Bhad Bhabie Didn’t Really Make $52 Million From OnlyFans — But It’s Pretty Damn Close

When social media star turned rapper Bhabie Bhabie bragged that she’s earned over $50 million from OnlyFans since starting her account a little over a year ago, there were plenty of people who expressed doubt online. The 19-year-old, who basically lives on social media, has since responded to her skeptics, posting receipts on Instagram that show that while her net income from the site is less than $50 million figure, it’s not far off — and her gross profits are indeed well over it before OnlyFans takes its cut.

Of course, those figures are pretty much in line with the totals that she boasted when she started the account in April 2021, just days after her 18th birthday. She said that in the first six hours, she’d accumulated over $750,000 in subscriptions and $250,000 from message payments, giving her $1,000,000 on her first day. While that kind of earning was likely unsustainable long-term, a year later, she’s made a little under a million a week, proving that whatever people say about her, plenty of them are willing to pay to follow her antics.

Even if they weren’t, she has plenty of other revenue streams besides OnlyFans and music, including her investments in a dating app alongside her mentor Lil Yachty. Bhad Bhabie may still be a controversial figure six years after her viral moment on Dr. Phil, but no one can say she hasn’t made the most of her humble, meme-ready beginnings.

Bad Bunny Will Play A Wrestling Superhero In ‘El Muerto,’ A New ‘Spider-Man’ Spinoff Movie

Bad Bunny is one of the planet’s most successful musicians; He was Spotify’s most-streamed artist worldwide in both 2020 and 2021. He’s also proven himself to be quite the multi-hyphenate by building up his IMDb page with roles in movies like F9 and Bullet Train. Now he’s preparing for his biggest acting opportunity yet: Yesterday, Sony announced El Muerto, a Spider-Man spinoff movie starring Bad Bunny as the titular character, IGN reports.

The movie was introduced by Sony Motion Picture Group president Sanford Panitch at CinemaCon and it’s set to be released in theaters on January 12, 2024. This role will make Bad Bunny Marvel’s first live-action Latino lead.

IGN describes the El Muerto character, “In the comics, El Muerto is a super-powered wrestler who has had their mask and abilities passed down through the generations. To become worthy, new wrestlers would need to prove themselves against El Dorado. Juan-Carlos Estrada Sanchez was one of these chosen descendants, but he was unable to fight El Dorado when his father Marcus Estrada presented him. As a result, Marcus sacrificed himself to save his son. Following the tragic death, El Dorado would give Juan-Carlos ten years to become stronger to face him again and earn the right to become El Muerto.”

Deadline notes of the character’s connection to Spider-Man, “The character of El Muerto, aka Juan Carlos, was a super powered wrestler who originally fought Spider-Man in a charity wrestling match in which he nearly unmasked the webslinger before being stung by Spider-Man with a paralyzing poison. After his oppressor El Dorado came to claim his life, he was saved by Spider-Man, after which the two team up to defeat Dorado.”

The role seems to be a perfect fit for Bad Bunny, given how involved he’s been with the WWE lately.

The Weeknd’s HBO Series ‘The Idol’ Will Undergo An Overhaul As It Heads In A ‘New Creative Direction’

Last summer, a little over a year after he released his chart-topping fourth album After Hours, it was announced that The Weeknd would star in an upcoming HBO series called The Idol. The show would also be co-written and co-executive produced with Reza Fahim Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, with all three being listed as co-creators of the series. The Idol was revealed to be about a female pop singer who falls in love with an L.A. club owner who also leads a secret cult. While some were looking forward to the series’ release, they’ll have to wait a bit longer thanks to an announcement from HBO.

According to Variety, The Idol will undergo an overhaul due to the decision to head in a “new creative direction.” HBO shared a statement with the publication where it expanded on the new decision. “The Idol’s creative team continues to build, refine, and evolve their vision for the show and they have aligned on a new creative direction,” HBO said. “The production will be adjusting its cast and crew accordingly to best serve this new approach to the series. We look forward to sharing more information soon.”

HBO did not reveal what sparked the decision to head in a new creative direction.

The announcement comes after The Weeknd teamed up with Kaytranada for a new remix of “Out Of Time.”

FKA Twigs Enjoys A Carefree And Spirited Night With Friends In Her Video For ‘Which Way’

FKA Twigs’ return to the musical world has been nothing short of eventful. The singer released her third project Caprisongs at the top of the year, and it was her first full-length release since 2019’s Magdalene. Caprisongs arrived with 17 songs and features from The Weeknd, Rema, Jorja Smith, Daniel Caesar, and more. The project was also highlighted by her “Tears In The Club” single with The Weeknd. Since its release, FKA Twigs has been relentless with music videos for songs attached to the project and she returns with a new one just days after dropping a video for “Honda.”

“Which Way” is the latest in a slew of tracks from Caprisongs that have received the visual treatment. In it, FKA Twigs enjoys a carefree and spirited moment with some friends as they run through the late-night streets while showing off their smiles and the group’s great chemistry. The video for “Which Way,” a track that features an appearance from Dystopia, comes after viewers watched FKA Twigs float through the streets of London with a tempting aura in her “Honda” video.

