Drake Smoothly Caught A Book Thrown At Him By A Fan Onstage: ‘You Lucky I’m Quick’

Over the course of the past year, several artists have had weird things thrown or handed to them while they were performing. A fan of Pink handed her a wheel of cheese, and another gave her the ashes of her deceased mother. Another fan once through Skittles at Harry Styles. A more aggressive audience member even threw a phone at Bebe Rexha.

All throughout Drake and 21 Savage‘s It’s All A Blur tour, fans have been throwing brassieres, panties, and other undergarments at Drake while he performs on stage. But last night (August 18), at Chase Center in San Francisco, a fan tossed a book at him.

While quite the writer, and a published author himself, Drake wasn’t thrilled about having a book thrown at him.

Luckily, he caught the book before it hit him. But had he not, it sounds like the consequences would’ve been severe.

“You lucky I’m quick,” said Drake immediately after catching the book. “I would’ve had to beat your ass if that hit me in the face.”

Drake isn’t the only artist who recently warned fans not to throw objects at him while performing. Latto also told a fan that they’d get their “ass beat” if they continued to throw stuff at her while on stage.

The Latest Bra Drake Caught Onstage Was Almost Bigger Than He Is

It didn’t take long for Drake’s It’s All A Blur Tour to generate what might be the wildest running joke between the star and his fans in his decade-long career to date. After a recent spate of concertgoers throwing objects at performers, Drake made the request to only throw bras at him for the duration of his tour. Since then, he’s received ever more ridiculous offerings, including one from a woman with a 36G bust who received offers from OnlyFans and Playboy after his amazed response.

And while he asked fans to take a night off in LA recently out of respect for his five-year-old son’s first concert, the temporary ceasefire ended in extravagant fashion at his next one. During a break in his most recent show, he held up a massive pink bra so big it was almost as long from clip-to-clip as he is tall (for the record, Drake clocks in at 6’0″ in real life, not just on Google). In it was a note he said he couldn’t read out loud as he joked, “This might be the end of a saga.” He quickly discovered, however, that it was actually a gag gift from his dad Dennis, and the card actually bore a (sort of) sweet message: “Wishing big things for you. I love you, and making sure you are breastfed forever,” prompting Drake to chuckle as he wondered, “What’s wrong with you?” Check out the video below.

Kevin Gates Spotted Attending Drake’s LA Concert

Kevin Gates is known for his brash lyrics and wild antics, but his camaraderie with his peers is often overlooked. Gates was recently spotted attending Drake’s LA tour stop. In a clip that recently surfaced online, the “2 Phones” rapper appears to be enjoying himself during Drake’s set. Following a quick intermission, Drake noticed Gates in the crowd and embraced him. The pair quickly dapped it up before the “Nonstop” rapper resumed his performance.

The last time the two names were mentioned together was during YNW Melly’s murder trial. An undercover cop ended up mentioning the rappers during his testimony regarding the violent content in their lyrics. Juelz Santana, Young Thug, and French Montana were also among those referenced.

Drake’s latest trek started last month, and it has already broken records. Drake earned $5 million each night at Capital One Arena, making him the first rapper to earn that amount in a single performance. Spanning 54 dates across the US and Canada, the tour will run until October. There will be stops in notable cities like Inglewood, Toronto, and more. The tour has featured various special guests so far, including Lil Yachty and, most recently, Meek Mill.

In other news, Kevin Gates recently came back to Instagram to send a message to his followers. In a clip posted to his official page, the rapper seems to be relaxing in the ocean as he speaks directly to the camera. He had quite a bit to say. “Let the record reflect,” he began. “[If] [you] ever did me dirty when I wasn’t nothing but genuine with you people… Hey, I forgive you. I didn’t understand it when I was going through it, but I thank you.” He continued: “‘Cause y’all… provoked me to be something that I never, ever thought I could be… I’m gonna step away for a while, and I’m gonna have my executive assistant take care of my affairs.” He added, “Hey, but do me two favors…Find me two n*ggas.
