Rihanna’s “Interview Magazine” Cover Reminds Us She’s A Good Girl Gone Bad

RiRi’s back. The mother of two has her hands full at home with little RZA and Riot, leaving her with much less time to hit the studio or grab dinner with her gal pals. Nevertheless, the blonde beauty has still been spending time outside, donning consistently fabulous outfits no matter if she’s with her family or rolling solo. We’ve seen some sultry Savage x Fenty snapshots on her Instagram lately, and today (April 9), Rihanna took us back in time to her Good Girl Gone Bad era with photos from her Spring 2024 Interview Magazine cover shoot.

On Tuesday morning, the 36-year-old’s social media lit up with images and videos lensed by Nadia Lee Cohen. For the main snap, Rih channelled her inner nun with a black and white headdress, though she still showed some skin in an oversized white top. Mel Ottenberg was on deck for styling, as well as asking fans’ burning questions to the “Rude Boy” hitmaker. When asked what her favourite part about Los Angeles is, she answered, “My gynecologist, truthfully,” and also dished about wanting to undergo a breast lift after having her babies.

As she often does, Rihanna and her creative team played around with gender expression in this shoot. Some pictures see her smoking a blunt in a white button-up shirt and black leather tie – something her man ASAP Rocky would look equally as dapper in. Another photoset shows the multi-talent looking like a roughed-up housewife. “Literally how I feel in postpartum with two under two,” RiRi wrote in her caption, earning praise for being so vulnerable.

Michael Jackson Estate Claims Thriller Jacket For Sale Is Actually A Fake

Is there a more iconic piece of clothing in pop music than the Thriller jacket? No there isn’t. Michael Jackson’s red and black jacket is as classic as it gets, which is why fans were surprised to see it up for sale. It seemed too good to be true, and evidently, it was. The auction house who made the offer has been criticized by Jackson’s estate for misleading buyers. It appears that the jacket up for sale and the jacket MJ actually wore in the “Thriller” video are not the same.

The auction house in question, Gotta Have It Rock And Roll, listed the jacket as an authentic piece from the set of the classic music video. According to Jonathan Steinsapir, the attorney for Jackson’s estate, this couldn’t be further from the truth. The King of Pop only wore two Thriller jackets during the making of the video, and one of them sold for $2 million over a decade ago. Steinsapir pointed out that the sale of the “real” Thriller jacket was 20 times more than what Gotta Have It Rock And Roll is offering. In other words, the auction house knows they are hocking a random red and black jacket.

Steinsapir’s primary concern is misleading buyers. If an auction house like GHRR can sell an inauthentic piece as authentic, then it compromises the value of real Michael Jackson memorabilia. This would then hurt the pop star’s estate. The attorney demanded the auction house alter its description to reflect the truth, and GHRR obliged. It now reads: “The jacket is similar to the jacket worn in the Thriller video.”

This is not the first time Jackson’s estate has had to keep GHRR in check. In December 2023, estate lawyers took legal action to pull unreleased demo recordings from an auction. Litigator Alex Spiro threatened to get a restraining order against the auction house unless they released the “unquestionably stolen” recordings. The threat proved successful. The recordings have never seen the light day, and have been removed from the official GHRR website.

Recently, Kevin Gates had the internet ablaze thanks to an outfit he wore during a recent show. Following this show, a group of reporters got a few questions in with Gates. Shirley Ju was one of these reporters as she got some snaps of her interviewing the artist. However, no one could have predicted the social media frenzy that would take place soon after. Below, you can see it stemmed from Gates’ tight pants that were complemented by some high socks and a lack of a shirt.