In addition to “Which Way” and “Honda,” FKA Twigs has also released videos for “Papi Bones,” “Bliss,” “Jealousy,” Meta Angel,” and “Tears In The Club.”

You can watch the visual for “Which Way” above.

Pusha T Shares His Thoughts On Kanye West And Kid Cudi’s Beef: ‘It F*cking Sucks’

Kanye West and Kid Cudi had a very public fallout at the top of the year, just weeks before Kanye released his eleventh album Donda 2. Their beef, which is still alive today, was centered on Kanye’s frustration with Cudi and Pete Davidson’s friendship, and because of that, Kanye announced that Cudi would not appear on Donda 2. More recently, Kanye and Cudi appeared together on Pusha T’sRock N Roll” on his newly-released It’s Almost Dry album, leaving many to believe that the two patched up their differences. However, Cudi made it clear that the beef was very much alive.

In a recent interview with Vulture, Pusha T shared his thoughts on Kanye and Cudi’s fallout. “It f*cking sucks,” Pusha said. “You know Cudi is my f*cking brother to the end. Just navigating these relationships, this brotherhood, the arguing … it gets public.” He continued, “It’s one thing for us to argue. We all argue — that’s not a problem. It gets out there, whether it’s Ye bickering first, or Cudi coming back with what he says. It’s super-fu**ed up.”

Pusha later recalled the “great energy” that was in the studio when the trio collaborated for “Rock N Roll,” a record that samples Beyonce’s “1+1.” “The day we made this record, everybody was so f*cking happy,” he said. “Ye’s chopping the Beyoncé sample, Cudi happens to come in that day. We see each other, and I hadn’t seen him in a while. He’s like, ‘I gotta get on a record. Are you crazy?’ Cudi did, like, three or four different references. Beyoncé cleared the sample. There was so much great energy around the making of that record.”

You can listen to “Rock N Roll” in the video above and check out Pusha’s full interview on Vulture here.

It’s Almost Dry is out now via GOOD Music and Def Jam. You can stream it here.

Sky Ferreira Signed With A New Music Publisher For Her Highly-Anticipated Sophomore Album

Recent teasers led fans to believe that Sky Ferreira was finally going to release the follow-up to her debut album, Night Time, My Time, and she even seemed to share a clip of a new song called “Don’t Forget.” Don’t worry Sky, we haven’t! In the meantime, Sky seems to be making moves behind closed doors, too. According to a report from Variety, she signed with a “global independent music publisher” called Third Side Music.

It’s been about nine years since her first album came out, she’s been slowly but surely releasing new music, like 2019’s “Downhill Lullaby,” and collaborating with artists like Charli XCX on left-field pop tunes. According to Variety Third Side Music’s Creative VP/Director of A&R, Brontë Jane, was the one to sign Sky. So far, the company’s roster also includes artists like Courtney Barnett, Future Islands, and Kurt Vile. Sky is listed on the website as one of the publisher’s clients, and in their “recently additions” section.

“Sky is an unparalleled career artist who has proven to be a true visionary with her craft time and time again,” Jane told Variety. “I’m honored to welcome someone so incredibly singular to the TSM family.” If this means more music is definitely on the way, then it’s good news in my book.

The Innovative Past, Present & Future Of Afrobeats Star Tekno

As the night grows longer at Balneario de Carolina, there is still no sign of Tekno. Hours before the Afrobeats sensation is scheduled to perform at Afro Nation’s debut evening in Puerto Rico, I receive a text that Tekno, along with budding Afrobeats artist CKay, is on the same delayed jet. According to his manager, Mario, aka Rio, Tek is coming from Atlanta where he had linked up with Toronto producer WondaGurl. It’s one of the very first things I try to ask Tekno about when he arrives but he’s tight-lipped about it.

Hailing from Nigeria, Tekno’s work with A-list American artists is nothing new. His ability to whisk melodic harmonies and live instruments into something that sounds familiar and unknown at the same time is unmatched. Clearly, it doesn’t go unnoticed. In 2019, Drake and Swae Lee tapped in with him for “Won’t Be Late” and Beyonce infused The Lion King: The Gift with Tekno’s essence on “Don’t Jealous Me.” With the Afrobeats sound taking over the globe, more collaboration across nations is expected. However, a chance to be part of a Beyonce-anything is no small feat.

“Well for one, I didn’t meet Beyonce yet,” he reveals when he arrives. “It was just this camp in LA and we know everyone is coming here. This is the meeting point where we all meet together and make music. For me, as an artist, I freestyle music. I just literally went in there and listened to the songs they had. I really liked that beat. I did my thing on it and somehow, I made the album. There was no personal sh*t where I was involved with Beyonce or something. But hopefully, I will do that.”

Beyonce and Drake aren’t the only high-profile artists that are keen on the sounds of Tekno Miles. Grammy Award-winning musicians Elton John and Billie Eilish (who really loves Tekno) are entranced with his futuristic musicality, too. As an acclaimed, musical innovator of the current Afrobeats era, his colorful signature soundman-ship is a vibrancy that cannot be tamed — as it is meant to be admired.

