Offset Roasts Cardi B For Not Living Her Raps Yet Again By Showing Off Her (Burnt) Chicken Wings

It has been a rollercoaster relationship between Grammy winner Cardi B and multiplatinum recording artist Offset. The two have made music together, had two children, and nearly divorced, but through it all, they have persevered and delivered fans some entertaining moments. The latest comes in Offset showing off some not so delectable-looking wings that his Bronx wife cooked on Tuesday (May 24). To be fair, one tray looked edible but the other looked beyond the slight burn some people enjoy in their chicken. The icing on the cake is Offset singing “Shorty burnt the wings!”

While the act itself is a bit discouraging, it also recalls her memorable line from “WAP,” the smash 2020 collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion. Cardi rapped “I don’t cook, I don’t clean / But let me show you how I got this ring,” alluding to the other areas she has added value to Offset’s song. The “Bad & Boujee” rapper previously exposed her for lying about the cleaning aspect of the line back in November 2020 as well. Cardi is shown in a video sweeping the floor. Offset captioned the post with a simple “Liar” in all capital letters.

Cardi B’s attempt to try new things is laudable and aligns with her Facebook series Cardi Tries where she learns tennis, ballet, and teaching. On the music side, it’s been quite some time since we heard from the “Bodak Yellow” artist but she says the new album is on the way once some technical difficulties have been cleared up.

Kim Kardashian Apologizes To Her Family For Kanye West’s Treatment

Now that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are officially divorced, they’ve demonstrated divergent approaches to taking stock of their relationship. While Kanye has determined that he wants that old thing back (which somehow involves gaslighting her over her fashion choices), Kim apparently feels differently — and has pretty adamant about expressing it. But, of course, their relationship didn’t only affect them; over the course of the past few years, Kanye has dragged Kim’s family into their drama, including lashing out at them on social media during the contentious divorce process.

In Thursday’s (May 26) episode of the family’s new Hulu show The Kardashians, Kim addresses the effects that Kanye’s antics may have had on her sisters and mom. “I do recognize the impact that my relationship has had on my family,” she says in a clip provided by TMZ. “And I’ve never had the opportunity to just say: I’m sorry, guys.” Her apology appears to have been sparked by a recent song of Kanye’s, in which Kim says “he’s talking mad sh*t about me.” While the song isn’t specified in the clip, it was likely one of many songs from Kanye’s album Donda 2 speaking about their breakup.

Fortunately for Kim and co., the song itself probably didn’t get too much play; Kanye only made his album available via the $200 stem player, which means only those who purchased the device (or bootlegged the album) heard whatever she felt was so disparaging. Meanwhile, in a previous episode, she praised Kanye for allegedly retrieving the remainder of her sex tape with Ray J — something Ray J himself disputed.

Post Malone’s Full ‘Twelve Carat Toothache’ Tracklist Features Doja Cat, Gunna, and The Kid Laroi

The release of Post Malone’s new album Twelve Carat Toothache is now just over a week away and ahead of then, the album’s tracklist has been unveiled.

When it comes to collaborations, there are a few we already knew about. Malone’s Roddy Ricch collaboration “Cooped Up” was released as a single, as was his joint effort with The Weeknd, “One Right Now.” Malone also recently teased the Fleet Foxes collaboration “Love/Hate Letter To Alcohol” after performing it on Saturday Night Live. Beyond that, also appearing on the album are Doja Cat, Gunna, and The Kid Laroi.

Meanwhile, Malone offered a statement on the Uvalde, Texas school shooting, tweeting yesterday, “All of my love and heart go out to the families of Robb elementary and to everyone affected by this tragedy. In the next little while, we’ll be doing our best to show our support and help in any way we can. I love you.”

The Super Bowl Halftime Show Will No Longer Be Sponsored By Pepsi

Pepsi has announced that the company will no longer sponsor the NFL’s Super Bowl Halftime Show after 10 years as the musical partner for the show. In that time, fans have seen memorable performances from the likes of Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, The Weekend, and most recently, Dr. Dre and friends. Although the beverage company didn’t give a reason for the change, a release on Twitter thanked the 26 musical acts who played the show over the past decade.

