Quavo X The Legends Brand Present Fifth Annual Huncho Day

Hitting the field to put numbers on the board for a few good causes, GRAMMY® Award-nominated multiplatinum hip-hop superstar Quavo and the Legends brand join forces again for the fifth annual Huncho Day celebrity charity football game on Saturday April 29, 2023 at Berkmar High School in Lilburn, GA.

In addition, Quavo has just launched this 501(c)3 in memory of his nephew and longtime musical brother the late Takeoff. All contributions and proceeds of Huncho Day will benefit the Rocket Foundation, a newly established charitable organization centered on violence prevention. The Rocket Foundation celebrates the life and legacy of Kirsnick Khari Ball (“Takeoff”) by leading, convening, and investing in violence prevention initiatives in Atlanta and across the country.  

To celebrate the reveal of The Rocket Foundation, Quavo released a limited-edition Forever Takeoff Hoodie available HERE.

This year, Team Huncho helmed by Captain Quavo competes against Team Ramsey led by Captain Jalen Ramsey for the Huncho Day trophy!

Wendy Williams Brother Calls Out Her Manager: ‘I Just Know He’s Not A Man, He’s Soft’

Former daytime talk show host Wendy Williams’ brother Tommy went live on YouTube and stated his dissatisfaction towards some of the people around his sister during Easter.

After expressing his disappointment in Wendy bringing camera’s home for the holidays, then leaving shortly after her brother is fed up with people taking advantage. Tommy is naming Wendy’s manager Will Selby as the unsavory character he doesn’t trust.

The Sun reports:

In an on-camera interview, Tommy Williams exclusively revealed to The U.S. Sun what he thinks about Wendy’s mental state, and how he feels about his famous sister’s associates after some escorted the star on a trip to Florida earlier this month.

“She’s so caught up with who she was and not who she’s become, and apparently she’d like to get back to who she was because she can’t stop talking about that person,” her 54-year-old brother said.

“So let’s all help you get back to that person, but we haven’t been able to help because she’s up in New York around people and we, the family, can’t get our hooks in her properly to reel her into the shore.

“So she’s staying out there with the sharks,” Wendy’s frustrated brother added.

Tommy then zeroed in on Wendy’s manager Will Selby, who was along with the star in Flordia to film her reality show.

“I don’t trust Will. I finally could say what I saw, I don’t trust.

“He wasn’t a man of very many words,” Wendy’s brother said, adding that the manager never introduced himself to either him or their elderly father, Thomas Williams Sr, while filming.

“And if you’re coming around our father and you’re putting this big piece together, and Wendy’s been away all this time and your name is synonymous with Wendy then speak the f*** up.

“Speak up, say something! Who are you!?”

“I’m just trying to keep my family safe because as my father climbs in age, I’m in the position to do what needs to be done for my family.

“So Will, you don’t have to talk to my father. And it was obvious you didn’t have the balls to talk to me and say anything to me.”

Tommy, who also claimed that Wendy is not well enough to be filming a reality show, also said of Will: “He seemed a little bit timid and out of sorts, and I guess if you’re doing the wrong thing, you’re not going to feel right.”

“I just know that he’s not a man. He’s soft. And he plays the backdrop. And that he’s using Wendy,” the star’s protective brother concluded.

Lloyd Banks Drops ‘The Course of The Inevitable 3: Pieces Of My Pain’

New York rap legend, Lloyd Banks, shares his highly anticipated studio album The Course of the Inevitable 3: Pieces of My Pain today. With features from Method Man, Vado, 38 Spesh, Tony Yayo, Dave East, and Cormega, and production from Cartune Beats, George Getson, and more, Banks yet again delivers an instant hip hop classic across 16 records. The album is accompanied by a music video for “Invisible” – watch here.

On COTI3, Banks shows his growth as a person and artist. Records like “Cliffhanger” and “Opened Gates” speak on success, self awareness, and change. YSL Attorney Arrested For Bringing Prescription Drugs to Court, Assaulting Officer

A defense attorney for one of the YSL members on trial in the crew’s RICO case in Atlanta has been arrested for bringing prescription pills past the court’s checkpoint and now faces four criminal charges himself.

Miles Farley’s lawyer Anastassios Manettas was charged with possession, obstruction, disruption of court proceedings and simple battery on a law enforcement officer.

Following Manettas’ arrest, George Chidi, an Atlanta-based journalist who has been detailing the YSL RICO case on record since last year, took to Twitter to weigh in on the new development involving Manettas.

In a special episode of The Message celebrating Arab American Heritage Month, rapper French Montana joins Ebro in-studio on Apple Music 1 to discuss the lessons he learned immigrating to the US from Morocco as a teen, how he honors Ramadan, philanthropy, his upcoming documentary executive produced by Drake, and more. 

Speaking on coming from the African nation of Morocco as a young teen, the Bad Boy feature artists said, “Everybody’s dream is to come to the United States. I remember when my aunt was getting me dressed to go to the airport, she was like, “You’re getting dressed like you going to America.” I was like, “I am.” She was like, “You are,” and it was a moment. It’s like hitting the lottery. But when you watch it as a kid, they only show you the skyline and they show you the big buildings and the penthouses and this and that. You thinking you going to heaven, you know what I’m saying? You get here. They sent me to Mott Haven projects into East Tremont Lafontaine by Crotona Park with all the Africans and you just get there and the people downstairs yelling and Spanish people, she hit them with a chair and it was like, “Yo, where am I at? I should’ve stayed in Morocco for this.”

