who tf ever said it was a diss??? Video at noon I’m finna go live yallllll” she said in a response tweet.
In a later Instagram live she tried to clarify things. She also cleared up fan thoughts on the album being an “homage” to other female rappers. Latto clarified that while the song itself isn’t an homage, there are scenes from the music video that are meant to be interpreted that way. What do you think of Latto’s mixed responses to her new song “Sunday Service?” Do you think her new song is a diss track after all? Let us know in the comment section below.
After an anticipation-filled week, Latto has released the video for her new song “Sunday Service,” which fans believed to be a diss track aimed at various foes who’ve taken shots at her lately. In the lead-up to the song’s release, Latto made a trip to the Bronx, birthplace of her seeming rival Ice Spice, and released artwork depicting a number of fellow female rappers, including both up-and-coming artists and legends — and Ice was also featured.
All of this led to fans wondering whether Latto disses Ice Spice on the new song, and searching for allusions to their rivalry in its lyrics. Although the track isn’t really a diss song per se, those fans weren’t disappointed to learn that Latto does reserve a couple of lines — and even an ad-lib — for the younger rapper. She starts things off subtly, warning in the chorus, “Every time y’all book me with them hoes, it’s gon’ be big drama,” throwing in Ice’s signature ad-lib “Graaah” just to make clear which hoes to whom she is referring.
But she really squares up in verse two, directly citing Ice Spice’s recent song lashing out at her. “Think I’m the shit? Bitch, I know it, ho / Jesus walked on water, I got ice boilin’ though,” she smirks, addressing Ice’s call-out on “Think U The Sh*t (Fart),” which Ice later admitted was directed at Latto. Meanwhile, in the video, Latto makes it a point to walk into a deli (another Ice Spice reference) to buy a blunt — as in, “rolling up an opp pack,” one of those internet memes that has gone mainstream. Latto claims she didn’t realize “Fart” was about her until Ice admitted it, and even says the video that set Ice off wasn’t even intentional.
Latto says she didn’t purposely have Ice Spice’s video playing in the background of her preview for “Sunday Service”
Ice isn’t the only one to catch a shot from Latto on “Sunday Service”; she also appears to serve notice to Nicki Minaj with “Do you rap or do you tweet? ‘Cause I can’t tell, get in the booth / Stop all that motherf*ckin’ yellin’, ho / ‘Cause I ain’t buyin’ what you’re sellin’, ho.” Notably, fans think Ice Spice’s feud with Latto is merely an extension of Nicki’s, with Nicki using a more age-appropriate proxy to attack Latto since her initial arguments didn’t go over so well.
Super Bowl LVIII is this Sunday (February 11). You will have to tune into the big game to catch Usher’s highly-anticipated halftime performance. But as far as advertisers are concerned, they have no problem spoiling their forthcoming commercials. So far, the public has been treated to Ice Spice’s upcoming cameo. Yesterday (February 8), Dunkin previewed their ad slot starring “Lovin’ On Me” rapper Jack Harlow and Ben Affleck.
In the teaser, Affleck, a longtime Dunkin’ lover, battles with his late-night craves. As Affleck and Harlow sit in their car in what appears to be a Dunkin’ parking lot, the two verbally spar about right and wrong. The actor needs to be pulled in from the temptations. Unfortunately, Harlow isn’t there to be the “voice of reason,” at least not in what Affleck needs. Instead, Harlow pushes Affleck closer to his Dunkin’ fix. You will have to tune into the Super Bowl to see how the dilemma ends for Affleck.
Latto has let Ice Spice she wants all the smoke. After Ice Spice confirmed her “Think U Da Shit (Fart)” single was a diss to Latto, the “Put It On Da Floor” rapper fired back with “Sunday Service.”
Oop #IceSpice wants to know why she was in the back of #Latto’s “weak ass snippet”
Latto is making waves once again with her latest single, “Sunday Service.” The track not only showcases her lyrical ability, but also serves as a bold declaration of her authenticity and unapologetic attitude. As she steps into the studio, Latto throws on her Sunday best. Metaphorically inviting listeners to a musical church where she addresses skeptics and asserts her place in the industry. The chorus of “Sunday Service” immediately sets the tone for the track. Latto confidently raps, “I don’t sing R&B but, b**ch, I’m really her, f*ck wrong with n**gas?/How you let him cheat and take him back?/Must be your only n**ga.”
Moreover, this unfiltered expression of self-confidence and refusal to conform to expectations establishes Latto as an artist who is unafraid to challenge the norms of the industry. The lyrics of the chorus also touch on themes of resilience and independence, with Latto questioning societal norms around relationships and asserting her own strength. Moreover, throughout the song, she has an unapologetic nature and refusal to conform to societal expectations.
Furthermore, Latto’s ability to blend bold lyrics with a captivating beat creates a unique and powerful listening experience. The track’s production complements her assertive delivery. Making “Sunday Service” a memorable addition to Latto’s growing discography. The anticipation surrounding the single has been building for weeks. And its release has undoubtedly met the expectations of fans eagerly awaiting new material from the talented rapper.
In addition, Latto has consistently demonstrated her creative prowess not only in her music but also in her visuals, and “Sunday Service” is poised to be another testament to her artistic vision. In a music landscape often characterized by conformity, Latto’s “Sunday Service” stands out as a testament to the power of individuality and self-expression. The rapper’s unapologetic approach to her craft continues to resonate with audiences, solidifying her position as a force to be reckoned with in the industry. As the echoes of “Sunday Service” play throughout the weekend, Latto takes her listeners on a journey through a musical sermon. Preaching the gospel of authenticity, boldness, and unbridled talent.
Quotable Lyrics:
Cause I ain’t buyin’ what you sellin’, ho (Sellin’, ho) Think I’m the sh(t, b**ch, I know it, ho (Hot) Jesus walked on water, I got ice boilin’ though (Hey-hey) Miss me with that sucker sh*t, I’m not your baby momma
January’s chaos proved that 2024 has the potential to be a wild year, and February is only furthering that theory. Last month the hip-hop world saw Nicki Minaj lash out at Megan Thee Stallion over the latter’s “HISS” diss track, and the drama from that is still unfolding. Of course, the Houston Queen of Rap broke several records on Spotify after Minaj shot back at her nemesis with “Big Foot.” Now, it’s Ice Spice and Latto who are carrying on the femcee feud baton, as the blonde beauty gears up to drop her “Sunday Service” single this week.
On Monday (February 5), the 777 artist revealed the cover art for her first solo track of the year. It sees Latto posting braless in a white tank top and dark wash jeans, golden accessories around her neck, wrist, and fingers, along with a pair of hoops in her ears. The Atlanta-based baddie’s hair was worn in a curly updo, and her eyes were blacked out with a rectangular bar. As many are pointing out online, Latto’s background is a wall of photos of other rap divas, such as Ice Spice, Nicki Minaj, GloRilla, and Coi Leray, whose eyes are also blocked off in a similar fashion
“Since she wanna be in the background so bad… Latto said HERE ,” one person wrote, referencing a viral video where the redhead’s “Pretty Girl” visual plays behind her opp previewing new music with eyebrow-raising bars.
Ice Spice doesn’t seem too worried about Latto at this point in her career, though she and Nicki Minaj are likely fed up with the Grammy Awards after this year’s slip-up. The femcee duo was accidentally named the winner of the Best Rap Song prize, though Killer Mike took home the trophy. Read more about that at the link below, and check back in with HNHH this weekend to stream “Sunday Service.”
