On what would have been his 37th birthday, parents and students came out for a giveaway Wednesday in South Memphis. WATN-TV reports that organizers for the ’20th Annual Back to School Stop the Violence’ event say they held it in the Castelia neighborhood because that’s where Young Dolph grew up.

[WATCH] Charleston White Calls For Death To Gangs: May They Die Like King Von, Nipsey Hussle, Drakeo The Ruler

Screen Shot 2022 07 22 at 9.58.12 AM

In his typical non-apologetic fashion, social activist and controversial online personality Charleston White took to social media to disrespect every street organization/gang known in the U.S.. The 52-year-old then went as far as cursing the names of fallen rappers who were associated with the aforementioned street gangs such as Nipsey Hussle, Drakeo The Ruler and King Von.

White, who is a former Crip from Texas, disassociated himself from the California-based gang when the family of the person he killed at age 14 forgave him for taking the life of their relative. In the above video, White holds up an assault rifle magazine while he declares, “Death to all Crips and Bloods. Death to all GDs and BDs. May they all die like King Von. May they al die like Drakeo The Ruler, May they all die like Nipsey Hussle.”

[WATCH] Fans Shocked As Loni Love Shades ‘The Real’

loni

Former The Real co-host Loni Love shades her former bosses for never acknowledging her birthday.

The “Soul Plane” actress turned 51 on July 14, and her new co-host of “E! Daily Pop,” Justin Sylvester, and the day’s guest co-host, “Full House” actress Jodie Sweeten, surprised her with a trombone-and-trumpet “Happy Birthday” performance by The Potash Twins, as well as a sweet birthday message from former co-host Tamera Mowery.

I was on a show for 8 seasons and never got a birthday surprise .. I am humbled for this. Thank you to my @ENews fam

Loni Love fired back at a fan after the reality TV host claimed her former hosting job The Real never gave her a solo birthday surprise celebration.

Although Love showed appreciation for the sweet gesture from E!, fans couldn’t help but point out her shade directed at the Daytime Emmy-winning talk show.

One fan in particular uploaded a throwback clip from 2016 underneath Love’s tweet that showed Love being given a surprise birthday celebration with her July birthday twin Tamera. However Love stated the clip only validated her point.

She responded, “Like I said, eight seasons boo.. Never got one, that was a combo.. Oop.”

TheShadeRoom reposted Loni’s message onto their Instagram page, and fans didn’t understand the reasoning behind the dig.

“There was no need for the shade, seeming a little bitter.”

“Sooo why didn’t you say anything for 8 seasons?”

“So she also had an issue with the show but stood 10 toes down defending them when other people spoke out about the show?”

Do you think Loni Love has a point?

Pic of Bill Gates’ Daughter With Black Man Spark Debates About Interracial Dating

Screen Shot 2022 07 07 at 8.34.57 AM

A photo of the daughter of America’s second richest man getting a kiss on the cheek from her boyfriend has been circulating around the internet and fuels an age-old American conversation about interracial relationships because the man that is kissing her is Black.

Phoebe Gates, the youngest daughter of Microsoft founder Bill Gates, posted a very impactful statement a couple of weeks ago about her opposition against the historic ‘Roe v. Wade abortion case, with the caption alongside her full body photo in a bikini.

“I’m not shy about my body and/or telling you to keep your bans off of it,” Phoebe captioned. “Every person deserves access to sexual and reproductive health care. Right now, the Supreme Court is prepared to end the constitutional right to abortion. Join me and millions of other women in our fight for this basic human right. @PlannedParenthood #BansOffOurBodies.”

That statement was just as integral as the unspoken one in which the 19-year-old Gates posted a picture of her receiving a kiss from who appears to be her boyfriend, who is Black. The above photo has online debates about dating outside of your race as well as outside of your social class, even though the wealth of lack thereof of the man in the pic is not publicly known.

[WATCH] Akron Police Release Video Of Shooting Of Jayland Walker, Officers Placed On Administrative Leave

Screen Shot 2022 07 05 at 10.31.44 AM

An unspecified number of officers were placed on administrative leave after the fatal shooting of an unarmed Black man by Akron, Ohio Police, who they say refused to stop his vehicle after they attempted to pull him over for a traffic stop.

