Dame Dash Trolls JAY-Z Over His “Deep” Pockets Amid Roc-A-Fella Records Drama

Dame Dash went after JAY-Z during a rant on his Instagram page on Tuesday, after his Roc-A-Fella co-founder filed a notice that the rights to his 1996 album Reasonable Doubt will switch from the company to his possession in 2031. Dame has been attempting to sell his stake in Roc-A-Fella shares to cover a judgment regarding copyright infringement and defamation owed to movie producer Josh Weber.

“I don’t expect anyone, just some average person, to come buy it — or a third of it, my third. I don’t wanna get sued again,” he said. “I know, for some reason, nobody wants me to sell it, but I’m ready to just move on, do my thing. I had a lawsuit, I had a judgement, and I’m like, ‘Yo, that’s 800 grand. Go get it from over there. They not paying me neither!’ So, they went and did the work for me [to] paid that debt and I’ll be able to sell it. It all worked out for me. I’m sure there’s a little twist they put on things. I don’t know why. I do know why, but I don’t know why. I don’t know why about one thing, but I do know why about the other.”

From there, he set his sights on JAY-Z. “They had some bum-ass board meeting and all of a sudden he gets first right of refusal. I don’t really care. It don’t slow nothing down for me,” he said. “Now I don’t know how deep homie’s pockets is. I’m curious if he’s gonna match that. I put an offer on the table, lemme see if he’ll match it. But it was from other people.” The auction is scheduled for August 29.

LL Cool J Says Kendrick Lamar’s Beef Tactics Against Drake Were “The Funniest Sh*t In The World”

LL Cool J heaped praise on Kendrick Lamar for his tactics against Drake in their ongoing feud. Speaking about the beef during an interview with Ray Daniels Media, he labeled Lamar’s cover art for “Not Like Us” the “funniest sh*t in the world.”

“This sh*t is crazy,” he remarked. “This ain’t got nothing to do with nothing but its the funniest sh*t in the world. It’s bananas. That kinda thinking, you have to respect that.” When DJ Akademiks shared the take on Instagram, fans had mixed responses. “Putting false claims on a man name is not funny it’s corny. LL Cool J also discussed how rap beefs have evolved over the years. “This generation, they think much more multilayered,” he argued. “The thinking is far more layered. The thinking used to be kinda like– back in the days it was like, ‘Okay, you do the song.’ That was it. Then it transitioned to, ‘You do the song and you do the video.’ Now, it transitioned to, ‘You do the song, you do the video, you have a brand, you do a book, you have the movie, you have the music. You monetize it. You have a platform.’ The layering of the thought process is completely different.” From there, he explained that there’s a lesson to be learned for established artists from the youth. Birdman Clarifies His Feelings On Lil Wayne After Essence Festival Set Sparks Rumors Of Animosity

Birdman has shot down the speculation that he dissed Lil Wayne at Essence Festival in New Orleans last month during his “Birdman & Friends” set. Reflecting on the performance during an interview with Gregory “Geedy P” Earls on Monday, the Cash Money Records co-founder said he would never diss Wayne. At the end of his performance, Birdman remarked, “I swear to God on everything I love — and I love nothing more than Ms. Gladys — I will never let my city down and be a p*ssy-ass n***a for nobody.” Wayne didn’t join him for the show and instead performed separately, leading to rumors of a rift between the two.

“I seen n****s was talking about, ‘Wayne ain’t wanna do this and do that.’ Wayne wasn’t even gonna do Essence. I called my son and asked him to do it because I was doing Birdman & Friends. He did it ’cause I asked him,” he clarified. “We always knew that Wayne was gonna have his own set. Because me and Juvie and Geezy and Fresh, we rehearsed together every day and we had our own set together. But we all knew that Wayne was gonna have his own set. He was only a surprise guest. He had done Essence two years in a row and he turned them down personally, and I asked him would he do it for me, and he did it for me. Shout out to my son Weezy, man.”

That wasn’t what that was about. What I meant by that is I ain’t gonna let this game play me. The game done played a lot of n****s. I ain’t never gonna be a p*ssy-ass n***a to this industry and let them play me. I ain’t built like that and I ain’t gonna let my city down by being a p*ssy-ass n***a.” Check out the full interview below.

