Lil Yachty Said Drake’s Never Sounded More Drunk Than On OVO Sound 42 Last Night

Lil Yachty and Drake have quite the close bond, and it’s no longer novel, surprising, or remarkable to say so. After all, following multiple collaborations, interviews, praise towards each other on social media, and much more, it’s clear that they’re a bit of a duo these days. Moreover, the Atlanta creative helped produce a lot of material on the 6 God’s newly released album For All The Dogs, However, it’s clear that they work hard, but it’s also pretty apparent that they play hard. There have been a lot of sleepless nights, club outings, and the like… but apparently, none of those compare to how drunk Drizzy got last night.

Furthermore, he premiered a new episode of his show Table For One on OVO Sound Radio and Sound 42. In it, the Toronto rapper played a lot of material, including a Lil Yachty song that many fans falsely thought took aim at Lil Uzi Vert. But the most notable part of the 36-year-old’s on-air appearance- for Lil Boat, at least- was that Drake had apparently never sounded more drunk to his ears. In the hilarious clip below, you can hear them going back and forth when the Quality Control artist called in.

Drake Has Never Sounded More Drunk Than On Sound 42 Last Night, Yachty Believes

Specifically, it seems like Lil Yachty came to that conclusion after Drake sang “Car Wash” quite weakly. Also, there was a lot of stuttering, “uhm”s and “ah”s, and slurred delivery that indicated that he was having a bit too much fun. Regardless of all that, though, the “8AM In Charlotte” MC told Yachty that he wasn’t even drunk. Instead, he was just simply really excited and having a great time… but haven’t we all heard that one from our friends at 2AM before?

Jokes aside, it’s heartening to hear these titans speak and appreciate each other as they continue their star-studded and prolific journey as artists together. Given that Drizzy’s apparently taking a break from music for a while, maybe we won’t hear them on wax together for a long time. All we can hope for the two is that they have many more fun nights together. On that note, check back in with HNHH for the latest news and updates on Drake and Lil Yachty.

For All The Dogs was originally slated to release over the summer, but Drake delayed it back in September. He explained that he was too busy with the It’s All A Blur Tour and would have to cancel dates to get it out on time. “Okay, my dilemma I am faced with is either cancel shows to finish the album or I complete the mission and drop the album before the last show,” Drake wrote in a statement on his Instagram page at the time. “I owe you all these memories we are building, and anywhere we have missed to date, we will be spinning back for sure.” He has two back to back shows in place for Friday and Saturday in his hometown of Toronto.

Drake Premieres New Lil Uzi Vert Collab, “At The Gates,” On “SOUND 42”: Listen

Drake’s last album, Her Loss, is only a few months old, but already, the father of one is teasing plenty more new music from his arsenal. On New Music Friday (April 7), he delivered the highly anticipated “Search & Rescue,” on which he seemingly threw shade at Kanye West by sampling audio of Kim Kardashian. Despite the gossip, his father, Dennis Graham, maintains that Drizzy wasn’t trying to start any drama with the song, which has been a hot topic on social media so far this weekend.

Following that, the Canadian debuted another single on Sirius XM’s SOUND 42 radio. This one finds him collaborating with Lil Uzi Vert and was previously teased back in late 2021, though it has yet to arrive on DSPs. Called “At The Gates,” fans who have heard the previously released preview have been desperately waiting for its official arrival. It remains unclear when – or if – Drake plans to drop it, though playing it on the air is a strong signal we can expect it sooner rather than later.

SOUND 42 Debuts Drake and LUV’s “At The Gates”

On the chorus, LUV raps, “F*ck a wrap, I just got my whips all painted, ayy / Bitches fainted, I forgot that I was famous, ayy.” Following that comes Champagne Papi’s verse, on which he appears to throw more shade at Ye by mentioning Skete, the father of four’s prior nickname for his ex-wife’s old boyfriend, Pete Davidson. Elsewhere Drake adds, “If we on a island then you know it’s not no Coney shit / No it’s not no Staten shit, I ain’t on no phony shit.”

Stream Drake and Lil Uzi Vert’s unreleased “At The Gates” collab on YouTube above. Afterward, let us know if you’ll be adding the track to your playlist when it finally lands on DSPs in the comments. Drake Discusses Reinventing Radio With Sound 42

Ahead of his performances at the Apollo Theater, last weekend, Drake spoke with GQ about reinventing radio with Sound 42. SiriusXM, which presented the New York City concerts, also broadcasts the station.

“It’s something that Scott [Greenstein] from SiriusXM was extremely passionate about from the inception of our partnership,” Drake told the outlet. “He’s been so supportive with us as far as Sound 42 goes. And Sirius offers us the opportunity to be heard far and wide, right? Sirius is just the closest thing we have to those days of glory radio moments and I still get a massive amount of joy premiering music when I know that everyone is listening at the same time.”

Further discussing the endeavor, Drake constantly praises his OVO co-founder Oliver El-Khatib. El-Khatib hosts OVO Sound Radio, which began with Apple Music back in 2015.

“Me and Oliver–and everyone else that has a show on the station–we’re just so passionate about music that to have that platform for us to play what we love or–what we make or just things that we’d like people to know about–it’s been such a great experience for us,” Drake said. “And I think it came in two parts: a station that obviously if you have satellite radio you can experience but even initially in the partnership we talked about making it more tangible at some point and I think that’s what Apollo was. Gathering what felt like, almost like a friends and family rehearsal for an arena tour. You know we used to do those back in the day.”

In addition to OVO Sound Radio, Drake also hosts his own show on the station, Table For One. He recently interviewed his Her Loss collaborator, 21 Savage, on the program.
