Draymond Green Completely Failed At Chugging A Beer During The Match Golf Event

Draymond Green wasn’t playing at The Match but he certainly managed to steal a few headlines at the celebrity golf event. Green was at the Wynn Golf Club in Paradise, Nevada to support Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, who were taking on Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce in the eighth edition of the tournament. Furthermore, Green brought his patented trash talk to the fairway, consistently lobbing insults and barbs at the Chiefs duo.

But oh how the turntables turn as Kelce squared up with the NBA veteran. Presented with a beer bong, Green was asked to shotgun a cold one. This was Green’s chance to show up Kelce, who had chugged a 30-ouncer in under six seconds earlier in the day. Safe to say, Green completely biffed the opportunity.

Green Pulls Off The Most Chug Of All Time

Reviewing the game film, it appears to be a classic skill issue. After puncturing the can, Green immediately loses control of the hose. Subsequently, the weight of the beer pulls the hose away from his mouth, causing it to spill down his front. In future, Green needs to have the beer elevated above his mouth and utilize his puncturing hand to support the hose. Additionally, a very amused Kelce followed Green as he ran around the green. The tight end brushed off any attempt at an excuse for why the impending free agent couldn’t chug like the proud Spartan he claims to be. Did he never crush a beer bucket from Crunchy’s?

Hopefully, Green’s shotgunning inability will not count against him in NBA free agency. Green, who declined his player option with the Warriors, will officially become a free agent at 6pm ET on June 30. While he is widely expected to re-sign with the Warriors, there is a chance that he heads elsewhere. The Kings, Pistons, and Trail Blazers have all been named as potential suitors for Green’s services. As mentioned, he is expected to return to Golden State. However, the unpredictability of the NBA offseason so far as shown us that anything is possible. Follow all the latest sports news here at HotNewHipHop.

Draymond Green Likely Returning To Warriors Amid Wild Rumors

Draymond Green is set to become a free agent for the first time in his career after declining his player option with the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors are reportedly eager to get him back, which many pundits agree is an absolute necessity for Golden State.

“When the Golden State Warriors have contended, it’s because they have had an elite defense. You lose him, with really no way to replace him, you’re not winning an NBA championship,” JJ Redick said on First Take on June 14. “Without Kevin Durant on the Warriors, LeBron James basically can beat the Warriors any given time when it comes down to that head-to-head matchup with Steph Curry,” Kendrick Perkins argued on June 29.

Green Likely Headed Back To Warriors

As things stand, Green is most likely headed back to the Warriors. Speaking on Paul George’s podcast, Green revealed that he’s still in regular contact with his longtime teammates there. “[Steph Curry & Klay Thompson are] my brothers… I’m in touch with them a couple times a week right now just kinda letting them know my mindset, what I’m thinking… just to keep them in the loop.” Furthermore, Curry has previously stated that he would like to keep the Warriors’ big three together for at least one more season.

However, that has not stopped wild rumors from circulating. Green linked up with LeBron in France a few weeks ago. That lead to a bevy of rumors that he was headed to the Lakers. Then Brian Windhorst suggested that the Kings were making cap moves so they could possibly consider someone like Green. Most recently, Green reportedly took a trip to Portland. NBA Twitter lost it, believing that this definitely meant that Green was going to be teaming up with Dame on the Blazers. However, much like with the recent Kyrie Irving twist, Green’s saga isn’t over until he puts pen to paper. Follow all the latest sports news here at HotNewHipHop.

Cam’ron Reacts To Being Mentioned On “First Things First”

Cam’ron’s sports podcast has quickly garnered the attention of many. Whether it be from his jokes involving the latest drama with Zion Williamson. Or his wild comparison of Scottie Pippen to O.J. Simpson, sports fans are listening. Although the show likes to have a little fun, Cam’ron and Mase are educated in the world of sports. Including knowing some NBA players personally. Which is why it should be no surprise to hear them discussing the major storylines in the league.

However, it now seems the co-host of ‘It Is What It Is‘ is having a little fun at the big network’s expense. On a recent episode of ‘First Things First‘ Nick Wright and Chris Broussard debate the addition of Chris Paul to the Golden State Warriors. Paul was shipped out of Phoenix for Washington star Bradley Beal. While Paul’s first stop was with the Wizards, the veteran guard ultimately ended up in Golden State. Broussard and Wright were discussing what Paul’s addition would do to the morale of the team.

