Drake Trolls Miami Fans About His Retirement: “I’m Thinking About Leaving Music Behind”

It’s been an eventful run for Drake on the It’s All A Blur tour. Joined by 21 Savage, the Canadian rapper has hit city-to-city across North America for the first time in five years. Each night of the tour is marked by special guests, giveaways, and a catalog of his greatest hits that go back to 2010. However, after releasing about four albums in a little over two years and building an empire, you could imagine that he probably needs a break at some point soon.

During his show in Miami on Saturday (Sept. 30), the rapper jokingly told the crowd that he was about to hang up the microphone for good. “This might be my last show ever because I’m thinking of leaving music behind,” he said before making it clear that he was only kidding. “I’m f**king with you! I’m f**king with you!” Still, it seems like the idea of retirement has been mulling in his mind for a while.

Drake Details “Graceful Exit”

Although he told the crowd in Miami that it was just a joke, he’s previously discussed the possibilities of retirement in the past. During an interview with Lil Yachty, Drake recalled a time when he thought he would retire by 35. However, the thought of a “graceful exit” has been lingering in the mind of the 36-year-old rapper. “I think I’m at the point now where I just wanna like — I feel like maybe we talked about this the other day. I feel like I’m kinda introducing the concept in my mind of a graceful exit,” he said.

The rapper is currently gearing up for his final dates on the It’s All A Blur tour with 21 Savage. The Canadian rapper will perform back-to-back shows in Toronto, ON this weekend. Before that, he’ll host an episode of Table For One on Thursday night ahead of For All The Dogs‘ release. Presumably, he’ll debut the album on his Sirius XM channel. Check out Drake’s comments in Miami above.

Drake Surprises Fans At Lil Yachty’s Toronto Show, Brings Adonis With Him

Drake and Lil Yachty have formed an unexpected friendship over the last couple of years. Overall, the two have supported each other in their musical endeavors. Of course, Drizzy was once on the song “Oprah’s Bank Account,” which ended up being their first track together. Since that time, fans have been waiting for a follow-up of sorts. With For All The Dogs dropping on Friday, there is a very good chance that we end up getting that collab. However, most of the details around that album remain under wraps.

In fact, many fans are skeptical that we will even get an album. That said, it seems like Drake is definitely hard at work right now. We know this because on Tuesday night, the artist was out in Toronto where he surprised fans at Lil Yachty’s show. Standing on the mezzanine, Drizzy addressed the crowd and told them that he actually rushed to the concert from his studio. He is putting the finishing touches on his album but wanted to be at the venue so he could support his friend.

Drake Addresses The Crowd

Subsequently, Drake got to perform the song “Meltdown” which comes straight from Travis Scott’s UTOPIA. Overall, there is absolutely no doubt that fans were enthused by the entire show. After all, they went to the concert expecting Lil Yachty and while they got that, they also ended up with a little bit of Drake. It is hard to complain about something like that. Not to mention, when there are concerts in Toronto, there is always a chance that the Canadian megastar pops out.

Adonis Enjoys The Show

Additionally, Adonis was at the show with his father. In the clip below, you can see Drake lifting Adonis up in the air as “Smells Like Teen Spirit” plays over the speakers. This led to a huge cheer from the crowd, and Drizzy just looked excited to be there. Stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the music world.

For All The Dogs was originally slated to release over the summer, but Drake delayed it back in September. He explained that he was too busy with the It’s All A Blur Tour and would have to cancel dates to get it out on time. “Okay, my dilemma I am faced with is either cancel shows to finish the album or I complete the mission and drop the album before the last show,” Drake wrote in a statement on his Instagram page at the time. “I owe you all these memories we are building, and anywhere we have missed to date, we will be spinning back for sure.” He has two back to back shows in place for Friday and Saturday in his hometown of Toronto.

Will Drake’s ‘For All The Dogs’ Get Delayed Again?

