Nicki Minaj Moves ‘Pink Friday 2’ Release Date to Her Birthday

Nicki Minaj Delivers Performance of "Last Time I Saw You" at VMAs

Nicki Minaj has updated the release date for Pink Friday 2, now setting it to be available to fans on her birthday. Minaj shared the details in an Instagram Live session, setting the release date for Dec. 8.

“This entire album will be the biggest gift I’ve ever given humanity thus far,” Minaj said. “I can stand by that. I will bet any amount of money that Pink Friday 2, the album, is going to make people fall in love immediately.”

Nicki Minaj fans have been waiting for quite some time for the release of her highly-anticipated project, Pink Friday 2. Most recently, Queen Barbie herself went Live to her 227 million followers on Instagram to talk about the new project and its coinciding tour. Not only does she let fans into a little bit of her creative process behind her new release, she always explains that this Pink Friday 2 tour will be “greater than every other tour combined.”

Which is saying a lot! Given her Young Money labelmate Drake recently shut down arenas all over the world on his It’s All A Blur Tour.

Nick states, “Even though this album is called Pink Friday 2, even though we love the nostalgia, this will not remind you of another tour. That’s how I’ll say it. I mean, it’s gonna be greater than every other tour combined — like this album. This will be a very different feeling tour, even if you’ve been to every Nicki Minaj tour that’s ever existed. Because there are certain things that I always do similar in all my tours. This time, it’s going to be a completely different perspective.”

We can’t help but wonder exactly what this means, whether she’s talking about her performance style or her set design. But one thing’s for sure: it sounds like she’s putting a lot of time and effort into giving fans an unforgettable show!

“In addition to it being, of course, a whole new album, the approach to the tour will be very different and the feel of the tour will be very different. We still gon’ cover all the ground that is required to cover in order for y’all to know that you fucking with the best, but it won’t remind you of another tour.”

The Pink Friday 2 Tour dates have yet to be announced, but Nicki has previously revealed it should start somewhere in the first quarter of next year. In the meantime, we wait patiently for the arrival of Pink Friday 2 on November 17th, marking her first album in five years.

Fans can pre-save the album here.

DJ Envy Expected to Cooperate Against Cesar Pina

Screen Shot 2023 10 18 at 9.22.48 PM

DJ Envy’s lawyer spoke with famed court reporter Meghann Cuniff, who details The Breakfast Club host’s relationship with Cesar Pina.

Speaking with Envy’s lawyer, Massimo D’Angelo, Cuniff reports that “Envy is going to be assisting and cooperating fully” to get money back for himself and his victims.

D’Angelo said Envy invested $500K with Pina and “didn’t get any money back.” Adding, “He paid out substantial sums similar to some of the other investors who thought they were getting money back.”

Earlier this month, federal agents arrested DJ Envy’s former business partner Cesar Pina on Wednesday.

According to Tony “The Closer” Robinson, Pina, a.k.a. “Flipping NJ,” is accused of running a real estate Ponzi scheme. He is charged with scamming investors out of millions of dollars.

DJ Envy, real name RaaShaun Casey, is a co-defendant in multiple lawsuits filed by investors who say they were ripped off by Pina in an elaborate Ponzi scheme.

Envy and Pina held seminars to lure hundreds of investors to flip distressed properties for profit. But investors say Pina took their money and ran. DJ Envy also promoted the seminars on iHeart Radio’s popular Breakfast Club morning show.

Many victims said they invested with Pina because DJ Envy was his business partner and they trusted Envy.

But DJ Envy denied any involvement in the Ponzi scheme. He said he’s also a victim because he gave money to Pina.

Jose Santiago and his wife, Jessica Ortiz told News 4 they invested $200,000 in a Paterson, NJ property that Pina claimed he owned.

“He’s advertising this all over radio and television, so I thought this was legit,” Santiago said.

Nigel Chamblin said he invested nearly $1 million in several properties that Pina claimed he owned. But Pina didn’t own any of the properties.

“There were other people investing in these exact same properties,” Chamblin told News 4. “It was a scam, it was a lie.”

Jonathan Majors Trial Set to Begin on Nov. 29

Jonathan Majors' U.S. Army Campaign Pulled From TV After Domestic Arrest

Jonathan Majors is headed to trial. The actor’s case was denied a dismissal by a New York Judge, who marked the trial date to start on Nov. 29.

According to Variety, Majors attending the hearing via Zoom and his legal team requested that “contested evidence” remain sealed away from public view. Majors’ attorney, Seth Zuckerman, believes “the disclosure of sensitive information will limit Mr. Majors’ right to a fair trial.” Opposition papers for the information from the media will be allowed until Nov. 6.

