[WATCH] LaTocha Scott Denies Stealing Sister’s Money But Offers to Pay It Back

For weeks Xscape singer LaTocha Scott has been swamped on social media by allegations that she stole money from her sister, Tamika Scott. Tamika tearfully revealed during an episode of their reality TV show ‘SWV & Xscape : Queens of R&B’
In a new interview LaTocha claims Tamika never mentioned any missing money before she said it on the show and that she stopped speaking to LaTocha after the cameras stopped rolling.
Latocha says she’s called, reached out and sent text messages and never heard about these allegations from 10 years ago.

LaTocha spoke with Cocktails with Queens and shared that the alleged incident happened over ten years ago and she knew nothing about it. She also insisted that she absolutely did not take Tamika’s money, but would gladly give $30k to have her sister back.

Today In Hip Hop History: DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince’s Second Album ‘He’s The DJ, I’m The Rapper’ Turns 35 Years Old!

On this day in Hip Hop history, the rapper turned actor Will Smith along with DJ Jazzy Jeff released their second LP, He’s the DJ, I’m the Rapper. This was the first double album in Hip Hop in its original vinyl state and is certified platinum by the RIAA.

It can be said that without this album, Will Smith would not be where he is today. The success this album provided for Smith gave him the exposure to take his talents from music to the screen. This was also a breakthrough album for the career of DJ Jazzy Jeff. Critics and consumers alike cited Jeff as the more musically inclined of the duo, although Smith was the obvious crowd favorite and frontman. Jeff’s ability on the turntables and the boards allowed him to be the unsung hero of the album and gain a lot of respect in the Hip Hop community.

The album received positive reviews from critics of countless publications. The Source even selected this album as one of the 100 Best Rap Albums list in 1998. The album peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200 chart and #5 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop chart. Overseas it peaked at #68 on the UK Album chart. The album’s most popular single, “Parents Just Don’t Understand” won the first-ever Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance in 1989.

42 Dugg Speaks From Jail Following Prison Evasion Guilty Plea

After failing to complete a six month sentence for illegally carrying a firearm, 42 Dugg faces five more years behind bars and now speaks from jail after pleading guilty to prison evasion.

In one of his more recent Instagram stories, Dugg, whose real name is Dion Hayes, said, “A lot of these n****s got ‘get out of jail free’ cards.” He continued saying, “I guess ‘cause I’m turnt I gotta go through the worst!!!!” The rapper concluded by saying “Death before dishonor.”

Back in 2021, Dugg’s lawyers managed to get him a deal in which the rapper would avoid jail time for firing a gun in an Atlanta gun range in 2020, but the judge in the case revoked the plea eal and sentenced him to six months behind bars. When Dugg refused to turn himself in to do his time, he was charged with evasion and is scheduled for sentencing on May 10.

L&HHNY’s Brittney Taylor Arrested For Domestic Assault

According to a recent report from TMZ, Love And Hip Hop: New York regular Brittney Taylor has been arrested for domestic assault for allegedly hitting the father of her child with a baseball bat.

According to police, Taylor was involved in a physical altercation with Afeez, the father of her two children. The reality star was arrested and charged after a warrant was issued for her arrest.

According to a source close to the couple, the squabble between the former couple started when Afeez flew into NYC to see his children, but kept away from Taylor because due to some issues from their past. When Afeez and his mother went to leave Taylor’s residence with the children, she said something to Afeez, which he ignored, sending her into a rage.

The criminal complaint obtained by TMZ, Afeez told police that Taylor punched him in the face in front of the children, but even as he left the residence, she grabbed a bat and hit him, leaving Afeez with a deep, bleeding gash.

Afeez went to the hospital with a cut above his eye which required stitches while Taylor was charged with two counts of assault, one count of endangering the welfare of a child, and one count of criminal possession of a weapon.

[WATCH] Eric Holder’s Lawyer Says That His Life Has Been “Greenlighted” By Prison Gangs

On February 22, 2023, Eric Holder, the man convicted of taking the life of rap superstar Nipsey Hussle, was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison, but a clip from his sentencing is now going viral, showing his lawyer pleading to the judge about Holder’s harsh reality to be faced in prison.

Holder was also given another ten years for assault with a firearm for shooting two people the same day that he gunned down Hussle. L.A. County Superior Court Judge H. Clay Jacke II said of Holder, “I am mindful of what was presented as to Mr. Holder’s mental health. I am also mindful of the devastation caused to the victims and their families. I believe this sentence balances the two.”

A clip from his sentencing has now surfaced, showing Holder’s lawyer pleading for the 33-year-old man L.A. native to be housed in protective custody in state prison, as his future in any correctional facility is bleak.

Holder’s lawyer can be heard in the video saying, “Once he gets to state prison, he’s a target. There’s a green light on him from all the gangs. All the people that love Nipsey Hussle. And so, his life in prison is going to be hell … for as long as it lasts.”

NFL Player Sebastian Joseph-Day Claims He Was Assaulted By TSA Agents

Sebastian Joseph-Day, a defensive tackle for the Los Angeles Chargers, accused three TSA agents of sexually assaulting him before a flight at the John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, Calif.

The footballer shared that the incident, which took place Friday morning, was a “dehumanizing” experience.

Joseph-Day took to Twitter to explain what transpired during the incident with the agents.

“Then they told me I was the problem after [three] TSA agents swarmed me,” he added.

