Traci Braxton’s Husband and Son Issue Heartfelt Statements Of Her Untimely Passing

Traci Braxton passed away Saturday morning after a private battle of esophageal cancer. Although her sister Toni Braxton issued a statement on behalf of the family shortly after her transition, It was the statement of her husband of 25 years and son that hit us the hardest. Her husband Kevin Surratt Sr. posted a message of her death on Sunday writing: “It took A lot for me to post this. It’s with A heavy heart I must say I’ve loss the love of my life @therealtracibraxton, due to her battle with cancer, She was my #dreamgirl my #world my #life #loveandbasketball #42 #mybonnie #lifeline #hummingbird #myrock #bestfriend #betterhalf #wife4life #myeverything. Her Son, Kevin Surratt Jr. also released a statement on Saturday on Instagram shortly after her passing saying-” When I heard the news about my mother being sick first thing she said was I’m going to fight and beat this. She fought to the end and today she’s at peace. I love my mother forever and this hurts so much but I’m at peace knowing she’s isn’t in pain anymore. ICYMI: NLE Choppa and Girlfriend Marissa Share They Suffered A Miscarriage

NLE Choppa, real name Bryson Lashun Potts and his girlfriend, Marissa Da’Nae are mourning the loss of their child. On Saturday, the couple revealed in a touching YouTube video that Marissa suffered a miscarriage.

The couple were expecting a baby boy named Seven Da’Shun Potts.

She went on to thank everyone for supporting her and NLE Choppa through the loss. She also noted she was sharing her grief in an effort to help other women who have suffered the same thing.

In a heartfelt IG post Da’Nae captioned:

“Talking bout this is so hard. But with Bryson next to me and being my supporter, this has helped me more. Losing our Son is so hard for me, I couldn’t function. But he has has pulled me through and I’m thankful to have you by my side and with me along this journey. There’s a lot of women who suffer the things I suffer and go through the same things I go through. So this also help to open up and let other women know that they aren’t alone.”

NLE Choppa, who’s already a father to a toddler named Clover, took his sorrow to Twitter and paid tribute to his late child.

[WATCH] Graphic Video: Ohio Officer Cleared In Shooting Of Teenager Ma’Khia Bryant

The Columbus police officer who shot and killed 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant last year has been cleared of any criminal wrongdoing, Ohio prosecutors announced Friday.

Bryant was killed in April by Columbus police officer Nicholas Reardon as she swung a knife at a young woman, just seconds after pushing another woman to the ground. Police were responding to a 911 call made from Bryant’s foster home about a group of girls threatening to stab members of the household.

The killing led to a Justice Department review of the police department in Ohio’s capital city.

Officer Nicholas Reardon arrived on the scene and shot Bryant four times who died from her injuries. The coroner listed the cause of death as a homicide — a medical determination used in cases where someone has died at someone else’s hand, but not a legal finding. It doesn’t imply criminal intent.
I shared my own experience as a young black girl in Harlem, NYC and the horror associated with protecting yourself in a hostile environment. Mediators and prevention are a necessary conversation to assist young girls with no influential guidance.

Employees Say Disney Censors Same Sex Affection In Pixar Movies

LGBTQ+ employees of Pixar are alleging Disney executives demanded cuts of same-sex affection in films. Variety reports the employees wrote a statement saying the executives wanted to cut “nearly every moment of overtly gay affection, regardless of protest from both the creative teams and executive leadership at Pixar.”

“We at Pixar have personally witnessed beautiful stories, full of diverse characters, come back from Disney corporate reviews shaved down to crumbs of what they once were,” the letter states. “Even if creating LGBTQIA+ content was the answer to fixing the discriminatory legislation in the world, we are being barred from creating it.”

This comes as the company sent an email about its response to the measure critics call the “Don’t Say Gay” bill that recently passed in Florida.

Disney’s CEO said in the email, “the biggest impact” the company can make is “creating a more inclusive world” in the content they produce. According to the Pixar employee’s statement, that claim is at odds with experiences had by employees.

Steph Curry and Shaquille O’Neal Team Up To Executive Produce Oscar-Nominated Short ‘The Queen of Basketball’

The Documentary short ‘The Queen of Basketball’ has just gotten some big-name support behind it as Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors has signed on to join retired NBA legend, Shaquille O’Neal, as executive producer of the 22-minute documentary. which is already nominated for Best Documentary Short at this year’s Oscars, and winner of the best documentary short Critics Choice Award at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival. The short tells the story of a trailblazer in women’s basketball and pioneer Lusia “Lucy” Harris who died this January. And currently streaming on The New York Times and the NYTimes YouTube channel. I’m thrilled to have him (Curry) join the team to help immortalize Lusia Harris, aka ‘The Queen of Basketball.’” Says O’Neal in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

Lusia “Lucy” Harris was the only Black basketball player on a college team in the 70’s . The first woman to score a basket at the Olympics. She was also the first (and only) woman officially drafted by the National Basketball Association. Through the efforts dedication and support of both Shaq and Curry, her name and legacy will live on. “The family of Lusia Harris-Stewart would like to thank Steph Curry for joining The Queen of Basketball as an executive producer.
