August Alsina Fires Back at Hate Following “Shake the World” Single

It has been a busy week for the Smith family, and anyone entangled with the power couple. Following the infamous Oscars slap, August Alsina would release a single titled “Shake the World,” where the singer drops a line about his entanglement with Jada Pinkett-Smith in the song. The single sparked a few fans to become upset with Alsina’s timing to release the single, accusing him of wanting clout at the expense of another black man.

“Boy that new song [trash] This is a bad look. You’re not a victim in this. You made a DECISION to sleep with another man’s WIFE and now that it’s time to reap you wanna put these people’s business out there instead of admitting that wasn’t P and owning your [sh*t]” one fan tweeted to the singer.

“Ifeel for you and your ancestors brother. Cus u ain’t nevaaaaa had to lie this hard,” Alsina wrote with a laughing emoji. “U know that shit hard boy! Shit put u in a hypnosis soon as it drop! Cus Got Dammit ‘I shake the wurrrrrrrrl.’”

“My point is this. You’re actually talented. All of that [sh*t] that you’ve been through in your childhood and life is what attracted a lot of us to your music. You don’t NEED to be doing THIS. All you need to do is drop a hot album and K.I.M. IJS,” the fan responded.

“I’m not a child anymore! & No need to remind me of me being talented, God gifted me that! I’m STiLL talking about MY life in my music, and Yal got a problem! BE MAD! Black twitter is the new age slave owners! But Yal ddon’town me! & u go stay mad about it,” August Alsina would respond.

Drake Ranks in the Top 3 of Most Dreamt About Celebrities, Who Joins Him?

Drake

Excuse me, ladies. Have you dreamed about Drake? Sorry to tell you but you are not the only one. The “God’s Plan” rapper is the third most dreamt about celebrity on the planet. Who beat him? Just Harry Styles and K-Pop superstar and BTS member Junkook.

Secret Linen Store, an online luxury bed linen supplier, wanted to know which celebrities appeared most frequently in our dreams and dug into the data to find out.

The data shows that the most dreamed about celebrity in the globe is British musician and heart throb Harry Styles, according to Twitter, where hundreds of individuals post about their latest celebrity dream every day. According to Twitter data, the former One Direction member has appeared in roughly 800 dreams since the release of his debut single from his upcoming album Harry’s House. Jungkook, a member of the highly renowned boy band BTS, is the second most wished-for star, while Drake, a Canadian rapper, is the third.

Taylor Swift (4th) is the most desired female celebrity, with only Euphoria star Zendaya (7th) and Kim Kardashian (10th) rounding out the top ten.

The only other hip-hop musician in the top 10 is American rapper Jack Harlow, who is the 9th most desired celebrity — his songs frequently go viral on TikTok, and he just collaborated with Lil Nas X. Timothee Chalamet (5th), Zendaya’s boyfriend and fellow star of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tom Holland (6th), and Robert Pattinson (8th), who recently starred as the latest Batman, round out the top ten.

“Seeing that Harry Styles is very much the man of the moment, we weren’t too surprised to find out he was the most dreamt about celebrity,” said Molly Freshwater, co=founder of Secret Linen Store. “However, it was certainly interesting to see which other famous faces are appearing most in our dreams. Although we can’t guarantee a night of Harry Styles-filled dreams, we do recommend making a few bedtime changes to ensure you have the best possible environment for dreaming. Make sure to change up your bedding as the temperatures change (linen for when it’s warm and brushed cotton for the colder nights), use a pillow spray with lavender or eucalyptus scents and try to reduce your screen time before you hit the hay.”

Have you dreamed about a celebrity lately? Let us know.

Action Bronson Announces Forthcoming ‘Cocodrillo Turbo’ Album

unnamed 1 3

Action Bronson’s next album Cocodrillo Turbo will be released on April 29th on Loma Vista. Conway The Machine, Roc Marciano, Hologram, and Meyhem Lauren will all appear on the album, which will be produced by The Alchemist, Daringer, Roc Marciano, and Action Bronson. Bronson has found a never-ending source of inspiration in water, which is where the title originates from.

“I first came up with this album while in the water. I’ve spent many lifetimes in the water. I’m just a water man. I was born in the water, I’m a water sign,” Bronson said.

His stunning new video for debut single “Subzero,” directed by James Larese, is based on the album. In it, a tsunami strikes New York, as Bronson waits with his bodyboard in hand, preparing to ride the wave through the streets while rapping about dropping a nine in the snow like a long-lost Sopranos character before slipping in a line about ripping his bread without knives. The Alchemist is king of the crocodiles in the short film, which brings him through the desert in a Mad Max-style car and then back to the ocean.

You can see the video below and presave the album here.

[WATCH] BIA is Joined by J. Cole for New Single and Video “London”

unnamed 2 10

“London,” BIA’s new braggadocious track featuring Grammy-winning rap icon J Cole, is released today on Epic Records. The new tune is heavily influenced by U.K. drill and injected with BIA’s own attitude.

The music video for the song is set in a gloomy London, but the Boston-bred singer’s star power shines through (as does her drip) the gloom.

With Instagram-ready views from the United Kingdom capital, the vibrant visual equally embraces all things British. BIA spends the day shopping at the most opulent stores and then parades down the sidewalk at night, Cruella de Vil-style, flanked by two dalmatians. After that, the multi-talented artist arranges a tea party before sailing with Cole down the Thames.

You can see it all below.

TMZ Posts Pic Of Positive K In Article About Kidd Kreole’s Manslaughter Conviction

Screen Shot 2022 04 07 at 1.05.04 PM

Was this an honest mistake or another case of “all Black people look alike”?

