Baker Mayfield Gets Blunt With His Haters

Over the last few years, Baker Mayfield has become one of the more polarizing young quarterbacks in the entire NFL. He always seems to carry himself in a confident manner, however, this tends to rub people the wrong way on occasion, which ultimately gets him into trouble. Since his arrival in Cleveland, Mayfield has taken the team to the playoffs and he has even given them a playoff win. Having said that, it should come as no surprise that fans are hoping for more this season.

Heading into this year, Mayfield still has a ton of doubters, although he is confident that he can shut them up. While speaking to reporters recently, Mayfield addressed his haters, noting that the only thing he wants to focus on this year is himself, and, of course, his team.

“I don’t care what the doubters say. You have to have self-confidence,” Mayfield said. “You have to trust the people in your corner. It goes along with setting expectations. You set your own. You live up to that standard. You have to hold yourself accountable to that every day. That’s the key to it. If you get caught up on the outside and listen to the B.S., then I’d probably be done. So I just focus on me and get better every day.”

The Browns will be a threat to win the AFC North this year, and if they manage to pull it off, it will be huge for a team that has largely been a laughing stock for decades. With the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers as their competition, it is certainly going to be tough.

Trippie Redd Mows Down Zombies With An ‘MP5’ Alongside SoFaygo In His Latest ‘Trip At Knight’ Video

Trippie Redd’s new video, “MP5,” opens with a jump scare, then gets right into some video-game-inspired, zombie-killing action. After dispatching one revenant with the titular hardware, Trippie and guest rapper SoFaygo enter The Matrix to blast waves of the undead outside of what looks to be a prison. Not-so-subtle pop culture references aside, the effects are pretty impressive for the form and the song itself is a high-energy, synth-heavy banger, displaying Trippie’s gift for catchy warbling and allowing SoFaygo to show off his chattering flow.

“MP5” is the latest video from Trippie’s new album Trip At Knight, which dropped today via 1400 Entertainment and 10K Projects after a few months of teasing with singles like “Miss The Rage” featuring Playboi Carti, “Holy Smokes” with Lil Uzi Vert, and “Rich MF” featuring Polo G and Lil Durk. The project is the SoundCloud rap pioneer’s fourth in as many years, as well as his second release of 2021 after February’s Neon Shark Vs. Pegasus, the punk-influenced deluxe edition to 2020’s Pegasus co-produced by Travis Barker. Other features on Trip At Knight include two late friends of Trippie’s, Juice WRLD and XXXTentacion, as well as thrash rapper and fellow SoundCloud alum Ski Mask the Slump God. Trippie will be going on tour behind the album beginning this week.

50 Cent’s ‘BMF’ Trailer Showcases The Fast Life With Snoop Dogg, Wood Harris, And More

Historical crime dramas are very in right now, what with FX’s Los Angeles-set Snowfall being renewed for a fifth season this spring and 50 Cent’s latest Power spin-off, Raising Kanan, currently airing on Starz, and a New Jack City reboot reportedly in the works.

It seems that audiences are, well, hooked on tales of drug kingpins rising to power — and falling off at their peaks — especially if those stories are at least loosely based on reality. With 50 Cent’s next Starz show, though, the line between fiction and history will blur more than ever as BMF explores the rise and fall of Detroit’s Black Mafia Family with some help from Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Wood Harris, who apparently will play an iconic drug dealer at every chance he gets.

Today, Starz released the trailer for the 50 Cent-produced drama series, which premieres on Sunday, September 26. It’s full of crack-era clothing, booming ghetto blasters playing Run-DMC’s “King Of Rock,” intense staredowns, and tersely-framed shootouts. Title cards tout the BMF‘s influence on hip-hop fashion, music, and culture (just check out Rick Ross’ “BMF,” in which he shouts out kingpin “Big Meech” while subtly nodding to the gang with the title’s acronym). Earlier this week, it was revealed that Eminem would have a role in BMF as well, portraying real-life FBI informant White Boy Rick — a role the real Rick approved of.

