Ravens Attempted To Sign This Former Number One Pick

The Baltimore Ravens have had a busy off-season with starting QB Lamar Jackson essentially seeking a trade. The Ravens have been seeking a plan B. One of those plans being a former number-one overall pick. NBC Sports has reported that Baker Mayfield was offered a contract by Baltimore. Obviously, Mayfield turned down the contract, as the sixth-year QB is now in Tampa Bay. However, knowing the Ravens offered could mean the team is worried about Jackson returning.

Mayfield spent the 2022 season in two different cities. The former Cleveland Brown opened the season in Carolina. Then, after Matthew Stafford’s injury, the Rams made a deal to bring Mayfield to Los Angeles. Mayfield has yet to live up to being a number one overall pick. The former Oklahoma Sooner hasn’t thrown for 20 touchdowns in one season of his career. Indeed, he wouldn’t be the answer the Ravens are looking for if Jackson were to exit. However, he was still a steady option at the time.

Baker Mayfield Turns Down Ravens

If you were to put yourself in Baker Mayfield’s shoes, you can see why he made the decision he did. In Tampa, Mayfield has a great shot at becoming the starting QB. In Baltimore, the starting job would be in limbo. Especially if Lamar were to return to the team. Mayfield still believes he can be a number one option, as he should. No one should be playing in the league if they don’t believe they should be playing. However, it has to feel good if you’re a Cleveland fan. Nobody would want to see an old QB in their division.

It seems as if the Ravens are keeping their options open with a QB. Mayfield turned down the opportunity, but who is left? The Ravens current backup is Tyler Huntley. The team was impressed with his play in Jackson’s absence last season. However, it will be extremely difficult to fill the void of losing Jackson. What should the Ravens do at QB? Odell Beckham Jr.’s Most Likely Landing Spot Revealed

Odell Beckham Jr.’s last appearance on a football field was in 2022, helping the Los Angeles Rams win the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, Beckham tore his ACL in the game and missed all of last season. Beckham is still held in high regard among free-agent receivers looking for a home. According to Dan Graziano of ESPN, Beckham is fielding plenty of offers. While he may have his offers to choose from, who will land the superstar receiver?

Beckham has been a star in every stop he has made. He burst on the scene as a New York Giant. Then, created a tough tandem in Cleveland with Jarvis Landry. Beckham’s stop in Los Angeles seemed like the perfect opportunity for him. A chance to play with a high-caliber QB in Matthew Stafford. At the same time, he was lining up on the same side of the ball as Cooper Kupp. If reports are accurate, Beckham’s next stop may also include another high-caliber QB.

Is Odell Beckham Jr. Heading To The Concrete Jungle?

So Beckham has offers. Which of those deals looks the most appealing to the hungry receiver? The one team who seems most likely to land him would be the New York Jets. When the deal is inevitably done for Aaron Rodgers to be in New York, Odell could soon follow. However, the Baltimore Ravens are reportedly lying in the shadows waiting for OBJ. If the Ravens were to sign Beckham, it would be a huge reason for Lamar to stay. The Jets are looking to go from pretenders to contenders in just a calendar year.

Beckham is probably in no rush to decide his future. He certainly wouldn’t make a decision before seeing where Rodgers ends up this season. However, if the Jets score this duo, it could make them instant AFC East favorites. Although, the Dolphins and Bills won’t go down without a fight. Do you think the Jets are making the right decisions with OBJ and Rodgers? Just how far would the Jets go with them? Let us know in the comment section below. Asante Samuel Sends Warning To Lamar Jackson

The New England Patriots seem to be all but out of the running for Lamar Jackson. Before yesterday, many believed that New England would be a prime landing spot for Jackson. While most fans were daydreaming of a Belichick-Jackson combination, one former Patriot had other thoughts. Asante Samuel took to Twitter to tell Jackson to rethink any idea of landing in New England. As the years roll by, Belichick ball seems more and more like a less-than-fun time.

New England has been the end-all, be-all of the NFL. For the last 25 years, in order to win a Super Bowl, your team probably had to beat the Patriots. Now the Patriots are looking for a new identity. Long gone are the days of Tom Brady’s game-winning drives. It’s time for the future to become the present. Which is why so many thought Jackson was the perfect answer. However, if it were up to Asante Samuel, Jackson would stay far away.

