Outkast legend Big Boi is about to take the reins on a new Pimp My Ride style Hulu series. The show, titled Big RV Remix will be hosted by Big Boi and business partner Janice Faison. Together they own Celebrity Trailers a company that aims to expand upon the luxury of larger vehicles. The show follows them as they take on extravagant requests from clients. Its official summary elaborates. “From trailers and campers to sprinters and school buses if it has wheels, Big Boi and Janice are ready to make their clients’ vehicle renovation dreams come true.”
The show is set to premiere on Hulu on July 21st. While Big Boi has made a number of appearances on a variety of shows this will be the rapper’s first time stepping into host duties. It’s another new medium the rapper is stepping into after trying his hand at baseball announcing last month. During a May 25th game between the Braves and Phillies, Big Boi got to step into the announcing booth to help call the game. He’s certainly made it clear that his versatile talents are in no way limited to just music.

Musically, Big Boi’s most recent full length outing came on Big Sleepover in 2021. The album was made with frequent Outkast and Big Boi collaborator Sleepy Brown. Big Boi has only been a part of one new single so far this year. He joined C-Bone on his new song “Tell C-Bone” back in March.
Last year, news broke that Big Boi was filing for divorce from his wife Sherlita Patton. In a recent interview, Tupac’s biological father, Billy Garland, shared his thoughts on Hulu’s docuseries on his son. Garland told The Art Of Dialogue that he initially denied an interview for the documentary, but was later convinced by director Allen Hughes. He stated that he didn’t know the footage itself would be used in Dear Mama: The Saga of Afeni & Tupac Shakur, and was disappointed when he saw it in the series.
“We did an interview for about two hours,” he explained. Garland went on to say, “After I saw the interview in the documentary, I was slightly disappointed, let’s just say that. I didn’t like it. It was more about something else, than about 2Pac, if you know what I’m saying. If I knew it was about ‘Dear Mama,’ I might’ve still did it, but I probably wouldn’t have. Not for nothing.” Later on in the interview, he discussed being asked if his son was bipolar, to which he responded that didn’t think so.
It was also recently announced that Tupac will be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Ana Martinez, shared a statement with LA Times about the star. “Tupac Shakur was a rapper, actor, activist, poet, and revolutionary,” she said. Martinez added, “This iconic artist has continued to be part of the zeitgeist for decades after his passing and will continue to be an important cultural figure for many years to come. Surely, as one of L.A.’s own, Tupac’s star will be added to the list of most visited stars.”
The fact that the icon is only now receiving a star confused various social media users and artists. “It took them 25 years + to give Tupac a star on Hollywood Blvd? Y’all got him f****ed all the way up,” YG wrote on Twitter. Boosie Badazz also shared his thoughts, writing, “Tupac ain’t ON THE HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME?” He added, “WTF THE DISRESPECT. Don’t worry he saying F**K YALL from the Grave.”

The company needed a product that could compete with the Anheuser-Busch-owned Eagle Snacks brand.
Now, there are claims that his story is a complete fabrication. Frito-Lay claims that the iconic, neon-red chip was created by a product committee in 1989. This was in order to fight Eagle Snacks in the Midwest. More specifically, it was in order to capitalize on the rise of inner-city bodegas. To be clear, Montañez did rise from plant worker to marketing director. Frito-Lay just refutes that he invented Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. But where’s the fun in corporate brand marketing?
“Flamin’ Hot” Tells Montañez’s Side Of The Story
Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives) brings Montañez’s origin story of the Flamin’ Hot Cheeto to life in her directorial debut. This is the story of a former gang member trying to turn his life around. With the Frito-Lay factory where he works under threat of closure, Montañez embraces the “it burns in a good way” spiciness of Latine cuisine to create a snack that will save the factory.
Jesse Garcia (From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series) stars as Montañez. He’s a family man with a troubled past and a heart of gold. Annie Gonzalez stars as Montañez’s ever-supportive wife, Judy. Additionally, there are big-name actors in major supporting roles. Dennis Haysbert (Far From Heaven, 24) plays Clarence, a fellow janitor who helps Montañez find his courage. Meanwhile, Tony Shalhoub(Monk, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) takes on the role of Pepsico executive and Cheetos brand manager, Roger Enrico. While its authenticity may be questionable, Flamin’Hot is set to be a heart-warming and tongue-tingling look at believing in yourself. Flamin’ Hot comes to Hulu on June 9.

