Drake keeps a beef with someone, but who knew he and Houston Rockets forward Dillon Brooks had hate for each other?
Let Akademiks tell it: the two are at odds over sexual relations with the same woman. Appearing on stream, Ak breaks down the issue, stating the rapper was heavily “in love” with a Moroccan Instagram model from Canada who also was a scammer. That same woman was also involved with Brooks.
Ak would connect a moment where Drake wore prosthetics to court in support of the woman. You can hear the full story about Brooks below.
Kendrick Lamar cleaned up Billboard this week. After taking the top spot of the Billboard 200 with GNX, his encore is taking every spot of the Top 5 of the Hot 100. Overall, Kendrick has seven of the top ten spots in the Hot 100.
The country’s No. 1 song is “Squabble Up,” followed by “TV Off,” “Luther,” “Wacced Out Murals,” and “Hey Now,” which rounds out the top five.
Kendrick Lamar dropped off the “squabble up” video last Monday, which featured a nod to Ice-T’s second album, Power. In case you need a Hip-Hop history lesson, the cover had a woman in a while thoung swimsuit and red heels holding a shotgun, which was also recreated in the video.
Seeing the moment, Ice-T showed love, writing “Respect!” on X. You can see the connection and the video below.
Charlamagne Tha God came off Thanksgiving break and dubbed Drake his Donkey of the Day. Speaking on The Breakfast Club, Charla highlighted his prediction that Drake would head to legal filings in his Kendrick Lamar beef.
“I told you Drake was going to sue,” Charlamagne said. “He is a multi-billion dollar entity, no multi-billion dollar entity is going to allow you to call him a pedophile or sex offender and not take some sort of legal action.
“But here’s the thing, the person who has the real defamation case in this situation is Kendrick’s woman because Drake not only said Kendrick was beating on her, he said that Dave Free, Kendrick’s business partner and friend, was the real father to one of Kendrick’s kids.”
CTG references Drake’s beef records, most notably “Family Matters.” The entire “Donkey of the Day” message is from the radio Hall of Fame member below.
Deamonte Kendrick, known as rapper Yak Gotti, was stabbed Sunday at the Fulton County Jail’s south annex in Union City, according to multiple sources. The incident did not occur at the main facility on Rice Street.
Sources reported to WSB-TV Atlanta that Kendrick sustained minor injuries in the attack. The Fulton County Sherrif’s Office released a statement:
“Deamonte Kendrick, also known as rapper Yak Gotti, and another jail resident were in a physical altercation on Sunday, December 1. Kendrick received treatment for minor injuries from a sharp object at the Fulton County Jail. The incident occurred at the South Annex in Union City where both men were being housed. Last week, Yak Gotti caught a break in his portion of the YSL Trial as some of his charges were dismissed.
According to 11 Allive, Gotti, born Deamonte Kendrick, had three counts related to drug possession and distribution tossed out by Judge Paige Whitaker via directed verdict.
A directed verdict cites, “there is no legally sufficient evidentiary basis for a reasonable jury to reach a different conclusion.”
Another directed verdict for his additional charges, including a RICO charge, was denied. That filing stated, “A person who was merely present at the scene of the commission of a crime at the time is not necessarily guilty of consent in and concurrence in the commission of the crime unless the evidence shows beyond a reasonable doubt that such person committed the alleged crime, helped in the actual perpetration of the crime, or participated in the criminal endeavor.”

