Wendy Williams’ Disturbing Documentary Sparks Outrage Over Revealed Payment

wendy

Former daytime talk show host Wendy Williams shocked fans last month when she was featured in a disturbing documentary on Lifetime titled “Where is Wendy Williams,” revealing her tragic diagnosis of dementia. However, new revelations have surfaced about the documentary, sparking outrage over the payment Wendy received for her participation.

According to exclusive reports by Radar Online, Wendy Williams was promised a shockingly low sum for her appearance in the documentary. Court documents obtained by Radar Online disclosed that the 59-year-old was slated to receive less than half a million dollars for her role in the four-part series.

The payment plan outlined in an 18-page contract allegedly signed by Wendy in early 2023 detailed that she would be paid $100,000 per episode. This meager compensation is in stark contrast to the substantial earnings Williams is accustomed to in her illustrious career.

What’s more, Wendy Williams was also provided with a daily $1,000 stipend to cover the costs of her grooming for the documentary. This revelation has only added fuel to the fire, with critics and fans alike condemning the exploitative nature of the project.

The documentary itself has been heavily criticized for its portrayal of Wendy Williams in the confusing throes of dementia. Critics have labeled it as exploitative, raising concerns about the ethics of profiting from Williams’ personal struggles.

Wendy Williams’ diagnosis of primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia, conditions that have tragically ended the film career of action hero Bruce Willis, adds another layer of gravity to the situation.

As the controversy surrounding “Where is Wendy Williams?” continues to unfold, questions arise about the treatment of celebrities facing health challenges and the responsibility of media organizations to uphold ethical standards in their productions.

Happy 65th Birthday to Public Enemy’s Flavor Flav!

flavor flav e

In 1959, William Jonathan Drayton, better known to the world as Flavor Flav, was born in NYC. Flav is the former hypeman of the iconic Rock N’ Roll Hall Of Fame Hip-Hop group Public Enemy.

Growing up in Freeport, Long Island, a young Flavor developed his love for music, teaching himself to play the piano, drums, and guitar independently. In Long Island, a young adult, Flav met Chuck Ridenhour, who later became known as Chuck D, the frontman of Public Enemy. The two linked at Adelphi University on the Island, where the two attended college and learned about each other’s love for Hip Hop.

As one of the founding members of PE, Flav was there in 1984 when the song “Public Enemy #1” was recorded, the first known track by the group. In 1986, the crew signed with Rick Rubin on Def Jam. However, Rubin did not initially want to sign Flav because he didn’t understand his role in the group.

Ever since PE’s debut album Yo! Bum Rush The Show, Flav was the hype jester to the ultra-serious, politically charged group, including Chuck D, Terminator X, and a security force known as the S1Ws. Songs such as “Fight The Power,” “911 Is A Joke”, and “I Can’t Do Nothin’ For Ya Man” featured the comedic darts of Flav, which brought a balance to PE.

Drugs and domestic issues hindered Flav for a short while during his career. However, he bounced back into the public eye as a reality show pioneer, with shows like Surreal Life and The Flavor Of Love breaking ground in reality TV. Earlier this year, Chuck D announced that Flavor Flav was indefinitely fired from the group for his response to PE publicly endorsing Sen. Bernie Sanders in the 2020 Presidential race.

Big ups to Flav on his born day, and TheSource.com wishes the Flavor Man many more!

Guardians Accuse A+E Networks of Exploiting Wendy Williams in Documentary

Was ‘Where is Wendy Williams?’ Exploitative or Just Another Chapter in Williams Saga?

A+E Networks faces accusations of exploiting former talk show host Wendy Williams in its recent documentary, “Where Is Wendy Williams?” as guardians for Williams file unsealed court documents revealing their concerns about the portrayal of the media personality.

Two weeks ago, guardians for Wendy Williams filed a sealed emergency injunction seeking to halt the airing of the documentary on Lifetime. Now, newly unsealed court documents obtained by Page Six shed light on the guardians’ allegations against A+E Networks.

In the documents, Wendy Williams’ appointed guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, accuses A+E Networks of “shamelessly exploiting” Williams in the documentary. Morrissey claims that the network filmed Williams “in an obviously disabled state,” which “cruelly implies” that her “disoriented demeanor is due to substance abuse and intoxication.”

Williams, who was diagnosed with frontotemporal lobe dementia and aphasia in May 2023, was allegedly told that the documentary would portray her “in a positive manner like a phoenix rising from the ashes.” However, Morrissey asserts that the documentary’s trailer, released on February 2, exploited Williams’ condition for entertainment value and the prurient interest of television viewers.

The lawsuit, originally filed in the New York County Supreme Court on February 20, sought a temporary restraining order against the release of the documentary. Morrissey condemns the “blatant exploitation of a vulnerable woman with a serious medical condition,” describing it as “disgusting” and calling for it to be stopped.

The accusations against A+E Networks highlight the ethical considerations surrounding the portrayal of individuals with disabilities and serious medical conditions in the media. As the legal battle continues, the case raises questions about the responsibility of networks and production companies to treat vulnerable subjects with dignity and respect.

The outcome of this lawsuit will have implications not only for Wendy Williams and A+E Networks but also for the broader conversation about media representation and the treatment of individuals with disabilities in the entertainment industry.

Vybz Kartel’s Conviction Quashed Amid Jury Bribery Revelations

Screen Shot 2024 03 15 at 8.07.58 AM

Jamaican dancehall artist Vybz Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, has been at the center of a legal saga spanning over a decade. Now, a significant development has emerged in his case, potentially paving the way for a new trial, as concerns over jury tampering cast doubt on the safety of his previous conviction.

Ten years ago, Kartel was convicted on murder charges related to the death of Clive “Lizard” Williams, an associate whose body has never been found. The trial, lasting a staggering 65 days, resulted in Kartel and three others being found guilty in 2014. Kartel was handed a life sentence with a minimum of 35 years, later reduced on appeal to 32 and a half years.

However, recent revelations have thrown Kartel’s conviction into question. According to a report by The Guardian, the London court has quashed Kartel’s conviction after ruling that attempts to bribe the trial jury compromised the fairness of the trial. The court found that allowing a juror who allegedly offered bribes to continue on the jury was “fatal to the safety of the convictions.”

The decision to overturn Kartel’s conviction marks a significant turn of events in a case that has captivated Jamaica and the international music community. Vybz Kartel, known for his influential contributions to dancehall music and collaborations with artists like Jay-Z and Rihanna, has maintained his innocence throughout the legal proceedings.

With the conviction quashed, the case now returns to the court of appeal in Jamaica, where it will be decided whether Kartel and his co-defendants should stand trial again. The outcome of this decision will have far-reaching implications for Kartel, his associates, and the broader legal landscape in Jamaica.

As Vybz Kartel’s legal battle continues, the case serves as a reminder of the complexities and challenges of the criminal justice system. For now, Vybz Kartel and his supporters await the next chapter in this ongoing legal saga, hoping for a resolution that brings clarity and closure to all parties involved.