Hulu Releases First Trailer For “Queenmaker: The Making of an It Girl”
Queenmaker: The Making of an It Girl is set to peel back the veneer and sheen of 2000s high society. The documentary is set to take us back to the era made famous by both the tabloids and shows like Gossip Girl. Brought to life by trans filmmaker Zackary Drucker (I Am Cait), the documentary draws you in with its feature interviews and nostalgic vibe before revealing its true purpose. Queenmaker: The Making of an It Girl isn’t about the It Girls themselves. Instead, the documentary pivots to focus on the people who launched these women into the national eye. It explores the rise of personal blogging and looks at the likes of Gawker and Perez Hilton.
However, its main focus is the story behind Park Avenue Peerage, a blog with seemingly unparalleled access to the inner circle. Furthermore, the site became a notorious ranker of who was “it” and who wasn’t. As the documentary unfolds, it it asks the question – who was behind Park Avenue Peerage? The website was clearly an inspiration for Gossip Girl, which was run by one of the heiresses. However, Hulu promises that if you don’t already know, the answer is not who you expect. Prepare for a journey to the past like no other. Queenmaker: Making of an It Girl lands on Hulu on May 17.
Tupac & Afeni Shakur’s Dear Mama documentary recently premiered, and it has fans buzzing. It has been nearly 27 years since the unsolved murder of Tupac Shakur, and the mythology has continued since. This Allen Hughes docuseries sheds light on the history and background of the infamous West Coast legend. Hughes is best known for his scripted films, such as Menace II Society and DeadPresidents, which offered insightful depictions of Black men. His introduction into documentary filmmaking with his twin brother Albert, American Pimp, did not live up to expectations.
However, since pursuing solo projects, Allen has found his stride with The Defiant Ones, a Grammy-winning and Emmy-nominated docuseries chronicling the successful partnership between Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine. Allen Hughes’s impressive documentary work has solidified his status as one of his generation’s most innovative and skilled filmmakers.
Hughes returns with his latest project, Dear Mama: The Saga of Afeni and Tupac Shakur, a five-hour docuseries that examines the role of Black activism in Shakur’s life and its blend into his music. In this ambitious series, Hughes parallels the lives of Tupac and his mother, Afeni, an outspoken leader in the Black Panther Party. Hughes delivers a complete account of the rapper by interweaving his story with his mother’s. Dear Mama offers real insights into the impact of the Shakur family across movements and generations. The series constructs an experience that offers an intimate and nuanced portrayal of their relationship. With Dear Mama, Hughes again proves his gifted and imaginative approach to documentary filmmaking.
At 17 years old, Tupac faced many challenges, including poverty and familial struggles. He pursued his dream of using poetry and music to spread his mother’s message of social activism. At the same time, Afeni, a well-known Black Panther activist, was haunted by her past. She worried about how it might impact Tupac’s promising future. Despite his difficulties, Tupac remained committed to his goals and continued using his art to advocate for vital issues.
The first episode of Dear Mama, “Panther Power,” starts with the impactful story behind one of Tupac’s most beloved songs. The rapper’s activism and revolutionary spirit, inspired by his mother’s involvement with the Panthers, drove him to intervene during a violent incident. He witnessed two white men harassing a Black motorist in Atlanta in 1993 on Halloween night.
Despite the victim attempting to calm the situation, one of the men hit the motorist and pointed a gun. Tupac witnessed the event, grabbed his weapon, and shot both assailants. It was later learned that the attackers were off-duty police officers. As law enforcement surrounded the hotel where Tupac and his friends stayed, he attempted to comfort the tense room by playing a song he had just recorded: “Dear Mama.” The song showcases Tupac’s musical talent and deep love and appreciation for his mother. Although the show portrays the shooting incident as legendary, it also exposes Tupac’s troubled past and struggles as a young Black man.
The first episode concludes just as powerfully as it began with the jaywalking arrest of Tupac. Following his arrest and beating for jaywalking, Shakur filed a well-known lawsuit against the Oakland Police. He sought $10 million in damages. The film emphasizes the poignant and heartwarming realization that even though he was enraged by the incident, he longed for his mother’s counsel.