“These people that you mentioned are people that are making music on the highest level,” he says. “They do their research, and as an artist, you listen to a plethora of sounds. These people are all saying that they like my sh*t? All I got to do is keep doing what I’m doing. It’s not like I try to prove a point to nobody. It’s a good thing to know this kind of people f*ck with your sh*t. I don’t have to come out and try and tell nobody, ‘Oh look, I’m the best. I’m this, I’m that.’ It speaks for itself.” As the saying goes: real recognize real.

During our interview, Tek relaxes on a small couch inside of his trailer, conspicuously adorned with a black Balenciaga tee with diamond-encrusted chains on top of diamond-encrusted chains, accessorized with a black and red Dolce & Gabanna bucket hat and dark shades. The small space is filled with people taking pictures, greeting each other, and buzzing with excitement. Eventually, Rio clears nearly everyone out of the trailer. CKay’s “Emiliana” can be heard booming across the festival grounds, which means Tekno is up next.

However, there seems to be a problem. The festival’s organizers are running out of time and wondering if Tekno will be available to perform tomorrow. The festival is getting clowned on Twitter for replacing Burna Boy with Rick Ross and now because CKay and Tekno were behind schedule due to the delayed jet. The organizers were stressed and pleading with Rio. Rio’s answer to them is a flat no so a rush to the stage commences.

Through the rain and midnight sky, the crowd is still packed. Explosive energy overflows from the audience, surrounding Tekno as he jams through a string of his popular cuts like his breakout hit “Pana,” “Mufasa” and his self-appointed North Star, “Skeletun.” Soon, the stress from the night washed away with the rain. The platform turned into a party. Randomly, Michael Blackson was all up on stage dancing and singing to every single song.

“I feel like whoever is trying to get to know Tek more, I feel like you need to listen to ‘Skeletun,’” he suggests after the show. “Everyone got their preference and I have a plethora of music out, so they’re going to choose for themselves. But, I feel like ‘Skeletun’ is a good way to get in. It’s different. It’s unique. It’s one of the songs I made with my eyes closed.”

Tek also performs his melodic summer-ready vibe “Jinja” — which is part of a collection of free-spirited singles that are not tied to any specific project. Tekno is making music in freestyle mode, rather than working toward a full-length project. “[‘Jinja’] is another way of saying someone excites you or when you see them, they make you smile,” he said of the song. “Jinja can be however you decide to describe it. It could be like how LeBron James plays and it gives you ‘jinja.’ It depends on how you want to put it.” The song indeed gives “jinja” and should be a no-brainer add to summer playlists everywhere.

spotted @CKay + @tekno miles fresh off the @Afro Nation stage ✨🙌🏽 #fyp #afronation #ckay #tekno #teknomiles #afrobeats

♬ love nwantiti (ah ah ah) – CKay

Tekno’s exit from the festival is just as chaotic as it was getting to the stage. Loads of black service cars and sprinters are waiting for us to board them as we step off the stage. As we walked towards the black fleet, Tekno and CKay crossed paths. Quickly, cameras begin flashing to capture a special moment between two trailblazing artists representing the now and future of Afrobeats.

“That’s actually the first time I met CKay,” he told me. “We just literally flew to play the show. So if anything plays out in the future, we’ll let y’all know.” With Tek — if you haven’t learned by now — the music will come when it arrives. For now, he’s just giving the fans something to vibe out to, giving them “Jinja” — both the song and the feeling.

Pusha T Updates Fans On Collaborations With Nas, The Weeknd, And Tyler The Creator

AMA (ask me anything) sessions aren’t just a great way for fans to get to know artists better or for artists to promote their new work, they’re also useful in manifesting interesting collaborations — both for artists and fans who want to see their favorites working together. Pusha T, who just put out his new album, It’s Almost Dry, logged onto Twitter for a curated #AskPusha session via Twitter Music, and among the usual silly questions (Push had a particularly aggressive response to “is a hot dog a sandwich?”), he also gave status updates on collaborations with a number of fan-favorite artists.

After revealing that his Nigo collaboration “Hear Me Clearly” originally featured rap OG Nas, fans naturally wondered whether Pusha would drop a remix. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like that’s in the cards for now. “No we probably will not hear that remix,” he replied before offering some hope. “Maybe another song in the future tho…”

Another rapper fans wanted to know about was Tyler The Creator, with whom Pusha previously worked on the single “Trouble On My Mind.” However, it doesn’t look like that one’s coming anytime soon either, as Pusha wisecracked, “Absolutely I would but this nutcase only asks me to go Miami house hunting with him…”

Push posited his own dream collab when another fan asked if there were any Toronto artists he’d work with — probably trying to bait him into a Drake-related response. While he avoided the low-hanging fruit, he offered a surprisingly sincere reply that wasn’t too many degrees from the 6 God himself: The Weeknd.

And among other questions, Pusha answered how he felt about those fans of his music who wouldn’t appear to be his “target audience.”

All in all, #AskPusha turned out to be insightful and possibly even fruitful if it means Tyler The Creator and Push coming together — or maybe even a cokestravaganza featuring the powder’s two biggest promoters.
