Charlamagne Mocks Floyd Mayweather: “I’m Telling My Kids This Was Selma”

Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul are set to go head to head with each other in an exhibition boxing match on June 6th. Considering Mayweather doesn’t have anything to lose in terms of his 50-0 standing, the match is more of a scrimmage for the boxing legend than anything. Still, to build up anticipation for the event, the pair came together for a customary press conference yesterday (May 7) ahead of the event.

While the event went smoothly, perhaps the most intriguing part came when Paul snatched Mayweather’s hat off. From there, Mayweather and his security go after Paul, with Mayweather eventually putting him into a headlock. Many photos from the physical altercation have circulated the internet, with Charlamagne tha God wasting no time giving them meme treatment.

Sharing a black and white photo from the altercation of Floyd reaching for Paul in the moments after grabbing his hat, the controversial radio presenter joked, “I’m a tell my kids this was Selma in 1965.”

He continued, “A turning point in the Civil Rights Movement they knucked, we bucked…..” Reaching nearly 150,000 likes, the popular meme format elects using funny photos for a modern retelling of history.

The Selma March in March of 1965 notably turned violent after 600 or so protestors faced brutal attacks on the Edmund Pettus Bridge by oncoming state troopers. Footage of the attacks collectively shocked the nation and became a turning point for Civil Rights in the United States.

Benny The Butcher Taps Che Noir & Klass Murda For “Love Left”

Benny The Butcher has been on a tear these days, seemingly exhibiting a Midas touch when it comes to the bars. Today, he continues the tradition with another new single, this time enlisting Che Noir and Klass Murda for the hard-hitting banger “Love Left.” Immediately conjuring up the eighties with a larger-than-life vocal sample.

Setting off is The Butcher himself, who reflects on themes of betrayal and the high cost of success. “You the type to change up on me soon as you get around company,” he spits. “Looking for attention, speaking on business publically / suddenly I’m supposed to forget it like you fuck with me, when the knife you stabbed in my back is still stuck in me.” Che Noir holds it down for the second verse, proving that she’s not one to be underestimated when it comes to the pen. Check it out for yourself below, and sound off with your thoughts on “Love Left” in the comments below.

Fans React To J. Cole’s New Song “i n t e r l u d e”

In case it wasn’t already abundantly clear, North Carolina rapper J. Cole is going down in history as one of the best to ever do it. He has proven time and time again that he’s one of the world’s most elite wordsmiths on the microphone, spitting with raw emotion and consistently managing to create tongue-twisters and thought-provoking rhyme patterns in his music. With only one week left before the release of his upcoming studio album The Off-Season, Cole decided that it was time to return the real, dropping the lead single “i n t e r l u d e” on Friday night. While the record may simply be an interlude, it has his fans convinced that there aren’t very many people that can out-stage the rapper.

As reactions continue to pour in across social media for J. Cole’s latest single release, people appear to have reached a consensus that the Dreamville rapper is likely one of the greatest to have ever rapped on a large scale. Cole has been trending since before the song was released and right now, there’s a pretty dominant ratio of people who love the track in comparison to those who aren’t feeling it.

Most notably, people have been going crazy over Cole’s tribute to Nipsey Hussle and Pimp C. In the song, the rapper points out that, along with Jesus Christ himself, Pimp C and Nipsey both passed away at the age of thirty-three. “Christ went to Heaven, age thirty-three, and so did Pimp C, and so did Nipsey,” he raps on “i n t e r l u d e.”

Fans are excited about what’s to come from the 36-year-old superstar, agreeing that he might have finally entered his prime after years of comparisons to the likes of Kendrick Lamar. What did you think of the new song? Are you ready for The Off-Season next week?
