Black Girl Magic: Fantasia Officially Enrolled In College

Singer Fantasia Barrino infamously dropped out of high school in the 9th grade before winning American Idol. Now after getting her G.E.D., one of the most legendary voices of our generation has enrolled at Central State University.

Fantasia obtained her GED in 2010 and walked across the stage with a North Carolina high school class. Last year she joined Divine 9 as an honorary member of Sigma Gamma Rho.

The chocolate beauty announced on live stream that she has enrolled in college and now it’s official. She wrote on her Instagram:
PSA: I AM OFFICIALLY ENROLLED AS A STUDENT @centralstate87!!! I want to thank everyone who was apart of making this happen for me and working with my busy schedule. Reality Series About Lil Wayne’s Ex-Wife And Daughter To Release This Fall

WE TV just announced a new series titled Toya & Reginae, which will revolve around the lives of hip-hop icon Lil Wayne’s ex-wife Toya Johnson-Rushing and daughter Reginae Carter. The unscripted series will follow the mother-daughter duo’s lives and challenges. The show is a spinoff of the acclaimed Growing Up Hip Hop which featured the duo.

The newly married Toya and her daughter has been the talk of the town since Reginae’s relationships have been public. The press release states, “As happy as they seem on social media, their lives are unpredictable and full of chaos.” The series will premiere this fall and be available on WE TV and ALLBLK. Johnson-Rushing spoke to Variety and said, “I’m so excited to let viewers back into our lives to see what my family has been up to since you’ve seen us last.”

Napoleon of Tha Outlawz has commented on Snoop Dogg saying he didn’t like the late Tupac Shakur’s landmark diss record “Hit ‘Em Up”, which was aimed at his friend-turned-nemesis Notorious B.I.G.

Napoleon said Snoop never expressed that sentiment before now, adding, “For Snoop to say he never liked ‘Hit Em Up,’ he never expressed that. You got videos of him on stage with ‘Pac, Pac rapping ‘Hit Em Up’ and he’s rapping right along with him.”

He went on to say that Snoop was even singing the lyrics with him while at the House of Blue performance and bobbing his head in the studio.He says it’s strange that Snoop would say all of these things that he’s never say if’Pac was alive.

D.C. Rapper MoneyMarr Arrested for Trafficking 5K Fentanyl Pills From L.A. To MD

Severl reports have confirmed that a D.C. based rapper has been taken into custody for allegedly being involved with a fentanyl pill trafficking ring, which shipped 5,000 pills from Los Angeles to Maryland.

The DEA began investigating Marvin Bussie aka MoneyMarr last year when they suspected the trap rapper of bi-coastal drug trafficking. Bussie and his co-defendant, Quencella Turner,, have been charged with conspiracy to import a dangerous controlled substance and other related offenses.

Bussie is being held in the Charles County Detention Center in La Plata, Maryland after going on he run when a warrant was issued.

Bussie is currently being held in custody with no bond.

Nick Cannon Explains Why His 12 Kids Don’t Need To Spend Time Together

Nick Cannon has been making his rounds discussing his parenting and trailer load of kids. The father of 12 recently shared that it doesn’t benefit anyone but him to have all his children under one roof. Despite being siblings, the actor who shares his kids with six women says seeing them individually works a lot better. 

People Magazine reports:

The actor tells PEOPLE why it “works a lot better” for him to spend individual time with each of his kids rather than get the whole group together.

The 42-year-old, whose new morning show The Daily Cannon debuts on Amp later this month, tells PEOPLE that it “works a lot better” for him to spend individual time with his 12 kids rather than get the whole group together.

Noting that all of his kids come together “when necessary,” he feels the “only person that would benefit from having everyone in the same space would probably be me.”

“I feel like qualitative experiences are when I can give everyone their own individual experience,” he says. “I actually love stepping into their world. Going to their sports games or giving them their personal time for the holidays. So I have no problem with bouncing around.”

Looking to the future, Cannon says he thinks things may change.

“I think as everyone probably gets older, and even as I slow down a little bit more, I’m sure everyone will start coming to me in one place,” he shares.

Besides crushing the rap game, Redman was able to show off his thespian abilities and an underrated comedian on the big screen as well. His cameos on successful movies such as How High, Scary Movie 3 and Backstage have opened the eyes of new fans from different demographics worldwide, proving that Hip Hop can’t always be serious and that some of the best in the game can be one of the funniest individuals in entertainment. First performances from Cam’ron are becoming a thing. Over the weekend, Kill Cam hit the Apollo Theater stage and performed “Touch It Or Not” with Lil Wayne.

Weezy was in NYC for his tour, when he was joined by the Dipset legend to perform their street classic.

Earlier this year, also at the Appollo, Cam and Ma$e had a one-night-only show featuring Jadakiss at Harlem’s Apollo Theater and performed their “Horse And Carriage” hit for the first time n their careers.

“Imma keep it a hundred: I ain’t do this song in so long. So Imma just act like y’all know it and do a little bit of this,” said Cam’Ron. 

Mase went on to say, “Yo, we never got to perform this song. We never got to perform this.”

Erykah Badu Working On Collab Album With Madlib And Embarking On U.S. Tour With Yasiin Bey

Erykah Badu and Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def) have announced that they’re embarking on a 25-city tour of the United States. Producer Madlib recently revealed that he has an upcoming project in the works with the neo-soul queen—Erykah Badu. The talented and highly sought after composer appeared on Sway in the Morning with Talib Kweli to promote their new album Liberation 2. During the conversation, Madlib said he recently began work on a full-length effort with Ms. Badu.

He added: “[Erykah and I] just started on an album … We have a lot of unreleased stuff.” teased an upcoming project with Badu

Badu’s tour—the Unfollow Me tour begins on June 11 at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, TX. It will conclude on July 23 at the American Airlines Center in San Antonio, TX.

Trick Daddy Gets Gold Grills Removed, Hadn’t Been to Dentist in 15 Years

Miami Hip Hop pioneer Trick Daddy has made. dramatic change in his appearance, switching out his gold grills which he sported for three decades, in exchange for new porcelain veneers.

Miami-based dentist 5 Star Smiles performed the procedure, telling TMZ that TD had significant decay under his gold teeth from not going to a dentist in over 15 years. It was reported that the Slip-N-Slide founder had to undergo bone graft surgery, leaving him with temporary fillings in his upper teeth until his gums heal.

Owner Danielle Noguera says that Trick will continue the process and get the bottom teeth done next week.

The process will take two months in total and has cost him $60K to date. The entire process will be documented on upcoming episodes of  Love & Hip Hop: Miami later this year.

42 Dugg From Behind Bars: ‘Ain’t No Reward For Keeping It Real’

As reported last month, Detroit slangspitter 42 Dugg was facing an additional. five years for a prison evasion charge and now delivers an important message via social media to all involved in the street life.

The 28-year-old rapper/trapper took to his IG page, saying,, “Ain’t no reward for keeping it real, so don’t do it expecting something in return, do it [because] you wouldn’t have it no other way!!!”

Dugg added, “You might not get mentioned in a song, you might not get bonded out, a muhf**ka might even say free you!!!!” But real gone forever recognize real.”

Dugg’s sentencing date is slated for May 10.