On his official Instagram account, Cam’ron shared a clip of the segment involving Wright and Broussard’s discussion. When Wright mentioned what I heard on Cam’ron’s show about the team chemistry of the Warriors, Broussard laughed it off. Cam’ron wrote this in the caption of his post, “Yo @chrisbroussard68 what’s so funny? U laughing but then agree with what we said. U know these players are my friends right? @getnickwright seems to know. If y’all need us up there just holla. We’ll give you a couple inside scoops…MAYBE. Lol. Just messing wit ya bro. All love.”

It seems as if Cam’ron is having a little fun with the show’s hosts. However, at the same time, the music icon is looking for respect for his own show. Giving credit where it s due in the sports world can be hard to come by. However, Cam’ron and Mase have created a fun environment for sports talk and obviously have a large following to go along with it. So, getting to the main topic at hand, will Chris Paul gel with the Warriors? Let us know in the comment section. For the latest news in sports, keep it right here with HNHH.

Wild Draymond Green Landing Spot Floated By Brian Windhorst

Draymond Green officially declined his player option with the Golden State Warriors earlier in June. While Green is likely to return to the Warriors, his decision means that other teams are able to approach him as well.

Furthermore, there should be a healthy market for the veteran. Green is an elite defender who could easily bolster the championship hopes of several title contenders. While there are some attitude issues that could cause hesitation in pursuing Green, his play is more than other the occasional on-court issue.

However, ESPN‘s Brian Windhorst suggested a particularly wild place for Green to sign with – the Sacramento Kings. While the Kings launched themselves into the Western Conference conversation last season, Green’s recent history with the team makes it an unusual pairing, to say the least.

Draymond Green To The Kings?

Windhorst pointed to the Kings’ draft day moves as signs they were chasing a big signing. During the draft, Sacramento sent Richaun Holmes and 24th overall draft pick Olivier Maxence-Prosper for a return to be announced later. The move allowed the Kings to create some much-needed cap space for a major signing.

“The Kings can now go hunting for Draymond Green if they wish,” Windhorst said on ESPN’s draft coverage show.“And that would be extraordinarily interesting because it is the exact, the exact, type of player they need…” As mentioned, Green is an elite defender, one of the best in the NBA.

However, catching himself, Windhorst went on to explain why the trade would be interesting. “You know, it would be interesting with Sabonis. That would be an interesting first practice.” Famously, Green earned himself a suspension during the Warriors’ playoff series against the Kings for stomping on Domantas Sabonis. Those would definitely be negotiations you would pay to be in the room for.

Brian Windhorst Is Having A Wild Take Week

However, Green to the Kings isn’t the only wild thing Windhorst has said this week. Speaking before the draft on First Take, Windhorst said that Victor Wembanyama’s skill set is ahead of LeBron’s at the same age. Wembanyama went first overall to the Spurs, as expected.

However, just how wild of a take is it? On the one hand, Wembanyama is a lean 7″2 who is going to struggle against more physical defenders. Furthermore, he’s never played in the American system of basketball, be it the NBA, G League, or another development league. While he’s been playing professionally since 2019, it’s on a much more relaxed schedule against “inferior” competition to what he will face in the NBA.

Despite this, Wembanyana is unlike any prospect the NBA has ever seen. His skill set is so unique that LeBron went as far as to call him an “alien”. Furthermore, he has spent the last four years focused purely on basketball, playing professionally in a well-regarded European league. Regardless, the debate also to whether he is worth the hype will be answered when he debuts in the summer league in a few months.

LeBron James And Draymond Green Spotted In France Together

LeBron James is easily one of the best basketball players of all time. Overall, he has a ton of accomplishments to completely back this up. For instance, he has won four NBA titles while also winning countless MVPs. Furthermore, he has been voted to the All-Star Game pretty well every single year of his career. At this point, his greatness cannot be denied. Even if you are the biggest LeBron hater ever, you have to admit that he has had a truly impenetrable career.

Subsequently, LeBron is going through an offseason filled with hard decisions. At this stage, his Los Angeles Lakers are looking for a point guard. Chris Paul and Kyrie Irving are available, however, Trae Young has also been floated around. Moreover, Draymond Green is currently a name that is being said as well. This is because he just declined the last year of his contract with the Warriors. Considering Green and James are friends, some believe that a union on the Warriors is imminent.

LeBron & Draymond Contribute To The Rumor Mill

As it turns out, these two are contributing to the rumor mill quite heavily at this point. For instance, an Instagram user named @josh_sass98 saw LeBron and Green out in France together. Apparently, these two were seen at dinner together on Sunday. Overall, this should not be a surprise to anyone. These two are great friends off of the court. However, one would be naive to think that neither of them spoke about basketball and their future moves.