“After 10 years of iconic Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show performances, we have decided it’s time to pass the mic,” Pepsi’s official Twitter posted. “Thank you to the amazing artists and fans who helped us create some incredible moments along the way. Now on to the next stage… ” A follow-up tweet recounted some of the Halftime Show’s accolades over the past few years. Pepsi touted, “26 musical acts representing 168 Grammys and almost 1,000 Billboard hits have rocked the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show stage over the past 10 years.”

There have been no similar announcements from the official NFL or Super Bowl Twitter accounts, the latter of which hasn’t been updated since December of 2021. Meanwhile, a press statement from Pepsi says that the company’s overall partnership with the NFL will continue, introducing new programming, sports drinks, and activations for the NFL.

DreamDoll Puts Her Own Twist On A Wu-Tang Classic With ‘Ice Cream Dream’ Featuring French Montana

Batten down the hatches, Gen X — the kids are coming for your pop culture. While millennials are finding out firsthand what had our parents ruffled when Diddy and Will Smith sampled ’80s R&B classics for their late-90s hip-hop hits thanks to Latto’s “Big Energy” and Jack Harlow’s “First Class,” another rap newcomer is reaching even further back to get her hands on one of the genre’s sacred cows for sample sacrifice. DreamDoll’s “Ice Cream Dream” featuring French Montana borrows the oh-so-familiar guitar loop from Earl Klugh’s “A Time for Love” that made Raekwon’s “Ice Cream” so recognizable.

In addition to flipping the New York boom-bap staple into a drill rap block bruiser, the video for the new song also borrows the concept from Rae’s original video for “Ice Cream,” casting DreamDoll as an ice cream truck driver who serves her delicious wares while describing all the flavors of men she enjoys. Meanwhile, French Montana appears in the latter half of the video, becoming the latest rapper to reference The Will Smith Oscars Slap as the ice cream truck burns behind the two rappers.

DreamDoll, a relative newcomer to the hip-hop scene, has begun to make a name for herself, appearing alongside hitmakers like Fivio Foreign, CJ, Erica Banks, and Rick Ross as she expands her growing discography.

Snoop Dogg Explains Why He Turned Down $2 Million To DJ For Michael Jordan, Who He’s Never Met

In addition to being one of hip-hop’s most beloved cultural figures and a rap icon, Snoop Dogg has had a successful career as a DJ. So successful, in fact, that he says he was recently offered $2 million to DJ at an event thrown by Michael Jordan — an opportunity he turned down despite never having met the NBA’s GOAT. Snoop recounted the incident for Logan Paul’s podcast, Impaulsive.

“One of the craziest deals I turned down was $2 million to DJ for a Michael Jordan event,” he recalled. “And I’ve never met Michael Jordan, and I wanna meet him.” He also elaborated on why he turned it down — which boiled down to having too many prior engagements. “I was doing some other sh*t, I had sh*t to do and I had way more customers before I get to you,” he said. “I never met Michael Jordan, and I wanna meet him, and I wanna meet him on a different—I don’t wanna meet him on no DJing. I wanna meet him as a fan, as a boss.”

Snoop imagined what he’d say to the legendary hooper. “It’s like, ‘Mike, I’ve loved you since North Carolina, I’m a big fan of yours, I love what you do, you one of the greatest to ever do it. Give me a couple of secrets on how you did this. Can I get a picture with you? You wanna smoke a blunt? Hey man, it’s been real.’”

DDG Breaks Down The Meaning Behind ‘Elon Musk’ In ‘Behind The Video’

After Uproxx Studios’ How I Blew Up returned earlier this week to track the rise of Sonny Digital from bedroom beatmaker to in-demand, pioneering producer, Behind The Video also returns to highlight DDG’s video for “Elon Musk” featuring Gunna. Uproxx’s Steven Vasquez gets the scoop from DDG on the video’s concept and creation. In the video, DDG and Gunna break atmosphere to explore outer space, much like the song’s namesake has planned to do with his SpaceX company.