In an article on TMZ that was supposed to inform the public of the outcome of Kidd Creole’s murder case became an embarrassing moment for Positive K, whose picture was mistakenly used instead of The Furious Five member who was convicted of manslaughter in a New York City court this morning.

With the title reading, “THE KIDD CREOLE RAP LEGEND CONVICTED OF MANSLAUGHTER”, TMZ erroneously posted a picture of the “I Got A Man” rapper, who did not think the journalistic blunder should’ve even been able to be posted on a large platform like TMZ.

Screen Shot 2022 04 07 at 12.56.55 PM

Many artists and industry insiders commented on Positive’s post, appalled at the ignorance of TMZ’s staff. Hip Hop legendary VJ Ralph McDaniels commented from his @videomusicbox page saying, “Can we have a volunteer to be the fact and photo checker for the outside medis..please?” Producer extraordinaire Pete Rock commented saying, “bro cmon man WTF fa real? i think this is a meme i know TMZ aint do that did they?? 🤦🏾‍♂️ @positive_k_ naw they playin bro lol.” Pete Rock left another comment, saying, “whats crazy is that black folk work up there with those mofos bro smh. They wack for this. Yeah i had to tell them FOH over hev bro @positive_k_

TMZ eventually fixed the blunder, but it is unclear as to whether or not the media giant has apologized to Positive K.

Jack Harlow Reveals Release Date and Cover Art For New Album ‘Come Home The Kids Miss You’

FPrttgEVEAASpXo

Jack Harlow set a date for May 6 as he revealed the cover art for his sophomore album Come Home the Kids Miss You. In front of a white backdrop, the simple cover art shows a humbled Harlow sitting on a black stool, wearing all black, with a microphone stand on his side.

Jack Harlow has really been putting in the leg work on his forthcoming album  Come Home the Kids Miss You. When I say leg work, I mean that literately. The Louisville native is fresh off his Grammy performance, he’s been doing choreography lately, and somehow amid the hype, his song, “First Class,” which officially comes out on Friday, is already viral on TikTok.

Harlow sampled Fergie’s 2006 hit “Glamorous,” and people loved it. The way it quickly circulated indicates that.

“First Class” is the second single Harlow dropped that will be on the album. He previously dropped “Nail Tech.”

From its looks, Jack Harlow is locked in and ready to go. Since entering the game, the “What’s Poppin” rapper from Kentucky has been very popular. His prowess as a lyricist has already put him in an elite class of rappers in this new age of Hip-Hop.

The hit singles “They Want Efx” and “Mic Checka” were both forces to be reckoned with on the Billboard charts, while the virtually production of Chris Charity and Derek Lynch aka “Solid Scheme” ensured the consistent output of quality music for Das EFX until Charity’s untimely passing in 2000.

The Brooklyn, NY/Teaneck, NJ duo met in college at Virginia State University and became a part of EPMD‘s “Hit Squad” collective in just two years after their initial meeting with EPMD and never looked back. Latto’s “Big Energy” Reaches No. 3 On Billboard’s Hot 100

maxresdefault 1 1

Latto’s “Big Energy” continues to climb up the Billboard charts as the track now sits at No.3 on the Billboards.

This is Latto’s first Hot 100 top 10, as “Big Energy” climbed eight spots from 11-3. She took it to Twitter to express enormous gratitude for the success of her record.

“Big Energy” dropped in 2021 and debuted at No.15 on the Billboards, but on Mar. 27, when she dropped the remix with Mariah Carey and Dj Khaled, the energy got bigger for the Clayton County native.

The song also jumped 5-2 on Digital Song Sales (12,900, up 146%) and 7-6 on Radio Songs (52.7 million, up 8%) and debuts at No. 14 on Streaming Songs (9.5 million, up 36%), as it triples up with the Hot 100’s top Airplay, Sales and Streaming Gainer awards.

This success of Latto’s “Big Energy” is currently on a historic pace. It’s the first song to sweep all three honors in a single week since Adele’s “Easy on Me,” following its first full week of tracking, atop the Oct. 30, 2021, chart.) It’s also the first female rap song to enter the Billboard top 5 since “Up” by Cardi B.

The Georgia female hot spitter was elated and tweeted with”Big Energy.”

This accomplishment is just a milestone for Latto. She’s happy with being at No.3, but she’s far from satisfied. As celebratory as she was, she didn’t lose sight of the bigger picture, and she urged her fan base to keep supporting her as she pushed for No.1.

“Big Energy” is the lead single from the release of her second LP, 777. The project dropped on Mar. 25 and features 21 Savage, Lil Durk, Nardo Wick, Kodak Black, Lil Wayne, and Childish Gambino.

Wayne and Gambino are featured on Latto’s “Sunshine,” also charted on Billboard’s Bubbling Under chart at No. 25.

August Alsina References Being “Tangled Up” in New Single “Shake the World”

August Alsina

August Alsina is trying to bring back the entanglement talk. The singer and ex-bae of Jada Pinkett Smith has released a new single titled “Shake the World,” and he made sure to weave in “tangled up” in one of the verses.

“’Cause goddamn it, that’s right
I shake the world I heard it’s some s–t that’s bound
To go down when you got
A billion dollars on the elevator
Well, of course some s–t was bound to go down
When you tangled up with the world’s favorite”

“Tangled up” references the infamous entanglement moment, which Pinkett Smith called her romance with Alsina.

Following Chris Rock being slapped by Will Smith at the Oscars, August Alsina hit Instagram with a special message. The R&B singer shared a selfie with the message of choosing peace.

“choose peace, trusting that life’s intricate puzzle peices are all forming together for the greater good and mastering of the seasonally sometime chaotic nature of your lifes art piece that’s being formed and painted by birthing life to your internal masterpiece, grown through external chaos-metamorphosing alchemy, dark turned 2 light and beauty within, Then turned Master.”
