Jada Pinkett Smith has had the internet in a frenzy but that hasn’t stopped her sales. Her new memoir Worthy debuted at #3 on the NY Times Best Seller list.
Jada’s achievement contradicts earlier reports by DailyMail.com that her book was “a flop”. The NY Times lists the most popular books sold in the United States based on sales in the past week.

The courageous mom-of-two celebrated her book’s success in a video posted on her Instagram page.

She captioned the post:

“Thank you to the [Red Table Talk] family, the Worthy Warriors and to all who wanted to know my story beyond headlines … we made it to #3 on the NYT best sellers list. Congrats to the other 3 women who are holding the other top 4 spots on the list as well.”

In the video, she said:

“I was sitting here thinking that there was a time where women actually had to take on the names of men in order to be published, and here we have four women at the top of the bestsellers list.”

Designing custom hip hop Crocs for the who’s who in the industry. “I needed to create a shoe to show Biggie’s fans that I mean business when it comes to celebrating one of the best lyricists to date. Having real Versace and Coogie pieces dominate the shoes were a necessity”, Dumas revealed. “Creating became something that fell into my lap. I was on vacation. I was staying with my sister who has everything in the world. I wanted to make her something money can’t buy. I decided to make her a custom pair of Crocs and the rest is history. It was my first time experimenting with any type of arts & crafts project and I have been customizing Crocs and other items for the past two years”, states Kim who made her sister a wedge Croc with bling on it. “It gave me so much joy to see my sister’s reaction”.

The Custom Black Biggie Smalls Crocs stand as a symbol of how hip hop has transcended musical boundaries to shape various aspects of culture, including fashion. Today In Hip Hop History: Mobb Deep Dropped Their Fourth LP ‘Murda Muzik’ 24 Years Ago

On this day in 1999, Mobb Deep released their fourth LP, Murda Muzik. Coming after a three-year pause and numerous release date push-backs, Murda Muzik did everything but disappoint. Peaking at #3 on the Billboard 200 chart and shipping 1,000,000 copies in the year of its release prove that commercially this album was a success. The album also earned the #6 spot on the Canadian album charts.

Aside from its monetary success, the album was a hit. During a time in rap where Diddy and Master P were calling the shots, a project of this caliber came with much surprise and admiration. Havoc and Prodigy‘s stark realism and imagery depicting the darker side of the streets brought a necessary contrast to a game flooded with gold watch/diamond chain rap. Havoc’s style of production, although the majority unchanged from his previous work, was also a shift away from the norm of the ’99 to the 2000. This album has most definitely earned its respect and acclaim.

Nike Announces New Nike Infinity RN 4 to Support Runners and the Planet

Nike continues its commitment to innovation and sustainability by launching the new Infinity RN 4 running shoe. Recognizing the importance of protecting the planet, Nike has combined cutting-edge performance design with more sustainable manufacturing and materials. The shoe features an all-new Nike ReactX foam midsole, which reduces the carbon footprint by at least 43% compared to the previous Nike React while providing runners with 13% more energy return.

“Many people today incorporate running in their lives as a way of powering a holistic betterment journey and they’ve asked us for a shoe that would support their performance and the planet too”, says Jeongwoo Lee, Nike’s Senior Design Director. “The InfinityRN 4 was designed to provide supportive cushioning for a smooth run. The shoe’s testing was led through women runners, whose insights influenced an all-new upper design with updated materials, as well as the soft cushioning underfoot.” 

The development of ReactX foam was a breakthrough that challenged traditional foam manufacturing methods. By utilizing injection molding instead of compression molding, Nike achieved a more efficient and lower carbon footprint process without compromising on performance. The innovative formulation of ReactX foam combines the best aspects of both methods, maintaining sustainability, achieving impressive performance metrics, and working within the existing supply chain infrastructure.

“Athletic performance and impact on the planet aren’t mutually exclusive,” said Bret Schoolmeester, Nike’s Senior Footwear Director. “Our goal is to make athletes better and make the planet better for athletes. With materials representing about 70% of Nike’s total carbon footprint, innovating new, more sustainable materials is a top priority and we’ll do that, while delivering better performance.” 

The Infinity RN 4 also boasts an all-new Nike Flyknit upper, maximizing airflow, breathability, flexibility, and containment while using 60% less waste than traditional footwear-upper manufacturing. The shoe incorporates a soft and supportive foam collar, a midfoot support system, and a water-resistant liner for enhanced comfort and performance.

Furthermore, the shoe’s waffle outsole provides durable traction, and its unique rocker design supports the three phases of a runner’s stride, offering flexibility when pushing off, a smooth ride during forward movement, and cushioning upon landing.

Nike has a history of pairing innovation with sustainability, with initiatives like the “Reuse a shoe program” and using recycled materials in apparel. The Infinity RN 4 joins the ranks of other Nike running shoes, such as Flyknit, Vapormax, Alphafly Next Nature, and Pegasus Turbo Next Nature, that have pushed the boundaries of sustainable production and redefined consumer expectations.

“Without a healthy planet, there is no future for sport,” said Golnaz Armin, Nike’s Material Innovation VP. “We all need to do more, and a key driver is addressing solutions at scale.  Nike’s ReactX has that potential.”

The Nike InfinityRN 4 will be available in North America in August.

PUMA, the renowned global sports company, has joined forces with Roc Nation, Paper Planes co-founder Emory Jones, and footwear designer Alexander John to launch the highly anticipated Mixtape collection.

