Comethazine Shocks Fans With Transition Into Rock Music Following Two-Year Hiatus

Comethazine is an artist who burst onto the scene back in 2018 with his now-iconic track “Walk.” At the time, the song was known for its incredible music video that came courtesy of Lyrical Lemonade. Furthermore, the track had skeletal production and murderous bars that made the artist come across as a sociopath. Overall, it was a recipe for success that carried over into the artist’s Bawskee projects. For five years, Comethazine remained consistent with his craft, until he just up and left with no explanation.

Yesterday, Comethazine made his return to Instagram for the first time in two years. Fans were pretty stunned to hear from him, however, it was nice to know that he’s doing alright. In fact, it appears as though the artist has come through with a rebrand of sorts. He is now rocking a mustache and is dressing like a ’70s rockstar. Additionally, it looks like he’s been taking some guitar lessons. In the video down below, Comethazine can be heard playing a lick, and it sounds pretty amazing.

Comethazine Is Trying Something New

As you can imagine, social media was flooded with fans who were shocked by the change. When you think about Comethazine’s early work, it’s hard to imagine him pivoting this hard. That said, it is always cool to watch an artist evolve. Clearly, he has a passion for rock, and he wanted to go away for a couple of years to perfect his craft. Hopefully, he follows this up with a new song or even an album in the not-so-distant future. We’d love to know if he is exploring the rock sound further or if he is simply engaging in some well-thought-out promo.

Kai Cenat And Druski Accused Of Colorism For Comments About Fellow Stream Guest

Kai Cenat and Druski are facing allegations of colorism after Druski said that a woman also appearing on Cenat’s stream had “manly” features. While a number of online commenters were confused how the remarks were colorist when they didn’t mention her skin, the answer is quite simple. Druski’s comments fed into the longstanding sentiment that Black women are less visually feminine than their non-Black counterparts. Another term used to describe this attitude towards Black women is misogynoir. However, the backlash has been met with just as vocal support.

Neither Cenat nor Druski have addressed the controversy. Meanwhile, many people have leapt to the pair’s defense. “They literally said nothing about her skin tone. Y’all had adopted this “IG baddie” aesthetic that is also very similar to the T girls, & not all men like it. & I’m not debating with anybody. 😘,” one person argued. Several other commenters would proceed to make incredibly transphobic comments to defend that Druski was simply expressing his “preference”. Ice Spice Congratulates Kai Cenat On Streaming Award, Fans Eye Their Flirty Vibes

Meanwhile, is there something between Kai Cenat and Ice Spice? Fans are unsure what to think after seeing an exchange on social media. “congrats kaiiiii >.<,” Spice wrote, responding to news that Cenat had once again won “streamer of the year”. “Appreciate You Gorgeous ❤,” Cenat wrote in response, sparking speculation amongst fans that something might be going on between the pair. Others noted that Cenat responded to Spice within a minute of her posting her message to him.

Spice has previously appeared on Cenat’s stream and went as far as to send him a Christmas present last year. However, Cenat’s affections are rather fickle. She claims that a lot of this has to do with Tasha’s mother being accused of giving her father aids as he was in hospice care, dying of cancer. The internet star even recalled trying to initiate a physical altercation over the accusations, though she says nothing ever came of it.

She goes on to drag Gloria for “begging” the rapper to be a part of their child’s life on Love & Hip Hop, celebrating the fact that she’s finally had “the last laugh.” Clearly, the entire situation is pretty messy, but she isn’t afraid to break it all down.

Tyreek Hill Wasn’t Pleased Rick Ross Livestreamed His House Fire, But Ross Did His best To Explain

In January, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill suffered a house fire at his mansion in Southwest Ranches. According to TMZ, the fire caused over $2 million in damages but he wasn’t sweating it, as he was simply grateful no one in his family was hurt. However, he was disappointed in his neighbor, Rick Ross, who went on Instagram Live and streamed his reactions to the fire.

Hill addressed Ross’ stream on The Pivot Podcast, where he said, “I just wanna say, Rick Ross, I can’t vibe with you. I can’t f*ck with you no more, bro. You ain’t even come over. You had the audacity to talk to a fireman, you got my number. You get on Twitter, post me all over Twitter after what me and my family went through. You supposed to be the neighborhood hero.”

Earlier this week, the Port Of Miami rapper did his best to dispel the NFL star’s anger, explaining in another live stream that he wasn’t “picking on” Hill. “I wasn’t picking on you at all,” he said. “First of all, I’m assuming you are All Pro wealthy. Great homeowners insurance, who go get new porcelain floors, marble walls, pillars; so it ain’t nothing to pick on you about.”

“More importantly, your beautiful mother and your family was straight,” he continued. “They was straight. I didn’t film none of them, homie. And let’s not act like I’m the one that premiered the fire to the world. It was five helicopters circling over your crib and my crib. We stay right across the street from each other. Questlove Announced The Release Date For His Next Book, ‘Hip-Hop Is History’

At this point, Questlove has so many jobs, it’s not only hard to keep track of them all but one also wonders when exactly he has the time to do so many things without the assistance of a secret twin, a la The Prestige. He’s joked about it himself, but it’s getting out of hand; in addition to organizing the Grammys’ hip-hop tribute in 2023, organizing the annual Roots Picnic, directing the live-action Aristocats remake for Disney, and curating playlists for his celebrity friends, he’s a best-selling author. In that last capacity, he just announced the release date for his upcoming book, Hip-Hop Is History, a deep-dive follow-up to his fifth book, Music Is History.

Questlove announced Hip-Hop Is History last August, so that turnaround is pretty impressive. At the time, he said, “No one asked me to, but I’m carrying that burden. And for all those who are present and accounted for, there is something to celebrate with hip hop’s 50th.There may be a lot of water under that bridge. Our disdain for looking in the rearview mirror is entrenched in pain and trauma. But as a child of legacy and nostalgia culture, I want to be the GPS for people to celebrate that thing called hip-hop.”

Hip-Hop Is History is out on June 11 via Auwa Books, Questlove’s own imprint.
