Amy Winehouse’s Father Files Lawsuit Against Friends Over Auctioned Possessions

AmyWinehouseHologramWorldwideTourtoBeginin

The late Amy Winehouse’s father, Mitch Winehouse, has taken legal action against two former friends of the iconic singer, alleging that they unlawfully auctioned off his daughter’s possessions for personal gain. Documents obtained by The Daily Mail reveal that Mitch is seeking £730,000 (approximately $930,000) from Naomi Parry and Catriona Gourlay, who are accused of putting Amy Winehouse’s belongings up for sale at auctions in London in 2021 and 2022.

Mitch Winehouse argues that the items were listed “in their own names and on their own behalf,” leading to the conversion of Amy’s property for their benefit. The lawsuit alleges that Amy’s friends profited from the auction without proper authorization or explanation of how they acquired her possessions.

A statement from Amy Winehouse’s estate released last month stated, “Two individuals sold a number of items at that auction and have retained the proceeds: the items were all Amy related. The estate has questioned how these items came into their possession and has not had satisfactory answers. The estate has therefore launched a legal process to clarify the situation.”

If the lawsuit is successful, any monetary compensation received will be donated to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, a charity established by her estate with the mission to assist individuals struggling with drug and alcohol addiction.

Amy Winehouse, known for her soulful and jazz-influenced voice, tragically passed away at the age of 27 in July 2011 due to alcohol poisoning. Despite her untimely death, Winehouse’s music continues to resonate, and her legacy is celebrated by artists across various genres. Recently, UK artist Skepta paid tribute to Amy Winehouse with a house-fused single featuring a sample from her iconic track “Tears Dry on Their Own.”

The haunting and uptempo tribute showcases the enduring impact of Amy Winehouse’s artistry, emphasizing the timeless nature of her contributions to music. As the legal battle unfolds, the attention remains on preserving the legacy of a beloved artist and supporting initiatives that reflect Amy Winehouse’s dedication to helping others facing addiction challenges.

Kanye West Reveals New Vision: A Sustainable City in the Middle East Called DROAM

The Gap Sues Kanye West Following Failed Partnership

Kanye West has once again set his sights on a groundbreaking project—this time, in the form of an entire self-sustaining city in the Middle East, aptly named DROAM. While West is known for his boundary-pushing ventures, this latest endeavor raises eyebrows and as usual— skepticism.

The rapper, who has teased fans with unreleased albums and announcements, revealed his plans for DROAM on X. The city, currently in Phase 1 development, is projected to span a colossal 100,000 acres, an area twice the size of New York City. West is actively seeking collaborators, extending an invitation to project managers, engineers, architects, contractors, and builders to join him in this audacious venture.

However, amidst the grandeur of this visionary city, reports have surfaced about West’s Los Angeles church, a property acquired earlier this year for $1.5 million. Disturbing images reveal boarded-up windows and accumulating trash, presenting a stark contrast to the global aspirations of the rapper.

Adding another layer to the narrative, West recently listed his Malibu home for sale after abandoning renovation plans due to financial difficulties. The house currently lacks windows and electricity, symbolizing a shift from opulence to neglect.

The plans of West’s futuristic city plans with the reported state of his existing properties creates a narrative of ambition and uncertainty. As fans eagerly await updates on DROAM and the speculated New Year’s Eve album drop, West’s ability to turn his visionary ideas into reality remains a subject of fascination and skepticism.

Here’s Why Hit-Boy Stands Out As Producer Of The Year At The 2024 Grammys

Here’s Why Hit-Boy Stands Out As Producer Of The Year At The 2024 Grammys

Hit-Boy is much more than a producer, he’s someone who lives, breathes, and sleeps music. Now, he’s celebrating a potential 4th Grammy win, being nominated for Producer of the Year (Non-Classical) at the upcoming Grammys.

His endless catalog of hit records include Jay Z and Kanye’s “N*ggas In Paris,” Travis Scott’s “SICKO MODE,” Kendrick Lamar’s “Backseat Freestyle,” Nipsey Hussle and Roddy Rich’s “Racks In The Middle,” and many more. But while the plaques and accolades are great, nothing means more to Hit-Boy than his newest endeavor: executive producing his father Big Hit’s debut album titled Truth Is In My Eyes.

