Kendrick Lamar & Drake Will Go Head To Head At The Billboard Music Awards

Kendrick Lamar and Drake already had their big rap showdown earlier this year that still has legs, but they’ve got one more head-to-head before 2024 ends. At the Billboard Music Awards, which take place on Thursday, December 12, both artists were nominated in the Top Rap Artist and Top Rap Male Artist categories. Considering that the 6ix God also received nominations for huge categories like Top Artist, it doesn’t seem like a particularly close race, but K.Dot also has plenty of chances for uncontested wins in other categories. The BBMAs are different to other award shows as far as criteria, and Drizzy is an absolute juggernaut when it comes to wins from the outlet.

As such, maybe these Billboard Music Awards will hold some surprises, but the Kendrick Lamar and Drake battle was never about sales… Or about Grammys, for that matter. It’s a biggest hater competition. Both MCs are still making a case for themselves being the biggest hater, with the Compton lyricist dropping the fiery and confrontational album GNX and his Toronto rival pettily calling out “fairy tales” on xQc’s stream.

Kendrick Lamar & Drake Will Face Off At The BBMAs

But Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s feud also roped in a lot of other people just by pure association, which some of them found quite odd. For example, during his aforementioned livestream with xQc yesterday (Sunday, November 24), the OVO mogul called Steve Lacy “a fragile opp,” which The Internet’s guitarist found hilarious. He took to Instagram to issue out some troll responses to the call-out, joking about looking for someone to be fragile with him. Top5, a Toronto rapper, is also completely anti-West Coast right now, and it seems like a rite of passage for any affiliate of either superstar. There’s a choice: you call the other side out, or you wait for them to call you out.

Of course, the battle that began with “Like That” will always connect Kendrick Lamar to Drake, and vice versa. As such, there will be more showdowns between them to witness in the future, such as the latter’s Australian tour starting the same day as the Super Bowl. But we doubt that they will be the ones driving those conversations.

Kendrick Lamar Fans & Twitter Trolls Bully Drake For His Bald Spot

The Drake detractors are out in full force on Twitter right now once more. His appearance on xQc’s livestream over the weekend has been creating some controversy thanks to a few clips. One of them includes The Boy asking that the fellow Canadian shut off The Weeknd’s music. “We gotta switch this one. Real 6ixers. Where the real Six at? We don’t listen to that.” It was a pretty awkward moment, with the internet taking the time troll Drizzy. “So Kendrick Future AND the weekend live in this guys head rent free.” However, the most viral moment from the entire collaboration came when he appeared to clap back at Kendrick Lamar following their rap battle.

He did so be introducing himself and his host, saying, “I’m Drake, this is xQc, real streaming legend. Me, I do music, in case you don’t know. I’m here, as you can see, fully intact. Mind, body, and soul. In case you’re wondering, right? You need facts to take me out. Fairy tales won’t do it. He then added, “Nothing makes me uncomfortable; I’ve worked too hard to be uncomfortable. Nothing phases me, like I said, it takes only facts to fold me, fairytales don’t work.”

During that mini message, the hitmaker stood up, giving everyone a good look that he is indeed “fully intact.” However, that turned out to be a massive misstep by Drake because viewers caught his bald spot on the back of his head. It’s trending all over Twitter right now and Kendrick fans and trolls are having a field day with it. “Now Drakes gonna drop a duck lip selfie video trying to clear up the balding allegations when he could’ve just shut up for a while. Smh,” one user writes.

More Reactions

“Kendrick Lamar need to diss Drake bald spot already😂😭” another adds. “Either the Kendrick beef stressing Drake out or he asked the Barber for that Tory Lanez bald spot special😂😂😂😂” someone else comments. Others cleverly suggested that he get minoxidil while getting another K. Dot quip in there. “The earlier you start, the better. I know the last 6 months haven’t been easy for you because of Kendrick.” At this point, it just needs to be 2025 for Drake.

Kendrick Lamar’s “GNX” Gets Hit With Premature First Week Sales Projections

Kendrick Lamar shocked the hip-hop world on Friday when he decided to drop a new album called GNX. The album sounds like a love-letter to the West Coast. Moreover, it is an album in which Kendrick completely embodies the villain role that has been thrust upon him following his feud with Drake. Overall, it is an amazing project and it will very likely be one of the candidates for album of the year when all is said and done.