For month’s “Slime You Out,” rapper Drake has steadily built the buzz around his forthcoming solo album, For All The Dogs. On Saturday, July 22, the official rollout of the upcoming release began when Drake was photographed outside his hotel wearing a dog mask. Since then, he has kept his fans in the loop for each significant milestone surrounding the body of work.

Initially, supporters were led to believe that For All The Dogs would hit streaming platforms on August 25. However, during his It’s All A Blur Tour stop in Seattle, Washington, Drake told fans that he had finished the final touches. So, will the album get delayed again? Based on his latest Instagram post, Drake appears ready to go.

Yesterday (October 2), Drake uploaded a graphic to reveal that another taste of the project would be unveiled soon. “TABLE FOR ONE on SOUND 42 @siriusxm Thursday at 9 p.m. EST 🐩,” wrote Drake. Seemingly, it appears that his next single, titled “Table For One,” will be premiered on his specially curated radio show.

Through his colorful hair accessories interlocked into his braids, Drake suggested that on September 22, For All The Dogs would be made public. However, that turned out to be another misdirection. But, according to Drake’s father, Dennis Graham, and fellow rapper Lil Yachty, the wait will ultimately be worth it.

Cole Bennett Reveals Title Of Drake & Lil Yachty Song & Details Music Video Shoot

We’re just days away from the release of Drake’s forthcoming album, For All The Dogs. In the past few months, the rapper has provided a handful of updates during the It’s All A Blur tour. Still, we still don’t know what exactly to expect. Singles like “Search & Rescue” and “Slime You Out” ft. SZA seemed to indicate that he might be in his R&B bag. But then, there was a preview of his upcoming collab with Lil Yachty. Fans spotted Drizzy and Lil Boat shooting a music video in Surrey, BC with Cole Bennett, who recently shared some details on the record.

Bennett told Kids Take Over revealed that the title of Drake and Lil Yachty’s new song is “Another Late Night.” The Lyrical Lemonade mastermind revealed that the two are working on a “few different projects” together. However, the rapper wanted to film a music video in British Columbia. While Vancouver didn’t work out, they scoped out a lowkey location in Maple Ridge, B.C. where they shot the upcoming video for “Another Late Night” with Lil Yachty.

Cole Bennett Discusses Drake’s Creative Process

Bennett shared a bit more insight into Drake’s upcoming album. He revealed that he already heard it a few times, although many of the records were unfinished. “Right now, [Drake]’s finishing up the album and he’s very on the go between the show and him finishing up his album,” Bennett said. He added that he already heard the song before Yachty jumped on it and Drake already intended to shoot a music video for it.

However, in Vancouver, Drake said Cole could shoot a video for whatever song he wanted after hearing For All The Dogs. “There are great moments on the album, a lot of which aren’t done. I kind of came to the conclusion that if we shoot one of these songs that aren’t fully finished, we might never finish it,” Bennett added. “He has such a brilliant mind but it’s always moving so he’s always on to the next thing.” The famed director also revealed that he was supposed to direct “Search & Rescue.” Check the full interview above. Bennett talks Drake at the 3:22 mark.

Drake Is Eager To Stream With Kai Cenat

Kai Cenat’s antics have made him one of the most entertaining figures on the Internet and it seems that even Drake is tuning in. The livestreamer has undoubtedly gained a significant following that includes high-profile stars. Offset recently joined him for a 24-hour livestream while Nicki Minaj previously joined his stream earlier this year. Ultimately, Kai’s created a platform that everyone wants to participate during their promo runs including Drake, who recently invited Cenat to attend his It’s All A Blur tour in Atlanta.

Although Drake doesn’t do much press, with the exception of a few recent interviews with Lil Yachty and Bobbi Althoff, it seems like he’s eyeing to appear on Kai Cenat’s stream in the near future. Following his show in the concert, the two apparently hung out and had an extensive conversation that involved a visit to the AMP House. “He’s saying, ‘bro, I want to pull up to the crib. We gotta get a stream in,” Kai mentioned during his live stream.

