Snoh Aalegra Delivers New Single “Sweet Tea”

Snoh Aalegra Delivers New Single "Sweet Tea" | The Source

Snoh Aalegra has released her second single in two weeks, dropping off “Sweet Tea” for fans. Speaking with Eddie Francis at Apple Music 1, Aalegra reveals the song was a collaboration with No I.D. and Greg Phillinganes.

“I wrote it prior to kind of finishing up the production and once it was completed, it just really felt really spiritual in a way,” Snoh says. It also has one of my favorite bridges I’ve ever written, and that bridge really takes me to another place in the song. I work a lot with No I.D. At the time, he was working a lot with Greg Phillinganes and he kept telling me that we should all work and we finally made it happen and I feel like they really brought the song to life. They took it to somewhere else from when I had written it and it was just really special to finish it up with them. And it was just a very special experience being in the studio with both of them… and yeah, he’s such an incredible musician and No I.D. really knew where I wanted to take this song.

“So I thought it was so perfect that we made it with Greg. I feel so much when I hear certain chords and that’s just really what this is, all these magical chords that Greg knows how to play.…so we all did it together and it always depends on how a song is made. This one in particular, I had written it prior and then we try to finish it with the music and everything. Sometimes when I work with No I.D. it’s like I’m writing to his music, to his beats, so it all comes together differently. But this one was like that, where we were just all in the room and figured it out together and just felt it all together. So it’s really special.”

Officer Present at Scene of Tupac’s 96 Shooting Says Keefe D Has Sold Items from the Crime

Keefe D continues to be brought up as results continue to pour out from the search of a Las Vegas home in connection to the murder of Tupac. Officer Chris Carroll, one of the first responders to the scene where Pac was shot in 1996, sat with The Art of Dialogue and delivered more information about Keefe’s connection.

After reiterating that Keefe D has long said he had a role in the murder, Carroll revealed he may also have been selling items connected to the crime.

“I’ve heard rumors that he even had sold some items that he told people were there that night,” Carroll said. “Whether that’s BS or not, I don’t know, but to think that not only is he admitting to being part of a murder but now he’s going to profit from the whole deal?”

Last month, Las Vegas Metro Police issued a search warrant on the home of Paula Clemons, the wife of reputed Southside Crip Keefe D, as a part of the investigation into the 1996 homicide of pop culture icon Tupac Shakur and now it is being revealed that bullets found at the residence could possibly be connected to Tupac’s murder.

LVMPD stated in a warrant that several .40 caliber bullets were retrieved from the home of the 60-year-old Duane Keith Davis, aka Keefe D, and that forensics experts will test the bullets to see if they are linked to the shooting death of Tupac Shakur. A Vegas police source says that the bullets will be tested with a “definite consideration on whether they have any link to the bullets found in Tupac’s body.”

Homicide detectives in Las Vegas have kept the forensic evidence from the Shakur murder, including bullets and clothing, in secure storage for 26 years, with full laboratory analysis of shells, bullets, and gunpowder from the murder scene.

According to the police source, “Microfibers or residues from the weapon or the bullet could prove to be a link. There is no information yet on the history of the bullets, how old they are or their significance. And it will take some time to assess how the bullets play a role in this case. The homicide detectives leading the case are keeping everything as secretive as possible with only the district attorney’s office learning about developments. No pun intended, it is a long shot that the bullets will be the ones from 1996.”

The source added, “This search warrant was pushed because investigators feel they can assemble enough information that could lead to an arrest or indictment. Tupac’s murder remains open, so the onus remains on the police to try to attempt to close the case.”

The .40 Glock that was used in the Tupac murder was never recovered. However, Keefe D has openly admitted on several occasions that he handed the gun to his nephew Orlando Anderson that he used to shoot Tupac on September 7, 1996.

No charges have been filed, but the LVMPD is hopeful that the evidence they present to a grand jury and search warrants that will be served in the next few weeks will lead them to an arrest or an indictment.

TheSource.com will update this story as more details develop in the ongoing case of the Tupac Shakur murder.

Tory Lanez Legal Team Pushing for Probation, Says Shooting Was Result of Alcoholism

Tory Lanez Music Streams Decline 40% After Being Called Out By Megan Thee Stallion

Tory Lanez‘s legal team continues to push for reduced sentencing. Instead of time in jail, Lanez is seeking probation and a drug treatment program.

