A touching new clip shows Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson giving Zimbabwe-born UFC fighter Themba Gorimbo a meaningful gift. It begins with Gorimbo recounting his experience of receiving a social media message from Johnson. Johnson later sneaks up behind Gorimbo, surprising him as he shares how grateful he was for his acknowledgment. The duo then share an emotional hug, and Gorimbo is seen promising Johnson to become a champion. “You inspired me to work hard, man,” he tells Johnson.
Later in the clip, Gorimbo shows Johnson where he’s been sleeping in order to train in Miami. He says that since there weren’t any rooms left, he told owners he’d be willing to sleep anywhere just to get an opportunity to train. He then revealed a humble area in the corner of a room with a pull-out couch that he sleeps on. Johnson is moved when the UFC fighter shows him a list labeled “my reason,” hanging on the wall. The list included all the reasons he’s working so hard to become a champion, including his family, God, his village in Zimbabwe, and more.
Johnson is later seen revealing new house that he got for Gorimbo to stay in. “Welcome home,” he then tells the athlete. “This place is yours. You don’t have to think about anything. The only thing you think about is your family, getting them over here, getting them with you, your training and becoming champion.”
Johnson shared the clip on Instagram alongside a sweet message to Gorimbo. “You and your family enjoy your new house brother,” it begins. “Lights are on. Bills are paid. Keep your ‘My Reason’ list close, keep taking care of your people and I’m honored to play a very, very small role in your $7 bucks journey. $7 bucks. I’ve been there too. Got your back brother. Let’s get to work on that dream of becoming @ufc champion one day.”
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson appears in a Fast X scene, despite pledging not to after a feud with Vin Diesel. Fast X, the final installment of the Fast & Furious franchise, stars Vin Diesel, alongside Jason Momoa, Brie Larson, and more. The film premieres in the U.S. later this week on May 19. Diesel asked Johnson to make an appearance in Fast X in November of 2021. Johnson responded to Diesel’s wishes, letting him know that it wasn’t going to happen.
In 2021, Vin Diesel posted a screengrab from an earlier Fast & Furious movie alongside Johnson. His caption reads, “I told you years ago that I was going to fulfill my promise to Pablo.” He adds, “I swore that we would reach and manifest the best Fast in the finale.” Diesel tells the actor, “I say this out of love… but you must show up.” Diesel asks the former WWE star to “not leave the franchise idle,” reminding him that, “[he has a very important role to play.” Diesel finished the post with, “Hobbs can’t be played by no other. I hope that you rise to the occasion and fulfill your destiny.” Johnson called Diesel’s post “an example of his manipulation.”
Johnson Pledged To Never Return To Fast & Furious
Johnson later told CNN that he”told [Diesel] directly that I would not be returning to the franchise.” He went on to say he “was firm yet cordial with my words.” Also claiming he, “said that I would always be supportive of the cast and always root for the franchise to be successful, but that there was no chance I would return.” He added that he didn’t like “that he brought up his children in the post,” or “Paul Walker’s death.” Going on to say, “Leave them out of it.” He said the two actors “had spoken months ago about this and came to a clear understanding.”
Since appearing in 2017’s The Fate of the Furious with Diesel, Johnson also appeared in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw in 2019. Johnson has gone back on the statements he made about returning, as shown by his brief appearance in Fast X.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has opened up about his history with depressing. During a visit to The Pivot podcast promoting the XFL Championship, The Rock recalled his state earlier in life, but not knowing what mental health was.
“I left school, but the interesting thing at the time is, I didn’t know what mental health was. I didn’t know what depression was. I just knew I didn’t want to be there,” Johnson said, speaking of his time at University of Miami.
The Rock also stated he encountered depression after his divorce from his wife, and now business partner, Dany Garcia in 2008. “I knew what it was at that time and luckily I had some friends that I could lean on and say, ‘Hey I’m feeling a little wobbly now. I got a little struggle happening.”
He would add how men normally keep a “head down” and work mentality, which isn’t always healthy.

Dwayne Johnson’s Memorable Run In WWE

Including The Rock as being one of the characters leading the way. Memorabilia from that era in professional wrestling is the dream of any fan that got to witness that time period.
It is no surprise that Dwayne Johnson is once again breaking records. However, it makes perfect sense that this card also involves Johnson’s greatest dancing partner in Stone Cold. The studios hoped this would be another superhero win, but Shazam underperformed at the box office opening weekend. Shazam: Fury of the Gods was an anticipated release from Warner Bros. and DC Comics, and it was clear the film was slated for blockbuster appeal. The newest Shazam‘s budget was $110 million, with a reported additional $100 million spent on marketing. However, it only pulled in just over $30 million at the box office. Many critics are pointing the finger at Dwayne Johnson.