[WATCH] Hulu Drops Trailer For Remake Of ‘White Men Can’t Jump’ Starring Jack Harlow

Last summer, Kentucky rap wunderkind Jack Harlow pulled up to the set of the White Men Can’t Jump reboot, which will star the “First Class” rapper and Migos front man Quavo. The wait is finally over and Hulu has finally released the first trailer of the basketball hustle story that originally starred Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson in 1992.

This hilarious comedy boasts of two streets ballers Billy Hoyle (Woody Harrelson) and Sidney Deane (Wesley Snipes), who vicariously met when Deane was hustled on the court by Hoyle simply because he was a white boy who could handle the rock.

The star-studded cast that includes Vince Staples, Teyana Taylor, Laura Harrier, and the late Lance Reddick, with Kenya Barris as a co-writer on the film and DJ Drama scoring the flick’s soundtrack.

Today In Hip Hop History: The Beastie Boys Released Their ‘Check Your Head’ LP 31 Years Ago

31 years ago today, Beastie Boys released their third studio album entitled Check Your Head released on Capitol Records.

This was a return to their punk rock roots after the few releases they had prior to this LP. They were back to playing their own instruments on this particular project, which gave it that organic feel they wanted. This was the album that made sure they would stick around and help them become a household name.

It was also the album that returned them Billboard’s Top 10 album chart, and most importantly it introduced them to a demographic that critics claimed was not listening to their sound anymore. “Check Your Head” only further cemented the Beastie Boys name in Hip Hop history!

Swizz Beatz Releases ‘Hip Hop 50: Vol. 2’ Via Mass Appeal

Today, Grammy Award-winning producer, rapper, and entrepreneur, Swizz Beatz, releases his triumphant EP – Hip Hop 50: Vol. 2 – via Mass Appeal. The 5-track project marks the second EP in Mass Appeal’s Hip Hop 50: The Soundtrack. Coming off the first installment of the EP series with DJ Premier’s Hip Hop 50 Vol. 1, Hip Hop 50: Vol. 2 is entirely produced by Swizz Beatz. The EP is an ode to New York rap and includes star-studded features from Nas, Lil Wayne, Lil Durk, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Jadakiss, Jay Electronica, Benny The Butcher, Fivio Foreign, Scar Lip and Bandmanrill. Hip Hop 50: Vol. 2 is the culmination of Swizz Beatz’s career spanning over two decades and the sound that inspired it. The Verzuz creator first rose to prominence as a Ruff Ryder producing songs for DMX and Eve. The success of “Ruff Ryder’s Anthem” launched Beatz’s career as a highly sought-after and regarded artist. He’s since gone on to create some of the most prolific songs in Hip Hop, working with JAY-Z, Noreaga, Busta Rhymes, Cassidy, Nas, Rakim, Lil Wayne, and many more. Hip Hop 50: Vol. 2 will be followed by eight more EPs from iconic figures who’ve had a hand in expanding the culture from the streets of the Bronx to the global community. A portion of all Hip Hop 50 proceeds will be donated to the various charitable organizations, including, the Universal Hip Hop Museum set to open its doors in 2024. Mass Appeal recently announced Hip Hop 50 partnerships with CÎROC Ultra-Premium Vodka – the official Vodka of #HipHop50, as well as Google Pixel and Sony Music Entertainment. In January, Mass Appeal partnered with Fotografiska to launch Hip Hop Conscious, Unconscious exhibition – currently on view in New York City till May 21st before traveling to other locations. Killer Mike Announces New Solo LP ‘Michael’, Drops “Don’t Let The Devil” Single

Killer Mike is celebrating his birthday by formally launching the countdown for his new solo album MICHAEL via the release of “Don’t Let The Devil (feat EL-P & thankugoodsir).” MICHAEL marks the celebrated MCs first solo project since 2012’s critically lauded R.A.P. Music and serves as an introduction to the totality of Michael Render, a lifelong rap fiend whose consciousness is seeped in the sounds of community that raised him – multiple eras of southern rap flows, Sunday church service, and barbershop discourse. Speaking on his most autobiographical and independent album to date, Mike states “RTJ is the X-Men, this is my Logan.” For the new single Mike linked with his Run The Jewels partner in rhyme EL-P, trading verses over a lilting soul loop produced by No I.D., EL-P, & Little Shalimar. “My favorite group (US) with my favorite producers! It’s our 10 year anniversary and MICHAEL is an origin story so I wanted to start w/ El.”

“DON’T LET THE DEVIL” arrives in the wake of RTJ announcing a 10 year anniversary run this Fall, the release of their collaborative sneakers with Nike this week, and Mike’s recent appearance at SXSW, where he performed an intimate career-spanning show at Stubb’s flanked by a choir, and previewed several new songs that are expected to appear on the Atlanta MC’s new album (read more here). He further brought the album to life at a private listening event in NYC this past Monday, where a couple hundred attendees crowded into St. Ann’s & the Holy Trinity Church in Brooklyn to hear Mike present the album in his own words.