Quotable Lyrics:

Tryna turn my brain off, wish that I was braindead
“Can’t believe you just said that”, is what my brain said (What my brain said)
After every convo now, I’m tryna fight me
Thinkin’, “Did I do too much, do they like me?” (Do they like me?)
It wasn’t like this when nobody gave a fuck about me
Funny ’cause I’m worried that nobody gives a fuck about me (Fuck about me)

New NBA Youngboy Photo From Jail Surfaces

The current rap game has a plethora of diehard and obsessive fanbases backing it’s biggest stars, though none even come close to the devout followers of NBA Youngboy. However, those fans that’ve made 21-year old Kentrell Gaulden one of the biggest superstars to come out of the South have been down in the dumps recently, as Youngboy fights a gun possession charge. While he’s been in jail for the past five months, he’s tried to make the most of it by calling fans and even recording verses over the jail phone. This week, fans finally got a new photo of Youngboy as he sits in jail, donning new facial hair and a smile.

Kentrell seems happy and healthy in the picture, grinning at the camera in what seems to be a screenshot from a video. The picture came with rumors that a new jail snippet from Youngboy was on the way, though that is not confirmed. Just last week, “Lock Down Session,” a song recorded by Kentrell on a jail phone, went viral as the rapper attempts to make music behind bars. Still, Kentrell is missing out on more than he can accomplish. In just the five months he’s been locked up, he has missed the birth of two of his children while another one is on the way. The 21-year old has now fathered eight children.

Youngboy recently received critical acclaim for his verse on Tyler, The Creator’s “WUSYANAME” off of June’s Call Me If You Get Lost album. We will let you know of any updates on the rapper’s legal condition.

The Notorious B.I.G.’s “What’s Beef” Lyrics Used In News Segment About COVID-19

MSNBC‘s Ari Melber has made a name for himself in the Hip-Hop community by injecting his live news reports and political commentary with rap lyrics. From Lil Uzi Vert to Pusha T, Melber has used quotes to contextualize everything from Joe Biden’s presidential run in 2020 to federal investigations, and recently, he even had an exclusive interview with Lil Baby that touches on the Atlanta rapper’s unwillingness to get back into political rap.

Now, Ari Melber has gone viral once again, as he used lyrics from the legendary Hip-Hop emcee The Notorious B.I.G. in a recent newscast.

“COVID is dangerous. It’s lethal. It’s a bit like the beef Notorious B.I.G. used to rap about,” the MSNBC anchor says in the video before reciting lyrics from the Notorious B.I.G.’s Life After Death standout track “What’s Beef.” “‘Beef is when your mom’s safe up in the streets/Beef is when I see you, guaranteed to be in ICU.'”

“Well when COVID sees you, you can end up in ICU,” Melber explains. “Maybe not at the same rate as Biggie’s beef, but that’s the point about risk. You don’t want to test these streets and risk ending up in the ICU.”

Check out Ari Melber’s “What’s Beef” and COVID-19 commentary below.

Ari Melber also spoke with HipHopDX about his knack for bringing up topic-appropriate Hip-Hop lyrics while reporting the news, and he even predicts that other journalists will follow suit in the near future. “Usually it’s a song I know that pops into my head, so some topic or concept in the news just fits with a lyric, or wisdom from a song,” Melber explains. “It’s possible more journalists will start citing bars, the way they use sports analogies, which is cool with me.”

“As Drake said, ‘So many came up on a style that I made up, but if all I hear is me, then who should I be afraid of?'” Melber jokes.

Stay tuned to see which legendary Hip-Hop artist Ari Melber draws inspiration from next.

Kim Kardashian & Kanye West Appear Amicable At Malibu Lunch

It’s only been a little over two weeks since Kanye claimed Kim still loved him during his second DONDA release party— and while fans patiently wait for the release of the album, Kanye seems to have other things on his mind. The 44-year-old rapper seems to have made his way back to LA to meet with ex Kim Kardashian. The two seem to have remained friendly throughout their divorce– Kim also attended the aforementioned DONDA event– despite a tumultuous path to splitting up.

The former couple was now recently spotted in Malibu alongside their security at lunch. Their children, Saint, North and Chicago, were nowhere to be found, though the couple appeared very amicable as they enjoyed their meal. It’s unclear what Kanye’s relationship to his kids have been, especially considering his long stay at the Mercedes-Benz stadium for DONDA. Kim recently referred to her marriage with Kanye as a learning experience that allowed her to “be and live in the moment.”

Kim filed for divorce for Kanye in February, and while many reported that Kim had been fed up with the rapper’s behavior, a source close to the couple came out to clarify that the divorce was mutual: “Actually it was him saying for a year that they have nothing in common except the kids and he wanted out.

Are you happy to see the couple is on good terms, or do we not care altogether?