Johnson starred as Black Adam in his separate film, and following that release, the former wrestling star seemed uninterested in jumping back into the superhero arena. He refused to reprise Black Adam for Shazam, a move that left many fans irked. Additionally, Black Adam and Shazam share similarities that are hard to dismiss, and some believe that it would have been a good look. Shazam‘s director David F. Sandberg took to Twitter to share a few thoughts, and he, too, is washing his hands of the superhero circuit.
“Shazam” Director Is Stressed By Superhero Conversations
“On Rotten Tomatoes I just got my lowest critic score and my highest audience score on the same film ,” he wrote.” I wasn’t expecting a repeat of the first movie critically but I was still a little surprised because I think it’s a good film. Oh well. As I’ve been saying for a while now I’m very eager to go back to horror (as well as trying some new things). After six years of Shazam I’m definitely done with superheroes for now.”
“Just to be clear, I don’t regret even for a second making the Shazam movies,” he added. “I’ve learned so much and gotten to work with some truly amazing people. Will forever be grateful that I got to direct two of these! They’ve been very challenging but valuable experiences. One thing I’ve really been looking forward to is disconnecting from the superhero discourse online. A lot of that stresses me out so much and it will be nice not having to think about that anymore.”
Dwayne Johnson Gets Blamed
Conversations regarding whether or not Shazam would have pulled in more significant numbers if Johnson was attached thrive. The film wasn’t without heavy hitters: Zachary Levi, Lucy Liu, Meagan Good, Adam Brody, Asher Angel, Rachel Zegler, and more starred in the flick. Some have called Johnson selfish for his decision, while others empathized due to the criticism over Black Adam.
However, others have noted that Shazam isn’t an intimate fixture in the universe. While the studios want to press forward with the character in future films, they must rope in the storyline to make sense to their core audience. Did you see Shazam: Fury of the Gods? Check out the trailer above.
Kevin Hart and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson are two of Hollywood’s most popular and bankable actors. Their long-standing friendship and on-screen chemistry have made them a dynamic duo in the entertainment industry.
The two have appeared together in several movies. These movies showcase their comedic talents and create some of the most memorable moments in recent film history. In addition to their movie collaborations, Hart and Johnson have worked on various projects outside the film industry, including social media and charitable endeavors.
With Jumanji 4 and DC League Of Super-Pets 2 slated to come out soon, we take a closer look at every time Hart and Johnson have worked together. Moreover, we will explore the magic of their comedic partnership and why their dynamic continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
Central Intelligence (2016)
Central Intelligence was the first movie that Hart and Johnson worked on together. Hart plays Calvin Joyner, a shy accountant who reunites with his high school classmate Bob Stone played by Dwayne Johnson. However, Calvin soon discovers that Bob is a rogue CIA agent who is on a mission to prevent a deadly threat to national security.
The two team up to save the world and clear Bob’s name. Fans and critics praised the chemistry between Hart and Johnson, who delivered a hilarious and entertaining performances in their respective roles. Johnson is charismatic and quirky, which contrasts nicely with Hart’s character.
The movie’s humor comes from their odd-couple dynamic. Johnson’s over-the-top antics and Hart’s skeptical reactions are priceless. The incredible witty banter between Hart and Johnson makes the movie a must-watch.
One of the funniest scenes in Central Intelligence is when Hart and Johnson’s characters break into a high-security building to retrieve important information. Bob, dressed in a unicorn onesie, sneaks around while Calvin watches from the security room.
However, it is difficult for Bob to move between his clumsiness and the onesie’s design. The result is numerous hilarious mishaps, including falling down a flight of stairs. Hart’s disbelieving reactions and Johnson’s exaggerated physical comedy make the scene inconceivable and unforgettable.
Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle (2017)
Jumanji: Welcome to the Junglewas the second film that Hart and Johnson worked together on, but it is arguably one of the funniest. The movie stars Dwayne Johnson as Dr. Smolder Bravestone, Kevin Hart as Franklin “Mouse” Finbar, Karen Gillan as Ruby Roundhouse, and Jack Black as Professor Sheldon “Shelly” Oberon.
The chemistry between Johnson and Hart is awesome. The two actors play off each other’s strengths, with Johnson playing a confident and fearless adventurer and Hart playing a neurotic and fearful zoologist. The contrast between their characters and their comedic timing raises the film to a loftier comedy level.
In one memorable scene, Johnson’s character teaches Hart’s character how to be more confident and decisive. As they walk through the Jungle, Bravestone encourages Mouse to repeat the phrase, “I have a backpack, and you don’t!” with increasing confidence.