Future’s Seemingly Emotional “Wait For You” Performance Has Fans Theorizing He Misses Drake

Fans on social media think Future is missing Drake after a clip of him emotionally performing his collaboration with the Toronto rapper, “Wait For You,” has been going viral. It comes after he sided with Kendrick Lamar and Metro Boomin in the feud against Drake, earlier this year. Future initially platformed Lamar’s fiery verse on “Like That.”

When AllHipHop shared the clip on Instagram, fans expressed their disappointment that there aren’t any more collaborations on the horizon. “Every time I hear a Future/Drake song I get sad that we won’t get to see them make hits together again,” one user remarked in the comments. Another added: “When you realize you cut your nose off to spite your face… and maybe it wasn’t so smart.” Others theorized he may have been emotional due to his ex, Ciara, or that he may have just been high.

DJ Akademiks Wants Lupe Fiasco To Start A Battle With Kendrick Lamar

DJ Akademiks is calling on any rapper with the skillset to take down Kendrick Lamar to step up and challenge the iconic Compton rapper. He made the comments while reacting to Big Sean’s recent appearance on Charlamagne Tha God’s new podcast, Out of Context. Sean revealed during the interview that he almost had a beef with Lamar following the release of a leaked version of “Element.” On the track, Lamar had dissed Sean but quickly called him up to apologize.

“Yo, I’m at the point—even y’all say Drake ain’t win— I’m rooting for any n***a that could f*ck Kendrick up! I’m tired of this sh*t!” Akademiks yelled while streaming. “He got rappers sounding like h*es! N****s are apologizing, scrolling through their text messages unsending what is this n***a doing? Y’all got the same 24 hours in a day why can’t y’all squabble with this little midget, what the f**k?!?!” From there, he suggested Lupe Fiasco needs to take down Lamar.

Akademiks’ suggestion comes after Fiasco recently clarified that he doesn’t have any issues with Lamar during a conversation with Joe Budden on X (formerly Twitter) Spaces. “I do not have a problem,” he claimed. “No matter what was said in the past, what you think happened, what happened, what didn’t happen. I personally and professionally do not have a problem with my brother-in-arms Kendrick Lamar.” Fiasco previously sparked rumors about a hatred for Lamar by siding with Drake in their viral feud.

50 Cent Shares Interesting Perspective On Drake & Kendrick Lamar’s Feud

50 Cent has weighed in on the viral feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, telling The Hollywood Reporter that he doesn’t view the situation as a loss for the Toronto rapper. Instead, he discussed how it shows the level of success Drake has reached over the years.

“This is hip-hop. I think it’s competitive to a degree, obviously,” he began. “Even Drake, his position and the attitude and his choices, those are 50 Cent choices. ‘F–k it, everybody got to get it then.’ When it becomes Drake versus Kendrick, it’s because it’s the only thing you can put up against Drake’s success.”

From there, he elaborated that the entire situation reveals a broader perspective on the culture. “Look, our culture loves to see you go up because it’s confirmation that they can go up,” he added. “But when you stay up — ‘I want this s–t forever, man’ — they go, ‘Well, goddamn. When you going to come down? If you don’t come down, I ain’t going to have my chance to go up.’ And then it’s these clouds that come over you, and that cloud is doubt, a shadow of doubt that doesn’t come from material or your work ethic.”

He continued: “It’s doubt from the artist community, where they say, ‘I don’t know, his new s–t is cool, but it’s not his first s–t.’ They do that to you and Drake’s just experiencing what you experience as a backlash from success, from the consistency he’s delivered over and over. I don’t see a loss for Drake. The people who bought Drake material are going to buy Drake material when his next song comes out.” While 50 is still confident in Drake, fans mostly agreed that Lamar won the battle after dropping his hit record,  “Not Like Us,” back in May. In the time since, he’s released a music video for the song and hosted The Pop Out – Ken & Friends in Los Angeles. Lil Yachty Admits He Regrets Speaking On Drake & Kendrick Lamar’s Feud

Lil Yachty says he wishes he never addressed the viral feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Reflecting on having done so during an appearance on the Flagrant podcast with Andrew Schulz, Yachty explained that nothing good came from speaking on it. “I just wish I had never spoke on it,” he said. “I wish I hadn’t said anything about it.” While he didn’t elaborate on his feelings, he previously discussed the beef during an episode of his own podcast, A Safe Place.

