Fivio Foreign and Quavo In The Studio Working On New Music

Fivio Foreign delaying his album, B.I.B.L.E, to April 8 is working out perfectly. It gives him more time to build his buzz, drawing more fans closer to his music.

The Brooklyn drill rapper already captivated listeners with his most recent track “City of Gods” featuring Kanye West and Alicia Keys. Now he getting the people backlit. On Friday, get ready to turn up when Fivio drops “Magic City” with Quavo.

Fivio took it to Twitter to share a preview of his new video, and he’s expecting it to do well. “5 times our last release,” he tweeted with the fire emoji.

When you think of Magic City, I’m pretty sure the Atlanta strip club comes to mind. The duo didn’t actually take their talents to the A, but they are definitely living up to the song title’s name. They’re making it rain in a Brooklyn strip club Magic City-esque.

Since the year started, Fivio probably has gotten no sleep. Every time you look up, he’s working. He just left Funk Master Flex on Hot 97. Prior to that, he had been an advocate for this new New York sound to the city mayor. He helped Kanye and Mary J. Blige on their respective albums. Finally Fivio Foreign is focusing on finishing his album. B.I.B.L.E April, 8 BOW!

Kanye West Suspended From Instagram For 24 Hours

Kanye West

Kanye West will be no longer allowed to go on his overnight rants on Instagram as the popular social media platform banned him for 24 hours.

TMZ and Rolling Stone first reported that the music and fashion mogul is being temporarily locked out of his Instagram account and won’t be able to post, comment or send messages.

A spokesperson for Meta, the parent company for Instagram, told TMZ that West’s recent posts violated the platform’s policies on hate speech, harassment, and bullying, resulting in the 24-hour ban.

If you’re up during the wee hours of the night and are a frequent Instagram lurker then you are aware of Ye’s late-night rants. Kanye’s rants are normally aimed towards his strenuous relationship with baby mother Kim Kardashian, the protection of his kids, and his enemies. Normally his main target is Pete Davidson, Kim’s new significant other, but his most recent lash out came for the Daily Show host Trevor Noah.

Kanye must have seen last night’s Daily Show where Trevor addressed the ongoing feud between Kim, Ye, and Davidson. Kanye responded at 5 am, on Instagram.  He posted Trevor’s pic and caption it with the mocking and racist lyrics, “K**n baya my lord k**n baya K**n baya my lord K**n baya Oooo’ lord K**n baya.”

The Meta spokesperson also told TMZ that the company is prepared to take additional steps if Kanye continues this behavior.

Jussie Smollett Moved From Psych Ward of Cook County Jail

Jussie Smollett Sentenced to 150 Days in Cook County Jail & Probation for Hate Crime Hoax

Jussie Smollett is no longer in the psychiatric ward of Cook County Jail. According to TMZ, a Cook County Sheriff’s office representative states, Smollett was moved because his cell was needed for another person.

“Mr. Smollett’s housing unit was changed Monday to a different cell within Division 8,” the rep said. “He was moved from that cell because Cermak Health Services needed his cell for another detained person. This was a decision made by the medical professionals. Mr. Smollett was never restrained to a bed or anything else in the cell. The bed was never equipped with restraints.”

The rep added, “Mr. Smollett remains housed in his own cell with officers stationed at the open door to his cell to ensure that he is under direct observation at all times. As with all detained persons, Mr. Smollett is entitled to have substantial time out of his cell in the common areas on the tier where he is housed.”

The Sheriff’s representative statement counters one made by his brother Jocqui Smollett, who visibly is out front of the “Free Jussie” movement. Jocqui called the move a big push forward, caused by the public backlash. “Cook County doesn’t really move until they get bad publicity … keep continuing to call Cook County Jail checking in on him and keep saying that you believe he should be free.”

Jussie Smollett‘s legal team is working hard to get the actor out of Cook County Jail. According to TMZ, Smollett’s lawyers have petitioned by emergency motion to release him from the Chicago jail.

Smollett’s legal team states his family has received harassing messages and phone calls targeting Smollett in the legal documents. His family supplied a video of a phone playing a voicemail riddled with racist and homophobic slurs. The threats are feared to turn into actual violence against the actor inside Cook County.

In addition, lawyers state Smollett is at higher risk for contracting COVID-19 due to a compromised immune system. Jussie is also believed to be in solitary confinement, which hurts his mental health.

Smollett was sentenced to 150 days in Cook County, in addition to supervised probation and restitution.

Young Dolph’s Autopsy Report Reveals 22 Gunshot Wounds

Young Dolph's Autopsy Report Reveals 22 Gunshot Wounds

The West Tennessee Regional Forensic Center in Memphis has released the autopsy report of Young Dolph. According to Fox 13 Memphis, Dolph suffered 22 gunshot wounds.

According to the report, wounds both entered and exited the body. Dolph was shot in multiple places, including the forehead, face, back, arms, chest, chin, neck, shoulder, and more.