In the comments on DJ Akademiks’ page, many were critical of the outfit Gates had on. “Them jeans so tight dawg how bro even put those on,” one person wrote. “His jeans got his legs growing inwards. He need to chill,” said another. The comments were all very similar, and it just goes to show that Gates has left some people polarized. That said, skinny jeans might just be coming back in style. Beyonce hinted before unleashing COWBOY CARTER that she had much more than just a country album in store for us, and she didn’t disappoint. Throughout the 27-track LP, the Houston native explores genres like bluegrass, Jersey club, pop, rock, hip-hop, and even mixes in some operatic runs just to flex her vocal range. Since she first confirmed that the second act of her RENAISSANCE trilogy would pay homage to her Southern roots there’s been a lot of curiosity – so much so that COWBOY CARTER has already managed to break records on various streaming platforms.

As Billboard reports, Bey’s eighth studio album is Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day so far this year as of Friday (March 29). One of its first singles, “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” had already racked up over 200M streams before COWBOY CARTER‘s big debut. Elsewhere, Amazon Music is celebrating some major wins for the mother of three on their platform. “[It has] the biggest debut to date earning more first-day streams on Amazon Music globally than any of her previous albums. The album also marks the most first-day streams for a country album by a female artist in the history of Amazon Music,” the outlet declares.

Over the weekend, the couple was spotted at what’s become one of their go-to restaurants, the Cheesecake Factory at The Grove in L.A. While Ye opted to rock a comfy pair of sweats and a hoodie, the Australian model took things up a notch with a sheer white unitard, leaving little to the imagination.

She completed the eye-catching look with a simple pair of white heels, an understated makeup look, and a sleek updo. This isn’t the first time Censori left patrons at the Cheesecake Factory in awe, however. Earlier this month, she and her man hit up the hotspot again before it even opened. They waited outside patiently until the staff allowed them in. Luckily, Ye was able to pull a few strings, and they got in about ten minutes before opening time.

It remains unclear exactly what it is about the Cheesecake Factory that has the high-profile pair so invested, but it’s safe to say there are more lunch dates in their future.

Ice Spice Will Hit New York City In A Super-Sized Collaboration With Alexander Wang

Earlier this month, fashion brand Alexander Wang announced their new collaboration with Ice Spice. The breakthrough rapper had a viral moment last year during her appearance at the MET Gala. And now she’s once again dipping her toes into fashion by serving as an ambassador for the brand. But now according to HipHopDX they’ve announced the next step in their collaboration and it’s a big one. According to a new press release, they’re hitting NYC with an impossible to ignore promotion next month.

“Starting in Times Square, a super-sized inflatable of Ice Spice will drive around NYC for the whole day, offering city-dwellers a look at Alexander Wang’s latest collection and campaign. The inflatable will be driven throughout the city, hitting up high-foot traffic areas for all to see,” their press release reads. It’s reportedly due to get underway on April 6. The ambition mirrors what Spice herself was seeking in her statement earlier this month. “As an artist, I’m always challenging myself on how I can contribute to culture in a way that drives things forward, and Alexander Wang is a great vehicle for that with this incredibly bold and global campaign,” she said. “Karl Lagerfeld was such a force, so I wanted to pay tribute to him but also incorporate elements of Chanel, one of Cardi’s favorite houses,” Carter said of the look. “We’ve given look after look, year after year, we’ve reached into archives that are impossible to reach into. Moreover, the reality TV star’s most recent IG post shows her with no top in a large fur coat, along with sleek shades, slicked-back hair, and brown tights. A lot of folks compared this to a recent look from Censori, who also wears her hair like that, recently donned a similar coat, and is known to be more revealing and lewd with her presentation.

However, when has Kim Kardashian ever been a symbol of conservative clothing, and have we really forgotten how she often breaks the Internet with her tantalizing beauty? To be clear, this isn’t a bad thing at all, but it seems a tad out of touch to paint her as the more shy or traditionalist fashionista in this case, and it’s not right to villainize Bianca Censori either. Furthermore, you can draw these connections between plenty of celebrities, most likely, but Ye unites these two in a unique way, leading to comparisons. It’s an understandable conclusion, but still an odd one.