Earlier this week, reports emerged stating Jonathan Majors’ domestic violence accuser will be charged with assault concerning the incident that led to the actor’s arrest earlier this year.

According to Radar Online, the accuser, Grace Jabbari, was issued a summons to appear in New York court for the assault. Jabbari is “expected to voluntarily report to the NYPD’s 10th precinct in the near future” according to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Public Information of the New York Police Department.

Previously, Jabbari stated Majors hit her with an “open hand” leading to a substantial injury behind her ear. Jabbari also claimed Majors caused swelling after he grabbed her hand and “put his hand on her neck, causing bruising and substantial pain.”

A charge for the alleged strangulation was dropped.

Offset Says Hip-Hop’s Numbers Are Down Because ‘Everything is the Same’

Offset Says Hip-Hop's Numbers Are Down Because 'Everything is the Same'

Offset is currently enjoying the success of his second solo album, Set It Off. In a conversation with Ebro Darden for Apple Music, Offset revealed he analyzed the Hip-Hop scene and thinks numbers are down because the music has no individuality.

“I’m noticing that the no content music ain’t catching nobody ear,” Offset said. “I’m noticing that the numbers are down in our genre specifically, because I feel like everything is so the same. The next new nigga is another nigga that was just here. It’s nothing new being brought to the game. Not just on the sound side, but just all the way around as creatively too. The most videos be like a Rolls Royce in the background, some chains on, and that shit getting boring, fellas.”

He added, “It’s like no real entertainment. Why you got these pop and these country artists smoking shit, because they coming with the full around, the full around everything. The full package, you know what I’m saying? Everything ain’t flexing.”

Offset also detailed his desire to give fans a higher level of entertainment value. “You’ve got to give the fan an experience. Experience is not you on the mic, that shit don’t be enough, bro. Then you’re taxing on the ticket sales, you want $200 a ticket, but you ain’t got no production, it ain’t no… I feel like a show is like a movie, it’s the beginning, the middle, conclusion, the end. You’ve got to have some dialogue in that shit. You’ve got to have some choreo in that shit. You’ve got to have some wow moments. You’ve got to have where everybody in the crowd feeling your painful song.”

He added, “The colors and the lasers or the lights of the show is what matter also too. And I just feel like educationally-wise, it’s not diving into that and learning that. It ain’t never too late. And so that’s why if you look at the lineups, this is getting thinner and thinner on them lineups. They’re not trying to pay you $600,000 to come just walk the stage, brother.”

You can hear the full interview below.

On Friday, Oct. 13th, rapper Offset marked the release of his first solo album in four years, ‘Set It Off,’ with an unforgettable celebration at LIV Miami. The charismatic rapper graced the stage in a stylish checkered jacket, beaming with joy as he entertained the crowd with hit songs like “Jealousy,” “Fan,” and “Clout.”

Adding to the evening’s star power, Offset was joined by his rapper wife, Cardi B, who unveiled a new straight, long-haired look and a figure-hugging pink bodycon dress. Cardi B was the life of the party, taking over the DJ booth to fire up the crowd before performing a couple of her chart-toppers, “Bongos” and “WAP.”

The power couple celebrated Cardi B’s 31st birthday in style earlier in the week. Offset went all out, adorning their home with hundreds of pink roses and gifting the Bodak Yellow rapper with multiple Hermes Birkin bags, demonstrating their love and affection for each other.

The LIV Miami bash was undoubtedly a night for Offset and Cardi B fans to remember.

Blueface’s Fiancée Jaidyn Alexis Signs to Columbia Records

Blueface's Fiancée Jaidyn Alexis Signs to Columbia Records

Blueface and his future wife, Jaidyn Alexis, getting to work. Alexis will join the Columbia Records label under a deal through BuVision, a joint venture between Columbia and Akon’s brother Bu Thiam. “Shout out to MILF Music, you know,” Blueface said in the video.

With all the back-and-forth turmoil between Blueface and Chrisean Rock, the Los Angeles rapper has solidified who he wants to spend the rest of his life with Jaidyn Alexis.

Not only is Jaidyn the mother to his two kids, but the two lovebirds have been in each other’s lives since they were teenagers in high school. This past weekend on Sunday, Blueface shared a clip of the moment he proposed to Jaidyn, while inside a suite at the Los Angeles Rams versus Pittsburgh Steelers game at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

In the video, you can see Blueface setting up the play by saying “I need y’all to listen. Y’all ready? Y’all know I love Jaidyn right? You know this is the woman of my dreams right?”