Unfortunately, she was undergoing treatment in rehab at the time. Regarding sensitive subjects like violence, it can be tricky to strike the right tone. That’s undoubtedly a challenge Hughes faces when analyzing the tumultuous life of Tupac. While glorifying some of the more violent moments in his past may not sit well with some viewers, it’s a reminder that Tupac’s life teemed with complexities and contradictions. It’s up to the viewer to grapple with that truth. By taking on this complicated subject matter, DearMama forces viewers to confront the darker side of Tupac’s legacy, even as it celebrates his enduring impact on popular culture.
The premiere episode, which debuted on April 21, is now FX’s most-watched unscripted series premiere in the network’s history. The Dear Mama Hulu release date also performed exceptionally well.
Afeni’s story is captivating, from her leadership in the Black Panther Party to her imprisonment while pregnant with Tupac. She also battled addiction and financial struggles that contributed to her family’s constant displacement. What sets Dear Mama apart is its unconventional, non-linear narrative approach that weaves events from Afeni’s and Tupac’s lives. Despite her flaws, Afeni was a fierce advocate for justice and equality. She played a significant role in the movements of the late 20th century. The story of Afeni Shakur is one of courage and resilience. Her influence on her son Tupac’s life is undeniable.
The documentary takes a profoundly personal approach. It features a diverse cast of individuals who share their stories about the mother and son. From Tupac’s peers and cousins to his former collaborators at Death Row Records, the film provides a multifaceted perspective on the complex and enigmatic figures. Ultimately, the purpose behind Hughes’s documentary is the argument about Tupac’s constant drive. Additionally, it sheds light on Pac’s desire to protect people who are wronged, no matter the personal cost. The next Dear Mama Hulu release date for new episodes is April 28th.
Tupac’s aunt and Afeni’s sister, Glo, summarizes this mission by stating in the documentary, “Where did Tupac get the myth-building from? Afeni. And ‘Feni wanted the story told. Correctly. That means blemishes and all, so people can understand that whole thing of what makes a human being.”
The Kardashian family is nearly back on our screens, with less than a month until The Kardashians Season 3 drops on Hulu. It’s been a little under six months since Season 2 wrapped up but as the show recounts about a year at a time, so much has happened in the lives of the world’s most famous family.
Now fans have gotten their first glimpse at the show, as Hulu dropped an incredibly dramatic trailer for the season. However, while dramatic, it is incredibly on point for the Kardashians. There are tears, surgery, and drama stemming from every corner.
“The Kardashians” Season 3 Is Set To Be A Wild Ride
Relationships are set to be a focal point of The Kardashians Season 3. Not that relationships have ever been sidelined in this show, but a lot has happened in that area. The trailer literally opens with Kim being reminded by producers that when the show left off, she was still in a relationship with Kanye West. The fallout of their divorce dominates heavily in the trailer. While he doesn’t appear in the trailer, does this possibly indicate that we will also be seen Pete Davidson? Other relationship drama stems from Khloe and her on-and-off partner, Tristan Thompson. Season 3 will also be the debut of Khloe’s son with Thompson, who was born last year.
But there is also non-relationship drama. Khloe sports a facial bandage for most of the trailer, indicating that the season will feature her surgery to remove a precancerous melanoma. The season was also filmed in the run-up to Kourtney and Travis’ wedding, which spawns drama of its own. There are accusations of Kim using the wedding to further her business interests and show up Kourtney. All of a sudden, The Kardashians has some Succession vibes to it. But there’s also an element of self-reflection. The season promises a discussion of the effect the Kardashians have had on the world and the way they don’t want their children to become them. Hulu wants you to enter into Season 3 expecting to see the family like you’ve never seen them before. The Kardashians Season 3 debuts on Hulu on May 25.
However, this latest project, under his G-Unit Film & Television production company, will be different for a few reasons. 50’s new show, which is in early development, will move away from the dramas with which he has become associated. Furthermore, it will also premiere on a new platform for the rapper and entertainment mogul.