Dolph, born Adolph Thorton Jr., was killed on Nov. 17, 2021 outside of Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies. Justin Johnson, aka Straight Drop, and Cornelius Smith have been charged in the case. A warrant is currently active for Shundale Barnett for his place in the connection. Devin Burns and Joshua Taylor have been named as persons of interest.

Young Dolph’s memorial at Makeda’s Cookies is scheduled to be taken down. In response, people have gathered asking for the memorial to remain untouched. Dolph was killed at the location in November 2021.

The owner of Makeda’s, Pamela Hill, reversed course on reopening the business, stating that she did not feel safe in doing so. According to ABC24-Memphis, the building’s owner then decided it was time to take down the memorial.

“I understand you have to lease it out and run a business,” community activist Frank Gotti said. “I understand it. It’s his building and nobody can argue with him on that. I appreciate him for keeping it up this long.”

Members of Paper Route Empire are planning to honor Dolph with a new memorial in Castalia Heights.

Previously, one of the men in charge of caring for the dead Memphis rapper Young Dolph’s memorial site was killed in Memphis.

Friends of Jeremiah Taylor are shocked by the needless death of the young guy who took on the task of keeping Young Dolph’s memorial in front of Makeda’s Cookies, the location of Dolph’s murder on November 17, clean and presentable.

“Jeremiah was a great person,” said Gotti. “He was so creative. He was so on point. He was helpful, he would help anybody.”

Taylor’s body was found on Getwell Road in Memphis and police are looking for answers.

Taylor spoke to ABC News affiliate in Memphis ABC 24 about caretaking for the memorial, saying, “I want people around the world to know we care about Dolph. The love he had with people. A lot of people are realizing and now seeing the person that he always was. Taking care of his community, being a philanthropist, and really promoting financial independence. [It’s] a moral that he taught.”

Happy 63rd Birthday To Public Enemy’s Flavor Flav!

Screen Shot 2022 03 16 at 6.29.57 AM

On this date in 1959, William Jonathan Drayton, better known to the world as Flavor Flav, was born in NYC. Flav is the former hypeman of the iconic, Rock N’ Roll Hall Of Fame Hip-Hop group Public Enemy.

Growing up on Freeport, Long Island is where A young Flavor developed his love for music, teaching himself to play the piano, drums, and guitar on his own. It was also in Long Island where a young adult Flav met Chuck Ridenhour, who later became known as Chuck D, the frontman of Public Enemy. The two linked at Adelphi University on the Island, where the two attended college and learned about each other’s love for Hip Hop.

As one of the founding members of PE, Flav was there in 1984 when the song “Public Enemy #1” was recorded; the first known track by the group. In 1986, the crew signed with Rick Rubin on Def Jam, however, Rubin did not initially want to sign Flav because he didn’t understand his role in the group.

Ever since PE’s debut album Yo! Bum Rush The Show, Flav was the hype jester to the ultra-serious, politically charged group which now included Chuck D, Terminator X, and a security force known as the S1Ws. Songs such as “Fight The Power”, “911 Is A Joke”, and “I Can’t Do Nothin’ For Ya Man” featured the comedic darts of Flav, which brought a balance to PE.

Drugs and domestic issues hindered Flav for a short while during his career, however, he bounced back into the public eye as a reality show pioneer, with shows like Surreal Life and The Flavor Of Love breaking ground in reality TV. Earlier this year, Chuck D announced that Flavor Flav was indefinitely fired from the group for his response to PE publicly endorsing Sen. Bernie Sanders in the 2020 Presidential race.

Big ups to Flav on his born day and TheSource.com wishes the Flavor Man many more!

Fivio Foreign Reveals Jay-Z was Supposed to be on City of Gods

Fivio Foreign, Kanye West & Alicia Keys Team for "City of Gods" Video

Since their link up on “Off the Grid” on Donda, Kanye West and Fivio Foreign has been seeming to get really close. Aside from the Donda collaboration, Fivio has recently revealed that Ye will be executive producing his entire debut studio album titled “BIBLE.” The two also linked up with Alicia Keys to create “City of Gods” which is generating plenty of buzz on streaming platforms.

While the song is doing numbers, Fivio revealed to Complex Brackets that a particular New York legend was supposed to be on the single. “I had the skeleton of it. I had the beat and Ye was like, ‘This sh*t is so fire. We gonna get Hov on it and we gonna go crazy,’” Fivio stated. “He’s like, ‘I’m going to get Alicia Keys to sing it.’”

Fivio states that Ye’s impatience faulted the verse from the 4:44 rapper. “But he wanted it out so fast. He’s like, ‘Yo, I’ma just do a verse,’” Fivio continued.“So he did the verse, got Alicia Keys on it, she ate that shit up, easy. She different.”

Fans were so close to getting Ye and Jay-Z back in the studio together, but maybe sometime in the future.
