Anthony Edwards Gets Huge Fine For Ref Comments

Anthony Edwards has been fined $40K for his derogatory comments aimed at the officiating crew present for the Timberwolves’ win against the Thunder earlier this week. The NBA levied the fine at the young star for “repeatedly publicly criticizing the officiating”. Edwards clearly expected it, saying that he was going to “take the fine” as he went after the refs. Despite the win, Edwards said like Wolves were playing “8-on-5” due to the lack of calls going the team’s way.

However, it’s not the first time that the NBA has gone after Edwards. Last year, he was fined $50K for throwing a chair courtside after the Wolves’ playoff elimination at the hands of the Nuggets. Despite the hefty fine, Edwards did not miss any games due to the incident. A number of staffers unsuccessfully sued Edwards over the incident, claiming to have been injured during the incident. The case was dismissed before going to trial.

Are NBA Fines Getting Out Of Hand?

Of course, the NBA has been getting increasingly frequent with its fines. Last year, the NBA fined Embiid $35K for “repeatedly making an obscene gesture on the playing court” in November 2023. The gesture in question was the “DX Crotch Chop”, something first seen in the WWE by the D-Generation X stable. Embiid broke out the move after scoring off a foul in the third quarter in the Sixers’ home opener against the Blazers. Earlier this year, in January, Embiid was fined $25K for making the same gesture in a similar situation against the Nets.

Despite being out $35K, Embiid has gotten an invaluable invitation out of the moment. After news of the fine broke, Triple H, one of the best known DX wrestlers, hit Embiid up on Twitter. “Hey @JoelEmbiid – I know a place where you can do that all day, and everyone will love it. WrestleMania 40 is right there in Philly…,” the wrestler wrote. Furthermore, the milestone wrestling will touch down in the City of Brotherly Love this April.

Panthers Owner Fined After Throwing Drink At Jags Fan

The NFL has fined Panthers owner David Tepper $300K after he was spotted throwing a drink at Jags fans from his open-air suite. The moment came as the Panthers were shut out 26-0 by the hometown Jags. The team was playing without Trevor Lawrence for the first time since they drafted him. “I should have let NFL stadium security handle any issues that arose. I respect the NFL’s code of conduct and accept the League’s discipline for my behavior,” Tepper said in a statement. The video was originally uploaded to social media by a Jags fan in a nearby suite. However, as the league’s second-richest owner, the fine is 0.000001% of his net worth.

The loss ended the Panthers’ 342-game streak without a shutout. Furthermore, it is one of the lowest points in an overall terrible season. Despite grabbing Bryce Young first overall in the 2023 Draft, the team started 0-5 and currently sit at 2-14. Tepper fired head coach Frank Reich earlier in the season, the third head coach Tepper has dismissed since buying the team in 2018. Of course, chants of “sell the team” could be heard intermittently throughout the game. On the field, the Panthers generated less than 200 yards of total offense.

Panthers Secure First Overall Pick…For The Bears

Furthermore, the shutout loss means that the Panthers secured the first-overall pick in the 2024 Draft. However, thanks to the trade that landed them Young, the Bears will pick at No. 1 instead when April rolls around. If the Bears opt to stick with Justin Fields, the NFL could see Chicago trade the No. 1 pick for the second year in a row. Furthermore, the 7-9 Bears are expected to have a top-10 selection with their own natural 2024 pick.

As with the 2023 Draft, quarterbacks are expected to head the first few picks. Caleb Williams (USC), Drake Maye (North Carolina), and Heisman winner Jayden Daniels (LSU) are all expected to be off the board in the first three picks. Furthermore, J.J. McCarthy (Michigan) and Michael Penix Jr (Washington) could sneak into the first round. Given the latest draft projections, this will likely see Chicago, Washington, and New England debut rookie starters in 2024.

50 Cent Thinks Diddy’s Going To Be “Fine” Regardless Of Sexual Abuse Lawsuits

50 Cent is a bit on the fence with Diddy’s sexual assault accusations and the multiple lawsuits he faces. On one hand, he’s relentlessly trolled him over it for the past few weeks, with a new jab, shot, or joke thrown every other day on social media. On the other, though, Fif thinks that Sean Combs is going to be able to move past this in the future. Actually, maybe that’s not a fair assessment: at least he will have enough money to not lose his status and lifestyle outright. That’s what the G-Unit mogul suggested on Instagram on Sunday (December 3) to his many followers.

“After Sexual Assault Suits, Are Sean Combs’s Empire and Brand at Risk?” a New York Times headline read. Moreover, 50 Cent reposted this on his IG page and answered the publication’s question quite bluntly. “No,” he replied. “He will be fine, He has so much money. When his corporate partners pull out, he will just reach in his pockets and make it happen. You saw how fast he paid Cassie. He’s a real Billionaire he has f**k you money guys, So f**k you ! @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi @thefinallaptour Diddy Do It ? COMING SOON !”