Asante Samuel Fires Shots At Bill Belichick

Samuel spent five of his eleven seasons in New England under Bill Belichick. In that time, the Patriots won two Super Bowls. So it’s not like Samuel didn’t see success under the leadership of Belichick. Football fans have seen disciples of the Belichick coaching tree accept heading coaching gigs and attempt to instill Belichick’s values. None of those coaches have yet to succeed. Horror stories of Patriots practices began circling the news waves after Brady took his talents to South Beach. Maybe the time for Belichick ball has officially ended.

Samuel has his reasoning as to why he would make a Tweet like this. As it stands currently, New England has expressed no desire of adding the former league MVP to the roster. As Jackson is still trying to sort out his situation in Baltimore, New England is set with Mac Jones. What would you do if you were New England? Would Lamar Jackson entertain the idea of playing for Bill? Can the two create magic on the field? Please sound off in the comment section below to let us know how you feel. Travis Kelce Hilariously Tries To Name Every NFL Head Coach

Nobody is having a better 2023 than Travis Kelce. The Kansas City tight end has become a Super Bowl champion and host of a famous podcast. Not to mention he has even hosted SNL. The co-host of New Heights is Travis’ brother Jason. The two have become instant comedy and a great show tandem. The show is a lot of comedy, even though the brothers sprinkle in a little bit of seriousness. In the latest episode, Travis attempts to show off his NFL knowledge. Spoiler, it doesn’t go well.

Jason asks Travis to name every NFL head coach from the picture of the coaches taken at the owner meeting. Travis comes off as just naturally funny in the video. Almost as effortless as his play on the field. From the very beginning, spectators can tell that this is going to go poorly for Travis. Jason seems to be having a field day with Travis’s attempt at naming every head coach. He may not know them all, but at least he knew Andy Reid.

Travis Kelce Takes Fun Shot At Bengals

Maybe it wasn’t on purpose, but Travis Kelce forgot the name of one important head coach. When coming up to Bengals head coach Zac Taylor, Travis had no answer for who it was. Luckily brother Jason bailed him out. Still, it felt like a tiny shot at the Bengals, given their history. The Bengals and Chiefs have met in the playoffs in back-to-back seasons. With each team beating the other. Kind of strange Kelce would forget that name. Especially after the AFC Championship smack talk back in January.

Once again, the Kelce brothers deliver with their podcast. It seems as if one clip a week goes viral from the brother duo. New Heights is fun and extremely loose on how the show is run. It’s exactly what you would want on a podcast. New Episodes of the show are released every Wednesday and can be found anywhere you listen to podcasts. What are some of your favorite sports podcasts? Skip Bayless Hits Lamar Jackson With Some Advice

Skip Bayless is the latest sports media personality to attempt to reach Lamar Jackson. The Baltimore Ravens QB has voiced his displeasure with the team through Twitter, and that may not be the best bet. Jackson seeks greener pastures, although it has proven to be a difficult task. The only thing the media and fans know about the situation is whatever Lamar has been tweeting. The Ravens have been tight-lipped, other than saying the plan is to keep Jackson. The co-host of Undisputed decided to give Lamar some advice.

Bayless believes that the disgruntled QB should stay away from Twitter. A strange concept for someone like Bayless to admit. Bayless is known for his vocal takes and for staying in the middle of many social media scrums. However, Skip may not be that far off base when discussing Jackson. Jackson doesn’t have an agent to help him through contract discussions. So, tweeting all of his feelings on the situation may be a bad step toward working with the Ravens on a future contract.

Skip Bayless Looking Out For Lamar Jackson

When Shannon and Skip are in agreement, then maybe Lamar should listen. Twitter can be a cesspool of drama. Sharing your business as Lamar has on social media will only create more damage. Lamar wears his heart on his sleeve, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. However, it’s better to keep those conversations private when discussing business of this magnitude. Jackson isn’t afraid to go toe-to-toe with the franchise. Ravens fans should buckle up for a bumpy ride.

Skip Bayless is actually giving sound advice to the former MVP. It is entirely understandable for Jackson to feel hurt by the situation. However, one thing Jackson can’t forget is this is a business. The moment a player is no longer of any worth to a franchise, that said player would be on the next plane out of town. It’s the sad, harsh reality of professional sports. Do you think Skip’s advice to Lamar should be taken? Is Lamar better off doing things his own way? Please sound off in the comments, and let us know what you think. NFL Ref Bill Leavy Passes Away, Twitter Reacts

The NFL is celebrating the life of longtime official Bill Leavy. Leavy passed away on Wednesday, according to NFL executive Walt Anderson. The nineteen-year officiating veteran was 76 years old. Anderson stated that the cause of death has yet to be announced. Bill Leavy’s biggest career moment was the time he was selected to officiate Super Bowl 34. The contest featured the Tennessee Titans and the St. Louis Rams. The game went on to be one of the more iconic Super Bowls, with the Titans falling just short of a game-tying touchdown.