This unique apparel and footwear line celebrates the 50th anniversary of hip-hop and pays tribute to the iconic mixtape format. Exclusively available at Foot Locker and Champs Sports, the collection showcases the RS-XL shoe in three versions inspired by different mixtape formats: cassettes, CDs, and playlists.

Each shoe features an NFC-powered chip called the “LGT Tag” from Legitimate, which unlocks a digital portal offering exclusive content, weekly mixtape releases, and behind-the-scenes access to Roc Nation artists.

The collection includes a range of jackets, tees, and shorts with eye-catching graphics and music-inspired designs. The Mixtape collection will be available online and in-store at select retailers starting on Friday, July 14, with prices ranging from $35 to $130.

Signed 'Flu Game' Jordan 12 From 1997 NBA Finals Sold for $1.38 Million

Michael Jordan’s game-worn “Flu Game” Jordan 12s have been sold for over $1 million.

According to ESPN, the sneakers worn in the epic 1997 NBA Finals Game 5 against the Utah Jazz sold for a record $1.38 million during an auction hosted by collectibles marketplace Goldin.

Wearing the sneakers, Jordan dropped 38 points, 7 rebounds, and five assists before he was helped off the floor by teammate Scottie Pippen in one of the most iconic scenes in the history of the NBA. The shoes were owned by Utah Jazz ballboy Preston Truman, who Jordan took a liking to during the series due to receiving apple sauce from the boy before games. Truman would consign the shoes with Grey Flannel Auctions in 2013, selling for $104,765.

The appreciation rose 1,200% but fell short of the $2.238 million that the “Playoff” Air Jordan 13 sold for in April.

The new PSG flagship shop in Miami, which will open in early 2022 under the management of Fanatics and Lids, will be situated at 1024 Lincoln Road in Miami Beach, Florida, 33139. The new PSG X Nike Home Kit will debut on May 31 to coincide with the inauguration of the Miami location, giving devoted football and fashion fans the chance to purchase the much-awaited release on the day it becomes available.

As part of the club’s long-term cooperation with Lids and Fanatics, Lids runs PSG shop locations to provide a distinctive and unified retail environment that sports fans and fashion devotees can enjoy.

Share of Profits From Adidas and Yeezy Sales To Go to Anti-Defamation League

First Adidas and YEEZY Restock Under New Agreement Set for June 1

The organizations for donations from the relaunch of Adidas bulk of YEEZY products have been revealed. TMZ states the upcoming profits will be split between the Anti-Defamation League and other charities.

The start of the sale will begin at the end of the month. Adidas states a “significant amount will be donated to selected organizations working to combat discrimination and hate, including racism and antisemitism.” It is believed $1.3 billion in products remained when the split between Ye and Adidas launched.

In February, The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) recently reported that Kanye’s anti-Semitic rants were linked to 30 incidents in the US targeting Jewish people.

“These incidents — which include vandalism, banner drops, targeted harassment, and campus propaganda distributions — demonstrate the ongoing influence of Ye’s conspiratorial, bigoted rants,” the ADL wrote.

“Immediately following Ye’s antisemitic comments, which included inflammatory tropes about Jewish power and Holocaust denial, the slogan ‘Ye Is Right’ surfaced online in hashtags and antisemitic accounts. The ADL Center on Extremism has also tracked references to ‘Ye Is Right’ in instances of on-the-ground antisemitic vandalism and harassment nationwide.”

Jonathan Greenblatt, the CEO of the ADL, said in a statement to Billboard that Ye is inspiring people to commit “real-world acts of hate.”

“Kanye West’s repeated antisemitic remarks – and his dredging up some of the worst anti-Jewish tropes imaginable – doubtlessly are having an impact and inspiring people to commit real-world acts of hate,” Greenblatt stated. “As we have long maintained, celebrities and others who engage in spreading hateful tropes need to know their words have consequences. Unfortunately, Kanye’s decision to continue to peddle hatred against Jews is only giving encouragement to people who are already infected with hate.”

Following reports of a renewed partnership and UK page loading, Adidas India released a promotional image for the YEEZY line for a June 1 release.

The YEEZY brand is set to release the Yeezy 350 “Pirate Black,” Zebra 350s, Utility Black 500s, the Yeezy Foam Runner, and Yeezy Slides. According to Sneaker News, new Yeezy Styles never seen before will be introduced to the public.

Hypebeast, highlighted the sign of initial restocks of Yeezy products on the adidas UK website.

The report states the product pages for the YEEZY 350 BOOST V2 “Zebra” and the YEEZY 500 “Utility Black” will be of the launch. The site can spot both models by searching “Yeezy Trainers.” Currently, there is no specific date set for the launch.

News of the renewed partnership comes via the YEEZY MAFIA, a source of all things Yeezy, including his sneaker line.

Confirming the news, Reuters states Adidas CEO Bjoern Gulden revealed the renewed partnership to move some of the merchandise and donate some of the proceeds to international organizations.

A reported $1.3 billion in Yeezy-branded Adidas products are sitting in storage after the partnership was ended over the rapper’s antisemitic statements. Gulden stated plans for how Adidas will continue with the sale are not in place.

“What we are trying to do now over time is to sell some of this merchandise … burning the goods would not be a solution,” Gulden said.

Donating the sneakers was not an option out of fear the sneakers would reach the secondary market. Adidas stock is up 2% so far on the day. Ye would still receive 15% of the sales.

Speaking on the rapper, Culden stated about Ye, “As difficult as he was, he is perhaps the most creative mind in our industry.”
