On this date at the top of the 21st century, legendary Yonkers trio The L.O.X.(Living Off Experience) released their sophomore full-length LP appropriately titled We Are The Streets on the Ruff Ryders/Interscope imprint.

Produced primarily by Double R in-house producer Swizz Beatz, We Are The Streets saw substantially more commercial success than its predecessor Money, Power And Respect, which solidified The L.O.X.’s hardcore Hip Hop fanbase. This sophomore album secured The l.O.X.’s tenure in the game despite their fallout with Sean “Diddy” Combs and Bad Boy Records not long after. The album was propelled by hit singles, but ironically the production of two of the three main singles was outsourced; ‘Ryde Or Die Bitch”, which was produced by Timbaland, and “Recognize”, which was produced by DJ Premier.

The album saw a short tenure on the Billboard charts, reaching Number 5 on Billboard 200 and Number 2 on US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.

Salute to Jada, Sheek Styles, Swizz, Eve, Dee, Waah, and the entire Ruff Ryder camp for this crucial piece of Hip Hop history!

Meek Mill Called Out For His Explanation Of Charging $250K For A Feature

Meek Mill is being called out on social media for his attempt to justify charging $250,000 for a guest verse. He had claimed that was his standard rate in a post on Twitter, on Tuesday afternoon. “Every time I do a verse I charge 250k and up if you got 150k on sight and I like the song we can swap it outtt!!!!” he wrote. Afterward, fans tried to rationalize how a song featuring Meek could remain financially profitable.

“If you spend $250,000 on a guest verse, you’d need to generate roughly 75 million streams just to break even on that expense — assuming you own 100 percent of the record. Add production and engineering costs and that break even line rise,” one user argued in response to Meek.

50 Cent Continues Legal Battle to Collect Debt from Teairra Mari

Screen Shot 2024 01 24 at 7.33.58 AM

Rapper and business mogul 50 Cent is steadfast in his efforts to collect a 5-figure judgment from reality TV star Teairra Mari, following a dismissed lawsuit she filed against him. The legal saga, which has persisted for years, shows no signs of disappearing, with 50 Cent recently escalating his collection efforts.

According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, has filed a Writ of Execution against Mari in Sacramento County, California. This legal move was made earlier this month and is aimed at enforcing the judgment, which continues to accrue daily interest. The current amount owed by Mari has ballooned to $50,476. This includes the initial award of $30,000 in legal fees and an additional $5,000 in sanctions and other fees, along with $14,000 in accumulated interest due to non-payment.

The Writ of Execution is a significant step, authorizing the Sheriff’s Department to take actions to enforce the judgment. This could involve seizing assets or other means of collecting the debt. 50 Cent’s decision to target Sacramento County suggests he believes Mari may have assets in Northern California, despite her last known address being in Atlanta, Georgia.

The background of this legal dispute stems from a lawsuit Teairra Mari filed against 50 Cent, which was ultimately dismissed. Since then, 50 Cent has been actively pursuing the collection of the judgment. He has previously accused Mari of not cooperating with efforts to ascertain her financial status, including failing to turn over bank records or provide details about her income.

At one point, 50 Cent even employed a private investigator to locate Mari and assess her financial situation. Mari, known for her role in “Love & Hip Hop,” has reportedly claimed in court that she has “virtually no assets and virtually no sources of income,” stating she hasn’t had steady employment since late 2019.

Mari has admitted to earning minimal income through sponsored posts on Instagram and starting a skincare business, which has yet to be profitable. Despite expressing willingness to agree to a payment plan, she has not proposed any specific plan to settle the debt.

The outcome of this ongoing saga remains to be seen, but one thing seems certain, 50 Cent is not letting up.

Nia Long Awarded Sole Physical Custody and $32,500 Per Month In Agreement With Ex Ime Udoka

nia

Actress Nia Long has reached an agreement in her custody battle with ex-partner Ime Udoka, following their separation amid a widely publicized cheating scandal. As per the latest court documents, Long has been granted sole physical custody of their 12-year-old son, Kez, along with a substantial monthly child support settlement.

ETonline reports that the court documents, which they obtained, outline the specifics of the custody and support agreement. Nia Long will receive $32,500 per month in child support from Ime Udoka. This figure, while notable, is about half of what the court initially indicated she might be entitled to, but was ultimately the amount mutually agreed upon by Long and Udoka.

In terms of custody, the agreement stipulates that Long will have sole physical custody of their son, accounting for 95 percent of the time. Meanwhile, Udoka, who is a professional basketball coach, has been allotted a “5 percent timeshare” with Kez. This arrangement acknowledges both Long’s and Udoka’s schedules, providing Udoka with reasonable visitation rights.

Screen Shot 2024 01 24 at 6.48.36 AM

The court documents also state, “If the parties are unable to agree upon Udoka’s visitation with Kez, they shall consult and work together with Kez’s treating therapist to encourage the visits with Udoka, and the therapist will inform the parties of what is best for Kez.” .

Despite the arrangement for physical custody, Long and Udoka will still share joint legal custody of Kez. This means they will both have the right and responsibility to make decisions concerning their son’s health, education, and welfare. The documents elaborate, “Long and Udoka shall confer with each other before making such decisions and confirm their decisions in writing.” In cases of disagreement, Long will have the authority to make the final decision for Kez, provided she gives Udoka 24 hours’ advance written notice.

The resolution of this custody battle comes after a turbulent period for Nia Long and Ime Udoka, marked by the public unraveling of their relationship. The agreement reflects a commitment to prioritizing the best interests of their son, amidst the challenges of navigating co-parenting post-separation.