With this new album on streaming services, there has been a lot of talk and speculation about what kind of first week sales numbers Kendrick is going to do. Of course, these kinds of debates are pretty tired and downright annoying. One could even argue that these debates are anti-art. However, the discourse is heavy and now, some first week sales projections are here for the album. As you will read down below, it is expected that Kendrick sells between 230K and 260K units in the first week of the album’s release.

Kendrick Lamar Has A Hit With “GNX”

For all intents and purposes, that is pretty good considering the album only has 12 tracks and there was absolutely no promo for it. Overall, some are going to call this a flop and a disappointment given who Kendrick is. Having said that, artists don’t sell over 500K anymore, at least not in this climate. If Kendrick had put “Not Like Us” on the album, perhaps he would be closer to that mark. Additionally, there are no bundles on his website. Going the Travis Scott route would have easily gotten the project close to one million.

Throughout the week, there is always the possibility that the projections increase. With songs like “Squabble Up” and “TV Off” going viral, there is certainly a case to be made that the sales will only get better as time goes on. Moreover, the Super Bowl will definitely give these tracks some added longevity. We’re just happy to have a new album from the artist.

Tay-K Gets A New Trial Date As He Faces The Possibility Of Life In Prison

Tay-K’s second murder trial will be hitting the courtroom in February of next year as he faces life in prison for a 2017 murder case in San Antonio. The trial comes as he already remains behind bars as part of a 55-year sentence for his role in a murder in 2016 in Mansfield, Texas. KSAT.com reports that a jury pool of 200 people will be called on February 7 with testimony scheduled to begin on February 10.

The rapper’s attorney has expressed his concerns about jurors having a bias against Tay-K due to his viral music video for “The Race.” In the piece, he poses in front of his own wanted poster. “The nature of the case involved a music video, and that music video is very famous and well-known,” the attorney said. “We may need more than the average jury pool because people are familiar and may have formed an opinion.”

Tay-K Appears In Court

The latest update comes after Tay-K went viral on social media. Images of him from a recent court appearance circulated online. He rocks glasses in the pictures, which sparked numerous jokes. “N***a looks like them inmates come to him for bites of wisdom at the yard,” one user on X (former Twitter) remarked. Another joked: “My boy look like he hard to beat at chess.” Others expressed concerns about the apparent scar on the back of his neck. “The scar along the back of his neck. A attempt has been made on his life,” one user wrote. “Pay attention!!!!!”

Tay-K is now 24 years old, having been originally arrested in June 2017 at the age of just 17. He dropped “The Race” on the same day authorities apprehended him following several months on the run. The song peaked at number 44 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Be on the lookout for further updates on Tay-K’s second murder trial on HotNewHipHop.

Wack 100 Eviscerates Drake Affiliate Top5 Amid Kendrick Lamar Feud

Top5 still has his eyes on Kendrick Lamar to defend his fellow Toronto rapper Drake, and this has caused him to face pushback from K.Dot’s corner. For example, Wack 100 and DJ Akademiks were recently on the phone during the latter’s livestream, and Wack had some pretty harsh words for Top once Ak brought his freedom from prison up. “That dude ain’t nobody, bro, he’s a b***h,” the California music multi-hyphenate told the media personality. “You know he’s a b***h, you know that dude couldn’t survive nothing.” This is the latest chapter in the street cred debates and cultural battles going on between Toronto and Los Angeles as a result of this year’s explosive rap feud.

What’s funny is that pretty much everyone still seems particularly obsessed with this beef and looking for their surefire checkmate move against the other side… Except for Kendrick Lamar and Drake themselves. Sure, they will most definitely reference it and respond to it here and there, but it seems like they both have more grand things they want people to pay attention to now.

Wack 100 Goes After Top5

It actually makes moments like this Wack 100 and Top5 situation all the more odd because the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef was never really about Canada versus the West Coast. Maybe “Taylor Made Freestyle” turned it into that, but it’s a battle between two massive MCs that will always have a historical connection at the end of the day. Of course, that’s where things eventually landed thanks to social media and hip-hop kayfabe, but fortunately, it’s all been talk so far, and no one’s actually engaged with violence since the shooting near Drizzy’s home in Toronto. Hopefully things stay that way.

