Fred Again.. Will Leave You In A State Of Bliss With “Ten Days”

One of London’s most eclectic musical talents, fred again.., is back with a new project, ten days. This tape is here pretty soon after his USB outing which was more a collection of tracks that was built upon over the last two years. Currently, that number is up to 16 and clocks in at around one hour and six minutes of material. Tons of rappers land on that offering, including Baby Keem, Future, Rico Nasty, Lil Yachty, Anderson .Paak, and more. Interestingly, the latter’s track, “places to be”, which also features CHIKA, is on ten days.

However, USB features two remixes, and not the final cleaned up version. Even though fred again.. is dropping this at the tail-end of the summer and it does have a lot of uplifting vibes on it, it still feels like you can play at any time. With the colder months approaching, moods may swing in the opposite direction. But to cure that, all you have to do is spin ten days and you’ll be instantly better. A lot of the beats on have a cheery, whimsical, or just possess some high energy. The first half features more of the latter, whereas the second half becomes more toned down in some respects. He really did curate a fun palette of soundscapes, and the guests fill in the gaps perfectly.

Channel Tres Delivers His Familiar Style In A Longer Format With “Head Rush”

Channel Tres has been developing one of the most unique approaches to hip-hop the genre has seen in quite a while. The Los Angeles, California native melds dance, electronic, R&B, funk, house, and hip-hop all in one. Throughout his career, which spans about six years, he has impressed on features and smaller projects. However, there has been one thing missing from the cool, calm, and collected MC’s discography. That would be a debut album, and well, it is finally here. Channel Tres named this project Head Rush, and that is quite an accurate description of what listeners will experience.

As per usual, he is bringing that unmistakable that he is known for, perhaps in a more refined manner. While there have been complaints by some die-hard fans for it being a little underwhelming, bloated, and not as ambitious, Head Rush still offers a lot. Making an album in comparison to an EP or a mixtape is a much different process, so having some missteps is not necessarily out of the ordinary. However, in that same breath, we can see some of the criticisms, as at times Channel can sound a little repetitive at times. Overall, though, the veteran does provide a lot of groovy, funky, and slightly left field bangers and it is still worth a true listen.

MIKE DEAN Continues His Incredibly Trippy World Building With “424” LP & Short Film

MIKE DEAN is known as one of the most respected creative minds in hip-hop history. He has touched the world of rap with incredible beats, synths, and forward-thinking methods to produce truly iconic tracks. Today, he is working with artists like The Weeknd, Travis Scott, Metro Boomin, Future, Kanye West, Beyonce, and more. In fact, he had quite a fair number of production credits on Metro and Pluto’s back-to-back number albums WE DON’T TRUST YOU and WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU. However, MIKE DEAN is looking to get his own shine with a new album 424.

This is now his fifth project and fourth entry in the 420 series. He began the saga back in April 2020 with the aptly titled 4:20. MIKE would then go on to release 4:22 in 2021 and 4:23 in 2023, respectively. Like the most recent installment, the veteran has recruited The Weeknd once again to help with production.

Listen To 424 By MIKE DEAN

Another cool part about this project is that MIKE made a similarly psychedelic short film to go along with the progressive electronic pieces he masterminded. The 13-minute video, which is on YouTube, is supposed to convey “the human experience through the eyes of a robot.” Jason Goldwatch was the director behind all of this, and he has worked with some of the greats in hip-hop as well. Make sure to check out 424 above.
