Nicki Minaj recently spoke to Ebro Darden on Apple Music about her new album Pink Friday 2, hip-hop’s current state, and a whole lot more. While she’s very much enjoying herself these days and enjoying the success of her project, this sit-down also called for some reflection. For example, the Trinidadian MC eventually expressed some thoughts and remarks about her late father Robert Maraj, who tragically passed away following a hit-and-run in 2021. Specifically, she recalled their last conversation, which was just hours before his death. It’s quite the emotive moment to witness, and one we hope will allow the 41-year-old to continue to heal and honor her dad.
“One day, I was rocking the baby in the rocking chair in his room,” Nicki Minaj shared. “I do not normally even have the phone on me when I’m rocking him. Because at that time, I was mad strict… But anyway, that day, as I’m rocking him, the phone rings. I look down, I see it’s my father, I normally would not have picked up, I promise you. I would’ve said, ‘OK,’ because I don’t like to be on the phone with the baby there. But something said, ‘Pick up the phone.’
“I picked up,” Nicki Minaj continued. “He was very happy. He was like, ‘Baby, I can come on Monday.’ Because he had been waiting to come to Cali to help me. And I kept saying, ‘Come on out.’ That was Friday. He said he wanted to come on Monday. And we were so happy. I was like, ‘Yes! We’re gonna get help.’
“And then we went to bed and sometime late while we were all asleep, the phone rang,” she concluded. “It was my mother telling me that my father was in an accident and that she didn’t know what was gonna happen and she would call me back. And then everything started spinning, like literally.” For more news and the latest updates on Nicki Minaj, stick around on HNHH. Rest In Peace Robert Maraj.
N.O.R.E. was one of many hip-hop legends that performed at the Lovers & Friends Festival last Saturday (May 6) in Las Vegas. However, he was perhaps the only act in attendance who teased that it would be his final performance. The Drink Champs host has obviously found a lot of success with that show, and he hinted at it being time to fully enter a new chapter. Regardless of that info, the Queens MC still played through many of his greatest tracks much to the excitement of the crowd. Still, it’s quite the bittersweet affirmation from the rapper, as fans are always going to want more.
With that in mind, it’s actually been quite rare for N.O.R.E. to perform these days. As such, maybe this revelation, as unofficial as it may be, shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to many hardcore fans. Even considering his increasing focus in the podcasting space and other media avenues, people usually go for a farewell tour. Just look at 50 Cent, who recently announced “The Final Lap” tour and hinted at his last hurrah in the trek’s title.
No matter his seemingly relinquished performance duties, the 45-year-old is still very proud of what he’s built on Drink Champs. While catching up with HipHopDX at Lovers & Friends, he revealed that his interview with Nas was the most surreal for him to do. “That’s my brother and I never really wanted to interview him at all because he’s my brother, but the fact that he did sit down… it’s very weird to ask people questions that you don’t wanna ask them,” N.O.R.E. expressed. “I’m not the police, and they know I’m not the police, but at the end of the day, I wanna have fun and I wanna make them surreal.
“At the end of the day, all hip-hop stars is superheroes,” he continued. “But the thing is what makes Drink Champs Drink Champs is I don’t make ’em superheroes. I make them Clark Kents.” Considering that, N.O.R.E. might not hit the stage again, but he’ll surely continue contributing to the culture in a positive and influential way. Chlöe’s tour in support of her new album In Pieces was equal parts impressive, eventful, and deeply enjoyable. Moreover, that’s due to her amazing combination of talents, whether it’s singing a tender ballad or showcasing her moves during a banger. As a promo for her final stop of the tour, which took place on Wednesday (May 3) at The Novo in Los Angeles, she posted a video of her with her dancers on her Instagram page. Donning just some grey sweats as opposed to her usual stunning outfits, the Bailey sister seems like she wanted to have a lot of fun for her wrap-up.
Even though Chlöe finished her tour, she still probably has a lot more to celebrate and show off throughout the year. For example, she recently starred in the Donald Glover and Janine Nabers-created limited series “Swarm” in a breakout screen role. Though that garnered her some controversy, the Atlanta native played it off with grace and style. Also, she recently starred in the film Praise This, which started rumors of a romance with co-star Quavo.
Chlöe Teases Last Tour Stop With Her Dance Moves
All those extracurriculars aside, it seems that what the 24-year-old is proudest of is her solo debut album and the expression of emotion that came with it. “Every single song on that project stems from my own experiences,” Chlöe told Complex during an interview. “Every song I have is personal. It has been so much fun collaborating with such incredible song makers.” On Instagram, she explained the cover art. “This cover represents so much for me, down to the color of my hair… when I had the red hair 1.5 years ago, it was one of the darkest times in my life… that’s why I never wore it again. In Pieces is for the ones like me, who wear their outer shell so well that you’d have no idea what they’re going through.”
As the In Pieces tour wraps up, we certainly have a lot from the “I Don’t Mind” singer to look back on. In fact, we might even see her in a completely new area of creativity for her given a recent snippet. She recently tried her hand at making a beat, which could develop into even stronger artistic expressions within music. With that in mind, stay logged into HNHH for the latest news and updates on Chlöe.

If you didn’t get a chance to catch Lil Wayne on his “Welcome To Tha Carter” tour, at least you now have a chance to witness its greatness from the comfort of your home. Moreover, Weezy announced on Monday (May 1) that he and his team will livestream the trek’s final stop, which is in The Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles on May 13. Furthermore, the stream will begin at 9 p.m. PDT (12 a.m. EDT) that night, followed by a rebroadcast at 8 p.m. AEST and 8 p.m. BST the next day. These would be 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. in eastern time, respectively.