TD Jakes hopped online to update his health following a Sunday scare at the Potter’s House.
“I told you last Sunday that I’d see you this Sunday, and so here I am,” Jakes said. “I am grateful to God for his goodness and his grace. Many of you don’t realize that you’re looking at a miracle. I faced a life-threatening calamity, was rushed to the ICU unit, I had emergency surgery, survived the surgery. Yeah, I’m back. And the doctor wants me to go slow coming back.”
Jakes was rushed to receive medical attention after experiencing a health incident during a sermon on Sunday, November 24. The 67-year-old preacher was delivering a powerful message to his congregation when he suddenly paused in the middle of his address, appeared to tremble, and then sat still before dropping his microphone. The unsettling moment prompted several congregation members to rush to his side as others began praying or calling out for help. The church’s livestream was abruptly cut off shortly after the incident.
While everyone was on pins and needs, later that evening, The Potter’s House issued a statement reassuring the public about the condition of their senior pastor. “During today’s service, Bishop T.D. Jakes experienced a slight health incident and received immediate medical attention following his powerful hour-long message,” the statement read. “Bishop Jakes is stable and under the care of medical professionals. The entire Potter’s House family is grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the community.”
Officially, the church expressed its gratitude, saying, “Thank you for your understanding and continued prayers.”
If you don’t know who Bishop Jakes is, he has been a prominent figure in the Christian community for decades. Ordained as a bishop in 1987, Jakes became widely known for his landmark sermon Woman, Thou Art Loosed in 1992. The following year, he began airing a weekly television broadcast on the Trinity Broadcasting Network, and by 1994, his teachings reached an even broader audience through Black Entertainment Television (BET). Jakes’s influence continued to grow, and in 2001, Time magazine and CNN recognized him as “America’s Best Preacher.”
As for the Potter’s House, Jakes founded the church way back in 1996, is a nondenominational Christian megachurch that serves over 30,000 members. As a nonprofit organization, the church’s mission is to provide spiritual guidance and empowerment to people across the globe. “The Potter’s House and T.D. Jakes Ministries seek to become a global voice, along a lifelong journey of spiritual and economic hope, encouragement, and empowerment to people locally, nationally, and around the world,” according to the church’s official mission statement.

In related news, Kendrick Lamar’s unexpected album GNX has made a powerful debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart dated Dec. 7, earning the rapper his fifth consecutive chart-topping project. Released without prior notice on Nov. 22, GNX garnered 319,000 equivalent album units in its first week, according to Luminate, marking the sixth-largest debut of the year.
Streaming drove most of GNX’s success, with 285,000 SEA units translating to 379.72 million on-demand streams of its 12 tracks. This achievement secured the album the No. 1 spot on Top Streaming Albums and delivered 2024’s biggest streaming week for an R&B/hip-hop album. Among all genres, it ranks as the year’s second-largest debut and third-biggest streaming week, trailing only Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department.
The remaining units include 32,000 album sales and 2,000 TEA units. Despite only being available as a standard digital download, GNX landed at No. 2 on Top Album Sales.
The album includes 12 tracks, including the one teased in the “Not Like Us” video, officially titled “Squabble Up.” The album also includes a trailer of Lamar with his GNX ride. You can peep it all below.
Qui Yasuka aka Suki Baby, the cover star of Drake’s Her Loss collaboration album with 21 Savage, says no one is touching Kendrick Lamar right now. “This is just his way of putting out to the world, ‘Nobody is fucking playing with me,’” she said on Instagram.
That support isn’t sitting well with Akademiks who responded: “Shorty might be a little dense in her thinking, but be very clear, this Kendrick album is the embodiment of the energy from the battle.”
The attorney for Rashad Murphy, one of five suspects in the ambush killing of Jacksonville rapper Charles “Julio Foolio” Jones, has requested a forensic neuropsychologist evaluation, hinting at a potential insanity defense. Prosecutors have indicated the case could qualify for the death penalty.
According to News4Jax, authorities allege Murphy is among three men who fired on Jones during a June attack in a Tampa hotel parking lot while Jones celebrated his 26th birthday. The assault, caught on surveillance video, is tied to an ongoing gang feud in Jacksonville.
Murphy was arrested following a SWAT standoff in July. His cousin, Davion Murphy, remains at large. Three others—Isaiah Chance, Alicia Andrews, and Sean Gathright—were arrested in Jacksonville and have pleaded not guilty in Hillsborough County.
The motion seeks a detailed psychological evaluation of Rashad Murphy, including clinical interviews, testing, and reviews of personal and medical records. If granted, the findings could influence the defense strategy in a case where the death penalty is on the table.
Jones was fatally shot on June 23 at a Holiday Inn on Fowler Avenue. Police believe Jones was attempting to secure a room at the hotel after being kicked out of an Airbnb while celebrating his 26th birthday.
Authorities have indicated that the suspects are members of rival Jacksonville gangs who collaborated to murder him. Jones had posted his location online multiple times before the shooting, and it is believed the suspects followed before ambushing his car at the Holiday Inn.

“Today, three dangerous criminals are off our Florida streets and in police custody where they belong,” Waters said. “These individuals have chosen lives of urban terrorism and with arrests we show Tampa, Jacksonville and the rest of Florida, we hold violent criminals accountable.”