Soon after, he gets on one knee to bust out the ring for the proposal, which looks like it cost a hefty bag! Of course, everything is grandiose when it comes to Blueface, especially his jewelry game. The two were also matching in Gucci outfits, as Jaidyn leans in for a kiss (with a lot of tongue).

Of course, Jaidyn says yes, eventually shedding some tears of happiness as she admires the 30 karat diamond ring on her finger.

Blueface also took to Twitter to explain the proposal, and why he truly feels Jaidyn is the “woman of his dreams.”

Me an Jaidyn gone continue to grow an build I’m so happy I got somebody I KNOW is worth giving it all too at the end of the day,” Blueface tweets.

He also took the time to throw yet another shot at Chrisean.

Exclusive: Juicy J Didn’t Know Cardi B Was On “Jealousy” When He Cleared The Sample

Juicy J

What Juicy say? STFU!

Juicy J is the founding member of Hip-Hop group Three 6 Mafia, positioning himself to be one of the most influential rappers of all-time. Hailing from the streets of Memphis to now an Oscar winning, Grammy-winning, multi-Platinum selling recording artist and producer, real name Jordan Houston III deserves all his flowers.

Now, Juicy J is excited as ever to be unveiling his new book titled Chronicles of The Juice Man, written in collaboration with Soren Baker. Serving as his memoir, the book not only sees Juicy J telling his life story, but unveils a much more vulnerable side that fans have yet to see thus far. Topics his struggles with poverty, substance abuse, addiction, mental health, and more.

The Source had the pleasure of speaking with Juicy J at his book signing at Barnes & Noble at The Grove in Los Angeles. Read below as we discuss the book that changed his life, mental health, the moment he fell in love with Hip-Hop, favorite Gucci Mane song, meeting Cardi B, best memory with Gangsta Boo, and more!

Chronicles of The Juice Man, how excited are you?

I’m so excited. I’m so blessed man, this is a dream come true.

Is your hand okay? Those were a lot of autographs.

Yeah, I’m good. Some people just grabbed so hard like, “Hey!” I’m like whoa, slow down. [laughs] I’m cool though. This is the fun stuff. Creating this music, promoting it is the hard stuff. This stuff: meeting the fans, hugging people and hearing about the stories, they talk about the music, it’s the fun stuff.

Do you have a memorable fan encounter from today?

Oh yeah, many of them. One of the guys came through and said he had broke his back. While he was in surgery, he was listening to Three 6 Mafia. He said it healed him. Wow, that’s dope.

How’s it feel for the book to sell out in an hour?

Damn, I’m shocked. Ain’t gon’ lie, I’m about to bust out in tears. Like really? Hell nah. I’m just so happy. I’ve been doing this for so long. People are really coming and still supporting them, that’s big. I’ve been doing this stuff for over 30 years. It’s amazing.

I got to read a few pages of the book. Was it difficult being so vulnerable with your life story?

Oh no, I just wanted to let it out. Like fuck it.

What surprised you most about writing the book?

I ain’t gon’ say it surprised me. When I was writing the book, my mom got diagnosed with cancer. So really, I was in a lot of pain as I was writing this book.

What impact did that have on your creativity? Did it change anything about the book for you?

No, it didn’t change anything. I just kept going in, because I know she would want me to keep on going. Keep moving. Because when she was alive, I was telling her about the book. She’s like “Oh, that’s gonna be great. I can’t wait to read it.” She’s reading it now in heaven.

Are there any books that changed your life or perspective?

There’s this book about Stax Records. That’s the book I read when I was a youngster coming up. It taught me a lot about how to market my music. This guy named Al Bell that was running Stax, he had a great marketing plan. I read that marketing plan over and over again in that book, and I use it for my own artists. And now me and Paul’s company, Hypnotize Minds.

Is that the cheat code to musicians trying to make it?

Well, it depends where you get your inspiration from. Some people get their inspiration from drug dealers, different kinds of people or whatever. But my inspiration came from Al Bell, the guy that ran Stax Records.

You discuss mental health and substance abuse in your book, what’s the #1 advice you have for someone struggling with addiction?

Get some help, quick. Whatever you got going on in your life, get some help. They got the hotline 988, reached out to our organization. Immediately, because you never know man. With those episodes we have in our life of that mental. I said mental to me mental health kind of comes and goes you can get depressed and happy one day he said, you just don’t want to just get to get into a situation where you just be just go deep into depression. So get some help soon.

What effect did poverty have on your mental health as a child?

It made me a hustler, didn’t want to be broke. Not so much as that, a lot of different things. Me growing up in the hood, I seen police officers beat the hell out of a guy who’s bloody in the street. People getting shot, it messed me up. It traumatized me a little too. But look, it made me stronger. I’m still here today because I overcame a lot of obstacles in my life.

