The New York Jets are reportedly unhappy with Aaron Rodgers after it was announced he was the frontrunner to be Robert F. Kennedy Jr’s running mate for President. “It’s absurd to think he could campaign and play simultaneously,” one team source told the Daily Mail. “Lots of the coaches and players want Aaron to commit to the team and worry about winning the Super Bowl over a chance to be in the White House,” added another.

Rodgers is expected to be QB1 for the Jets when the 2024 season kicks off later this year. The team has already granted Zach Wilson permission to seek a trade and recently signed Tyrod Taylor to back up Rodgers. Rodgers is reportedly being considered by Kennedy alongside former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura. Keendy is mounting a long-shot independent bid after withdrawing a long-shot bid against Joe Biden in the Democratic Primary. Kennedy Jr is a noted anti-vaxer and nephew of JFK. Swift is now on a tour hiatus until May. The European leg of the tour kicks off in Nanterre, a suburb of Paris, on May 9. Swift will then crisscross Europe until August when she closes out that leg of the tour in London. Paramore will accompany Swift as her supporting act for all European shows. After Europe, Swift takes a break until October before performing a number of shows across the US and Canada. The tour officially ends in Vancouver on December 8.

Dak Prescott Sues Sexual Assault Accuser, Claims Extortion

Dak Prescott has filed a lawsuit, alleging that a woman accusing him of sexual assault is attempting to extort $100M from him. Prescott is seeking $1M in damages, which he will donate to a charity that aids sexual violence survivors. The allegations of sexual assault emerged earlier this year. Prescott was served notice by attorneys representing a woman who was accusing him of assault in 2017. “Despite the tragic events, she is willing to forego pursuing criminal charges, along with disclosing this information to the public, in exchange for compensating her for the mental anguish she has suffered. [The woman’s] damages are valued at the sum of $100,000,000.00,” the letter read.

However, Prescott – who was in his sophomore NFL season in 2017 – has vehemently denied the allegations. “Mr. Prescott — a new father to a baby girl — has great empathy for survivors of sexual assault. He fervently believes that all perpetrators of such crimes should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. To be clear, Mr. Prescott has never engaged in any nonconsensual, sexual conduct with anyone. Lies hurt. Especially, malicious lies. We will not allow the defendant and her legal team to profit from this attempt to extort millions from Mr. Prescott,” his attorney said.

Cowboys Cheerleaders Accuse Packers Players Of “Unsportsmanlike Conduct”

Elsewhere, a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader has spoken out over what she called “unsportsmanlike conduct” on the part of the Green Bay Packers. “I have never experienced such disrespect from the other teams’ players to the cheerleaders in my five years as an NFL cheerleader. We would literally be minding our own business and the Packers just scored a touchdown — this is one example. The controversial Democrat, and nephew of JFK, has launched an independent presidential bid after failing to mount a challenge against Joe Biden. Rodgers’ name is near the top of a list that also includes former Minnesota Governor, and WWE legend, Jesse Ventura. RFK Jr and Rodgers reportedly “speak frequently” and hold very similar anti-vaccine beliefs.

Of course, being nominated as a vice-presidential candidate could deal Rodgers’ return to the NFL. While Kennedy is a long-shot candidate, it would be expected that Rodgers would appear on the campaign trail. That might put him at odds with the Jets, who are expecting him to be QB1 come the fall. Rodgers has never spoken publicly about running for office. Jets owner Woody Johnson is a major donor for Donald Trump and previously served as Trump’s ambassador to the United Kingdom.

However, Rodgers has already cemented himself as something of a controversial character. Earlier this year, Rodgers was quietly removed from his weekly spot on The Pat McAfee Show. The news came after Rodgers pointedly refused to apologize to Jimmy Kimmel. Rodgers, who had implied that Kimmel did not want the list of people who had traveled to Jeffrey Epstein’s island to be made public, argued that he never actually made any specific assertions about Kimmel. Per The Athletic, the decision to remove Rodgers was made by McAfee and not mandated by ESPN.

After Rodgers’ initial comments, McAfee tried to clear the air between the long-time rivals. The New England Patriots continue to clean house as ESPN reports the team intends to trade embattled quarterback Mac Jones. Pending a physical, Jones will head to the Jaguars for a sixth-round pick. In Jacksonville, he will compete to be the primary backup for fellow 2021 first-round pick Trevor Lawrence. The trade, which cannot be finalized until the new NFL year starts on Wednesday, ends a tumultuous three years in Foxboro for Jones. Despite making waves late in his college career at Alabama, many experts were surprised to see the Patriots take him 15th overall in 2021.

Jones threw for nearly 4000 yards in his rookie year before drastically declining. He failed to surpass 3000 yards in his sophomore season and was benched for Bailey Zappe after 11 games of the 2023 season. While Jones’ development was undoubtedly affected by the departure of Josh McDaniels, he also suffered from the Alabama Curse. Teams continue to seemingly overvalue Crimson Tide QBs, often putting undue pressure on players at the NFL level. The Patriots are expected to take a quarterback with the third-overall pick in this year’s draft.

Saints Extend Tyrann Mathieu

Elsewhere, the New Orleans Saints have extended Tyrann Mathieu, giving Honey Badger two more years in the Big Easy. The contract, as mentioned, is for two years and totals $13M. In 2023, Mathieu had 75 tackles (50 solo) and four interceptions. This put him joint-fifth in tackles and joint-first in interceptions on a team that finished 9-8 on the season but missed out on the playoffs due to tiebreakers. The Saints are facing the daunting task of navigating an offseason that sees them nearly $69M over the salary cap despite the historic increase of $30.6M.

Mathieu enters his third season with the Saints. He began his career in 2013 as a third-round pick for the Cardinals.