25-year-old Jayland Walker has been the center of racial controversy around the country after he was gunned down by officers, who fired more than 90 shots at the Uber Eats driver, hitting him at least 60 times.

Protests have erupted in Akron following the release of the video footage, which shows Walker exiting his vehicle and fleeing on foot, unarmed. The family lawyer, Bobby DiCello, said of the footage to be released, “I’ve been a trial lawyer for 22 years and I’ve never seen anything remotely close to what that video is going to show.”

n initial police statement, which was released on Tuesday, said officers tried to stop Mr. Walker for an unspecified traffic violation while he was driving at around 12:30 a.m. After Mr. Walker did not stop, officers pursued his vehicle. The police said Mr. Walker fired a gun while he was driving, but the statement did not state how that was confirmed After a few minutes, Mr. Walker slowed down his car and exited it while it was still moving; officers then chased him on foot into a parking lot.

The statement said officers opened fire after “actions by the suspect caused the officers to perceive he posed a deadly threat to them.” “I’ve met personally with the chief and he has told me that he hasn’t found that evidence,” Mr. DiCello said. He said that the police chief told him that moments before the shooting began, two officers tried to use stun guns on Mr. Walker and missed.

Kanye West sued over sample on Donda 2 Soundtrack

Kanye West

Kanye West‘s Donda 2 might have set records on its exclusive Stem player release back in February, reportedly netting over $2.2 million in revenue within the first day following its release. However, it may appear that Ye may have to share some of that money with another artist who is accusing him of sampling a track without permission.

Marshall Jefferson, a Chicago-based house artist, is accusing Ye of sampling his 1986 dance hit “Move Your Body” at least 22 times on the track “Flowers” on Donda 2.

On Wednesday, Jefferson’s publisher Ultra International Music Publishing filed a formal complaint in New York’s US District Court. The lawsuit asks for profits and damages to be determined at a trial or maximum statutory damages of $150,000 per infringement.

Jefferson, who had just performed in England over the past weekend, explained to the BBC that his issue was not with Ye’s sampling of the track, but with the fact that Ye did not ask permission or request a license (which would have allowed Jefferson to collect royalties, saying: “I’ve been sampled thousands of times. There is a right way and a wrong way to go about it. Getting done by another artist, a black artist, a fellow Chicagoan without acknowledgment is disappointing.”

“Move Your Body”, which was released by Trax Records in 1986, peaked at No. 34 on Billboard’s Dance Singles Sales chart that same year.

According to the lawsuit, Jefferson’s representatives allege that Ye and his team had discussions where they admitted to sampling “Move Your Body” on the “Flowers” track.

As of Thursday morning, neither Ye nor his team at Universal Music Group, which is also named in the suit, had publicly responded to the lawsuit.

This is not Ye’s first dust-up with copyright infringement law. He was also sued in May by David Paul Moten, a Texas pastor, who alleges that Ye sampled parts of one of his spoken sermons without permission.

Lawsuits regarding samples used on Yeezus tracks “New Slaves” and “Bound 2” were both privately settled out of court.

Michael Jackson Estate Accuses Latoya Jackson’s Ex-fiance of Robbing Jackson’s Estate Following His Death

Michael Jackson

Almost exactly 13 years after his death, Michael Jackson‘s estate has accused Jeffre Phillips, the ex-fiance of the late singer’s sister LaToya Jackson, of stealing some of the singer’s personal effects following Jackson’s death in 2009.

Phillips was apparently staying at Jackson’s estate as a guest in 2009 when the singer died. He had reportedly been staying there for just over a week and stayed about the same amount of time after Jackson’s death. Phillips allegedly stole many of Jackson’s personal effects including his iPhone, clothes, driver’s license, prescription pills, handwritten letters, electronics including video cameras, computers, laptops, and hard drives, as well as a briefcase that contained some of Jackson’s personal and business paperwork. He allegedly also stole the pajamas that Jackson was wearing at the time of his death.

Phillips was dating LaToya Jackson at the time although the pair did not get engaged until 2013. They broke up in 2015.

So far, it does not appear that formal charges have been filed against Phillips.