The bond between Hit-Boy and his dad is undeniable, with the latter finally coming home from prison in May of this year. The crazy part is, Hit-Boy’s father was pretty much behind bars the entirety of Hit-Boy’s life. Prior to this 9-month stint, Big Hit was locked up for over 20 years.

In fact, Hit-Boy didn’t expect his father to be released this year, which makes the story even more compelling. Ever since then, Big Hit has been in studio recording, with Hit-Boy being one of the first producers to produce an entire project for his father.

On Saturday, December 16th, Hit-Boy and his father Big Hit celebrated their official album release with a pop-up store at Bottom Bunk on Melrose Ave. in Los Angeles. The entire city of Los Angeles was present to support, including fellow Los Angeles native Dom Kennedy and TeeFlii.

At one point, Hit-Boy even FaceTimes Snoop Dogg, who’s a standout feature on the 17-track project. Other guest appearances include The Alchemist, Musiq Soulchild, Benny The Butcher, Mozzy, and Dom Kennedy.

Downstairs, guests were able to shop exclusive merch such as limited-edition t-shirts and CDs. But it was the art exhibit upstairs that spoke volumes to the significance in this project.

One of the most inspiring pieces was the display of his actual jail cell that he spent 9 consecutive years in. With no light coming in, Big Hit was able to tap into his artistry by drawing on towels using sugar-free Kool-Aid — proving he’s an artist, not a criminal. There was also a small TV on the floor showing Big Hit doing push-ups, reminding folks to make the best out of their situation whatever that may be.

On the other side of this was a display showing Big Hit’s last meal before he was released, with a super basic sandwich inside. This was to show how inhumane the conditions were in prison, oftentimes being fed food that’s expired or old.

@themaskedmortal

The Grammy’s this year have some VERY interesting nominations, but one of my favorite categories is “producer of the year”👀🔥

♬ Surround Sound – JID

The beauty lies in the fact that the entire time Big Hit was locked up, his son was out here winning Grammys, making hits, and solidifying himself as a mainstay in the music industry. 2024’s Grammy nomination solidifies Hit-Boy as a game-changer, being the only nominee who produced all his albums by himself, as well as owns the rights to. This includes Nas’ King Disease III, which is nominated for Best Rap Album.

Hit-Boy’s work ethic speaks for itself. All his new releases are completely independent, putting his blood, sweat, and tears into each project and investing back into himself. In conjunction with his label Surf Club, Big Hit’s album is released on Jpay so those who are incarcerated can listen, with 15% of proceeds going to charity. The project was released exclusively on https://bighitnupid.com/ before hitting streaming services.

At the end of the day, Hit-Boy’s stance on owning his masters and giving music to his fans directly is one that does not go unnoticed. With the release of his father’s album, he shows audiences all around the world that they too can make their wildest dreams come true, without the need of a major label backing.

As always, Hit-Boy lets the music speak for itself. The Truth Is In My Eyes is told from the perspective of a father who was stripped of his freedom, and the chance to be present in his son’s life. It’s real storytelling and real lyricism, over production from one of the GOATs.

DJ Envy Requested to Submit Documents to Court or Face Arrest in Latest Development From Real Estate-Gate

DJ Envy Goes Against Lawyer's Advice, Makes Statement Against Rumored Involvement in Real State Scam

DJ Envy is on the clock. According to court reporter Meghann Cunniff, Envy must provide documents regarding Cesar Pina’s Whairhouse LLC bankruptcy by request by Judge Rosemay Gambardella to the court-mandated reported by Jan. 8.

If Envy does not meet the deadline he could be arrested and make a mandatory deposition in New Jersey bankruptcy court.

Envy already missed one deadline as Judge Gambardella states Envy did not comply witha subpoena to provide financial and communication documents by Nov. 28. The order also lists Pina and his wife, Jennifer Iturralde Pina, under the same Jan. 8 deadline. If the trio fail, Judge Gambardella could host a hearing “to address appropriate sanctions against Cesar Pina, Jennifer Iturralde Pina and Raashaun Casey for contempt of this Court’s order, including, but not limited to an order for arrest to bring the parties to the United States Bankruptcy Court.”

Last month, DJ Envy and Cesar Pina were named in a new lawsuit over their real estate business practices. In court documents obtained by AllHipHop, Envy, and Pina are being sued by Derik Deangelo, Chamblin Group Real Estate Ventures LLC, and Reispec Developments LLC.