The scene culminates in a side-splitting moment where Mouse finally yells the phrase at the top of his lungs. Unfortunately, only to be instantly ambushed by a group of furious animals. Hart’s uneven voice and Johnson’s deadpan delivery make the scene both humorous and charming. Additionally, the physical comedy of the animals sends the scene over the top with funniness.
Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019)
Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw is a 2019 action film directed by David Leitch. The movie stars Johnson as Luke Hobbs, a federal agent, and Hart also appears in a small role as the air marshal Dinkley. The movie follows the story of Hobbs and Shaw (Jason Stamos), who must team up to stop a dangerous virus from falling into the hands of a cyber-genetically enhanced terrorist.
Hart’s appearance as Dinkley was short, but he produced some of the movie’s funnier lines. Hart’s chemistry with Johnson adds an extra layer of humor to their scenes. Additionally, their interactions are some of the most memorable parts of the movie.
One hilarious scene showcasing their comedic talent is when Kevin Hart, as Dinkley, must watch Shaw’s sister. As Dinkley attempts to keep her entertained, he reveals some personal details about himself, including his fear of public speaking and his love for Disney movies.
Additionally, Hart’s delivery of the lines is spot-on. The chemistry between Hart and Johnson is also prominent in this scene, with Johnson’s character teasing Dinkley and adding to the dynamic. The movie was well-received by critics and fans of the franchise.
Jumanji: The Next Level (2019)
Jumanji: the Next Level is the 2019 action-adventure comedy film directed by Jake Kasdan. Additionally, it is the third movie Johnson and Hart worked on together. The movie is a sequel to the 2017 film Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, with Hart and Johnson reprising their roles.
The story follows the friends who are transported back into the dangerous world of Jumanji. Furthermore, they must now navigate different terrains and overcome various challenges to escape the game and save their friend. Critics praised the chemistry between Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart. The two actors play off each other’s strengths phenomenally well.
The dynamic of Hart’s character assigned the weakness of being afraid of everything, while Johnson’s character is a fearless adventurer is perfect for the two actors. A perfect example of the comedic chemistry between the two is when Mouse and Bravestone swap bodies due to a new game feature.
As a result, Mouse, who was previously terrified of everything, now has Bravestone’s fearless and confident personality. In contrast, Bravestone now has Mouse’s nervous and jittery persona. The scene is hilarious because of the discrepancy between the two characters’ personalities and how they adapt to their new roles.
Hart’s comedic timing shines as he plays Bravestone’s assured persona. Additionally, Johnson’s physical comedy is on maximum display as he struggles to adjust to Mouse’s nervous tics.
DC League Of Super-Pets (2022)
In DC League of Super-Pets, Krypto (voiced by Johnson), Superman’s loyal canine companion, teams up with Ace (voiced by Hart), Batman’s trusty hound, to form a league of super-powered pets. Together, they must stop a group of villains led by Lex Luthor from taking over the world.
This is the most recent film the two have worked on together. Critics noted that the chemistry between Johnson and Hart was a film highlight. Their dynamic translates well into animated roles, with Hart’s high-pitched voice as Ace playing off Johnson’s deep baritone as Krypto.
A great example of the two’s ability to bring their chemistry even to animation is when Krypto and Ace first meet and try to impress each other with their respective powers. Krypto shows off his super strength and heat vision, while Ace demonstrates his superior sense of smell and agility.
However, things quickly spiral out of control when Ace accidentally sets off one of Krypto’s heat vision beams, causing chaos in the city. Kevin Hart and his comedic delivery as Ace add a lot of humor to the scene, while Dwayne Johnson’s deep voice and self-assured attitude as Krypto create a great contrast.
The ‘who’s who’ crowd in Hollywood gathered together for yet another ceremony this award season, including Dwayne Johnson. His presence is expected; The Rock is one of the most celebrated actors in the industry. The star managed to transfer his success in the wrestling world to the silver screen. Variety had the opportunity to speak with the Black Adam star on the Oscars red carpet, and he was questioned about the controversy over Henry Cavill and DC.
Johnson was also instrumental in having Cavill return to the DC Universe as Superman, potentially ushering in a more permanent return. His look was brief in the film, but Johnson and Co. were hopeful that DC would announce they welcomed Cavill with open arms. Johnson fought tooth and nail for Cavill to be included in the Black Adam production, so it came as a disappointing shock when it was revealed the Superman star was being replaced.
Dwayne Johnson Hoped For Another Outcome
When questioned about the controversy, Johnson chose his words wisely. “You know, all that I can do, and all that we could do when we were making ‘Black Adam,’ was to put our best foot forward,” he said. “And surround ourselves with the best people and deliver the best movie we could. Our audience score was in the 90s. Critics took a couple shots. That’s just the business of it, though.”