“I’m all for people doing their job well. But it was extremely unnecessary and dehumanizing. I travel a lot, for personal and work reasons. I’ve never experienced anything like that.”

“And when I do try to file a complaint they are making me jump through hoops to do so.”

The airport’s Twitter account swiftly responded to Joseph-Day’s accusations:

Joseph-Day also added in his Twitter thread that the TSA agents threatened to call the authorities if he did not complete the search, one that made him uncomfortable.

“It’s one thing if they apologized after my concerns, but the supervisor threatened to call the sheriff on me if I didn’t finish the search after I expressed I was just violated & told me to watch my mouth. I don’t think it’s just a TSA issue.

“I’m not sharing this on Twitter for sympathy. I’m sharing this so this group of gentle[men] and staff aren’t allowed to do this ever again to another human being.”

TSA released a statement stating that it is aware of the allegations and is investigating them.

“TSA is aware of allegations made by a traveler who was screened by TSA officers at John Wayne Airport Friday morning. We are looking into the matter to determine if our procedures were followed and whether any corrective action needs to be taken,” a TSA statement said.

“TSA remains committed to treating every traveler with dignity and respect while carrying out our security screening responsibilities.”

The 28-year-old won a 2022 Super Bowl ring with the Los Angeles Rams.

Suge Knight Aims For Biopic TV Series “Like BMF” About His Life Story

According to a report from TMZ, former Death Row Records CEO Marion “Suge” Knight and his brother Brian Brown are joining forces for. television project that is slated to begin shooting this summer.

It is being reported that the series will be similar to 50 Cent’s BMF series, with plot points about Suge’s early life before he began to terrorize the Hip Hop industry.

Knight is currently serving a 28-year sentence for taking Terry Carter’s life in 2015, but has been taking his time in handpicking the actors, especially when it comes to the role of Tupac Shakur, according to a source close to Suge. The source claims that Suge is looking for acting skills over resemblance for whoever plays Shakur, but contends that they must have his style and mannerisms.

Knight has yet to speak on the production detailing his life, but you can bet that when his team gets the green light, he will be “all up in the videos” this time around!

[WATCH] Surveillance Footage Shows Nashville Shooter Roaming Hallways, Shooting Through Doors

The Nashville Police Department has released the surveillance footag from the fateful moments of The Covenant School tragedy yesterday(March 27), where seven people were shot dead including the 28-year-old transgender shooter.

In the security video, school shooter Audrey Hale is seen driving a Honda Fit into the school parking lot before getting out of the car with two assault rifles and a 9mm handgun. Hale is then seen shooting through the front door of the school before roaming the hallways, searching in different rooms for potential victims.

Hale fatally shot three children and three adults before being mortally wounded by police returning fire when she shot at officers from a second story window in the school.

Today in Hip-Hop History: Ol’ Dirty Bastard Released ‘Return Of The 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version’ 28 Years Ago

On this day in Hip-Hop history, Wu-Tang Clan’s Ol’ Dirty Bastard released his debut solo LP, Return of the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version. Released by Elektra Records, Return of the 36 Chambers was only the second solo LP by any Wu-Tang member. Largely produced by fellow Wu-Tang emcee RZA, the album had a mostly positive commercial reception.

Peaking at number seven on the Billboard 200 and number two on the Top R&B/Hip Hop chart, Return of the 36 Chambers sold 81,000 albums in its first week and was certified gold later that year. The album was also nominated for “Best Rap Album” at the 1996 Grammy Awards.

Coming off such a successful group debut, there were little critics could say to discount the record. The Source, Rolling Stone and Allmusic have all given the project four out of five stars. In 1998, The Source selected the album to be a part of its 100 Best Rap Albums list.

Following Return of the 36 chambers: The Dirty Version, ODB went on to release one more solo album, Nigga Please, before his untimely demise in 2004. Ol’ Dirty will forever be remembered as one of the most talented and unique emcees to ever grace the mic.

Kyla Imani’s 2023 Start Highlights the Rapid Growth of a Future Star

Kyla Imani’s blossoming career continues to flourish behind a robust first quarter of 2023, which featured performing on the hottest stages at SXSW and gearing up for a cross-country run on The Piper Tour.

Following 2022, where Kyla Imani had 2.1 million listeners across 180 countries, the budding superstar opened this year with a remix of SZA’s “Kill Bill” to engage her followers before taking off to the 2023 Grammys.

During her 2023 SXSW visit, Kyla Imani was one of the featured performers of the Futuristic Flow Showcase, where she joined headliner Lola Brooke, Trap Beckham, and more of the class of music stars that will define the next generation.

“It was nice to get back out there!” Kyla Imani said of the SXSW stop. “I really hibernated in the studio last year and focused on making new music and songwriting, so it’s been a little minute since I’ve been on stage. I haven’t done shows since the summer so I had a great time back up there. I love performing!”

If you weren’t fortunate to catch Kyla during her visit to SXSW, you could see her on The Piper Tour, supporting Piper Rockelle on the two remaining dates of June 4 in Los Angeles or June 24 in Detroit.

But that won’t be the last of the work for Kyla Imani in 2023. She tells The Source that she plans to release new music and more.

“For the rest of 2023 I’m looking forward to new music, more shows, and getting some placements!” Imani added. “I’m about to release a birthday anthem called ’21 Forever’ so that’s gonna be a whole vibe. I’ve been writing so much and my pen is crazy now so who knows!

“Either way, I’ll definitely be writing your next favorite song, whether it’s for me or another dope artist.”