Drake was deemed a loser in this battle before it started, because people don’t like him, and haven’t, and he’s won for a very long time,” he said in an episode from May. “And he’s sat at the top of the throne… honestly, respectfully, I think he still sits on top of the throne. I think that even if opinionated masses would say that Kendrick won, I don’t think that people are going to stop listening to Drake and Drake’s career is going to flush, you know?”

[…] I think Drake will still be in everyone’s rap Spotify at the end of the year at the top. He can still drop hits and it will still control the summer. Boosie Badazz Declares Kendrick Lamar The Winner Of Drake Beef

Boosie Badazz says that Kendrick Lamar is the definitive winner of the feud with Drake thus far, but isn’t counting the Toronto rapper out going forward. Speaking with VladTV, Boosie began by describing the music video for “Not Like Us” as “hard.” When Vlad asked whether any debate can be made that Drake has won thus far, Boosie remarked that there’s “no doubt” Lamar is ahead.

“There ain’t no doubt. They still running,” Boosie began. “When you run a race and one just stop, one still running. You still running. You stretching it to win the race. When you stop going, that’s with anything, what you gonna do? You gonna lose the race.” Despite thinking Kendrick is the clear winner thus far, Boosie doesn’t think Drake is fully out of the race. “Not even close,” he remarked.

Charlamagne Tha God Goes Off On Elliott Wilson Amid Ongoing Feud

Charlamagne Tha God has explained his recent criticism of Elliott Wilson, in which he complained about Complex ranking the media veteran at number five on the “Hip-Hop Media Power Ranking.” Reflecting on the comments during the latest episode of the Brilliant Idiots podcast, Charlamagne claimed that Wilson is avoiding him and complained about him insulting him while refusing to sit down for a one-on-one.

He also brought up Diddy and an article Wilson’s wife, Danyel Smith, penned about the disgraced Bad Boy mogul. In doing so, he argued that he’s the person Wilson should be focused on beefing with. “We gotta stop the performative stuff,” Charlamagne remarked. “Don’t say the things to me just because you’re trying to get traction on social media and play the role. I want you to be consistent. The same way it’s easy for you to get at Childish Gambino because you don’t think Childish is gonna say anything back to you, the same way it’s easy to get at a Charlamgne because you don’t think a Charlamagne is gonna say nothing back to you. I need you to keep that same energy for people that you really should have smoke with.”

DeMar DeRozan Reveals His Stance On Drake And How Kendrick Lamar’s “The Pop Out” Was Bigger Than Just Beef

DeMar DeRozan spoke at length about his relationship with both Drake and Kendrick Lamar during an interview with The Sacramento Bee published on Wednesday. The Compton native, who spent years in Toronto playing for the Raptors, returned to his hometown for Lamar’s The Pop Out – Ken & Friends, last month. The appearance quickly sparked rumors that he and Drake had a falling out. He’s since clarified this isn’t the case. Instead, he says the concert was far more important than just the beef.

“It was fun to be a part of (‘Not Like Us’),” he said. “For that moment, it was so much bigger than what people look at it as a beef between (Lamar) and Drake. It brought our whole city together in a different type of light where there wasn’t no issues, no violence. Everybody was coming together in a peaceful manner and that was the beauty out of those moments.”

As for his feelings towards Drake, he added: “Drake’s still my man, still my man, none of it changed. It’s so easy to get overlooked and look at it for what it looks like, but at the end of the day it’s music, entertainment. Two of the biggest rappers in the world went at it from a competitive standpoint and they battled it out. That’s what you want to see as a fan: Kobe (Bryant) playing (Michael) Jordan 1-on-1 and see who wins, see the trash talking, and whoever wins out of that, you’re still going to have the debate, so that’s all that is.”

DeRozan joined the Sacramento Kings after a sign-and-trade deal that also involved the San Antonio Spurs, earlier this month. He’ll be turning 35 years old in August. Be on the lookout for further updates on DeMar DeRozan as well as Drake and Kendrick Lamar on HotNewHipHop.