Also on May 14, the show will be available to purchase on-demand starting at 5 p.m. EDT, and said availability ends at 5 p.m. EDT on May 16. In order to access these airings and recordings, fans will pay $15 for their livestream tickets, which are available here. Of course, for hardcore fans of the Young Money icon who couldn’t see him in person, this is a very exciting announcement. The final stop of the 28-date tour might bring more exceptional moments, like when Lil Wayne brought outDrake in Toronto.
Lil Wayne Performing Onstage
Other highlights of the “Welcome To Tha Carter” tour, aside from Tunechi’s consistently amazing performances, involve his guests. For example, NLE Choppa gifted Lil Wayne a stunning custom chain at his Boston concert, which features four Mount Rushmore-like figures of the New Orleans native representing his different eras. In addition, Wayne and Cam’ron performed their collaboration “Touch It or Not” for the first time ever while he stopped at Harlem for his tour.
Unfortunately for some, the successful tour ran into some pitfalls along the way. Fans in Atlanta took to social media to vent after the 40-year-old had to cancel his show there. While neither he nor his team explained why beyond “unforeseen circumstances,” hopeful concert-goers expressed a mix of anger, disappointment, but also concern for his well-being and safety. Fortunately, since then, it seems like things have gone great, and will end even greater now. For more updates on this story and the latest news on Lil Wayne, log back into HNHH.
One of the most anticipated projects of this year will apparently see the light of day sooner rather than later. Moreover, DJ Drama recently revealed that Lil Uzi Vert is adding the final touches to their highly anticipated album, The Pink Tape. From what the Philly icon revealed to Justin Credible on the latter’s podcast, there are very little steps left before the tape is ready to hit digital shelves. Furthermore, fans have been waiting for The Pink Tape since Uzi teased it shortly after Eternal Atake and Lil Uzi Vert Vs. The World 2 dropped. While they’ve held fans over since then with singles and the RED & WHITE EP, there’s nothing quite like a full-length project of Uzi material.
“[Lil Uzi Vert] and [Don] Cannon have been hard at work,” DJ Drama remarked to the radio host. “They’re just in the process of finalizing the final sequencing and tracklisting of the project.” This means they likely finished all its tracks by this point, which is very exciting for fans. However, fans also wonder whether we’ll hear a different style from the 27-year-old given other changes in the recording process.
DJ Drama Says Lil Uzi Vert Almost Finished The Pink Tape
The first (and most commendable) is Lil Uzi Vert’s sobriety throughout their creative process. “I thought that my creative process wasn’t gonna be the same because I wasn’t on drugs no more,” they remarked to TMZ. “It made sense. It wasn’t like I just made random music. I didn’t just play off the beat. I actually made songs with topics this time. It can change your life.” Considering that their massive hit “Just Wanna Rock” employs more Jersey club-inspired rhythms, maybe we’ll hear Baby Pluto engage with more different sounds on The Pink Tape.
Meanwhile, Uzi stans also hope that The Pink Tape will contain their reunion with Playboi Carti, which they teased at Rolling Loud and with an Instagram Story post. At the festival, one of the lines in unreleased material he played shouts the WholeLotta Red rapper out and says that’s where his heart is, despite not talking often. “Me and my luv about to take over the world,” the Philly rapper wrote on their IG Story, tagging Carti in the pic. On that note, what are you most excited for on The Pink Tape? Let us know in the comments below and come back to HNHH for the latest on DJ Drama and Lil Uzi Vert.
Ne-Yo and his ex-wife Crystal Renay finalized their divorce in just five months, according to Page Six. Moreover, the publication received court documents detailing the proceedings and terms of the split. The R&B singer will pay Renay $1.6 million to equilibrate their holdings in real estate. Also, he’ll pay $20,000 for moving expenses, according to a TMZ report of settlement details. In addition, Renay kept one of their four homes in Georgia as a result of this process. However, that’s still not all, as Ne-Yo agreed to give his ex-wife another $150,000 check to buy a new car.
After all, he’s the one keeping their 2022 Bentley Bentayaga, so it’s only fair. Still, these payments add to other monetary support that Ne-Yo must offer to his former partner. For example, the 43-year-old will pay Renay $12,000 a month in child support for their three children together. Also, they agreed to joint custody and Ne-Yo agreed to cover expenses regarding education. Furthermore, the “So Sick” singer will also give his 36-year-old ex $5,000 a month in alimony for the next three years. Overall, these expenses add up to almost $2 million dollars for Ne-Yo.
However, all this hassle and monetary coverage is understandable given the case’s high profile and months-long development. Moreover, Renay filed for divorce from the Arkansas-born artist in August of 2022. However, it caught media attention for Renay’s public claims that Ne-Yo cheated on her. “To say I’m heartbroken and disgusted is a understatement. To ask me to stay and accept it is absolutely insane,” she expressed as the news broke. “The mentality of a narcissist. I will no longer lie to the public or pretend that this is something it isn’t.”
Furthermore, Renay said that Ne-Yo even fathered a child with another woman, who she called “his paramour” in the filing. Still, their history together is longer and more complicated than one might expect as an on-and-off-again couple in the 2010s. They married in February 2016, divorced two years later, and remarried in April of last year. As always, check back in with HNHH for more celebrity gossip, scandalous allegations, and the latest on this situation.
