The topic that is breaking the internet this time involves his signature Stephen’s A-List segment where the list is always “fluid.” JJ Redick and Shannon Sharpe were in on it as well as the trio dissected his top five NBA players that deserve to be immortalized outside of their respective arenas. Stephen A. made the statement that Golden State Warriors Klay Thompson and Draymond Green need statues when they eventually retire.

This debate was sparked due to Kendrick Perkins comments during the halftime show for the Lakers versus Nuggets game. That would be the night in which LeBron James reached 40,000 points. JJ and Sharpe would go on to disagree with the list, saying players like Kawhi Leonard, Nikola Jokic, and Kevin Durant deserved to be on the list instead. However, Twitter is a tizzy more so due to the fact that Stephen A. said Klay and Draymond deserve statues, the two Warriors that helped Steph Curry win four rings.

One person claims that people do not know basketball if they disagree with SA. “The fact that there are mfs in this comment section that seriously believe Klay and Draymond shouldn’t get statues is the reason i can’t talk ball with half of y’all on here.” It looks like one other hoop fanatic will not be getting talked to, because he has the total opposite opinion. “This has been Klay and Draymond legacy for the past 4 seasons.” His tweet includes a meme of Steph asking for help after scoring so many points, while Klay and the others say, “Shoot that s*** Steph!” Hilariously, Draymond is looking to pick fights, “Lollll imma punch somebody.”

The on-air rivalry between ESPN’s First Take co-hosts Stephen A. Smith and Will Cain is unmatched. Emotional and controversial debates dating back to 2016 boast YouTube views in the millions.

Recently, Smith joined Cain in his new show Fox News Tonight, where Cain and Smith debated about the fate of Daniel Perry, the ex-Marine who choked a Michael Jackson impersonator and a homeless man named Jordan Neely to death on a downtown Manhattan subway last month.

Cain supported the former Marine, saying, “I think the world needs more people like Daniel Perry to step up!”

Unexpectedly, Smith did not jump to convict the 24-year-old Perry, stating, “I don’t know all the facts, so I’m not ready to convict Daniel Perry, like a lot of people, politicians and citizens have been so quick to convict this man of that,” Smith said. “I think we need to hear all the evidence. He did have him in a chokehold for an access of three minutes. That seemed a bit accessive, particularly when that he had two other people helping him [restain Jordan Neely on the subway train]. But then again, we need to know more.”

Cain, as expected, took the exact opposite stance as Smith, declaring, “You’ve got to be careful in a situation like this Monday morning quarterbacking. In my estimation, while I appreciate you wanting to wait for the facts, Stephen A. [Smith], I don’t think that the man should have even been charged…I don’t think what we see here [was] reckless, and I certainly don’t think he intended to kill Neely, and then to a larger point, by even charging him you create a dissident for strong men…you dis-incentives strong men to step up and help the vulnerable.”

JJ Redick Apologizes To Stephen A. Smith

JJ Redick has quickly become a rising star over at ESPN. Overall, people love him for the analysis that he has brought to First Take. Although Stephen A. Smith can be a lot to deal with, he has managed to navigate that relationship quite well. Sure, these two are constantly arguing with one another, however, it makes for great TV. The fans know that Redick played the game at the highest level, while Smith is simply a reporter. That said, most fans tend to side with Redick whenever there is a disagreement.

However, there are times when JJ Redick goes a bit too far and has NBA fans calling him a bit of an elitist. We saw that exact phenomenon happen this morning as Redick was talking to Stephen A. Smith about LeBron’s potential retirement. During the segment, Redick wasn’t fond of how Smith was talking about LeBron’s aging. This led to Redick saying, “You didn’t play Stephen A. You don’t understand our athletic mortality. 3 games at, wherever, South Dakota, Winston-Salem State doesn’t count.” For many, this was a cheap shot.

JJ Redick Retracts His Statement

Immediately after these comments, JJ Redick ended up offering an apology. Although Stephen A. Smith ended up playing it cool, many felt like he demanded an apology. After all, Smith pulls the strings over at ESPN and First Take in particular. He can end Redick’s career at ESPN in an instant and ultimately chose not to. Regardless, it made for some good TV that fans most certainly appreciated. Now, however, the discourse has shifted over to whether or not Redick is too much of an elitist. Ultimately, that Duke reputation is not boding well for him.

At this point, JJ Redick will have to be careful with how he moves on the show, moving forward. Otherwise, he could be taken off very soon. Stephen A. Smith is no stranger to making a headline. The ESPN First Take host makes a headline almost every day. However, this headline doesn’t involve Smith’s usual sports takes. But rather his opinion on discussions in the political realm. Recently, Smith was asked about his thoughts on former United States President Donald Trump. At one time, Smith claimed to be friends with the former President. Now that seems like days gone by. However, Smith thinks he knows what has changed in Trump.

“I think he’s changed, but I will tell you this: I think when people call him racist and stuff like that, I’ve never thought of Trump that way. He’s not against black people, he’s against all things not named Trump.” Smith is of the belief that Trump only cares about what is best for him. But that Trump is not a racist like many claims to think he is. The media legend even discussed a phone call with Trump, which the former president discussed in hopes of attacking the NFL.

Smith went on to discuss his political beliefs. Saying, “I don’t believe that. I think that I have conservative views, I’m unapologetic about that…Am I beyond voting for a Republican? Absolutely not. I am beyond voting for Trump.” It is not often we see a sports figure discuss the topic of politics. The topic can turn ugly rather quickly. However, Smith, as he states, is unapologetic. The legendary sports host isn’t afraid to go where others might avoid.

Stephen A Smith Announces Return To First Take Following Shoulder Surgery

Stephen A. Smith Says COVID-19 Vaccine Saved His Life

Stephen A. Smith has been missing in action from one of ESPN’s primetime shows, “First Take”. The illustrious and famed journalist and media personality has not appeared on the show for over a month due to a recent shoulder surgery. He announced the surgery and resulting hiatus on Twitter last month.

Fans and viewers are beginning to get anxious about the return of the coveted host. According to his response to one fan, Smith will be back in action two weeks from the 1st of the month, on Monday, August 15.

Since his hiatus, a number of analyst and personalities have stepped in to fill Stephen A’s seat for the time being. While no one can replace the potent precess of Smith, the analyst have done their best to hold down the fort alongside host, Molly Qerim.

Smith also took to Twitter yesterday to honor the life and legacy of the late, great humanitarian and champion, Bill Russell.

Former NBA player and New Orleans Pelicans JJ Redick called out Zion Williamson on ESPN First Take yesterday for being a bad teammate. The reason behind Redick’s call out was because Williamson reportedly hasn’t spoken to his newest teammate CJ McCollum.

“Shows a complete lack of investment in your team, in the organization, in the city,” Redick said. “I get that [Williamson’s] hurt and away from the team, but you just traded for one of the 50 best players in the league. A guy that’s supposed to be paired with you. Reach out and say hello. This is a pattern of behavior with Zion that we are seeing again and again. And look, I was his teammate. I can describe him as a detached teammate. That is an accurate statement. This is basic level of humanity being a teammate. Send a text to a guy when he gets traded to your team. That is just normal behavior. That is bare minimum that you have to do.”

Redick didn’t hold much back in his rant, including how Williamson is a detached teammate. Williamson hasn’t played any NBA games this season and it looks like he wants no parts of the Pelicans. McCollum shouldn’t take the ghosting like move personal. Williamson been ghosting the organization for sometime now.