50 Cent Doesn’t Think This Is The End Of Diddy’s Success

For those unaware, the biggest example of 50 Cent’s shots at Diddy amid controversies about his alleged abhorrent behavior was that he might be producing a documentary on the whole scandal. When reacting to news coverage of this possibility, though, he made his status very clear. “RAPPER?” the “Many Men” MC wrote. “I thought Diddy was a Billionaire music mogul. If he’s smart he will file bankruptcy now. Anyone with real money knows why I’m saying this. I’m the best producer for the job guys. Here come the receipts.”

Meanwhile, these allegations against Puff Daddy also caused people to consider more spiritual explanations. For example, many folks pointed to his tattoo of Haitian spirit Ezili Dantor as a sign that he faced punishment for his misdeeds. This is still a very nasty situation to talk about, despite people like 50 Cent toeing the line between dismissal and continued criticism. For more news on him and the latest updates on Diddy, keep checking in with HNHH.

Joel Embiid Fined $35K For “Obscene” Celebration

The NBA has fined Joel Embiid $35K for “repeatedly making an obscene gesture on the playing court”. Embiid, Sixers Adjust To Life After Harden

The Sixers are 2-1, avenging an opening loss to the Bucks with big wins over the Raptors and Blazers. However. Embiid and the team are now working to figure out life after James Harden. The veteran was finally traded to the Clippers earlier this week. The move possibly marks the last big deal before the trade deadline rolls around. It remains to be seen whether removing Harden’s presence from the locker room will help or hinder the team moving forward. While the team also said goodbye to PJ Tucker, they now have a wealth of draft capital and some solid rotational pieces.

Within the Sixers camp, there appears to be an attempt to be business as usual. “I did [get a call] and I slept through it. But I did get up a couple hours later and came into the office,” head coach Nick Nurse said of learning about the trade. Meanwhile, the players weren’t surprised that Harden was finally moved. “I think our group has been prepared. I think we’ve done a good job of keeping the main thing the main thing, and I think that’s what’s gotten us all to a solid start. We have some really good guys that are focused, that are determined to go out there and play and show what we can do, and [a] coach that’s keeping our mind in the right place,” starter Tyrese Maxey said. Additionally, the Sixers host the Raptors in their next game.

Carlee Russell Interview With Candace Owens May Happen, Author Offers To Pay Criminal’s $18K Fine

When Carlee Russell allegedly disappeared while helping a toddler on the side of the highway back in the summer, all hell broke loose online. Extensive search efforts went toward locating the missing woman, though her loved ones were surprised to find her walking barefoot back to their house 48 hours after she was reportedly taken. What happened while Russell was missing remains largely unknown, but Candace Owens is eager to get us the answers we’ve been craving.

Just last week, the 25-year-old found out her fate for the kidnapping hoax, which includes paying $18K in restitution. As The Shade Room reports, we’re still waiting to find out whether Russell will serve time in jail, which could be for as long as a year. When Owens heard the news about the nursing student’s situation, she shared a video offering to pay the fine if Carlee indulges her with the truth about what happened during her mysterious disappearance.

“America Deserves to Know” Carlee Russell’s Truth, Candace Declares

“Where was Carlee Russell for those 48 hours that she was missing?” the conservative commentator asked the camera. “We still don’t know, and that’s why I think about it every single day,” Owens’ rant continued. She then shared her plans to visit Carlee behind bars “probably, at least once a week,” because she feels so attached to the story. “I need to talk to you, I need to understand where you were for 48 hours — I will give you anything!” the host implored. “Please, come on this show — we are begging!”

While Candace Owens is obviously desperate to hear Carlee Russell’s side of the story, at least one person has made it clear he hopes to never speak with the young woman again. Her former boyfriend gave an interview back in September during which he addressed allegations of him seemingly using the messy situation for clout, and gave an update on where he and Russell stand at this time. Read more about that at the link below, and check back later for more music/pop culture news updates.

George Kittle Hit With $13K Fine For Cowboys T-Shirt

Niners tight end George Kittle has been hit with a fine over $13,000 for a “Fuck Dallas” t-shirt he wore against the Cowboys last weekend. Kittle wore the shirt, which was in the Cowboys’ traditional colors, under his uniform and revealed it during a celebration of a teammate’s touchdown. Furthermore, the shirt was an homage to former Niner Gary Plummer. Plummer wore a similar shirt against the Cowboys during the 1994 playoffs. However, The NFL has been considering a fine throughout the week. The typical fine for a personal message uniform violation is a little over $10,000.

Despite this, Kittle was nonchalant about the proceedings. “Probably to get a fine. I wore a personalized T-shirt, maybe an inappropriate word. So it is what it is. It was a decision I made. If they want to fine me, they fine me,” Kittle said when he was asked what punishment he likely faced for the stunt. Furthermore, Kittle voiced no regrets about the situation. “One hundred percent I’d do it again,” Kittle added.