Whether or not these two actually unite on the same team, still remains to be seen. At the end of the day, the Lakers do not have a ton of cap space to work with. If it was a choice between Draymond Green and someone like Kyrie Irving, then the Lakers would probably choose Kyrie. Either way, this is going to be a very interesting offseason. Let us know what you believe the Lakers should do, in the comments section down below. Stay tuned to HNHH for more news from the sports world.

Draymond Green Expected To Decline Player Option

The future of Draymond Green is one of the biggest free agency talking points of the NBA offseason. Green has spent his entire career with the Warriors after being drafted in 2012. However, 2023-24 represents a player option year for Green’s $99.6 million contract. 2022-23 was a sub-optimal year for Green, who admitted that he lost the locker room after his viral fight with Jordan Poole.

However, the Warriors had been eager to retain him. Despite criticizing Green for the Poole fight, head coach Steve Kerr said he was eager to have Green back next year. Furthermore, sources indicated that Steph Curry was eager to run it back with “The Big Three” (him, Green, and Klay Thompson) for at least one more year. However, major news has now broken about the potential future of Green with Golden State.

Warriors Will Fight To Retain Green

Per Marc J. Spears of ESPN, the Warriors expect Green to decline his player option year, valued at $27.5 million. “The Warriors expect Draymond Green to opt out of the final year of his $26 million contract,” Spears stated. “But Joe Lacob, [Mike] Dunleavy, the Warriors are going to do everything in their power, if he does as expected, to bring him back.” The Warriors are currently over $100 million over the cap. This could pose a problem in making Draymond a competitive offer on the free agency market.

As mentioned by Spears, the job of retaining Green, if he does decline the option, falls on newly-appointed GM Mike Dunleavy. While Dunleavy is a long-time Warriors exec, it’s unclear what sort of relationship he was with Green. His predecessor, Bob Myers, was seen as the “Draymond Whisperer”. However, declining his option year will allow other teams to pursue Green as well. Furthermore, this could see a major contender or cap-friendly team make a big offer to bring in the veteran big man. Draymond Green Clowns On Karl-Anthony Towns For “Changed The Game” Quote

Karl-Anthony Towns certainly doesn’t lack confidence. Drafted in 2015 out of Kentucky, Towns won Rookie of the Year in 2016. Since then, he has become a three-time All-Star and two-time All-NBA Third Team member. At the time of writing, Towns is averaging a career double-double with an average of 23 points and 11.2 rebounds per game. However, his 2022-23 season was limited to just 29 games due to injury.

While the Timberwolves have never been a contender during Towns’ time on the team, things do appear to be trending upward. 2022-23 marked the first time that the team made the playoffs in back-to-back seasons since 2004. However, the appearance marked just the third postseason of Towns’ career. Despite this, Towns raised some eyebrows with a bold claim. Appearing on Patrick Beverley’s podcast, Towns claimed that once his career is over, people will say that he “changed the game.”

Draymond Green Reacts To Towns Quote

It’s a bold claim to be sure. Towns is often an outsider in conversations about the NBA’s best center. Furthermore, the position is firmly dominated by the likes of Embiid and Jokić. Objectively speaking, Towns is going to have to do a lot more in the rest of his career to be seen as anything more as a solid NBA player and the best player during a down era for the Timberwolves. A major figure not buying the hype was Draymond Green. The Warriors veteran has never let comments like this pass him by. Additionally, Green has often been vocal about Towns in the past.

Taking to Twitter, Green retweeted a Bleacher Report post about highlighting Towns’ quote. “aye @patbev21 when people come on yo show they change the game!!l?!? 🤯🤯🤯 I’m looking forward to it man,” Green added in a quote-tweet. It’s a hilarious dismissal of Towns’ chest-pounding that only Green could pull off. Green and Towns have faced each other 17 times in the NBA, with Green currently holding an 11-6 record in those games. Do you think Towns is writing checks his career can’t cash? Golden State Warriors Can’t Contend Without Draymond Green, JJ Reddick Argues

The Warriors’ season ended in humiliation. They were bullied out of the playoffs by the Lakers in the second round. A lot has been written, and said, about this season for Golden State. Steve Kerr said the team never felt like a championship roster. Furthermore, Kerr placed much of the blame in regard to team dynamics on the fight between Draymond Green and Jordan Poole last October. Green agreed, stating that he lost the locker room after the incident. Despite this, Kerr is eager to have Green back on the team

Furthermore, while questions remain about the Warriors’ future, there is hope. Both Steph Curry and Klay Thompson both have at least one year left on their contract. Additionally, Green has the option to exercise a player year for $27 million. However, sources have confirmed that Curry, arguably the leader of this team, wants to run it back with the Big 3 for one more year at least. Now, another voice is advocating for the Warriors to do everything it takes to keep Green on the team.