Kai Cenat Teases Drake Livestream

With For All The Dogs set to drop in October, Drake could be pulling up on Kai soon. However, Kai mentioned how Drake’s still touring while working on his album. “I was like, look, Drake, we don’t got to rush to pull up to the stream. If it’s gon’ happen, it’ll happen… Take your time, you’re on tour right now,” he recalled. “But chat, when I heard that, I was like, ‘What the f*ck?’” Kai added that Drake is genuinely familiar with his content as well as the AMP House.

Apparently, the two also had a deeper conversation about a few things that could materialize in the future. “Just know we’re super locked in now,” Kai added. Hopefully, we’ll see Drake come through to the AMP House soon. The rapper previously advocated on Kai’s behalf after the streamer broke Twitch’s subscriber record, demanding the platform compensate Cenat fairly. “ “@twitch motivate the kids send him 50M,” Drake wrote. Will Drake’s ‘For All The Dogs’ Be On Vinyl?

Drake’s new album, For All The Dogs, finally has a release date after months of speculation. Drake pushed the album back ahead of its planned release so he would have more time to finish his tour and the album itself, but also made up for the delay by dropping its single, “Slime You Out.”

With the album just two weeks away from release, fans might be wondering whether he’s planning on putting it on vinyl, as many of his contemporaries have been prone to doing with their own highly anticipated releases. Unfortunately, that seems unlikely, since he says the album isn’t quite done and the lead time needed to manufacture and ship records probably wouldn’t allow for enough time to do so before October 6. Drake’s notorious for finishing up his albums at the last minute, so don’t expect to see For All The Dogs 12″ on sale at Target anytime soon.

The last Drake project to be released on vinyl was Dark Lane Demo Tapes in 2020. Her Loss and Honestly, Nevermind were only released on CDs and those were released nine months and four months, respectively, after the albums hit streaming (CDs for both were released on March 17, 2023). On the bright side, Drake’s dad Dennis Graham says it’s the best music he’s heard from Drake while Lil Yachty promises some controversial topics. We’ve only got two weeks to wait to find out if they’re right; For All The Dogs is due 10/6 on OVO/Republic.

Drake’s SZA Collab Isn’t “Hard” Enough For Charlamagne Tha God

Earlier this month, Drake finally dropped off his eagerly-anticipated collaboration with SZA, “Slime You Out.” The single comes just ahead of the release of the Canadian-born performer’s new album, For All The Dogs. For the most part, listeners have been enjoying the laid-back track. With that being said, there is at least one person who wasn’t expecting such a mellow offering from the hitmaker, Charlamagne Tha God.

During a recent episode of The Brilliant Idiots podcast, Charlamagne shared his thoughts on the single, claiming that it wasn’t exactly what he thought was coming. According to him, not many people paid the release any attention. “Drake put out a song last Friday and nobody cared,” he says in a clip from the show. “It came out last Friday and people just started talking about the lyrics yesterday.” He continued, noting how long it took for the discussion about the song’s lyrics to begin.

Charlamagne Tha God Claims “Nobody Cared” About Drake’s New Song

“That’s not Drake-like,” Charlamagne says. “He’s gonna be fine, regardless.” He went on to discuss the possibility that listeners were expecting something heavier from the artist, based on the cover art and album title. “I think we was looking for something a little more harder, a little more aggressive than this slow joint with SZA.” When someone notes that he planned on “bringing back the old Drake” for the new LP, Charlamagne claims that he’s not familiar with Drake’s older work, so he doesn’t know whether or not it missed the mark.

Someone else then says that the track features “singing and rapping,” claiming that that’s all it takes to capture Drake’s old style. “I didn’t hear no rapping on it,” Charlamagne replied. “Unless I didn’t get through the whole song.” What do you think of Drake’s new single with SZA, “Slime You Out?” Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates on Drake.