Anderson had plenty to say on just who Bill Leavy the person was. “Always kind and thoughtful,” Anderson further lamented his thoughts by saying, “Bill was instrumental in mentoring countless young officials throughout his career.” In a time where officiating is heavily scrutinized, an official like Levy remains revered. Many in the NFL community took to Twitter to celebrate the life of the NFL official.

Celebrating The Life Of Bill Leavy

Everyone from the media, colleagues, and former players extended their sympathies to the Leavy family. All are in agreement that Leavy is the perfect example of what an NFL official should be. As well as how someone should conduct their own lives. The NFL lost a special person in the passing of Leavy. Leavy called it a career in 2014. A career that began in 1995 went full circle as Leavy was awarded the Art McNally award in 2019. An award that is given to the greatest officials of the sport.

A sad day in the NFL. However, even through the sadness, everyone has been able to share the positive impact that Leavy left behind. Which is the best thing a person can do. Do you have any stories on games that Leavy officiated in his career? Any fun moments that you can recall during his tenure? Drop a story in our comment section below. For more NFL news, stay with us at HNHH. Before signing off, I would like to extend my sympathy to the family of Bill Leavy. A true professional of NFL officiating and a great human being.

Aaron Rodgers Rumors: Packers Change Trade Demands

The Aaron Rodgers trade saga has yet to find its ending. Rodgers has expressed his intent on being a New York Jet this upcoming season. However, the Green Bay Packers want a good return on their investment. Rodgers made his decision to seek a trade after a darkness retreat. Yes, a darkness retreat, where he found the answers he had been looking for. Both sides in the trade talks seem to be in no rush to hurry the process. However, Green Bay may be changing its tune.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk has revealed what he believes the Packers will receive in the trade. “I think they’re going to get a second-round pick from the Jets in this year, a second-round pick next year that can become a first-round pick depending upon what the Jets do with Aaron Rodgers this year, and on the back end, possibility that the Jets get something back from the Packers if he only plays one year, in 2025,” Florio said. While it may not be the haul Green Bay is expecting, both sides seem ready to move on.

When Will The Aaron Rodgers Trade Saga End?

Florio does seem to think that the Jets aren’t willing to give up the 13th pick in this year’s draft. The Jets may have a fear that the veteran QB will not be with the franchise long. A situation that has burnt the Jets in the past with Brett Favre. Just like Favre, the Rodgers-Packers marriage is ending in a blaze of glory. Rodgers brought the team one Super Bowl victory and countless playoff mishaps. A change of scenery could be a great decision for both.

It seems as if the Aaron Rodgers trade drama will never end. Maybe one day soon, the world will awake to the news that Rodgers is finally a Jet. Until then, the speculation will continue to grow. For a guy who claims he doesn’t want the spotlight, it seems to be on him a lot. What are your thoughts on the Aaron Rodgers trade demands? Is Green Bay asking for too much? Are the Jets getting a steal with the veteran QB? Please leave us your thoughts in the comment section below. To stay on top of all the Rodgers and NFL news, stay with us here at HNHH.

Marquise Brown Sentenced In Speeding Case

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marquise Brown received his sentencing for a speeding case. TMZ has reported that Brown will pay a $473 fine. In February, Brown pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of excessive speeding. Brown was arrested in August of 2022 on these charges. According to police, the Cardinals receiver was caught going 126 mph in a 65 mph zone. The NFL star was driving a 2020 Mercedes during the incident. The incident took place in Maricopa County.

In 2022, Brown finished his first season with the Arizona Cardinals. After spending his first three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, he was traded to Arizona. Brown competed in 12 games for the Cardinals. Grabbing just three touchdowns on 709 receiving yards. The speeding incident took place before the 2022 regular season began. However, an incident of this magnitude could’ve still weighed heavy on the Arizona star. With so much happening in his life, it’s easy to say that Brown was distracted in 2022. One can only hope Brown sees a more positive 2023.