50 Cent To Create Tattoo Show For Hulu

50 has long been associated with the Starz network, which is home to his long-running Power franchise. However, his latest project will reportedly air on Hulu. According to Deadline, 50 will be producing an unscripted reality show called Redemption Ink. Per the show’s announcement, “Redemption Ink follows ex-gang and hate group members at a crossroads in their lives. As a first step toward redemption, these troubled individuals are covering up their gangland tattoos, which stand as constant reminders of their dark and complex histories. While sitting in the chair, they will share their emotional stories with the talented tattoo artists devoted to giving them hope.” 50 will serve as an executive producer for the show, which will follow the day-to-day life of the shop.
The show will focus on the eponymous tattoo shop run by Luis Gutierrez in Hutchinson, Kansas. Gutierrez was formerly incarcerated and after being released, dedicated his life to helping other people like him. His shop works to help remove or transform gang-related tattoos and similar iconography in order to help individuals who want to move on in their life. Redemption Ink shared the announcement soon after it was revealed by Deadline. The Facebook announcement spoke of “big things” that had been in the works for the shop. Hutchinson will also serve as a unique reality show location. The city of 40,000 people is located in south-central Kansas. There is currently no timetable for the show’s release.
Bad news for the Jack Harlow haters — which, apparently, includes fellow white rapper/hooper Lil Dicky — but the White Men Can’t Jump remake looks GREAT in its new trailer. All the hallmarks of the original remain intact: the trash talk, the friction between the two protagonists (and between them and their ladies), and even the classic Los Angeles hoop locations, including the “Watts Oasis” court (fire), the world-famous Venice Beach courts (cool, but open runs down there be bunk sometimes), and Angel’s Gate Park in San Pedro (trash, don’t play there unless you feel like chasing your ball into the Pacific Ocean).
Everything gets a modern update as well; Jack comments that his opposite, Sinqua Walls’, stereotyping him for being white is outdated (he was really stereotyping the ‘fit, which… understandable), the hustlers trade cash via apps (Jack even trash talks Sinqua’s choice of apps), and the famous Marques Johnson “Imma get my other gun” gets an upgrade courtesy of Elon Musk.
Also making appearances in the film are fellow rapper-turned-actor Vince Staples (my new favorite thanks to his recurring role on Abbott Elementary, although you could see the potential even in his five minutes in Dope) and the late, great Lance Reddick, as well as Teyana Taylor and Laura Harrier. There’s really something for everybody. This writer, at least, will be seated, as the kids say, on May 19, when the movie debuts on Hulu. Check out the trailer above.
White Men Can’t Jump is a classic 90s sports comedy. Woody Harrelson stars as Billy, a streetball hustler who lets his opponents underestimate him because he’s white. He forms an unlikely partnership with Sidney (Wesley Snipes) and the two become a renowned streetball pairing. However, Billy must balance his gambling with his home life. The film did well, finishing as the 16th highest-grossing film of 1992. Furthermore, it holds a 77% critics score and a 68% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Talk of a remake has been around since 2017, with Blake Griffin attached as a producer. However, the talk became reality when Jack Harlow was cast in 2022. White Men Can’t Jump is the directorial debut of music video and commercial director Calmatic. Written by black-ish showrunner Kenya Barris, Sinqua Walls (American Soul, The Blackening) will co-star alongside Harlow. DJ Drama is responsible for the film’s soundtrack.
“White Men Can’t Jump” Blends Nostalgia And Originality
The trailer released by Hulu paints broad similarities with the 90s original. Kamal (Walls) is a streetball player who is shown up by Harlow’s unassuming and as-yet-unnamed character. The two team up to hustle local streetball games, while both balancing their respective home lives. Kamal is seen as a liability while Harlow is viewed as a directionless hustler. In a reference to the original being 32 years old, Harlow quips that it’s “outdated” to judge his hoops ability on him being white. The late Lance Reddick briefly appears as Kamal’s father, who suffers from MS. The film also highlights performances by Teyana Taylor and Laura Harrier.
However, the biggest change from the original film appears to be the end goal. In the original, it’s a game against two streetball legends. The remake appears to build towards a flashy streetball tournament with a $500,000 prize. Additionally, it’s clear from the trailer that the roles have been swapped somewhat, with Wall’s Kamal being the central character. However, Harlow does not appear to play second fiddle, being given time to shine outright. The trailer pitches a fun remake of a 90s classic, with big-name stars and an updated feel. White Man Can’t Jump lands on Hulu on May 19.