Kittle, Niners Crusing This Season

The Niners have emerged as one of the best teams in the NFL this season. 5-0, they are just one of the two unbeaten teams left in the league. It’s their first 5-0 start since 2019, when the team started 8-0 before dropping their first game. Furthermore, they have a point differential of +99 and have won all games bar one by double digits. The Niners, who began the season with 8-1 Super Bowl odds, are now title favorites at 7-2.

Meanwhile, Kittle continues to thrive. The tight end has 215 yards and three touchdowns through the first five games of the year. He’s already well on his way to surpass his 2022 stats of 765 yards and 11 touchdowns. This week the Niners take on the 2-2 Browns. The Browns, who enter the game as heavy underdogs, will be without starters Joel Bitonio and DeShaun Watson. David Njoku, who suffered full-face burns just a few weeks ago, is listed as questionable on the most recent injury report.

NBA Reveals Punishment For Anthony Edwards Chair Throw

Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Anthony Edwards has been fined $50,000 for throwing a chair that hit two bystanders during the NBA playoffs. The incident occurred in the moments after the Timberwolves’ season had come to an end at the hands of the Denver Nuggets. Despite the incident occurring in April, the NBA has had to wait on punishing Edwards. This was due to a criminal investigation into the incident, which was dismissed last month.

Despite the hefty fine, Edwards will not miss any games in the 2023-24 season. Edwards, the first-overall pick in the 2020 draft, had a big year for the Timberwolves last season. He put up 24.6 points per game, best for 16th in the league. He also had 5.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game across 79 games played. However, Edwards also missed a game-tying three at the end of regulation in Game 5, sealing the Timberwolves’ fate.

Edwards Avoids Suspension

Edwards is currently with Team USA preparing for the FIBA World Cup, which is being hosted in Southeast and East Asia later this month. While $50,000 feels like a lot of money, many people feel that Edwards got off lightly. Furthermore, as mentioned, Edwards will be fully available for the start of the season. This is in contrast to the 25-game suspension that Ja Morant will serve at the start of the season. In light of the fine news, many people have made jokes surrounding viral footage of a fight at a jetty in Alabama. One participant in the fight can be seen using a chair.

Edwards signed a max rookie extension (5 years, $260M) with the Timberwolves in what was their biggest move of the offseason. Overall, Minnesota primarily focused on adding depth, seeming to believe that they already have a contender-level roster. However, they did sign Troy Brown Jr. and Shake Milton. Both players were brought in on 2-year, $10 million contracts. The Timberwolves were also lucky in that they only lost one player to free agency. Taurean Prince left to join the Lakers on a one-year deal. In the draft, Minnesota picked up UCLA shooting guard Jaylen Clark in the second round as their own rookie acquisition.

Nets Guard Cam Thomas Fined $40K For “No Homo” Comment During TV Interview

The NBA just fined Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas for using the phrase “no homo” during a post-game interview. Moreover, he made such comments during an on-court interview with teammate Spencer Dinwiddie on TNT. Following their victory against the Chicago Bulls on February 9, Thomas let the phrase fly. “We already got good-looking dudes, no homo,” he told the interviewer as he laughed with his teammate. “I’m sure the legal office will enjoy that one,” the interviewer remarked, and he wasn’t wrong.

Furthermore, the NBA released a statement on Friday (February 10) acknowledging Thomas’ comments. “Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas has been fined $40,000 for using derogatory and disparaging language during a live television interview,” their statement read. “It was announced today by Joe Dumars, Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations. Thomas made his comments during an on-court interview at the conclusion of the Nets‘ 116-105 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Feb. 9 at Barclays Center.”

Meanwhile, the Nets guard took to Twitter to apologize for his comments and clarify his intent. “I want to apologize for the insensitive word I used in the post-game interview, I was excited about the win and was being playful. I definitely didn’t intend to offend anyone, but realize that I probably did. My apologies again. Much love.”

Still, a lot of people think that this might be taking things a bit too far. For example, many compared it to the backlash Kyrie Irving received last year. “But let Kyrie say that they gon label him homophobic and make him sit down and talk to gay people,” a tweeter posted. “And donate his money to the LGBTQ foundation. They pick and choose who they wanna critique.” However, to equate a playful comment to pushing unjust discrimination against Jewish people is wildly short-sighted. Regardless, many believe that double standards might be at play.

Also, some people just acknowledged that it’s also about who you are. “Yes, bigger stars get far more attention,” another user tweeter. “If Dennis Schroder says something offensive, it’s not going to get the reaction it would if LeBron said it.” Whether you think Cam Thomas went too far or not, stick around on HNHH for the latest updates.