Meanwhile, a lot of folks have a lot to say about the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef these days thanks to the former’s new album GNX and the latter’s recent comments about the wider 2024 battle during his stream with xQc. A lot of jokes ensued, some serious discussions and debacles followed, but overall, we’re glad to mostly get over the most exhaustingly confrontational fanbase war in rap… But not fully rid of it, of course.

Kim Porter’s Sons Take Legal Action to Stop Alleged Tell-All Book

Kim Porter's Cause of Death Revealed

Kim Porter's Cause of Death Revealed

A brewing legal battle has erupted between the sons of the late Kim Porter—Quincy Brown and Christian Combs—and Courtney Burgess, the man attempting to sell what he claims is a tell-all book based on Kim’s personal diary. Last week, the brothers sent Burgess a cease-and-desist notice, demanding he halt the sale of the alleged Kim Porter Diary. However, Burgess has fired back, refusing to comply and escalating tensions with sharp remarks about Kim’s legacy.

Courtney Burgess Responds to the Cease-and-Desist

In a statement obtained by TMZ, Burgess and his attorney Ariel Mitchell issued a biting response to the cease-and-desist notice. They took issue with Quincy and Christian’s assertion that Burgess is exploiting Kim’s fame. Instead, they downplayed her achievements, claiming her public recognition was primarily due to her long-term relationship with music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Despite the contentious claims, Burgess insists he owns the copyright to the alleged book, stating that Kim granted him rights to her story prior to her untimely passing in 2018.

The Family Pushes Back

The Combs family has fiercely opposed the publication of the book, which they see as an invasion of privacy and an attempt to profit from Kim’s life and legacy. Quincy and Christian have made it clear they intend to protect their mother’s reputation and her memory, calling Burgess’ actions inappropriate and disrespectful.

What’s Next?

With both sides holding firm in their stances, the dispute could head to court if a resolution isn’t reached. For now, the battle underscores the ongoing challenges celebrities and their families face in maintaining privacy and control over their narratives—even after death.

Kim Porter, who passed away in 2018 at the age of 47, was a model, actress, and beloved mother whose life left an indelible mark on those who knew her. While the alleged Kim Porter Diary remains mired in controversy, her legacy continues to be celebrated by her family and fans worldwide.

This story is developing, and more updates are expected as the legal proceedings unfold.

Wack 100 Responds To Snoopy Badazz’s Claims That Drake Can Come To Compton

Wack 100 thinks that Compton native Snoopy Badazz is trying start things between Drake and Kendrick Lamar again. Yesterday, the reported Death Row Records affiliate and Bloods gang member claiming that Drizzy is cool to come to Compton whenever. “I just got off the phone with some top dudes at OVO right now. I let them know to let Drake know that he good in Bompton. He good in L.A. Feel me?” Badazz began. “Whenever Drake wanna hit Bompton, whenever Drake wanna hit L.A., he can tap in with me. When you hit L.A., y’all good homie. I get him through here. Ain’t nobody worried about what these dudes talking about.”

This quote and video were additional responses to Kendrick’s surprise album GNX. Snoopy Badazz made it clear that he wasn’t a big fan of the record and doesn’t really jive with K. Dot overall. “@kendricklamar out here rapping like he tryna free the slaves… that 💩 was 🗑,” he said via an Instagram Story. He also added in that aforementioned clip, “It’s just Hip-Hop. It’s just Hip-Hop. Drake clearly the better artist. He clearly the big artist. We ain’t gonna let these haters turn this into something that it ain’t.”

Wack 100 Tries To Quiet Snoopy Badazz’s Message To Drake

This led many to believe that Snoopy was talking crazy and just saying things to say things. However, Wack 100 feels this is a more serious matter. He responded to the fellow California native, essentially trying to cool things down and dismiss his claims. “Snoopy Badazz, I don’t know what you doing. I don’t get it. We online with Drake’s team bro, they ain’t talk to you, they don’t know you, they ain’t got no plans on coming to Compton,” the manager began.