As usual, there are a few fan comments for DDG to reply to as well. When one says that “everything DDG did he spoke into existence,” DDG agrees, “That’s the only way you can make stuff come true. If you truly believe in yourself, you gotta manifest it. You’ve gotta give yourself a goal that you know you’re gonna reach.” He also recounted how he got higher than he’d ever been by underestimating a weed gummy and explained how Gunna went from being a work acquaintance to a genuine friend. “The whole hook I freestyled,” DDG brags. “I just went down a rabbit hole of Elon Musk and SpaceX and it just inspired the thought.”

Lorde Praises Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’ In A Letter To Her Fans

Perhaps Kendrick Lamar’s music may soon be in rotation on Lorde’s Solarsystym station on Sonos: Today, in an email sent to fans, the “Solar Power” singer shared an update with her fans, just over two weeks after her US tour for Solar Power came to an end.

She shared some of the books she’s been reading, including Fleur Jaeggy’s Sweet Days Of Discipline and Danyel Smith’s Shine Bright: A Very Personal History Of Black Women In Pop. Additionally, she let us know the music she’s been listening to lately, which includes Kendrick Lamar’s new album, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.

“I’m loving Kendrick,” she said. “I cannot get over the most popular and influential artist in modern music displaying a working nervous system, admitting mistakes, trying to process intergenerational trauma and prejudice. I love the way the album opens, the pace and heat of the first few songs, and later ‘Count Me Out,’ the build and strings in ‘Auntie Diaries’ … special.”

Could this mean a collab between the two is in order? Perhaps. But given the fact that both artists love to take long hiatuses in between projects, it’s best not to get our hopes up that we’ll hear a collaboration in the near future.

Kehlani’s ‘Melt’ Video In Brazil Is A Sweet Depiction Their Budding Relationship With 070 Shake

Last month, Kehlani released their third album, Blue Water Road, marking their first album put out since coming out to the world as Queer. The singer had teased the fact that Blue Water Road was, “…vastly different than anything I’ve ever created.” And while there’s a new sense of confidence in these passionate tunes, to long-time fans, it’s still that same sultry vocalist from hits like “Gangsta” and “Nights Like This.”

With the new video for “Melt,” we get the first intimate look at Kehlani’s relationship with their new partner, rapper 070 Shake. In the clip, the pair are in Brazil, sitting at an idyllic outdoor café at opposite tables. They each swig their cachaça at the same time and then meet up in a jungle abode to romance each other.

Speaking on the track itself, Kehlani said in a statement, “It’s about the feeling of laying up with someone, cuddling, or even being sexually intimate, and you want to fall in their skin.” And lyrics like “I can’t tell where your hair ends and mine begins,” and, “Across the bed feels way too far,” really raise the stakes for a pure depiction of their intimacy in the beautifully shot clip that also captures the essence of the pace of life in Brazilian so well.

Quavo Seeks An Invite To Drake’s Basketball League: ‘They Don’t Want Us At OVO Arena’

Drake’s fondness for the game of basketball is evident in his many, many courtside appearances at NBA games. It’s also clear in the videos he posts from his in-home basketball court where he hosts pickup games with his friends and trains his son to play like LeBron James. However, it looks like one of his friends is feeling left out. Quavo, who is a hoops junkie in his own right, working with grassroots leagues in California and balling out in NBA2k22, lobbied for inclusion in the fun at The Sanctuary (the nickname of Drake’s home court) in a post on Instagram.

“@champagnepapi They don’t want Us At The OVO Arena So We Take 7 Footers Instead,” he captioned a video on his Instagram Story. In the video, Quavo faces off with a taller opponent at the Georgia Tech gym, showing off some nasty handles and quick footwork to shake his defender for a stepback 20-footer. It’s an impressive combo and the sort of thing that could have Quavo moving up LeBron James’ rappers-who-hoop rankings, where Lil Durk currently reigns supreme.

Personally, I’d love to see a rapper-centric league where the likes of Quavo, Drake, 2 Chainz, Durk, and official professional player J. Cole can square off to show their other talents. For now, we’ll have to settle for social media videos or maybe Jack Harlow’s White Men Can’t Jump remake and Kawhi Leonard commercials.