Reddick Argues Warriors Don’t Contend Without Green

“Absolutely not,” Reddick began when asked if the Warriors can contend without Draymond. “Draymond is so important to everything they do on both sides of the basketball. And defensively specifically, what we saw last year was a non-elite defense from the Golden State Warriors…And yet, Draymond Green had another elite defensive season. He is the anchor of that defense. When the Golden State Warriors have contended, it’s because they have had an elite defense. You lose him, with really no way to replace him, you’re not winning an NBA championship.”

While Chris “Mad Dog” Russo sees the Warriors as a top-tier contender next season, Reddick is more reserved. To him, the Warriors have the potential to contend if they play the draft and free agency correctly. However, to him, getting rid of Draymond is getting rid of the team’s championship chances. Green has not yet been the focus of much speculation yet, with many believing that he will pick up his player option. However, what do you think Draymond should do? Do you think the Warriors will let him leave? Let us know in the comments. Follow all the latest sports news here at HotNewHipHop.

Steph Curry Eager To Keep Warriors Core Together

The Warriors’ season ended in humiliation. They were bullied out of the playoffs by the Lakers in the second round. A lot has been written, and said, about this season for Golden State. Steve Kerr said the team never felt like a championship roster. Furthermore, Kerr placed much of the blame in regard to team dynamics on the fight between Draymond Green and Jordan Poole last October. Green agreed, stating that he lost the locker room after the incident.

This raises the question about the future of the team. Cap space is a non-issue, given that the Warriors are so far over it. At the time of writing, the Warriors are $101 million over the cap. Much of that money is set aside for the Big 3 of Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson. Curry (under contract until 2026) gets $51 million. Meanwhile, Thompson (final year of contract) gets $43 million. Then there’s Green, who will receive $27 million if he chooses to pick up the player option year on his contract.

Curry Eager To Run It Back

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS – JUNE 16: Draymond Green #23, Klay Thompson #11 and Stephen Curry #30 of the Golden State Warriors laugh together after defeating the Boston Celtics 103-90 in Game Six of the 2022 NBA Finals at TD Garden on June 16, 2022 in Boston, Massachusetts. (Photo by Adam Glanzman/Getty Images)

According to The Athletic‘s Tim Kawakami, Curry’s preference for the offseason would be to bring back the big three for one last ride. “I think the most likely scenario is that the Warriors keep most of this together for at least one more season,” Kawakami wrote in a recent Warriors mailbag. “That’s what Curry wants. His opinion sort of matters.” Additionally, despite laying the blame at his feet, Kerr also expressed his desire to retain the services of Green for next season.

However, with Thompson and Curry under contract, Green is the final piece. Whether he exercises his player option year will be decided by a few things. Firstly, is the Warriors’ locker room truly healed from the Green-Poole fight last year? Secondly, who will replace Bob Myers, the long-time Warriors GM who retired recently? Furthermore, will that individual want to keep Green around? As Kawakami noted, it’s more likely than not that the Big Three will run it back. However, this is one storyline to keep an eye on. Draymond Green Roasts The Boston Celtics After Game 7 Loss

After becoming just the fourth team in NBA to come back from a 0-3 deficit in the playoffs, the Boston Celtics couldn’t become the first team to win a playoff series overcoming that deficit. The Celtics were blown out at home by the Miami Heat, 103-84. Twitter was quick to roast the Celtics for their subpar performance.

However, one particular criticism that stood out came from Draymond Green. Despite his own second-round playoff exit, Green has become a pivotal voice from the sidelines. Furthermore, there was no way that Green was staying silent as the Celtics crashed out in one of the most humiliating ways possible.

Green Roasts The Celtics

“The Boston Celtics are who we thought they were… They did not look like they were ready for the moment… All of a sudden they looked like they couldn’t play basketball with their left hand again,” Green said on his podcast in the minutes after the Celtics lost on national TV. Jaylen Brown had a team-high 19 points in the Game 7 loss, while the team went 9-of-42 from three-point range. However, Green’s comments are also a common sentiment that has followed the Celtics like the plague throughout these playoffs.

Despite entering the postseason as the second seed, the Celtics have never played like a second seed. They needed six games to knock off the seven-seed Hawks. Furthermore, they needed to come back multiple times against the Sixers in the Conference Semifinals. While team stars like Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have had historic highs, the moments of true team cohesion have been few and far between. Meanwhile, head coach Joe Mazzulla likely saved his job by getting the Celtics from 0-3 to 3-4, but a number of big questions remain about the team. What do they need to do to actually become the team that can make the NBA Finals consistently? Furthermore, how do you feel about Green’s comments? Let us know in the comments below.