The suit claims state the two men used their “Flipping New Jersey” seminars as “funnels to draw in victims” to their real estate scam. The lawsuit includes violations of the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act, a breach of contract, a civil RICO violation, fraudulent transfer, and more. The plaintiffs are seeking a jury trial and request $2,000,000 in damages.

“During these private consultations and meet and greets, members of the Pina network attempted to ‘size up’ the financial resources of each attendee and solicited individuals with sufficiently high net worth to ‘partner’ with Pina, DJ Envy, and other members of the network in real estate ‘joint ventures,’” the docs read. “During these meetings, Pina also offered his personal ‘consulting services’ wherein he made himself available for one-on-one private meetings with guests at his office for flat rate fees ranging from $1,500 to $2,500 per meeting and more.”

You can read more of the court documents here.

Recently, DJ Envy’s cohost, Charlamagne Tha God, spoke with the Rap Radar podcast and revealed that he would keep the show going if Envy was no longer part of the crew.

“‘The Breakfast Club’ is bigger than any of us as individuals,” Charla said. “I’ve always felt like that.”

He added, “I’ve never felt like The Breakfast Club was just a show about three individuals. That’s always where my mind was.”

Ye and Ty Dolla Sign’s ‘Vultures’ Album Pushed to January 2024

Kanye West

Kanye West is looking to start the year off strong. After the Vultures album didn’t get dropped on the original release date of Dec. 15, the joint effort with Ty Dolla Sign received a new date.

Scratch that New Year’s Eve date. Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign have pushed their Vultures album back to January 12. Representatives for Ye detailed to Billboard the album will make the first big splash of 2024.

Ye is also back on Instagram. Kanye West reactivated his Instagram account with the rolling release date of his Vultures album. Now, over 18 million accounts are waiting on his next post.

Kanye West is being blasted by the Black Lives Matter organization for wearing a Ku Klux Klan hood while on stage at this Vultures listening party in Miami.

The KKK hood worn by Ye was all black, instead of the customary white, which BLM and the National Civic League are blasting.

“The shock and disgust that Ye generated should be channeled into supporting efforts to eliminate this repugnant ideology from society,” BLM said to TMZ. “Hate groups are growing at an alarming rate in America. Of the list of over 1,200 active hate groups in society, the KKK is the largest with hundreds of chapters nationwide — making it larger today than any other point in the group’s long history.”

NCL President Doug Linkhart added, “Any wearing of clothing that evokes the Ku Klux Klan is an affront to not only those who have been targeted by the KKK, but to American values in general.”

You can see Ye wear the KKK hood below.

Jeezy Moves to Enforce Prenuptial Agreement Amid Divorce from Jeannie Mai

Jeannie Mai and Jeezy Host "Shower of Love" for Their First Child

Rapper Jeezy has taken another step in the ongoing divorce proceedings with TV personality Jeannie Mai, filing a motion to enforce the prenuptial agreement that the couple signed just a day before their wedding in March 2021.

The divorce saga, which began when Jeezy filed for divorce in September after two years of marriage and one child together, has seen both parties disagreeing in discussions over the terms of their split.

In the recent legal move, Jeezy has requested the judge to incorporate all the terms and provisions of the prenup into the final judgment of divorce. The rapper outlined the details of the prenuptial agreement and argued that it meets the necessary requirements for enforcement under the Scherer test, a three-prong test commonly used to determine the validity of such agreements.

According to the Scherer test, the court assesses whether the agreement was obtained through fraud, duress, or mistake, whether it is unconscionable, and if the facts and circumstances have changed to make its enforcement unfair and unreasonable.

In the legal documents, Jeezy asserted that both parties were capable of understanding the terms of the agreement and were represented by independent counsel during negotiations. He emphasized that they cohabited for a year before marriage, during which they disclosed all relevant financial information.

Addressing Jeannie Mai’s claim that the prenuptial agreement is unconscionable, Jeezy argued that the existing wealth disparity between the parties at the time of the agreement does not render it unconscionable. He stressed that both parties were fully aware of the financial arrangements and willingly entered into the agreement.

Jeezy maintains that the prenuptial agreement reflects a mutual understanding between the two public figures and is not tainted by fraud, duress, or unfair circumstances. As the legal proceedings unfold, the focus remains on the enforcement of the prenup and the division of assets in line with its stipulations.
