Chris Broussard Uses Ableist Slur While Discussing James Harden Trade

Chris Broussard is a controversial figure in the world of sports talk television. Although he may not be akin to the likes of Skip Bayless, he is someone who has been called out by athletes. For instance, back in 2019, he was embroiled in a massive beef with the likes of Kevin Durant. It was one of those feuds that had some questioning just how credentialed Broussard truly was. Furthermore, it was another instance in which KD was using his “trigger fingers.”

Since that time, Broussard has made a nice living for himself on First Things First. Overall, this is a show that also features Kevin Wildes and Nick Wright. The three are considered to be the best trio in sports talk television right now. Unfortunately, the trio is now at risk of being broken up thanks to a faux pas by Broussard today. In the clip down below, you can see the three discussing the James Harden trade. After Wright makes a point, Broussard asks if he thinks James Harden is “r*******.”

Chris Broussard Made A Huge Error

Of course, this is an ableist slur that can’t really be used anymore. As soon as you say it, you know you will have to apologize. Broussard was told not to say that and instead, he said, “developmentally disabled.” Later in the segment, he claimed that his first cousin who recently passed away was developmentally disabled and that he meant no harm. It was all a very strange sequence of events, and he is currently being dragged on social media because of it. Only time will tell whether or not FS1 fires him.

He has thoroughly pissed a lot of people off, however, that has never stopped him from doing his job. Overall, Bayless is best known for his time on First Take and Undisputed. It was on these shows that he showcased his anti-LeBron James agenda. The latter is set to return on August 28th after a brief hiatus caused by the departure of Shannon Sharpe.

Skip Bayless is now going to be working alongside Richard Sherman, which will make for fascinating television. Moreover, every single Friday, he will be sitting alongside Lil Wayne. The return of this show is bringing forth lots of anticipation, and there is no doubt that sparks are going to fly. However, a new report is showcasing just how much control Bayless wields over at FS1. According to Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports, there is at least one personality he had no interest in working with.

Skip Bayless Has Rules

That person is none other than Nick Wright of FS1’s First Thing’s First. While Wright has his haters, he is a pretty persuasive orator. In the report, it was revealed that Bayless feels threatened by Nick Wright and thinks the guy would wash him in a debate. “Skip doesn’t want to work with Nick Wright,” the source claims. “Skip doesn’t want to work with anybody who will make him look bad. And Nick would disembowel him on the air.”

This is a very interesting report and it speaks to the dynamics of FS1. However, Nick Wright and Chris Broussard are perfect right where they are, and there is no reason to mess with that winning formula. Cam’ron’s sports podcast has quickly garnered the attention of many. Whether it be from his jokes involving the latest drama with Zion Williamson. Or his wild comparison of Scottie Pippen to O.J. Simpson, sports fans are listening. Although the show likes to have a little fun, Cam’ron and Mase are educated in the world of sports. Including knowing some NBA players personally. Which is why it should be no surprise to hear them discussing the major storylines in the league.

However, it now seems the co-host of ‘It Is What It Is‘ is having a little fun at the big network’s expense. On a recent episode of ‘First Things First‘ Nick Wright and Chris Broussard debate the addition of Chris Paul to the Golden State Warriors. Paul was shipped out of Phoenix for Washington star Bradley Beal. While Paul’s first stop was with the Wizards, the veteran guard ultimately ended up in Golden State. Broussard and Wright were discussing what Paul’s addition would do to the morale of the team.

On his official Instagram account, Cam’ron shared a clip of the segment involving Wright and Broussard’s discussion. When Wright mentioned what I heard on Cam’ron’s show about the team chemistry of the Warriors, Broussard laughed it off. Cam’ron wrote this in the caption of his post, “Yo @chrisbroussard68 what’s so funny? U laughing but then agree with what we said. U know these players are my friends right? @getnickwright seems to know. If y’all need us up there just holla. We’ll give you a couple inside scoops…MAYBE. Lol. Just messing wit ya bro. All love.”

It seems as if Cam’ron is having a little fun with the show’s hosts. However, at the same time, the music icon is looking for respect for his own show. Giving credit where it s due in the sports world can be hard to come by. However, Cam’ron and Mase have created a fun environment for sports talk and obviously have a large following to go along with it.