He continued: “I think—it’s almost like when you have a pro football team, and your quarterback wins championships. The head coach wins championships, and [then] you have a new owner. The new owner comes in and says, ‘Not my coach, not my quarterback. I’m going to go with somebody new.’” Johnson was asked about the next superhero role he would tackle. He didn’t seem enthusiastic about suiting up to save the world. “I’m good for now,” he answered.
Elsewhere in the interview, the acclaimed actor toyed with the idea of hosting the Academy Awards. The public has petitioned for Johnson to helm the Oscars hosting duties, and it looks as if it’s something Johnson wants to do. However, it has to be the perfect timing. Check out more from Dwayne Johnson above.
Being a good award show means juggling a lot of different responsibilities. As three-time Grammys host Trevor Noah put it tonight, in addition to keeping the show moving along and keeping the crowd entertained with riffs between segments, he’s got to know stuff about the audience. Stuff like how much LL Cool J loves breakfast cereal (or so he says).
But not only did Noah have to keep that information handy, but he also got to put it to good use. Noting that pop star Adele is a huge fan of actor Dwayne Johnson but has never met him, Trevor joked that he didn’t have Dwayne Johnson waiting in the wings to pop out on her — but he did have “The Rock,” Johnson’s wrestling alter ego.
It was a pretty sweet — and funny — moment, as Adele is clearly overjoyed to meet her Hollywood hero, popping up to get a nice hug from him. Naturally, fans watching and tweeting along on Twitter all had the same joke about poor Rich Paul, who has been dating Adele since at least the summer of 2021.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson shared an encouraging message for his followers to welcome in the new year. In a video posted on Instagram, Johnson discussed one of his favorite mantras.
“The quote is very simple, but oftentimes, sometimes, the most anchoring narratives in our life that we need are oftentimes the most simplistic,” he began. “The quote goes like this, ‘One day, or day one?’”
Johnson further explained that he’s in “day one mode,” advising his fans to follow suit.
“What is that thing that we wanted to accomplish … that thing that has been gnawing at your gut?” he continued, before adding, “That thing that you think you have some passion about … this is day one.”
“The first step of action is in the mental declaration — the moment we say ‘today is that day’ and the universe meets us halfway,” he said.
“Whatever it is, it could be something to improve your health and fitness, your wellness, your balance, your training,” he continued. “It could be something you wanted to accomplish in school. It could be something personal, it could be your relationships, to make them better. … Let’s go do it. It is day one.”
Before finishing his post, The Rock shared a quote from late WWE legend Dusty Rhodes.
“He’s up there walking in the clouds with my dad, the soul man, the Rocky Johnson,” Johnson lastly said. “Dusty said, ‘We ain’t laughing and joking, we’re cooking and smoking, we went out there and handle business.’”
“The Biggest Boss” Rick Ross opened November by letting the internet into his overstuffed mansion. People trolled him and called him a hoarder for owning an objective excess of clothes and shoes. Ross got the last laugh this weekend.
The multiplatinum rapper flaunted a prestigious if unconventional addition to his home decor. “I TURNED AN 757 AIRPLANE MOTOR TO A BRUNCH TABLE FOR ME TO ENJOY MY FAV DRINK @officialbelaire ” Ross captioned a video of the pristine table situated beneath an icy chandelier.
“You my family. I wanted you to see this. I just had my table delivered, been waiting on this a long time,” Ross said in the video. “Guess what I did? This is my amazing brunch area, but guess what we did? I bought a motor from a 757 airliner. That’s right. An airplane. A 757 airliner. Had the blades polished, had the lights inserted. I can change the lights — any color I want to. Had the tabletop, the top glass cut. This is custom. This is a Ricky Rozay customization! A Ricky Rozay request.”
Ross added that his “amazing brunch area,” boasting extravagant glass fish tanks, is where he enjoys “the finest spirits,” such as Luc Belaire, McQueen, and Bumbu. “DM me if you wanna know how much I spent on this,” he concluded. “Salute to the team for making this happen. It’s amazing.” The video would have fit perfectly as a scene on the original run of MTV Cribs.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson won’t need to DM Ross to learn about this sort of investment. “Love this brotha. I had a ‘GSD’ table made for my office (get sh*t done),” he commented on an Instagram photo of Ross sitting at the table alongside #hardestworkersintheroom and a flexing emoji.
DJ Khaled also left the very on-brand comment, “GOD DID,” and Ross received more love in the comments from DJ Clue, Slim Thug and Trina.
