Today In Hip Hop History: Eazy-E Visited President George H.W. Bush In The White House 31 Years Ago

Screen Shot 2022 03 18 at 9.17.20 AM

31 years ago, Eazy muthaf**kin’ E made his debut on the White House lawn.

While other rappers of the time were totally against President George Bush and his staunch law and order policies, Eazy-E, along with his manager Jerry Heller, spent $1250 a plate to attend the Republicans Inner Circle dinner.

This private, members-only dinner may have cost Eazy a whopping $2500 for two plates, but that type of publicity couldn’t be bought. Speculation has it that Eazy and Jerry’s attendance at the White House during the Bush administration kept the FBI off of N.W.A’s backs after the controversy over their “Fuck The Police” single.

Steve Harvey Warns YE About Dissing D.L. Hughley: “It Ain’t What You Want”

SteveHarveytoGiftEightCollegeStudentsWith$KScholarships

Steve Harvey is giving Kanye West a stern warning about messing with his fellow King of Comedy. In case you missed it, D.L. Hughley expressed his opinion on the ongoing drama of Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, and Pete Davidson. YE didn’t like it and started to send social media shots at Hughley.

“D.L. Hughley is a pawn Yeah I know a king not supposed to address a pawn but I address everything and fine addresses DL So don’t speak on me or my children I can afford to hurt you,” Ye wrote.

Kanye would also hurl insults at Hughley, accusing him of being a drug abuser and more. Hughley would hit Twitter to respond.

“Hmmm! Ain’t it weird that #Kanye supposedly has all these goons who will kill for him, but not one of them will get his prescriptions filled?” Hughley tweeted. “Here’s a thought while you’re on your way to kill me in Calabasas, how about somebody drop by CVS and pick up his Xanax! Lol #TeamDl.”

Hughley would also take shots at West’s clothes and even the sexual life of Kardashian and Davidson.

After watching all the madness unfold, Steve Harvey is getting Ye cleared up on one thing, D.L. Hughley would win a fight. Speaking on the Steve Harvey Morning Show, Harvey told West the equivalent of Lil Durk’s hit single “Dis Ain’t What U Want.”

“Pull up, it ain’t what you want. If y’all do get to scrapping, all my cash on D.L., cause you have no idea,” Harvey said. “You been a lil politically, socially conscious rapper—we from a ass-whoopin’ era.”

You can hear that and more from Steve below.

[LISTEN] Ma$e Explains Why He Dissed Diddy On “Oracle 2”

Screen Shot 2022 03 15 at 12.31.53 PM

After letting it loose on Diddy on his latest track “Oracle 2: The Liberation Of Mason Betha”, Ma$e took to Instagram Live yesterday(March 17) to discuss why he made the diss record aimed at Diddy, his integrity and the way he treated former Bad Boy artists.

The former Bad Boy said he made that song to empower those scared to speak up against the Bad Boy founder, saying, “When I see the hurt and the pains of other people on Bad Boy that motivates me to say something so I don’t be deemed as a person who just made a bunch of money and turned a blind eye. I’m not gonna be like the rest of the people around Puff that don’t tell him he’s wrong. I’m not gonna be like the yes men around him that seem him ruining people’s lives and never tell him he’s wrong.”

Ma$e seemed to have sided with the former contestants of Making The Band, who have been very critical of Diddy as of late, with one former contestant saying that Diddy’s dealings with him almost made him commit suicide.

Diddy reponded the controversy on his Instagram Stories, writing, “STOP ALL YOUR CRYING, BITCHING & MOANING. HUSTLE HARDER OR GET THE FUCK OUT OF OUR WAY. – LOVE.”

Steelo Brim Releases Debut Project ‘Eldorado Excursions’

Steelo Brim Releases Debut Project 'Eldorado Excursions'

Eldorado Excursions, Steelo Brim’s debut effort, has been released. The new release follows Steelo’s journey from the heart of Chicago’s Westside to the bright lights of Los Angeles, where he pursued his childhood goal of working in music. Eldorado Excursions features from Fabolous, Buddy, Arin Ray, BJ The Chicago Kid, Chuck Inglish, Dej Loaf, Leon Thomas, Vic Mensa, Problem, Nomad P, and more.

“1996 was the year music and I met, I mean yeah, I had listened to gospel and oldies around the crib since I was a baby, but ’96 was the first time we REALLY connected,” Steelo said. “We met in my Dad’s Cadillac he had got at the First Federal Auto Auctions on 63rd & State. I thought that shit was HARD. A caddy back then represented success. That plus my Dad’s new 6 CD changer showed me his crazy selection in music. D’Angelo’s Brown Sugar, Brownstone, Sam Cook, Teddy P – it set the tone. This project is me taking the vibe back to the backseat as I rode on a weekend to Franklin.”

Steelo’s therapist encouraged him to finish something he’d always wanted when quarantine forced him to slow down and look inward, so he began this musical and creative adventure. Steelo considers these albums to be “sessions,” as he was inspired to start making songs by his therapist.

You can listen to Eldorado Excursions and watch the “My Love” video featuring Buddy and Arin Ray below.

Masking through challenging obstacles in life is never easy, especially when you are expected to work while losing a loved one. In a tweet on Twitter, Yung Miami reflects on the time she had to push through the day and record the music visual to her single “P*ssy Talk” with JT, despite her heartbreaking experience behind the scenes.

The club anthem that features Doja Cat was released as part of the rap duo’s second studio album in 2020. “I filmed p*ssy talk video while my baby daddy was on his death bed,” she began. “I cried so hard and long between scenes one of the hardest days of my life.”

A fan responded to the tweet saying, “I remember that day, I can’t believe you pulled through,” before the rapper would respond with crying emojis.

Yung Miami and the father of her son, Jay Wiggins, would welcome their baby boy named after his late father in 2013. We want to send love and light to Yung Miami as she mourns such a loss.