Providing updates on the court case is Law&Crime reporter Meghann Cuniff who states Lanez’s attorneys, Jose Baez and Ed Welbourn, filed a 41-page memo detailing reasons for the shooting. The two-state Lanez was battling alcoholism and included a report from a psychologist in jail citing a traumatic childhood in aiding the condition. Of that childhood was his mother passing at age 11 and living in a “crack infested” neighborhood.

The report also states after Lanez became successful, he leaned on alcohol and weed to deal with his past. The team also pointed toward Lanez’s community service as a reason.

Sentencing for Lanez comes this Monday, Aug. 7, at 10:30 a.m.

DJ Akademiks still isn’t convinced that Tory Lanez shot Megan Thee Stallion. Sitting with Vlad TV, Ak revealed that he understands the verdict but still has questions.

“I thought he didn’t do it,” Akademiks said. “I’m a little doubtful, but the verdict is the verdict. I think the people who were reporting at court at that time were biased based on what they already though.”

As pieces of Tory Lanez’s court documents continue to emerge, a memorandum notes Lanez and DaBaby attempted to “rush the stage” during Megan Thee Stallion’s Rolling Loud performance in 2021.

That was the same year, DaBaby revealed Tory Lanez was inside a costume on stage with DaBaby. Megan performed before DaBaby, and once the “Suge” rapper hit the stage, he brought out Tory Lanez. Following that moment, he would go on to perform one of his biggest hits with Thee Stallion, “Cash Shit.”

The legal docs state, “It was also brought to the victim’s attention that the defendant and [DaBaby] attempted to rush the stage during her performance.” Thee Stallion didn’t consent to Lanez being present.

Lizzo Blasts ‘Sensationalized Stories’ From Former Employees in Statement Released on Twitter

Lizzo

Lizzo has released a statement after she was levied with accusations of sexual harassment and racial, religious, and weight discrimination. In a message posted to Twitter, Lizzo states the accusations and the days following have been “gut wrenchingly difficult and overwhelmingly disappointing.”

In the statement, Lizzo says her work ethic and morals have been questioned, in addition to her character and respectfulness. “Usually I chose not to respond to false allegations but these are as unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous to not be addressed,” Lizzo wrote.

She added, “These sensationalized stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted that they were told their behavior on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional.”

Lizzo gave a reason for her message, “I am not here to be looked at as a victim, but I also know that I am not the villain that people and the media have portrayed me to be these last few days. I am very open with my sexuality and expressing myself but I cannot accept or allow people to use that openness to make me out to be something I am not.”

The full statement is available below.

Lizzo is the subject of a new lawsuit from three of her tour dancers who state they worked in a hostile work environment. The dancers also claimed they were also subjected to sexual harassment, which included being pressured to touch naked dancers at a sex show in Europe.

In a lawsuit detailed by NBC News, dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez levy Lizzo and her company Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc with racial, religious, and weight discrimination allegations.

Inside the lawsuit, Lizzo is claimed to host after-parties for her shows. Dancers attended the shows as they often would provide more favor and job security. At one post-event sex show in Amsterdam, Lizzo pressured dancers to engage with the formers.

“Lizzo began inviting cast members to take turns touching the nude performers, catching dildos launched from the performers’ vaginas, and eating bananas protruding from the performers’ vaginas,” the accusations state. “Lizzo then turned her attention to Ms. Davis and began pressuring Ms. Davis to touch the breasts of one of the nude women performing at the club.”

Lizzo also is accused of pushing her religious beliefs on dancers while also teasing them about their virginity and sexual choices and also simulating oral sex on a banana in front of the dancers. Additionally, Lizzo questioned a dancer’s weight after a South by Southwest performance, citing they may not take their career as seriously as other dancers.

Speaking with Billboard, the dancers’ attorney, Ron Zambrano, commented the weight shaming went “against everything Lizzo stands for publicly, while privately she weight-shames her dancers.”

One of the dancers, Davis, privately recorded a meeting leading to threats from Lizzo and being “aggressively approached” with balled fists.