“I don’t like what I’m seeing bro. Kendrick just dropped his album. It’s like you trying to create something to gaslight n****s over there in Compton to start saying s*** negative towards Drake. This ain’t the way. Like, keep the peace homie. Ain’t been no issues with Kendrick and Drake. It was a healthy rap battle.” He then concluded with, “Far as I know homies over there ain’t talking about doing nothing to Drake and what you trying to do is say you bringing him over there to a certain location so n****s can start getting on the internet, making threats and saying crazy s*** but we ain’t doing that.”

Drake Demands xQc Shut Off The Weeknd’s Music During Livestream

Drake demanded that xQc turn off The Weeknd’s hit song, “Starboy,” while speaking with the Canadian livestreamer on Sunday night. “We got to switch this song off,” Drake remarked during the broadcast, before breaking into laughter. “We gotta switch this one. Real 6ixers. Where the real Six at? We don’t listen to that.” xQc abided by his request and skipped the track. A clip of the moment is going viral on social media as the feud between Drake and The Weeknd intensifies.

“So Kendrick Future AND the weekend live in this guys head rent free,” one user on X (formerly Twitter) responded to the clip. Another wrote: “He needs to stay quiet lmfao Kendrick dissed the braids out of him don’t make weekend do it too.” Others wanted the two to make peace. “Seeing Drake act petty about The Weeknd in 2024 when they’re both literally Canadian music legends just perfectly sums up why the Toronto music scene can’t have nice things,” one fan said.

The Weeknd wasn’t the only artist Drake spoke on while speaking with xQc. He also downplayed Kendrick Lamar’s disses against him while introducing himself to the audience. “I’m Drake, this is xQc, real streaming legend. Me, I do music, in case you don’t know. I’m here, as you can see, fully intact. Mind, body, and soul. In case you’re wondering, right? You need facts to take me out. Fairy tales won’t do it,” he said. He later elaborated: “Nothing makes me uncomfortable, I’ve worked too hard to be uncomfortable. Nothing phases me, like I said, it takes only facts to fold me, fairytales don’t work.”

Drake Disses The Weeknd

At another point, he labeled Steve Lacy his “fragile opp.” In more wholesome news, he announced his first Australian tour in eight years, the Anita Max Wynn tour, which will kick off in February. Check out Drake’s remark about The Weeknd below.

Steve Lacy Gleefully Trolls Drake After Rapper Calls Him A “Fragile Opp”

Drake’s recent appearance on xQc’s stream – during which he seemed to respond to Kendrick Lamar, his new album GNX, and much more beef-related stuff – was a pretty fun one overall. It was just two guys hanging around and talking with fans, so when things turned more combative sometimes, it was hard for some folks to take them super seriously… Including Steve Lacy. The 6ix God called the singer and guitarist a “fragile opp” while giving praise to his hit “Bad Habit.” In response, The Internet’s Lacy took to Instagram to post various responses to the diss, including one meme that read, “who tryna be my… fragile opp.”

You may be asking why in the world Drake would have a problem with Steve Lacy, but there’s a very simple answer: he’s from Compton. He attended Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out” concert on Juneteenth this year, appeared in the “Not Like Us” music video, and has had a good working relationship with Kendrick in the public eye since 2017 with their DAMN. collab, “PRIDE.” As for K.Dot, he also seemed to respond to Drizzy’s words on xQC’s stream, and he was also quite amused.

Steve Lacy Laughs At Drake’s Jabs

As for what Steve Lacy and Kendrick Lamar could get up to in the future, the former actually teased a collab for his upcoming album. “I’m moved by what’s weird,” Lacy told Fantastic Man about what are the types of artists that he wants to collaborate with. “It’s almost like I hear them, and I think, I need to call this person. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want a Kendrick verse. […] I don’t feel tough,” he said of being at “The Pop Out.” “We were at the run-through, and I was, like, ‘How am I here?’ But I was so honored.. I thought I would never be in the conversation. It was cool.”

We will see in due time whether or not Drake, Kendrick Lamar, or Steve Lacy will continue to address this battle or if they will move past it eventually. We hope that’s the case, because so much beef can’t be good for your health.