I interviewed Jeezy who said writing his book was therapy for him. I would assume that’s the same for you?

Yes, mos def. Telling him my story. Hopefully somebody out there I can reach, and learn something from this. Get inspired from it.

What are some things you practice daily for self-care?

I pray. I try to tell myself that nothing’s promised. That keeps me moving forward.

Hip-Hop celebrates 50 years this year. What was the moment you fell in love with Hip-Hop?

In the early 80’s, I heard this group called Sugarhill Gang and I was blown away after that. I said I gotta be a rapper!

Favorite Gucci Mane song?

What’s that song he got on YouTube? Him and Mike Will. Mike Will did the beat. He’s outside rapping on the corner with his shirt off. Can’t remember the song, but Waka Flocka’s on there. It’s a classic video. They’re standing on the block, just out there. It looked like they’d been drinking or selling drugs, it was so raw. Gucci Mane just started rapping. I used to listen to a lot of Gucci Mane. 2007, 2008, 2009, I was heavy Gucci Mane.

How was it meeting Cardi B?

It was awesome. Cardi B is a real one. Cardi B is a realistic person. She’s down-to-earth. She’s cool as fuck. She even promoted my book. She didn’t have to do that. I was like wow, thank you Cardi. I appreciate that. She’s a real one man. Hopefully one day, me and Cardi can make some music.

I heard the sample in “Jealousy”!

Oh that was dope! They sampled that, I’m like oh shit. When I cleared the sample, I didn’t hear her vocals on there. I didn’t know she was going to be on there until I heard the song. I’m like oh shit! Cardi B’s on this motherfucker.

We were excited when you got that request?

Oh yes. I always get excited when I get a sample request. Cha-ching.

What moves you more: producing or rapping?

I will say producing. That was always really my first love. When I first started DJing, I was going to be a DJ. When I first started DJing, I wanted to be a producer first.

Lola was a good friend of mine. Do you have a fondest memory with her?

Yes, a lot of them. But the main memory I have with Lola, rest in peace, was the last conversation we had. I talk about it in my book. It was a very spiritual, deep conversation. We laughed about a lot of old times and everything. She was talking about my mom, discussing her death. That was the most wonderful time I had with Gangsta Boo man, rest in peace.

How much is 10K Projects offering you?

We still in the talks on that. We’ll have to see man. I don’t know how things are gonna go. I’m gonna keep that on the low, but we’re still in talks.

[WATCH] Rick Ross Says He Would Take Dinner With Jay-Z Over $500k

Rick Ross Thinks the Solution to Ari Lennox's Label Woes is Wingstop

With Jay-Z himself ending the viral debate taking over social media question would you rather lunch with Jay or $500, Rick Ross decided to chime in. The MMG boss explained why picking the brain of the Drug dealer-turned billionaire is more valuable than pocketing half a million dollars.

“I’ma take the dinner and I’ma tell you why,” Ross said in a video posted to his Instagram Stories. “In ’08 when I turned in my second album [Trilla], I had a meeting with Hov. We went to lunch. Philippe Chow, Manhattan — the orange chicken on the stick with the peanut sauce was the vibe at the time. Let me cut through the conversation.

“He said, ‘Rozay, versus writing to every beat you like, write to every record you could make work.’ He told me a quick story about ‘Big Pimpin.’ I said, ‘Okay, bet.’ I went from writing one record to every 80 beats I like, to writing 40 records out of every 80 beats I could make work.”

Rozay credited Hov’s advice with helping him level up as an artist which, in turn, brought him more success in the rap game and laid the foundation for his other lucrative business ventures.

“It took me to another level as a writer, another level as an artist,” he continued. “The amount of work I was putting out was next level. So you gotta ask yourself, are you ready to digest the knowledge or you just want to look at this watch at the table?”

Thoughts?

Several rappers have had run-ins with the law, but now body cam footage is usually posted online for the public to see.  A recently released body cam video shows Louisiana rapper Boosie BadAzz getting pulled over during a traffic stop. The rapper then threatened to spit on cops with the Fairburn Police Department while he was detained during a traffic stop in Georgia on Tuesday. According to reports, the rapper and the driver were pulled over for having dark window tints and a concealed license plate.

Migos rapper Offset was arrested in Atlanta when police found guns in his car. Prosecutors say the probable cause was failing to maintain his lane and tinted windows. ATF said they wanted to know who was in the vehicle — but when Clayton Co. officers smelled weed, they decided to search the car … leading to Offset’s arrest for gun possession.