Marquise Brown Avoids Jail Time In Speeding Incident

Brown’s 2022 campaign was hit with injuries and this incident. The young receiver is hopeful for a turnaround in 2023. “Hollywood’s” biggest season came in 2021 with the Ravens. The Lamar Jackson-Marquise Brown connection was a deadly combination for Baltimore. Brown finished 2021 with over one thousand yards receiving and six touchdown catches. A healthy Brown would be a huge factor for an Arizona team that is looking to fix a struggling offense. Just how will Brown fit in a new-look offense in the desert? A talent like Brown would be easy to plug into any offense.

It seems as if Brown understands the ramifications of his actions. Brown will hopefully put this incident behind him. Only time will tell if Brown has learned from the 2022 incident. While looking ahead to the 2023 season, will Brown have a clear mind? Will the Cardinals right the ship under a new regime? The aforementioned injuries of 2022 are hopefully behind him as well. Can Brown return to his 2021 form? Let us know in the comment section below. For the latest news on the happenings of the NFL, stay with us at HNHH.

Eagles Fans Eagerly Wait On Return Of Retro Look

The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off a tough loss in the Super Bowl but a highly successful season. If asked before the season, there wouldn’t have been many in the media crowning the Eagles king of the NFC. However, with the birth of a superstar in Jalen Hurts, along with a stout defense, the Eagles have to be favorites for the upcoming season. Eagles players and fans alike are chomping at the bit for next season to begin, we now know the team will be playing in style.

Retro uniforms can be a thing of beauty. In any sport, when done right, retro looks are a beautiful design that respects the past and gives fans a snapshot of their franchise’s history. The Eagles are a team who have a chance to kick straight through the uprights with a retro look. Fans are going to get the chance to see the Kelly green uniforms take the field once again this coming season. A perfect color to match anyone that might wear the newly approved number zero.

Philadelphia Eagles Delight With Retro Look

The absolute coldest look in the entire league. One could even argue that this should return as the permanent look of the Philadelphia Eagles. From the helmets to the cleats, there’s not a cleaner look than this. A permanent change to the Kelly green could change the stigma of the 1-2 record the Eagles have in the big game with their current look. The Eagles didn’t fail on the field last season, and they certainly won’t be in the uniform department this season, either.

More teams should take notes and bring back the looks of yesteryear. A matchup of these Kelly greens versus those beautiful 80’s Giants threads is enough to make an elder millennial shed a few tears. Or, even another chance to see those 90’s blue top Detroit Lions uniforms. What other retro looks would you like to see in the NFL? Please drop a comment in the section below and let us hear your thoughts. For the latest news on uniform drops in the NFL, continue checking in with HNHH.

Patrick Mahomes Had This To Say On Latest TNF News

Patrick Mahomes is fresh off of his second Super Bowl victory. Even though the Kansas City QB is still celebrating the team’s victory, it’s never too early to look ahead. In this case, Mahomes is looking at a move made by the NFL and the owners. A potential flex scheduling rule for Thursday Night Football has been tabled until May. However, the thought of flexing Thursday night games has not sat well with many players.

Even newly retired JJ Watt took to Twitter to voice his displeasure on the idea of flexing Thursday night games. “Flexing games from Sunday to Thursday is a terrible idea for two main reasons: 1) Player Safety You can’t make this decision and also preach that player safety is a priority. 2) Fans,” Watt wrote. The NFL legend makes a great point for both reasons he provided. Expecting a team to change their schedule on such short notice is an insane ask from the league.

Patrick Mahomes Seems To Have No Interest In Flexing TNF

While the flexing of TNF games may not be happening now, teams may now have to play two games on Thursday in one season. Asking a team to play two TNF games in one season seems like an asinine concept. Short weeks for such a physical sport are just asking for more injuries to occur. Yes, the league has made good choices, like allowing players to wear the number zero. On the other hand, the league makes decisions like this to leave everyone scratching their head. Or, in Patrick Mahomes’ case, a palm to the face.

When it comes down to it, money is the most significant factor in any major decision. The NFL wants to please the sponsors while grabbing as many eyeballs as they can. Having the option to flex good teams to play on TNF is a great move from an ownership standpoint. However, for the players, this could be a daunting challenge. What are your thoughts on the potential of flexing TNF games? Sound off in the comment section below. To follow this story and many others, subscribe to HNHH for all your sports news.
